InDesign CS3 5.0.4 Changes to documents not being registered properly

My boss has been complaining about a lot of "mistakes" lately and changes not being made, which is odd because I don't generally make a lot of mistakes. So I started paying very close attention and this is what I have discovered:
Sometimes changes that I make to a document will randomly revert. Sometimes changes don't get saved. The problem is random and not reproducible.
For example: I made a change to an item, and then copied and pasted that item onto another page. The change "sticks" in the new location of the item, but the original somehow, at some random future point, reverts to the pre-change state.
Another example: I moved an item on a page, then saved, then printed, then closed the document. In that order. The printout shows the change. When I opened the document again, the item I moved was back where it was before I moved it.
I am not having this problem in any other application. Just InDesign. Can anyone help me? I don't know what to do, but if it keeps happening, it could get me fired.
My computer is a Mac Pro 2.8GHz Quadcore. OS is 10.5.6.
I have, of course, already tried repairing permissions. Thanks for your help.

I just posted the exact problem to a new forum today ...changes revert... Have you had any problems since the preferences were trashed...? Do you think the Save As technique will work alone without the trashing of the preferences?
Well, you do have some company in your misery...
as if that is any consolation for being fired. . .
We hope it hasn't grown to that extent.
We do a quarterly magazine (Veritas) ... and this problem has plagues us since we've moved to CS3 years ago and just thought it was operator error. Until we started noticing much of the same proofreading errors version after version.
Let me know how you're progressing, and we'll report back about how we move along as well.

In Adobe 7, I need to add some pdf pages to the end of a document, but the insert pages (as well as all other items under Document> are greyed out.
On the document properties\ Security> the document restrictions summary says "Changing the Document: Not Allowed", but the Security Method in the drop down above is set to "No Security"

If there are form fields, then whoever added them probably used the forms menu, not the Acrobat form fields. Thus the PDF was converted to Designer and you are out of luck. The FORMS button found in various places in Acrobat 7 and latter takes you to Designer, not the Acrobat form tools. The latter are located in the tools menu.

Delivery document not being picked while creating shipment document

Dear All,
Issue is regarding creation of shipment document.
As i am creating shipment document in VT01N, am unable to get the delivery doc . ie., delivery document is not picked in shipment creation.
I have created a sales order, picking is completed n saved, PGI not yet been done.
Am unable to create a shipment document due to delivery document not being picked.

The issue is solved.
As the Route was not picking in Sales Order so the delivery was not picked in shipment creation.
Route determination setting was not correct.

Reasons for billing documents not being created ?

I am trying to create a billing document from a delivery (VF01). When I enter document number and save, it says 'no billing documents genereated, see the log'. Where to see the log and what do you think could be the possible reasons for billing document not being created ?

Hi,
In VL02 transaction, Its the 2nd button on the toolbar With an `!` mark on the icon along with triangle. CLick that button. It will display the errors bcz of which delivery is not created.
In VL01, goto EDIT-> LOG.
The explanation of errors is usually pretty detailed.

Indesign CS3 : Inset spacing preview in text box not there anymore.

Hi!
In Indesign CS2, I could see a "preview" of the inset spacing of my text boxes in "Preview Mode (W)".
In Indesign CS3, I can't see it anymore unless I move my text boxes (the preview of the inset spacing of my text boxes shows only when I move the boxes).
This is bad, because I can't see really fast which boxes have inset spacing and which ones don't.

Yes.
Normal Mode hides all of those things. But Preview Mode shows all of those things (unless otherwise selected in the "View" menu).
I need to see the inset spacing of my text boxes in Preview Mode without having to move them.

Changes in itunes not being changed on my iphone4s

Great job, troubleshooting your issue so far. You may want to try manually updating your iTunes Match using the steps found in this article to see if that helps correct your issue:
How to troubleshoot iTunes Match - Apple Support
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. You can download the latest version for free.
Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the iTunes menu, choose Advanced > Get Album Artwork.
Once iTunes has completed processing the album artwork, you'll need to update iTunes Match.
From the iTunes menu, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
In your instance you can skip steps 3 & 4, as your issue doesn't involve Album Artwork.

Status/Delivery Documents not being updated in C4C from ECC on PGI

Hi,
We are integrating SAP C4C with ERP via HCI. We have created a followup ‘Sales Order’ from an opportunity in C4C.
On creating the followup sales order this gets created in SAP ERP & we get back the sales order/inquiry number in C4C,but we do not get any status.
Also for the sales order when we try to deliver or do a ‘Post Goods Issue’ in ERP and we deliver goods the document flow in ERP shows’ ‘delivery number’ etc but these statuses are not being updated in C4C.
We have already configured the 'Communication Arrangements ' in C4C, with this scenario as below,
Opportunity with followup business Transaction in ERP ------ > Update opportunity from followup business transaction document.
In HCI we have configured the following template in eclipse :
ERP to Cod Opportunity Replicate
So,C4C still has just two entries one for inquiry & one for sales order with just the number and no other followup documents details/status ,say PGI --delivery document number etc.Can you kindly help.

If I am not wrong you might be using the URL for Outbound Channel that is mentioned in Catalog (standard scenarios for HCI on HCI tenant). Mind that the Outbound URL for Pricing, Query Sales Quote and Query Sales Order Scenario should be picked up from Services for same which we can get from SICF on ECC. These URL structures are also maintained in 1402 standard document for ERP integration using HCI. Yet mentioning them below:

These URL paths are to be maintained in the Outbound Channel on artifacts related to Request Pricing, Query Sales Quote and Query Sales Order.

Change Management Document not visable in Change Management Workcenter

I am configuring CHARM in my sandbox Solution Manager EHP1 system. I have created a Change Request and assigned it to a Maintenance Cycle. The request has status Authorized and the associated Change Document (Correction) has been created. I have entered the Business Partner number for the Developer in the Current Processor field of the Change Document. When I log on as the Developer, I can see the Change Document when going through CRM_DNO_MONITOR, but the Change Document does not appear on the Change Management tab when I navigate to the Change Management Workcenter. The same problem appears when I assign the current processor to another role such as a Tester.
I have the following roles assigned.
Developer:
SAP_CM_DEVELOPER_COMP
SAP_CM_SMAN_DEVELOPER
SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
SAP_SMWORK_CHANGE_MAN
SAP_SOCM_DEVELOPER
Tester:

Thanks Xavier. Yes, adding SAP_ALL / SAP_NEW enabled the change document to appear in the workcenter.
I was able to track down the authorization to authorization Object CRM Order - Business Transaction Type (CRM_ORD_PR-PR_TYPE). Just needed to add the Transaction Type for the Change Document and that did the trick.

Opening illustrator cs3 file in Fireworks changes color, but not code

I created a vector graphic in Illustrator CS3, with RGB. I
then opened the file in Fireworks and everything looks fine because
it's still vector. But the color is not right. It's close, but much
lighter. The RGB values are exactly the same.
Anyone have this problem before?

Fireworks does not use color profiles, so the colors you see
in Fireworks will be what the majority of Web site visitors will
see (skipping, for the moment, the huge problem of monitor
variation). Only Safari displays images using the color profiles.

So, while your experience is with Illustrator, it's probably
the same underlying cause. Illustrator is showing you the colors
with an ICC profile, even though they're in RGB. When you open the
image in Fireworks, you see the colors without a profile.

Missing Export Data - Accounting document not being triggered for Billling

Hello All,
We are facing probem in getting an accounting document posted for an Invoice.
The error i found is that the deliverying country in the header of Invoice is NlL (Netherlands) and in the line item is CH (Switzerland).
But as per configuration Plant used to create the corresponding sales order has deliverying country as CH, so ow can the delivery country in header of invoice be NL..??
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Is this the first order / invoice you are creating for this Document Type / Customer? Yes / No
If no, try to see When this has happened and just think of any changes that you had done in the meanwhile duration.
Re-check the areas where we give Country. (Someone else could have changed without your knowledge). Some suggestions from my side
1. Customer (All Partner functions)
2. Plant
3. Shipping Point
4. Sales Organisation
5. Sales Office
Maybe you could think of more.
Kindly post your solution (when you get one). I am keen in knowing what caused this peculiar problem and how to solve the same.

Cost Center Plan documents not being generated

I entered some internal order planning using "KPF6 - Change" the system generated plan documents which I can see using KABP
But when I record / post Planning Cost and Activity Inputs using KP06, the system does not generate any plan document though saves the data I entered.
Please tell me what configuration is missing?

there is more than use of integrated planning; for example it is also possible to move planned cost to Profit centre accouting; also you can have an integrated planning between cost centre and internal order or project (distributing cost from object to the other).
basically if you just need to plan on cost centre you shall not expect any counter effect.

Accounting document not being generated from SD

I have been trying to create billing documents from SD but I am getting this message that says that Accounting document can not be generated. Even when I release to accounting it just says no accounting document generated.

Could be an issue with account determination (VKOA). You can analyze via Environment -> Account Determination Analysis -> Revenue Accounts to see what is missing. Please also search the forum with keywords from your subject line. There are several messages. Here is one example.
