Yikes! That's a long wait travelerhj. We aren't able to get to these peer forums quickly, so I do hope you were able to get through to a representative. If you still need help, please let me know a little more about what you're looking for. Are you having trouble with calls? Are you hearing an error message? Where are you roaming?

  • Why do i need to wait on hold for 30 min and still no help

I pay entirely too much money to verizon to not get the help i need when ive been dealing with subpar tv service since i signed up 18 months ago.  My on demand has never worked.  I cannot view my channel listings on any of my tv's.  I cannot search tv shows.  My tv freezes up most of the time.  I am unable to record shows even though i have plenty of room on my DVR.    This is not what i expected for $150 a month.  I hate comcast but you are leaving me no choice but to cancel your service and go with your competition.  Get with the program or i will not only cancel your tv, but also my moibile service that i pay almost $200 a month for.

It was way worse than that.....after 43 minutes on hold, I was hung up on.  I called back, using the Order Now number.  Surprise! A rep answered in under 2 minutes.  Could he help me?  No!  He transferred me right back to the same phone tree where I waited on hold for another 45 minutes before a rep finally answered.  Apparently I have to have a tech come out on Friday.
Also, I would absolutely love to quit Verizon over this.  First, I will have to find an alternative and then I'm sure when I actually am able to quit, I'll get a big apology and how much they love me.
Take care of your customers Verizon.  Have you heard of Social Media?  Customer sentiment?  You should start thinking about that and deal with your customers issues promptly and politely.

  • I have been on hold for 55 minutes??!!!

    are they closed???!!!!

i received a bill today for $526.  i called 2 times, the first woman was putting me thru to the finance department, i went back in the loop.  the second woman i spoke to said i needed to contact my bank because they did not receive my payment made on 4/23 and that my bank would have to contact them to verify the payment.  i called my bank, they told me i needed the fax number of verizon and they would send them a proof of payment.  i called verizon back and was on hold for 64 minutes waiting for the billing department.  i called from a different line, got thru immediately and spoke to Michael.  When i asked michael to speak with a supervisor, he laughed at me and told me he was not going to waste his supervisor's time with my phone call???!!!!!!!  ARE THEY CRAZY????!!!!!  Is this the way customer service is supposed to treat people???!!!!  i am ready to have a stroke.

  • Why does this site have online chat when you can never actually chat - always "not available"?  I was trying to get a simple question answered without calling and being on hold for 10 minutes?

  • Trying to disconnect Xfinity Home Security - been on hold for 90 minutes.

I recently signed up for Xfinity Home Security, and the service has not worked well at all.  We have had technicians out to our house multiple times.  Also, I get errors all the time when trying to arm the system from my cell phone.  Additionally, it will report doors being open, when they are closed. I have been on hold for over 90 minutes, and they are trying to charge me a huge termination fee to stop the service.  I never signed an agreement or agreed to any terms verbally.  They added it on at the Xfinitity store and were not able to even give me a printed copy of the services.

    @tjg2015
I am sorry for the delay and your troubles. I have sent you a private message to assist you further.

  • On hold for 38 minutes on apple care with no help!!

I bought my iphone 5 S from India on Nov 17 2012. For last 4 weeks it is shutting down unexpectedly . Now the battery is swelling up and breaking the case.
I now live in Johannesburg and took this to apple store in Centurion Mall, Sandton City and The Palace. No one was ready to support as phone was not bought in South Africa. (In fact staff in Sandton City was extremely rude, if i face any similar staff , I would rather throw apple in dustbin once and for ever. ) I even went to Vodacom care shop . No one was able to help me.
Finally I called +1-800-694-7466 in US , I was on call for 38 minutes with 2 different ladies and talk time was only 4-5 min  (I think they dont get it that it is an international call) .  They kept on inssting that this can be fixed in India . What I need help is :
    1) How to contact apple in email so that they understand my issue.
    2) What will it take to have APPLE honor its warranty.
    3) What are the options,
BTW, I called again and after 5 minutes was able to connect and again drop. Furrustating !!!!

Apologies but this is the lamest resolution!
You are asking me to go back to India for getting service for a device
    1. In warranty and not performing - likely manufacturing defect
    2. Sells same product in several countries including where I am .
Are we talking about product of a local grocery store or a global company ?
Worst of all , there are no directions , I have visited stores , spent time on website , called contact centre and now am posting this. If there is a mailing address than I can mail this in.
Company has to provide an alternate, if this means paying some money to South Africa store to either fix or send it to India store, even that will be OK .
I am hoping that someone from Apple will look at this post and will help me. I will continue to post this to all social media posts and pages related to Apple ( and executives) till some one gets embarrassed enough to resolve a genuine issue and not give me an advise ..... Go back to India ( which by the way sounds racist comment also)

  • SAP Freeze for 30 minutes

    Dear gurus,
In our SAP production environment, SAP frequently hold for some minutes, ranging from 10 to 30 minutes.
When that happens, no users can logged onto SAP System (Waiting for system response in SAP Logon).
When that happen, I can't do anything except restarting SAP Server.
We rarely do an update record nor an intensive report program when that happened,
Where can I check the initial problem for this?
    For information,
Our system running on AIX 5.2 Oracle 10.0.2.0 with 16GB Memory (SAP ECC 6.0).
    The Detail:
    Buffer size:
    ABAP Programs: 900000 KB
    Nametab: 89996 KB
    Generic key table: 97657 KB
    Single key table: 90000 KB
    CUA information: 10000 KB
    Screens: 19532 KB
    No of Work Process:
    Dialog: 25
    Update (V1): 6
    Update (V2): 3
    Enqueue: 1
    Background: 3
    Spool: 4
Initial / max. swap requirement: 11154 MB / 13062 MB.
Even when the users is only 5, the memory could drop to only 200MB in the server (as in ST06).
I do not know what consume the high memory.
Also, when I go to DB02, an see the space, it shows blank record.
That is, the used space, total DB size, is 0. I have checked that SAPOSCOL is running.
    Thanks for gurus help.
    Regards,

    Hi Bobby
There could be more than one issues in your system.
    > no users can logged onto SAP System (Waiting for system response in SAP Logon).
When this happens, check ORAARCH directory under SAPDATA_HOME. If this directory is full, database goes to dormat state and until and unless this directory is free ( free space is there) database wont allow any user to get it.
What is the frequency of your archive log job?  Check https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/391
    >Even when the users is only 5, the memory could drop to only 200MB in the server
Could you find any reason of this high memory consumption from OS level, you can check the PID from there and then from sm50 you can check which program is using maximum meory. Also check from ST02 what is the number of swapping for important buffers , like program buffer. What are the values of "Commit charge limit Kb" and "Commit charge free  Kb" from ST06 when you see this memory bottleneck?
    >Also, when I go to DB02, an see the space, it shows blank record.
Run RSORAT0D report and then check again. Clickking Rfresh on the DB02 first screen will run this report for you or else you can run it from SA38 or se38 directly

  • Misrepresentation of International Roaming Capabilities of GoPhone. Intentional?

I filed the following fraud complaint today with the US Federal Trade Commission. (Text appears below my email signature.)
I would perhaps not have filed the complaint if I did not go through the SAME process of research today, asking AT&T about the International Roaming capabilities of the GoPhone—as if I were intending to purchase the phone today. In actual fact, I made the purchase back in February….. six months ago. What I found today was that I was given the SAME mis-information as last time, leading me to believe that the phone could be used for International roaming.
It’s hard to know for sure, but given that six months have passed since my initial purchase, it appears that AT&T is INTENTIONALLY misleading customers regarding the roaming capabilities of the GoPhone. It’s likely, if not certain, that you do provide the correct information elsewhere on your web site; however, you effectively hide this from the consumer. Unless they spend lots of time scouring your web site (which is not a reasonable expectation), or unless they know EXACTLY what questions to ask, they would not discover the GoPhone’s limitations prior to purchase.   (By the way:  Various references made on the web site referring to Canada and Mexico do not make sense unless and until you understand that these are the ONLY two countries where International Roaming applies.   Then, it all becomes clear...  but why would I even think that?
I have also discovered another consumer practice of yours which I consider to be deceptive. This one is not as serious, but it’s annoying nevertheless, and I hate to be made to feel like a fool: When I discovered 4 or so months ago that my MotoG GoPhone was locked, I applied online for an “unlock code”, and was turned down… learning only then that there was a six-month waiting period. I then contacted AT&T and spoke to a live representative to explain that I NEEDED the phone to be unlocked immediately. She took my information and cheerfully and confidently told me that I would be sent the requested “unlock information” within a few days. A few days later, what I actually received was another rejection, telling me that the phone had not yet been in use for six months. I thought there must have been some misunderstanding, as she seemed so confident I would be sent the unlock code…. so I (insanely) repeated the process, with the same EXACT outcome. (Same cheery, positive response with all the gratuitous “politeness”, followed by a rejection).
Today, I went through the same exact request with a live agent, just to see what would happen, and she cheerily and confidently told me I would be sent my unlock code within a few days. There were no “Maybes”; no caveats. I don’t yet know for sure the results of today’s test, but frankly, I am expecting the same rejection…. because although it’s now been 6 months since I’ve owned the phone, I happen to have spent 6 weeks in Saudi Arabia, where the phone was useless to me. Thus, of the 6 months, it’s been in use with AT&T for only 4-1/2.
I believe (although I cannot prove) that the live agent KNEW in advance that my application would be rejected, but rather than telling me that (and having to deal with potentially unpleasant consequences), she deceptively led me to believe my application would be accepted.
I find this sort of consumer deception shameful. I have wasted HOURS of my valuable time trying to get truthful, accurate information from AT&T, and in the end, I had a phone that COULD NOT BE USED for the purpose for which I purchased it. What’s more, my strong feeling that AT&T should be held accountable for this deception led me to waste another 2 hours today filing a complaint with the FTC.
This is all the more frustrating to me because before this all started, I had an older UNLOCKED Samsung GoPhone from AT&T that suddenly stopped working, and I had to purchase the Moto G as a replacement. Having had the Samsung, however, did me no good. I thought I did my “homework” before buying the Moto G, but you were able to pull the wool over my eyes. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. (That’s the little witticism that former President George W. Bush muffed during a press conference, except that in my case, I don’t think it’s funny at all, especially because you’ve been able to fool me REPEATEDLY.)
I don’t know what will result from my FTC complaint, but I hope that one way or the other you will provide accurate, factual, and COMPLETE information to your customers, who deserve the truth, the WHOLE truth, and nothing but the truth.
And you might also want to consider the effect of these sorts of shenanigans on customer loyalty. Let me give you a little hint: It’s not good. Please do not provide links to the correct information, as if this were a mistake on MY part. I did my best, and unfortunately, so did you.
Sincerely Yours, TRANSCRIPT OF AT&T Chat.  [Note: I replaced the Agent's name with "AT&T", because I do not feel it's their fault, and would not want them to be implicated.  Many times in such matters, it's the person low on the totem pole who gets the blame.  This strikes me as a "marketing strategy", which is done all the time in sales. ]   AT&T: Welcome to AT&T Chat. While we connect you to an agent, please share how we can help you today? Me: I have a question regarding Motorola Moto G GoPhone.... It says that it is Quad GSM bands "World Phone". I travel internationally, and want to be sure if I buy this phone, I can use it internationally. AT&T: Hello, this is _______ with AT&T! I'll be happy to help you today. May I ask who I have the pleasure of chatting with? Me: My name is Jeffrey L AT&T: Jeffrey you will be able to use this device international Me: That's good. Can you explain to me how this would be done? AT&T: Let me get that information for you. Would you mind holding a moment as I do that? Me: I will wait. AT&T: It's a world phone which means anywhere in the world you will be able to use. You will need a international plan Me: How do I get an international plan? AT&T: Will this be for a GoPhone Account or a regular account? Me: Well... This is GoPhone we are discussing... so I suppose it would be a GoPhone account. I don't have a regular account. In any case, it would be for this specific MotoG phone.] AT&T: To see all of the GoPhone international options, please Click Here. AT&T: To get started, please click on the device of your choice and then click “Add to Cart”. I will guide you through the checkout process and will be here to answer any questions you may have. Me: No... I think that's enough information for right now. I will make the purchase later. Thank you, though. AT&T: You are Welcome! Have a Great Day! AT&T: Thank you for visiting ATT.com today. Thank you for chatting with us today.  The agent has left this conversation. For further questions, please click the chat button located on the right side of the screen.

My conscience is clear. My inquiries were made in good faith. I simply was not given full and complete information. Both the phone itself, as advertised for sale by AT&T, as well as the Go Phone service itself, promise the ability to use the phone internationally. If you think the fact that the phone works in Canada and Mexico satisfies this nuanced wording, that's just lame. The international dialing code for Canada is +1, for crying out loud.... same as the USA.
I couldn't use the phone with another SIM, because it was locked,... Which it does not say, unless you go to the page for how to unlock the phone, which you'd never even know to do until you discover that it's locked. (DearCustomer, Ha-ha! Gotcha! --Fondly, Your Friends at AT&T).
And what you said is simply FALSE! The page the Chat Agent referred me to led me to a description of international roaming for non-Go Phones, where it shows all the countries in the world where AT&T provides their overpriced roaming services. But you can't subscribe to these services with the Go Phone, which it does NOT say. This was NEVER made clear. (DearCustomer, Ha-ha! Gotcha again!).
I appreciate when you get a brand new phone for free, or at substantially reduced price when signing a contract, this justifies the phone being locked. This is not the case for the Motorola Moto G. I could have bought an unlocked version cheaper at other sources. I ordered it from AT&T just for convenience, never suspecting it was locked.
I approached this transaction in good faith, believing I was getting the information I needed, and believing I could use the phone internationally. The Go Phone and service may make a lot of sense for domestic customers, but touting it as providing international roaming is deceptive. I find it a bit difficult to believe you are defending this practice by blaming and attacking the victim (that is to say, me!).
Well... Live and learn. In this case it was a costly lesson for me.

  • Using Whatsapp  to call incurred international roaming charges

Please permit me to introduce myself
    Account Number: [removed]
    Executive summary:
I used an Iphone App called Whatsapp that allows users to exchange online messages and even calling. I used that app to make an app to app call to a friend in India.
And I was shocked to see that Verizon has billed all the talk time to international roaming and the bill is a HUGE amount close to $775
    Issue in detail
    Total minutes talked - 296
Billed - $775+ (at international roaming rate $2.30/minute)
    Please consider the following facts
-I used Whatsapp to talk to Iphone app to app call
-I had called same Whatsapp number in india
-A few times all happened with in a month/same billing cycle
-First time it happened in my history with Verizon
-I don't have  international plan so I did not know my cell phone can make international calls through Verizon (Have never made one via cell phone/verizon)
-I have no way of knowing that this is being charged to my account until I see the bill (I saw and reported this within a week of the ebill date)
-The app clearly says this //Using WhatsApp while your phone is connected to Wi-Fi should not incur charges from your carrier. Please note that some Wi-Fi networks may have charges or usage fees.//
    http://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/iphone/20970433
Please consider the following as a LOYAL verizon customer
    - 15 year LOYAL verizon mobile customer (customer since 2000 since I landed in the US)
    - Never left Verizon , not even once
    - Always paid my bill on time (automatic payments)
    - Have converted MANY customers from other carriers to Verizon
In this background I would humbly request you to put yourself in my shoes and see this issue as a mistake/software glitch which I had no way of knowing until I see the bill.
I request you to do the needful to see it as what it is , a mistake , that was not done by me but a software of which I have no knowledge of.
Being a long standing LOYAL Verizon customer , I beseech you to do the right thing and reverse all the charges related this incident.
Following is the log of my efforts to work with Verizon customer support
Dates called April 5th 1 hr
    April 6 - 4 hrs
    Ian did the right thing
He converted the calls to regular international long distance from 2.39/min to 29 cents a minute , convenience plan.
I agreed and he said its waiting on supervisor's approval which is 24 hrs.
I called again April 7 I was told it might take 48 to 42 hrs
I called again on April 10 and I was told the supervisor did not approve.
I spoke to many and finally reached Ms.Brooke  who introduced herself as the top most supervisor in the building (Employee [removed],Kentucky call center)

    Hi JJKAY,
The EXACT same thing took place for my wife. She used the WhatsApp to make calls and it ended up going to a number in Turkey. Verizon sent NO Alerts at all that this would be International charge OUTSIDE of our International calling plan.
My wife made calls using the SAME app to Mexico and it went through without charges.
We have also been customer for numerous years.
I called Verizon to see how this occurred and got the technical folks, who first told me as they told you, they could change to the Global plan and then pay a reduced $/min. However, then the supervisor stepped in and would not approve.
Verizon seems to think they have no responsibility to send ALERTS or allow for ALERTS when it goes well beyond the ordinary.
Did you get Verizon to provide a credit as a customer?
I would like to know, as I am about to switch and then make this a case of Verizon and show how much they care about customer retention. Thanks in advance.

  • Activating Japan Sim Free Iphone While on International Roaming

I am based from the Philippines and bought my sim-free iPhone6 Plus via online Apple Store and had it shipped to a Japan address. I will be going to Japan next month to spend my vacation and will get my iPhone as well. I understand that a sim free iPhone will be locked to the first sim that you will insert into it. I would like to ask for answers on the ff:
1.If I use my local sim (PI based) and activate my iPhone while on international roaming, will that lock my phone to my local sim and use it like a normal phone when I get back home?
    2. Is phone activation while on international roaming recommended or will I need to wait until I get back home so I use the local signal?
    Thanks!

I am in the same situation so i asked a friend from japan (also Filipino) and she said that only the Apple store online sells SIM free/openline iPhones. Apple store only provide Japan locked iPhones (daw)

  • International Roaming Canada?

I have a blackberry smartphone 8300 series- is there a way to tell if i am on international roaming? do you know if you have the national plan- i am going to Niagara Falls but staying on the Canadian side- is that really considered international even though i am less than three miles from the border? just want know how i can tell and if anyone knows the answer. thanks

You are right to be nervous.  It's easy to rack of hundreds or even thousands of dollars if you're not careful.
Data roaming should be off by default, but to check, go to:
Settings->General->Cellular, turn Data Roaming to OFF
Impress on her the importance of keeping it OFF!!!
IF she *must* turn roaming on, tell her to first go to
Settings->General->Usage->Cellular Usage->Reset to reset the usage to keep track of how much she uses
10 Mb is very little, and above all do NOT use cellular data to transfer photographs!  Most hotels will have WiFI and nternet cafes, etc are plentiful in Europe, so she just has to wait a short time to catch up on FaceBook.
Check your usage online.  If your carrier is AT&T, you'll have the opportunity to *retroactively* sign up for a bigger data package if she goes over.  If Canada is like the US, out of plan usage is *$20 per megabyte*.
"Airplane mode" turns off both Cellular and WiFi.  This is under the assumption that these can interfere with airplane navigation - unless WiFi is available for a fee on the plane, in which case it's perfectly safe
In any event, it wil save some battery power during the flight.

  • How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?

How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?
Several times in the last year, I've gotten a message that Time Machine needs to completely redo my backup. Using the wireless connection, this takes almost two days. Is there a way to do the backup with ethernet and then switch back to wireless? Thanks.

May I know what is needed to make sure the MacBook is able to see Time Capsule on ethernet?
Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire gateway to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the Time Capsule.
If AirPort Utility cannot "see" the Time Capsule now, you will need to perform a "hard reset" by holding in the reset button for 7-8 seconds or so and then reconfigure the Time Capsule. You can use the same Time Capsule name and password, etc. as before.
Configure the Time Capsule to "Create a wireless network" and select the Bridge Mode option when it appears during the setup using AirPort Utility.
Once the Time Capsule is configured, restart the entire network again. Power down everything, start the 2Wire first and then start each other device after that one at a time about a minute apart.
Now you can connect your Mac directly to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule for the backup using another Ethernet cable. In general, about 20-25 GB per hour will transfer.
The Time Capsule will broadcast a much faster wireless network than the 2Wire can provide, so you might want to leave the setup "as is" for awhile after the first backup is complete. If you decide to use the Time Capsule as your main wireless access point, you would want to turn the wireless off on the 2Wire since two wireless networks in close proximity can create interference problems.
Or, if you want to use the wireless on the 2Wire, you could turn off the wireless on the Time Capsule. Then backups will occur over the 2Wire wireless, or over Ethernet.
I don't really recommend the "Join a wireless network" setting on the Time Capsule for most users, but you could go back to that setup as well if you want after the first backup is complete.
