Install GMS onto same GroupWise server

For an environment with less than 10 users, can GMS be installed on the same server hosting the GroupWise services given SLES-11 x64 sp3?

The question should not be if it "could" but rather, "should". In my experience GMS is very disk and resource intensive. I would NOT install it with anything else...but of course your mileage may vary...but I would test things very carefully.

  • Multiple installations of XI 3.0 on the same Windows server

    Hi,
is it possible to have multiple instances of XI 3.0 installed on the same Windows server? I know that I can create seperate database users for the repositories and that I can have different ports configured for CMS. I'm concerned about the registry and whether a second installation would overwrite the registry for the first installation or if there are anyother show stoppers.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Not yet, I know our product group is looking at this but currently only 1 per windows server. They are now supporting XI3 on top of XIR2 or other products known as side by side install. I don't have any type of ETA and wouldn't expect it soon.

  • Do I need to unload the GroupWise agents if I am installing WebAccess on its own server?

    Hi,
I ma installing GW Web Access into our GW703 tree and the install is prompting me to unload all agents on the machine to which I am installing.
As I am installing onto a separate server, I am assuming I can leave my PO, GWIA and MTA running?
Can someone confirm this before I proceed?
    Thanks for your help

    Thanks!

Yes, the install means to unload all agents running on the server where
you are installing WebAccess. If all your agents are on other servers
    you can leave them running.

  • Can we install Oracle 8i and 10g on the same windows server?

I would like to install the Oracle server 8i and 10g on the same windows server? Is this possible.
Forgive me if this question is already asked.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jay.

WHICH Windows version? (There's more than one). It would be useful to be a little bit more precise (NT,2000,XP,2003, 32/64 bit) .
For NT and 2000 it is possible to have both 8i and 10g, for XP and 2003 there's no support for 8i at all.

  • Can R12.1.3 and R11.5.10 be installed on the same server?

    Hello there,
We are currently running Oracle eBiz R11.5.10, and would like to install the latest version R12.1.3 for testing purposes.
Can R12.1.3 be installed on the same server (for both database and application tiers) as for R11.5.10? Any pitfalls that we need to be aware of if we do this?
    Thanks for the advice.
    Cheers!

Nothing would stop you from installing 11i and R12 on the same server as long as ORACLE_HOMEs, APPL_TOPs, and COMMON_TOPs of each instance are installed in separate directories. The only pitfall would be the performance (unless you have sufficient resources).
Please don't consider this plan for production instances!
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Can BO XI and CE 10 be installed on the same server?

We are preparing to upgrade our existing CE 10 to BO XI; however, we were unable to obtain a test server and will need to install it on the same server that CE 10 resides on (our development server).  I heard that both versions could not reside on the same server and I need this confirmed by a SME.  Thank you.  ~emoreno

    Tim,
I'm not sure that my question was answered.  I just need to know whether CE10 and BO XI can be installed on the same server?  I have a development server (not a VM) with CE 10 and another customer wants to install BO XI on the same server.  I heard through other sources that BO XI and CE 10 cannot reside on the same server.  I need to know if this statement is accurate?  If BO XI cannot reside on the same server as CE 10, then our contracted vendor will have to provide t this customer with a different server.  I need this information confirmed in order to notify my management.
    Thanks...EMoreno

  • 9i report server die after installed database on same machine

    Hi,
I had a oracle 9i developer suite installed first on my win2000 server, and it runs fine until I installed the oracle 9i database.
Now I can still run the "Start OC4J Instance.bat" and there is no error mesg shows up, but when I tried to access the report http://mypc:8888/reports/, it never able to go this site and no any error mesg.
Do these two products can coexists on same machine?
They are installed on separate directory of course.
    Any idea and suggestion?
    Thanks.
    David

    * When you give "Start oc4j" you should be able to see a dos window open and up and a message like "Oracle Containers for 9023 running" (if I remember correctly). I assume you are able to see that
    * Give
    http://mypc:8888/reports/rwservlet
    What do you get ?
Infact what error message are you getting now exactly ?
    * In $OH\bin
    If you give
    rwserver server=any_name
    in a dos cmd window
are you able to see the server with that name startup and up and running ?
    * I am not sure about DB and Reports in same machine coexisting. But in general oracle products can coexist in same machine. Only problem is because of PATH conflicts.
If in SYSTEM path (in ctrl panel - system - environment)
if there are some path clashes, there may be problems.
    Thanks

  • How do you install the NT domain connector onto the Directory Server Integrated Edition 5.0 for Solaris?

The NT installation lists the NT Domain connector as an option. The Solaris version doesn't. I spoke briefly with a project manager at Sun who said putting an NT Domain connector onto a Directory Server on Solaris was possible, but I'm not sure how.

You'll have to install the NT connector on an NT machine. The Join Engine that joins this connector can reside on Solaris.

  • Can BO 5.1.8 and BOXI R2 be installed on the same server?

    Hi guys,
Does anyone know if BO 5.1.6 and BOXI R2 can be installed on the same server, provided that the hardware is sized to cope with both environments?

    Fernando,
Business Objects does not recommend that two different versions of our software be installed on the same server.
    Thanks,
