I have been trying to get a page in an APEX application to authenticate automatically from a menu function in Apps. I have been working from these instructions:

I have created the procedures, functions etc as required and have set up the menu entry in apps. However, whenever I try to launch the application, the e-business suite login page is shown. The page doesn't display an error however the URL has the following:

I have tried several things such as editing out parts of the authentication procedure and passwing with no parameters but none work. Has anyone else successfully done this and if so, do youhave any pointers?

I've searched metalink for info on this however everything seems to point to simply having the user type in their username and password. I need to be able to seamlessly pass the credentials across from apps to apex.

Oracle 11i E-Business Suite Installation on Windows fails

All you Oracle 11i gurus out there, please HELP as I am at my wit's end.
I am trying to install Oracle 11i E-Business Suite (downloaded from the edelivery Website) on Windows 2003 Server with dual PIII CPU, 1GB RAM, and 150GB+ disk space.
My Oracle 11i install on Windows has been failing during Step 1 of 5 following the process of unpacking the 114 zipfiles for the 9.2.0 database even though all the diagnostic steps passed.
It appears the install is failing on the following step:
InstantiateFile -d d:\oracle\visdb\9.2.0\appsutil\driver\instconf.drv
I have MKS Toolkit installed on C:\MKS and VC++ installed on C:\MVS\VC98.
I have renamed make.exe to gnumake.exe in the C:\MKS\mksnt folder and copied the linker (link.exe) from C:\MVS\VC98\bin to the C:\Windows\System32 folder.
The InstantiateFile step is executing some Java classes. I have also installed the JRE on C:\jre1.5.0_06, although it's doubtful this will impact the install scripts since the scripts are all hardcoded with the included JRE 1.4.2.
Why do Oracle DBAs and users deal with this crap? A software install should not be this difficult.

Thanks to previous responder for tip regarding JDK/JRE anchor strings. I'm not sure if that is a problem. After letting the install process (java.exe) run for over an hour, I finally got past the InstantiateFile step. It looks like the process just takes a long time with no visible progress sometimes. After 5-6 hrs, it looked like the install succeeded (for the most part). There were still some errors in the error logs related to the Concurrent Manager (TNS-12541: TNS:no listener) I believe. If anyone has insight on what this error msg means, I would greatly appreciate a reply.
The other problem I am tackling right now is how to explicitly set the Forms processing mode to HTTP rather than the default socket mode. According to the 11i docs (and Forms Developer 6i docs), you should only have to set "connectMode=HTTP" in the config file, appsweb.cfg, to make this happen. However, when I try bringing up a client form, the form hangs. So, obviously, something is amiss. A related question is whether one can run Forms in only HTTP mode and not HTTPS (and thus avoid having to install SSL). I would greatly appreciate any insight from fellow users.

and the script
oracle\PROD\inst\apps\PROD_TEST\admin\scripts\adstrtal.cmd apps/apps to start the application
and the script
oracle\PROD\db\tech_st\11.1.0\appsutil\scripts\PROD_TEST\addlnctl.cmd stop prod to start the database
but it gives me echo off and didn't work at all

I got the echo off when i trying to start the database and the application using the scripts, Please post the message you get here when your run the scripts (along with the scripts).
i tried to start them in from (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services), but they didn't startDid not start what? What is the error? Check the event viewer for details.
please can you tell me the excat steps to start the databse, database listner and the application ?The steps are just like what you have mentioned in your post (I have also mentioned it in my previous reply).

I think if you are on 12.0.6 you do not need to have those patches applied -- Please query AD_BUGS table to verify if you already have those patches applied or not.
If you cannot download those patches and you still think you need it, please log a SR and Oracle support should help.

I have downloaded 64 bits for Linux but it comes with jre/lib/i386 which to my understanding it is 32 bits jre.
any help please on how to install this application on ubuntu 12.4 64 bits.

How to disable direct forms access in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3

Hi Hussein,
I don't know if I have well formulated the title of this discussion. But I will try to explain.
I have a problem on my TEST Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3 instance. After login into the homepage, some forms automatically start opening. I don't know why, last week the system was working fine. This TEST instance is used by users to train themselves.
How can I make sure that the forms are opening only when someone clicks on them? I don't want the forms to be popping out automatically after someone logs in.

Login as those users and check the preferences, or you can check the value from the backend (through FND_USER_PREFERENCES table).

Oracle e-Business Suite R12 installation

Greetings!!
I'm in the process of downloading the Oracle E-business Suite R12 software on Delivery Cloud. What I'm not so sure of is..
1. Which Files should I download for the complete installation for practise and learning purposes, because I see a string of them?
2. What are the installation instructions if you have a pentium 4, OS-Windows XP Sp3, and a 1.5GB RAM?
I would appreciate it if anyone helps me with a detailed procedure on the installation. Moreso,
3. I kindly ask for any documentated material that can help in this regard?
and
4. How to study Oracle Financial R12 effectively?
5. Lastly. I need information on how to purchase tutorials for one of the e-business suite self study materials?

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 with HACMP

Hello,
I'm planning to make a dtsirbuted installation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 like the flollowing configuration :
- Node 1: Web and Forms
- Node 2 : Concurrent Processing.
The two nodes NODE1 and NODE2 are going to be in cluster HACMP, if Node1 goes down for example the Web & Forms Services Will be started on Node 2 and vice versa.
- Node 3 : DB physically clustered with an other Machine Node4(empty).
I need to know is this a possible architecture in a technical point of view especially for the application? and what are the configurations to perform?

I am having same issue with setting up Ebusiness in HACMP. Concurrent Manager doesnt seem to work with virtual node name (service node name/ server IP).
I have logged a call with IBM Support, so far no progress.

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Trial

I want to know that if I download Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Trial from Oracle edelivery site and use it till 30 days with out license then what happen with the programs.Do they stop working completely or partially untill I purchase a license?

I want to know that if I download Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Trial from Oracle edelivery site and use it till 30 days with out license then what happen with the programs.Do they stop working completely or partially untill I purchase a license?The application will not stop and you will still be able to use it with no issues -- The 30 days license is something ethical, so it is up to you to use it for free or to license it :)

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Financial Implementation in Group of Company

Hi All Dears
I am going to implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Financial in Group of Company. The company has at least 10 different lines of businesses and all are run in single country. I was a financial 11i implementer and involved in 2 single organization structure implementation and both are telecommunication industry. But Now I am going involve MRD sector R12 implementation. It will be great if any body can share organization structure and chart of account structure for a group of company implementation then I will be very help for me.
I am in very trouble. Please help me. My client wants to generate report like
Corporate -> Line of Business -> Company -> Units -> Department -> Cost Center -> Location -> Accounts -> Projects
where Unit will be intercompany.
