InFocus LiteShow Manager crippled

I am using a MacBook Pro in my classroom to project wirelessly. When I installed OS 10.5 and attempted to connect by wifi to projector in my classroom (InFocus X2) using LiteShow Manager, I get a crash every time. Initially the program picks up the device and allows me to project, but when it resizes the resolution and downsizes the dialog box, there is about a one second delay and the application crashes with a nice line of vertical bars across the dialog box which reappears. This crash usually corrupts the icons in the bottom bar and changes them to gibberish or a 2D object.
I have reinstalled the Manager software on the computer and tried connecting to another projector in another classroom with identical results.
It ran flawlessly in 10.4.
I have contacted InFocus support, and so far had cheerful but ineffective help.
Any suggestions that I can try on the OS?

  • Infocus LiteShow II wireless projector adapter

    Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone has worked with the LiteShow II adapter and LWAPP ap's. I have a problem where I set up a WPA-PSK network and the device fails to connect. The client status said that it failed the authentication policy on the WLC. From a laptop everything works fine. I just can't get the device to connect to my LWAPP 1242's. I contacted Infocus about this and they are very slow to respond. I even tried the connection to the wlan with everything set to "open" mode. That didn't work either. Is there some kind of policy that I need to change to allow 3rd party AP's to connect to the wlan as a client? It's almost like a WGB, where the client connects to the Infocus, gets a 10.0.0.x address, and then the infocus bridges the 10.0.0.x network with the wlan's network. Is that not supported with LWAPP ap's? Any insight would be helpful.

We had a similar issue with projectors from a different manufacturer. Try setting the IP addy of the projector manually and if there is a gateway setting on the projector point that to the IP addy of the AP. Also make sure that you have layer 3 for LWAPP transport. Layer 2 will not work.

  • Infocus Liteshow III - macbook air compatibility

I am running the OSX version 10.7.4 on my macbook air (1.8ghz I7 and 4GB memory): I tried to connect to the Infocus LiteshowIII device with the latest version of the Liteshow app in Wifi: it does not work (black screen, and I only see the mouse moving...).
Anyone has a idea to solve the issue?
    Thanks in advance

  • Problems connecting Macbook to Infocus X2 Projector

I'm trying to set up my Macbook to project through my Infocus X2 projector using an Infocus Liteshow wireless card.
I can get the screen to project but the visual comes up looking kind of like a 'negative' image. I've fiddled with my display settings but can't seem to fix it.
I don't think the problem is with the projector itself because it projects fine from my other DVD player.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Try turning on the White on Black option in the Seeing section of the Universal Access pane of System Preferences when you need to present; this will invert the color of all displays currently connected to the machine.

  • Snap crackle pop issue....fixed - audigy 2 plat/

My first post, Hope the title doesn't mislead/anger anyone, but i truly believe these solutions
are uni'versal and can be applied with just about everyone.
My card is almost 5 years old now or so... I've seen the frustration on this board about this
nasty issue.... i felt SO bad for some of you guys that i just had to sign up and share my
knowledge (or lack of!) for the multiple, possible 'fixes' to this. its not entirely CREATIVE's
fault and there is ways to fix it, you just need a bit of Patience and the willingness to learn
a bit more about your hardware if you arent too savy with tweaking it. this might of all been
said before, but i really hope this helps some of you.
Lets get the blahblahblah's outta the way just to be safe, shall we? Obviously, make sure your
card isn't sharing an IRQ with a cd/dvd device, or any kind of hardware that transfers a lot of
data constantly or uses a lot of power like a hard-dri've, maybe even certain gpu's. In my case,
my bottom PCI-slot (3/3) only shares an irq with a USB port and as corny as it sounds it did
improve the issue (i disabled that USB, but that isn't necessary its overkill/fail-safe
precaution, probably doesn't even help at all, paranoia setting). download Si-Software Sandra to
see exactly what belongs to where and what irq is being shared with what. Also before i forget,
clean out your dri'ves with bleach/acid/napalm with a program such as Drivercleaner, just to be
    safe, right?
If you have anything on your Motherboard that's VIA/raid related, its imperati've you upgrade the
drivers for it, it could very well be your single solution, for example the latest via_hyperion
pro_v5a.zip did it for me and my particular setup just recently after a small hardware upgrade.
this fixed the MAJORITY of the pops in several different machines with these motherboards as well
i might add. Also make sure the Cable is newer than 2 years old, dirty worn cables can
cripple/weird out any piece of hardware, that goes for HD's, CD roms, ...anything that uses
IDE/serial cables etc. lots of people toss their dvd/cd roms out thinking they've used its
life-span, when a brand new ide cable is all it really needed. but... this VIA/raid driver
problem seems to be a pretty common fix in my experiences.
Gamers who suffer from "sudden" or "random" pops here and there while gaming......... with time
will notice this occurs usually when the HD is seeking a lot of info and is under a decent amount
of stress, OBLIVION is a good example of the HD being as important as ram/cpu/gpu IMO. that's
why....... "it seems to do it more (pops/cracks) with certain games than others". ACOUSTIC
MANAGEMENT is Often to blame for this in My opinion, and some maxtor dri'ves come with this
enabled from the factory (why, why why?!! ...die die die!!!). Imagine setting the In-game HD
cache setting Tweak for obilivion enabled to , + Acoustic managementenabled....it turns
preformance into a bloody mess, and will (possibly, most likely?) crack annoyingly often whenever
a new area is being loaded and sufficient data is being called, not to mention make a less
experienced gamer think his machine is completely screwed for no reason. Acousitc Mangemtn
enabled on a hard-dri've can be suicidal for certain games and will almost guarantee preformance
issues, cracks, burns, bruises, broken bones, stab wounds.....and most likely the lovely POPS...
the nasty loud firecracker ones...it can be so bad to the point where many of us will not even
play anymore out of frustration, especially for you audiophiles... leaving us angry and desperate
for a fix. Acoustic management CRIPPLES performance and destroys seek-time, that i AM sure of,
so fix it anyway for your own good, unless you don't care for performance. Please, get rid of
this nasty, possibly/commonly built in feature that turns a 7200rpm dri've into a 5400rpm (ouch),
make SURE this is disabled for you maxtor/seagate HD owners who play games or just want better
performance period. You'll have to google those instructions, I wouldnt dare say more.
On a separate machine, "tad in" and "cd audio" had to be muted to stop a lot of it, as well as EAX
effects (i know you love eax, but its worth the sacrifice) slider turned DOWN to 0% even when disabled.
this may not be necessary for everyone, but a lot of us suffer from those soft "echoey crackles"
and its a quick fix. im sure you've all read this "solution" 5 billion times, but it doesnt hurt
to put it out there. that, or dxdiag or control panel audio properties the slider to Standard acceleration, better to lose eax IMO.
there is no support or guarantee with this patch, and it supposedly doesn't support/work properly
with XP Servicepack 2, however this worked on my dads machine and a friends' as well. GOOGLE
"down vlatency", (not "download" vlatency) and click on the "georgebreese.com" link and try his
vlatency_v020_beta2.exe. this simply overrides some BIOS settings that many of us cant access
easily or at all, and boosts IDE latency and on a lot of different PC setups and gives more
juice to the PCI bus by editing how much the CPU will control the pci bus for, or something like
that. point is, its a redbull for your PC's pci related bandwidth/juice management and it cant
hurt to try (lets hope not j/k).
i don't recommend messing with IRQ assignments in bios or pci latency utilities unless you really
know what you're doing and consider yourself a power user, just a personal opinion, 32 is fine
and a lot of people end up regretting messing with these settings.
there is also the "turbo off" setting (think there's a "patch" for that registry setting too),
but i seriously doubt it will resolve a users problem who suffers Heavily from this syndrome, but
i guess you could try it.
Last but not least, another "ghetto" fix that could improve your issue is killing your CMSS
feature. i have no idea why that setting always acts up (at least for my machine it does) and
causes rice crispies to go off.
Its 2am on a Friday, I've been writing for a while, and i really don't know if i was clear enough
with what i said, but no way im going back to read/correct cause ill be here forever. if you've all tried this before with no luck, sorry. i'm just trying to help if
i can, and if 2 single words out of this post can even spark an idea to help fix somebodies rig, its worth it, right?
Remember to never trust anyone with anything (especially advice) or put your hopes and dreams
into a randomer's advice (such as mine!), keep in mind I'm just an average guy with no
qualifications or credentials that could be wrong about EVERY single thing i just said, i could
be completely out of my mind for all we know, listening to me could very well make your PC
explode and set your house on fire....be warned!! haha that's my surgeon generals warning for ya. GOOD NIGHT and good luck!

  • MOUSE-OVER MENUS & iWEB:   my crippled site

For hours and hours, over the last several months, I've been working with a brilliant programmer who managed to write html/java script/CSS code that created mouse-over menus on my iWeb site. With the help of two additional programs - mass-replace-it and key-maestro, with one stroke, iweb properly exported to a local folder, mass-replace-it introduced my mouse-over code into all html files which were then uploaded to Go-Daddy via an ftp program.
The result: a 95% near-hit––however, due to our inability to achieve 100% fully functional mouse-over/pull-down menu code, we both finally gave up.
No joke, this has been one of the deepest disappointments of my adult years.
    Here's the link:
    www.petersolon.com
I plan to keep up my crippled site for the nest 24 - 72 hours, hoping someone out there can convey why, when any one of a number of pages (for instance, go to "mission" which is one of the Intro pages) - in fact, when most pages, are refreshed, once, twice, 3 or 4 times (particularly in Firefox) - suddenly, entire navigation strings jumps down and beneath the line they should be straddling. In other words, for some unknown reason, again primarily (but not entirely) in Firefox (yes, we're using the latest version) refereshing page several times, at some point, pushes the primary navig. menus to a spot they should not move to.
We tried every trick in the book, introducing older programming gimmicks like fixed tables, lengthening the "place-holder" iWeb entities that welcome/introduce the appropriate code for each page, getting the iWeb header out of the way, etc, etc - and yet, refresh 1, 2, 3 or 4 times whop/wham: primary nav menus jump down 100 pixels or so, below the very line they should be over - as if some "onload" or java script command or some unfathomable interaction between firefox and iWeb won't allow it to work.
If anyone can help.....please––we came so close. Finally, programmer gave up due to sheer exhaustion, lack of options, as did I...
Thanks so much in advance, Peter

    It's a font rendering problem, and it's a repeat-able
problem in firefox, and to some degree in other
browser also. I see it in firefox and safari on vista
    machine.
Try to set monospace font size to something big like
16-point, and minimum font size to none; play with
font settings. You will see the problem.
Cyclosaurus, I really appreciate your taking time to see if it reproduces.
But it's not a font rendering problem--that much I know.
In iWeb generated sites - probably sites generated by other software as well - upon refresh, there's often a slight bounce or movement and then movement back--this is for text, graphics, whatever. ("onload" command (??).
On my site, in the code - only upon refresh (which is the really weird part) - there's something about the positioning of the primary nav string and its relationship to the pink graphic. At one point, each indiv primary navigation menu would "jump over" the pink graphic. However, we "tied" the indiv. primary nav menus to each other using a fixed table, (I'm not a programmer but from what I've heard, I guess this was a programming strategy that was common prior to css.) Anyway, now the whole string either jumps over the pink line - or doesn't - and - again, upon refresh - it also jumps back to its proper position. When it jumps back to its proper position (relative to pink graphic), mouse-over menus work fine.
It seems to be related to primary nave string's position vis a vis pink graphic - and (weirdly) refresh.
We tried removing the "on-load" command from iWeb's code but that didn't work. Tried removing height commands - but that didn't work. Tried removing all elements from a typical page, one by one - but that didn't work.
Any further help would be appreciated...thank you much again....

  • Add-on Manager freezes Firefox when I open it.

I am using Linux Mint 10 and Firefox 4b11pre, although this has been happening since at least b9pre. I am running Fx from my home folder as downloaded from Mozilla, not from a PPA. This happens on the "stable" beta releases as well as the "pre" releases. I used to be able to "vacuum" the databases with the program Bleachbit and the problem would go away...for a while. Now that is no longer affective.
Also, and I think this is important, ALL add-ons are functioning correctly. Everything works except I cannot open the add-on manger.
The new (huge, cumbersome, and unresponsive) add-on manager simply stops working. It won't load or partially loads and the browser darkens, which signifies an unresponsive program in Linux. I then have to force quit Firefox.
If I have crash reporting enabled I am never asked to submit a report.
This occurs completely randomly. It is not associated with any particular add-on as far as I can tell. I have spent many hours trying to diagnose this problem to no avail.
    Things I've already done:
    1. Build a completely fresh profile. I have done this several times, combining many different settings, and the problem still happens. It happens with the default settings, when I only change settings from the Preferences dialog, and when I change settings through about:config. I have also used the safe-mode switch to reset all settings, but it still happens. Similarly, I have re-downloaded Firefox itself, "pre" and "stable" for fear of corruption by updates, which has happened before, but this does not solve anything either.
    2. Safe mode. If I choose to disable all add-ons from the safe mode dialog and restart Firefox the add-on manager works. At any given time I have about 30 add-ons enabled, mostly the standard ones (Adblock, No Script, etc.), and many that I'm just playing around with.
Now, when I start to enable add-ons, the add-on manager works. I can enable, say, 5 at a time, completely randomly, and it will continue to work until I reach about 25, then it dies. I have removed all add-ons except the ones approved by Mozilla on there add-ons website. Then with all approved add-ons (and a still not working manager) I have disabled all add-ons, restarted, and enabled them one by one. Enable, restart. Enable, restart. Then, randomly, it just doesn't work anymore and freezes. I have done this many times and in totally random orders. It does not happen on any specific add-on, and always happens some where between 21 and 27 enabled. You can imagine how frustrating this is, since the add-on manager offers no way to mass-enable or count add-ons.
Finally, I receive no red flags in the error console and have exhausted my Firefox debugging knowledge. I receive no errors when running from the terminal either. As I said, all add-ons are functioning correctly. I have done other combinations of things, if it's a logical off-shoot of anything I mentioned above then I've likely done it. I've searched everywhere, Bugzilla, Google, individual add-on bugs, etc. to no avail.
Sorry this was so long, but if I can't manage my add-ons there's simply no reason to continue using Firefox, but, since it's normally the best browser around, I don't want to face that option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the answer the-edmeister. I am aware that using 3.6 and 4.0 on the same profile breaks things. I don't do it and never have. In fact I don't use 3.6 at all. What's the point? The only reason I know that it happens with b10 is because I downloaded it just to see. I have been using exclusively pre versions for quite some time with little issue.
As for the version numbers, thanks for explaining that a bit more. I can see that it goes deeper than the .rdf, but I have to reiterate that all 23 of the add-ons that don't break the add-on manager have the correct version number or "4.0.*" They are all popular add-ons that are updated regularly, so if you choose to "doubt" that's up to you :) Installing any of the offending add-ons breaks the add-on manager...EVEN ON A FRESH PROFILE. This may be some crazy fluke, but it happens on every fresh profile I make. "Fresh" meaning starting completely from scratch; I do not import one single thing from the old profile. I had hoped to get that across before.
I check for add-on updates manually already. I have all automatic updating turned off. Checking for updates does not fix the problem. I have no "button at the bottom of the Extension Manager window," that may be a Windows/Mac thing. The button for updating add-ons on Linux is at the top. It has a drop-down menu with various options, I assume that's what you mean?
This is a fresh profile. I'm using Linux. Done the profile business several times.
It turns out that the add-on manager will work correctly if I change the data in install.rdf to reflect the correct version, although it still seems to choke up, that is, slow down considerably, when I have over 30 add-ons installed. I have had to restart to get it to load twice, but at least it still loads. I have 37 enabled / 2 disabled right now. This is more than usual due to my experimenting, but thus far my theory is holding true.
If the version # in the install.rdf is correct the add-on manager works as it should.
If I disable add-on compatibility checking and install add-ons that are marked as NOT compatible from AMO the add-on manager works as it should.
If I install an extension marked as compatible on AMO but has the wrong version # in the install.rdf the add-on manager freezes, crippling the browser. This happens every time. Whatever Firefox is supposed to be doing with extensions.sqlite is failing.
Here are some of the offending add-ons that crash the add-on manager unless I manually change the install.rdf version #:
    Download Statusbar,
    Friendly Bug,
    Firecookie,
    BBCodeExtra,
    Memory Restart,
    Omnibar,
    Stylish Custom,
    Yexplore
All those add-ons work fine when installed from AMO, but crash the add-on manager. If I change the install.rdf file, they no longer trash the manager. I may be missing some things somewhere, I am not a developer, but the causation is clear. I can reproduce this again and again. Seriously, over and over again, on fresh profiles. To reiterate, the underlying issue may be something I don't understand, but this is specifically, without fail, what is happening.
Any insight you may have regarding this issue is more than welcome.

  • Desktop Manager and Content Protection

    Hi,
We've enabled content protection across all our devices via an IT policy. We are noticing that now, when some users try to connect to their devices via the desktop manager, the manager hangs.
Is this just a coincidence or is there problems connecting to devices with content protection enabled?

I'm glad I found this thread.
I loaded the Desktop Manager and Roxio Media Manager 2 days ago. It completely crippled my laptop (running Vista, 4GB RAM etc), which previously ran very well.
I suspected it was Roxio when I watched it take 20 minutes to install.
Worringly, my laptop was crippled without the Desktop or Roxio software being used. The response rate was once every 5 minutes, and when eventually getting to the Task Manager and looking at the Processes and Applications (a 15 minute job!), there was nothing untoward.
Having uninstalled them and rebooted, the laptop is back to its former glory so quite what Roxio was doing in the background, I have no idea. I won't be touching it again.

Instead of using SMC - why not use the format command - this utility has traditionally allowed the sysadmin to perform disk related tasks. If you plan to be "playing around" with disks on a solaris system - smc is not the tool. If you had intended to use ZFS - you're stuck with the command line (really sucks if you're dependent on GUIs). Either use the free SVM command line or get a copy of Veritas Foundation Basic Suite "free" (but crippled - limited to 4 volumes and 4 filesystems) - http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/sfbasic/index.jsp. At least with Veritas - the GUI will step you thru the entire process of disk management. I can't say that for SVM, with a bit of persistence and skill - you might not be disappointed. I prefer the command line because you can specify a myriad of parameters that the GUIs can't initutively tell you.

  • Wairning: No Solaris Fdisk Partition when managing disks in SMC

I just setup Solaris 10 on an old Dual Ultra Sparc II 400mhz system and I'm having a strange problem with the Solaris Management Console.
I'm using the SMC to manage my disks but everytime I select a disk I get the error "Warning: No Solaris Fdisk Partition" IF I continue and attempt to create the paritition it just fails. This is really strange. All of the disks give me this error, including the disk that I'm booting from.
Also, all the disks just say NAME as their label. Under Solaris 9 it actually showed me c0t1d0 etc..
All of the disks show up and operate fine when using other commands such as format or probe-scsi at the open boot prompt. As well all of the devices are present in /dev/rdsk.
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

  • Large cells managment

    I'm actually using Pages'09.
(I have this same problem with many different versions of MacOS X I  use:
    Mac OS X 10.6 → 10.9).
I'm working with tables and large cell contents (well in fact I would like to work this way).
When reaching the bottom border of the page, the text I type continue to go within my table cell.
But I can't see it anymore. I can't manage it. I can't even select it to put it in another manually created cell.
I expected that upon reaching the bottom border of the page,
my table would automatically create a new cell with same characteristics on the next page
and that my text would automatically flow on this new cell.
    This isn't what happen.
From many discussions about this function I understood that this function isn't provided
    within Pages'09.
How may I reach this expected feature?
I haven't been able to find in any Pages'13 advertising if this basic function is provided.
Before suggesting any improvement to Apple about this basic function,
and before trying to buy, install and check new versions I don't actually need,
could someone tell me if this function is provided by any more recent version of Pages?

Pages can't do what you want it to do. It isn't Word. Nor does Pages 5 have it. Pages 5 is a crippled version of Pages.
You need to split your text into more cells as cells can't split over pages breaks. The table has also to be inline. You have probably read this over and over and it is still that way.
I myself find it very difficult reading a lot of text in table cells. Using linked Text Boxes would be an alternative rout to go.

  • Desktop Manager and Roxio Media Manager Soooo Slow

Desktop Manager and Roxio Media Manager are so slow. Why? Just getting them to open takes five minutes or more.

  • Adobe 10.1.7 will not close in task manager after you exit the program. High cpu

    Hello,
Updated to 10.1.7 and noticed that when you close the program an instance of acrobat stays open in task manager with high 50%+ cpu usage. Will not close at all unless you end task. if you open adobe again a new instance opens again consuming more cpu and cripples the machine with high cpu. This is on win 8 64bit machine. Had the previous release 10.1.6 working for some time on the same machine with no issues.
    Thank you in advance

Identical issue with Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit. After viewing PDF file, upon closing Acrobat, a new Background Process starts called Adobe Acrobat (32 bit) uses 18% of cpu.  I have left run for three to four hours and does not close.  If I open another PDF file and then close, a second Background Process of Adobe Acrobat (32 bit) start, also using 18% of cpu.  I was able to open a third PDF file and upon closing a third Background Process of Adobe Acrobat (32 bit) start, also using 18% of cpu.  I did not try more.  All three consume over 50% of processor and after an hour does not close.  Fan and cpu begin to run hot so I manual End Task.  I tried Repair Acrobat Installation command, did not fix.  After searching forum used the Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html) to uninstall.  Then downloaded Acrobat XI Pro from My Adobe account login.  Reinstalled software.  Issue gone, could not replicate even after several hours of trying.  Then Checked for Updates. After updates installed, loaded and brought to version 11.0.3, problem returned as before. I have PDF files on both local drive and NAS, been able to recreate issue on both.  In a PDF intensive environment, I was having to leave the task manager up and occasionally stop Background Process of Adobe Acrobat (32 bit) so as to keep processor usage and fan speed down, thanks to Goateye01 for the suggestion, I now leave Acrobat open and close the files, this way the background process hang does not occur.  Additional Note, only able to create issue with standalone application, issue does not occur when in IE10 and viewing PDF files.   Hopefully a fix or helpful guidance coming soon?

  • MobileMe website crippled/unusable on iphone!

i was fast getting disgusted enough with always being forcibly shunted off to crippled (and often entirely useless) versions of the websites i want to go to because they know i'm using a phone, but - aside from being completely unable to access my investment accounts from my phone because my broker's site forces me onto their "mobile" website and their "mobile" website has been DOWN since it was created - this last experience takes the cake: i can't log in to my MobileMe account from my iPhone because i'm using an iPhone.
going to mobileme.com takes me against my will to a faux-website that tells me, in slightly more diplomatic terms, that i have no business even coming to the website on my phone because i can manage mobileme's services from within the applications on my phone. while this may be true of the services, it is not true of the thing i actually want to manage: my account. when i click the only link on this crippled page, it takes me to the regular mobileme website, where i think, "ah! there's the login link!" and click the login link - whereupon i am taken straight back to the useless page i was on before. because i'm using a phone.
so to Apple's mind, the fact that i'm accessing the site from my phone means, definitively, that i do not want to manage my account. well, Apple, you're wrong.
you know what we need? we need a web standard to address this B.S.. we need a standard that says that users will always be taken to the full website first, regardless of their hardware/software configuration, whereupon they will be given clear and prominent links that will allow them, IF THEY CHOOSE, to
    a) go to the mobile version of the website for the current visit, and
    b) ELECT to be taken to the mobile version of the website by default in the future.
but this business of websites rendering their users unable to do what they want to do - without so much as consulting the users first - because they're using phones instead of some other kind of computer is a serious problem that must be done away with.
