Intermittent hl7 tcpip problem

In order to move our hl7 interfaces from the 4.53 version to the 5.1.2 caps version we have a pass-through in the 4.53 system. This sends along a copy of one of the main feeds from our his system to 5.1.2.
The problem is 3 times in the last couple of months the 5.1.2 side reports that it is sending an ack and the 4.53 side does not report receiving the ack. 4.53 then times out and drops/restarts the connection where the message is sent again and the ack is sent again but not seen. I have a file client that I write the logging to in the 5.12 side that writes the ack to the file 1 line after the ack is sent. There are no try catches in this part of the code so the ack would not show up in the log if there were an error. The 4.53 sides logs are set high enough to see the ack in the log but it is not there.
We are using ha and I have failed over to the other server thinking that if everything were stopped and restarted I would be ok. The same issue occurred on the other server once the failover was complete. If I leave it in this loop long enough on occasion one will process correctly.
The only solution that I have found is to stop the domain, delete the domain, recreate the domain, rebuild the projects, and redeploy the projects. This has worked every time so it makes me thing that something is getting corrupted in the domain. The problem is we have numerous projects and it takes quite some time to rebuild and redeploy them all and we are not even close to having all of the 4.53 stuff moved over so there will be many more requiring much more time in the future.
Also I mentioned that this was happening to one of the lines, we have another line from our his that is being passed through 4.53 that is almost a duplicate traffic wise and this has never happened to it. I compared all of the settings in the eway and they are all the same.
This is pretty much stopping us from moving forward. If anyone has any ideas they will be greatly appreciated.

Well thanks for the 100s of helpful replies,  like ZERO  LOL
Anyway screen sorted took it to Meadowhalls Apple center, they took one look and changed it FREE of charge, so much for sending it into apple care center, bunch of dimwits they claimed it was ok and you only had to use it to see it was clearly not.
so moral of the story. DON'T ask here, if your question has more than one answer option, must be too hard for you lot to answer.

  • Intermittent JTable Selection Problem

    Hi,
Everyone once in a while, under NT with 1.4.x, I have problems selecting and highlighting row under JTable. It happens a good bit, but this does not happen all the time. When the table is buggy, it does not keep the row selected nor does it highlight the row. You may have the row selected on a mousedown, but once you release the mouse it's done.
Since this is happening for a variety of JTable's I didn't bother to send Java code. Has anyone else encountered this sort of thing? Or does anyone know what I should be looking at?
The intermittent part is what's killing me. It makes it hard to track down with any high degreee of confidence in the answers.
thanks for any input or suggestions,

  • Intermittent iPhoto sync problem

I've had an iPhone 4 for the past 4 months. Recently (around when I upgraded to iLife 2011), iPhoto sometimes does not "see" my iPhone. I'll plug it in, iTunes will open and start to sync, but iPhoto just sits there and the iPhone doesn't pop up in the side bar.
I've found that if I open up Image Capture and let it "scan" the iPhone for photos, iPhoto will recognize the iPhone when Image Capture finishes scanning. This takes about 5 minutes though, and is obviously just a nasty workaround.
Has anybody else experienced intermittent problems with iPhoto sync?
On topic feature request: I find that when iPhoto DOES recognize the device, the sync process is far from automated. It keeps asking me weather or not I want to import photos that have already been imported (why would I ever want to do that!?), and it then asks me if I want to delete photos from the iPhone as it imports. I think the default behavior should be like iTunes music sync. It just "updates" iPhoto with new photos, and leaves everything else alone. It would be nice to see this sync process built into iTunes so I don't have to worry about two applications syncing properly when I plug in my phone.

  • Intermittent dial out problem

Sometimes, when I hang up and try to redial, I cannot get a dial tone.
I have tested three different phones and it happens on all of them.
I have rung 151 but of course when I ring them the problem is not there because at that point I have dialled out.
I might make several phone calls and all will be fine, othertimes not and I have to wait a while until I am able to ring out.

Have you tried connecting to the test socket and see if the fault clears if not then you need to report an intermittent dial tone

  • Intermittent colour rendering problem

In the past few weeks I've noticed a problem with my Photoshop CS5 (12.0.4) / Windows 7 64-bit setup. Maybe once a day, after using Photoshop for a while, the current document's colours will look like they're using the wrong colour space, usually looking more vivid and artificial. The only way out of the situation is to restart Photoshop.
Example 1: after editing an image in AdobeRGB, I flatten it and run an action to resize, sharpen, and convert to sRGB. Occasionally, the picture ends up looking psychedelic.
Example 2: after copying a selection in a flattened sRGB image, I create a new sRGB image and paste. Occasionally, the new image is clearly off, still similar hues but changed in tone and saturation; going back to the original window, there is visual corruption.
I've got an ATI HD5670 graphics card, and have gone through maybe 3 driver revisions while this problem has existed. It's too infrequent a problem to easily replicate, and what I usually do is save and earlier state as a PSD and reload Photoshop.
    Any suggestions?

I've reset my ATI Catalyst settings and switched off Overdrive. I haven't done much with Photoshop this week, but I was working on an image just now and the problem happened again.
I use AdobeRGB workspace. I was working on an image, and, after finishing all my processing, I was doing my usual chores: running Dr Brown's Services to create two sets of JPEGs of different sizes and colourspaces with and without watermarks... I then ran an action for online gallery publishing:
    Flatten Image
    Fit Image to 2048 square
Smart Sharpen 0.4 pixels at 50%
Convert to sRGB with Relative Colormetric intent and BPComp.
Normally, this works fine. Occasionally (including just now), the colours go warm/vivid. As an experiment, I went back one step in History (avoiding the last conversion step above) and the colours are returned to normal. Go forwards again, and the image overheats. Going back a step and doing the colourspace conversion manually does not create the colour problem.
Why this should happen only occasionally, I have no idea. It gets the profile conversion wrong intermittently; maybe because it's part of an action assigned to a key combination. God knows. I'm baffled.

  • Intermittent "No Service" problem

Every now and again, my iPhone 3G says that it has "no service". It happens in areas that have plenty of service and where my friends' nokias all have service on the same network (optus). Is it possible that this is a problem with my iPhone? If so, how could I prove it to a mac genius? The problem is so intermittent that I couldn't count on it happening at the apple store!
Any other ideas as to what could be going on?
Thanks in advance for your help!

My best guess: this should be an iPhone software problem. Why? I am experiencing more or less the same problem... as a Belgian (European) iPhone owner, on the Belgian Proximus carrier network. All went fine from July 11th until today. Yesterday we made a trip to Paris. It took my iPhone quite a while to automatically connect to a French carrier, but it did! I made and received calls without any problems. Back in Belgium, it kept saying NO SERVICE. The iPhone does detect all carriers available in my area (Brussels) but cannot connect to "my" network/provider. Did a backup+restore and all. Nothing seems to work.

  • Intermittent battery charger problem

The green LCD on my Blackbook magnetic end of the battery charger sometimes glows dull when I connect it and has to be disconnected and reconnected again before it glows green . Any idea what's up - connnections are clean and no sign of loose or bet connectors. Intermittent problem that's buging me

I've got the exact same problem, but a little more severe, I'm afraid. It used to be nothing more than what you described, but it seems to get worse over time. In fact, I downloaded that firmware update that was supposed to fix the battery problems the moment I became aware of it, and it has only seemed to hurt. I used to be able to just unplug/plug the cable, and it would work. Now I have to sit for five to ten minutes just to get the dull light, and if it becomes bright to signify charging, the slightest motion stops the charging. P.S. I am typing this on a Windows PC against my will, as I cannot get my MacBook to charge at all right now.

  • Intermittent Wifi DNS Problem

    Blackberry Curve 8900, Software v 5.0.0.411 (Platform 5.2.0.31)
I seem to have a really annoying intermittent problem with my phone.  Sometimes, it works on my home network perfectly, and other times the Wifi symbol goes grey and I can't browse the internet on it using Hotspot Browser.  All other devices on the network will all be working fine whilst this is going on.
The home screen shows that I am connected to wifi - the SSID is shown - but wifi diagnostics shows that it is not connecting to either the Blackberry infrastructure, or the Enterprise.
The phone is getting the correct DNS server addresses from the router, but it doesn't seem to be able to handle any DNS requests.  I can ping and telnet rcp.eu.blackberry.com perfectly from my laptop, but the phone won't resolve an address for it.
Usually (but not always) a battery pull will sort it out for a while, and sometimes a router reboot will do it.  Switching the wifi off and on again never works.
Having said it seems like a DNS issue, I can't actually ping the router's IP address from the phone so perhaps it's not a DNS issue at all and it's not actually connected to the my router, despite appearing to be so.
I've checked the router logs and there are no obvious error messages in there which would explain this.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to things I can try?  I don't think it's reasonable to have to reboot either my phone or the router 4 or 5 times a day and it gets extremely irritating as I have to keep my phone near me for work, and me happens to be near my computer speakers so when it falls off the wifi, I'm constantly getting that irritating speaker interference!
    Many thanks,
    Emily.

I have a feeling this might be related - if I switch Data Services off in Mobile Network, I get exactly the same symptoms.  If I look at the DNS lookup tool from within 'Mobile Network' rather than the WiFi screen, it tells me that it doesn't have any DNS server addresses.
It looks as though my issues might be to do with losing data coverage (I tend to sit in an area which doesn't have great signal).  Surely the Curve 8900 should be able to maintain internet connectivity via Wifi even if there is no mobile data coverage?  I've seen that this should be possible as a solution when using the phone abroad - switch data off to avoid the higher charges, but still be able to use hotel wifi, etc.  Other users have reported being able to do this, but from what I can tell, my phone isn't able to work like this at the moment.
Any suggestions?  Or can anyone else at least confirm that they are able to use Wifi to get on the internet even with mobile Data Services switched off?
    Thanks,
    Emily.
[Edit] P.S. This would also explain why I couldn't get internet on my phone at all this morning despite rebooting both it and the router, as Vodafone were reporting voice, sms and internet network outages in the UK today

  • Intermittent Screen Layout Problem

I have an intermittent problem, so far reported by only a few users on Win XP and Mac systems.  Basically, I have a bunch of components inside a VBox, and the VBox is inside a WindowedApplication.  What's happening is that for just these few people, the VBox doesn't fill the window (it's height and width are set to 100%).  No clue why that is happening, or even what to play with to try to fix it.  I can't duplicate it on my machine and the app is huge, so I can't give you code, I need some things to try.
One thing I did try after reading through the forums was adding this line to the window:
    addedToStage="event.currentTarget.stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL"
That actually causes a similar behavior where the VBox doesn't fill the window.  May or may not be related, but I thought I'd mention it.
Here is a screen shot of what goes on:
The app is in Beta and can be downloaded here by registering:
    http://www.cnccookbook.com/CCGWizardE.html
There are various screen shots of what it's supposed to look like there too.
    Any thoughts appreciated.
    Best,
    BW

    Hi Bob,
I'm sorry I didn't notice this post before.  If you're still encountering problems, would you mind adding a new bug over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please include your app and sample code so we can reproduce the issue internally.  If you'd like to keep this private, feel free to email any attachments to [email protected] and I'll link them for internal use only.

  • Icon and menu "Ghosting" & intermittent startup display problems

    Hi all
My Ti is almost 7 years old. 90% of the time it sits on my desk - very rarely moved. Plenty of ventilation and in an air conditioned room.
I have a LG L1780Q digital 17 inch monitor which has been attached for the last two years. My desktop is spread across both screens.
Within the last three months a problem with the display began to present itself - initially it was very intermittent but now the problem is appearing daily.
everything on the desktop like icons and menu bars and dock icons become pasted with a Ghosting approximately twice the width of the icon. The mouse cursor also has a vertical pair of horizontal bars which move around with the cursor.
This problem never effects application windows at all. The bars attached to the cursor remain when hovered over the app - However the application content is not affected at all. So the problem exists only with "desktop" items.
The problem also manifests on both screens. About 50% of the time I can grab an application window with the mouse and drag it all over the desktops and this "wipes clean" the problem - a bit like an eraser. However, in the last couple of days even this doesn't help. 50% of the time a reboot may solve the problem but that too now is getting worse and worse. Also, occasionally on a reboot, instead of the user login window all i get is a series of broken whitish lines against the standard blue background - this is again across both screens. This is obviously the login screen but all scrambled.
Reading the posts here I'm beginning to fear that the dreaded "replace the logic board" phrase may come up
Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks.
I love my TiBook - please don't tell me it's dying

    Hi
    Many thanks for your advice.
First, of course you are correct - I bought the Ti in Jan 2003. It just seems like it's been with me forever!
In response to your suggestions this is what happened:-
Disconnected external monitor - problem still there.
Booted from original install DVD - problem still there.
I ran disk repair anyway - it found some errors with the catalog file entries, said it fixed them - problem still there as suspected.
Now the wierd thing - after Disk repair i rebooted from HD without the external monitor connected. After sitting watching the spinning grey wheelie thing on the grey start screen for an hour I decided to leave it and go to bed. I don't know what time it actually booted but an hour seems an inordinately long time?
After reboot - problem still there (pretty bad now).
When i reconnected my external monitor, it auto detected the digital feed, screen came on for a second and then went black. Powering the monitor off and on again produced exactly the same result. If I look closely i can just make out very faintly the desktop content on the blacked out external monitor - as though the backlight has failed! Powering off and on does the same thing every time - 1 second of full brightness and content then black!
    BOOHOO!!! is my Ti dying?
Unfortunately I don't have the Apple Hardware Test CD.
Should I sit down in anticipation of the verdict?
    many thanks

  • Powerbook G4 12" intermittent power up problems

Yesterday, the 12" Powerbook G4 (2.5 years old) went to sleep and then wouldn't wake up.
So I restarted it. It would attempt to start, make some noises, and then shut down again. No chime. Sometimes, it would chime and start correctly. Once started, it never seems to have any problem keeping running.
I thought maybe the battery is the problem because it is being recalled. I removed the battery, plugged in the power adapter. Same thing.
Do any of you have experience with this issue? Is it a known issue (like wear to some internal component causing intermittent shorts), or is it a PSU/inverter board problem that requires component replacement?
    Thanks for any insight.
    PPC7410

    Hi PPC7410,
    Two things you can try:
    1. Reset the Power Management Unit
    2. Insert the original PowerBook Restore DVD and hold down the option key while pressing the power button till you see a gray screen with a few harddrive icons. Select "Hardware Test" and follow the instructions to perform a full system check.
    Good luck!

HP G56 intermittent sound problem - e.g you tube/MP3 files play for 10 seconds then stop.  I have made sure that the latest sound driver is installed and this makes no difference. The laptop is new so there is no other software on it other than the pre-installed stuff operating on windows 7.  In sound options all looks well and the device is said to be working properly.  Even the sound test in device manager sometimes works and sometimes doesnt.

  • Handling of an intermittent disk fan problem by AppleCare

I have (or at least I am supposed to have) an iMac 27".
However since I received the system late November 2009 from the Apple Store I have problems with the system. First the hard disk (WD 1TB) had a constant rumbling. After having the machine for most of December in the Apple workshop the disk was replaced by an Hitachi 1TB without this problem. However during January/February after several days the disk fan all of a sudden started to blow continuously very loud without any reason (temperature according to iStat in range) at 4500 rpm. Also the fan would not return to normal cooling/noise level. Resetting the SMC did not help. During most of March the machine was back at the Apple repair shop where the disk was replaced again. However after starting to use the system several days passed and the fan started again to blow very loud. I called the Apple repairman to my home and he confirmed the problem. Machine again back to the Apple repair shop were it now stays for another three weeks. The problem has reappeared in the workshop after several days but the repairman is asked to perform several additional tests by AppleCare, requiring again a long wait for the machine to get into the intermittent problem.
Has anybody out there had similar experience with the iMac 27" and what has been your experience with AppleCare?
I have suggested that Apple replace the system but until now I have had no success and the machine has already staid more than 3 months of it's 5 months life at an Apple repair shop.

I have been in touch with customer relations as well but they were not helpful. In their opinion I should switch the machine off every night to avoid the problem...

  • Intermittent Print/Scan Problems with Canon MF8380Cdw on Wireless Network

For nearly a year now, I've experienced problems printing and scanning using the Canon MF8380Cdw on our network.  The most troubling are the intermitent problems getting the printer to respond during a print job after the device has been found on the network.  Less troubling but still annoying are the problems scanning: it's very difficult to initiate a scan job.  It usually requires trying to initiate the job from the printer AND from the computer in quick succession.  I have reinstalled drivers many times.  Why isn't printing and scanning effortless?
Print sequence messages in the Canon MF8300C Series print manager:
Printing - Looking for printer: takes a long time.
Printing - Connecting to printer: takes a long time.
Printing - The printer is not responding: takes a long time; indicates failure.
    Some information that may help:
The client software correctly identifies the printer's IP address.
The wirless router is an Apple Airport Extreme Basestation.

Canon MF8300C Series driver, version 10.0.0

Base station, laptop, and printer are all in the same corner of the same room--signal strength is not an issue. Have had problems, previously, when printer was connected to switch via ethernet.  So...  Nice thought, but I don't believe that's it.
Other things that didn't work: restarting printer, restarting computer.
Is it possible that OS updates mess with the driver, requiring reinstallation?  Our PC users do not seem to have these issues.
I am also using a non-UFR II driver this time, but per a suggestion from a forum, I tried UFR II previously.  I have read many forum exchanges involving Canon/Mac problems and have tried several solutions proposed by PAHU.
Reinstalled printer driver again today, and I can print again (for now), but it's an intermittent problem, likely to return.
    Thoughts?
