Invnetory Upload - Post Automatically - Inventory Recon Account

Hi, We are trying to change the status of the GL Master, by checking the box meant for "Post Automatically" for a GL Inventory Recon Account. However, the system gives an error message and does not allow to save, the error message is "'Post auto. only' and 'Recon.acct for acct type' cancel each other out".
If we do not check the "Post Automatically" we are not able to upload the Inventory. Can anyone help as to how can we make the change in the GL Master and make it Post Automatically?
Regards

Hi Jurgen,
Thanks for the prompt response. The problem was solved as per the advice of one of our FI friends. To share with you, it was required to keep the space meant for 'Recon Account' blank in the GL Master, under the control data tab. Then by checking "Post Automatically" the system allows to save.
Thanks once again for the contribution.

  • How to upload trial balance when recon accounts wont allow direct postings

    hi,
i would like to upload trial balance figures but i am not able to upload the figures for recon accounts since it wont allow direct postings. how to overcome this problem? any idea?

    Hello Raja,
Under normal circumstances, uploading of GL balances is done as below
    - take the closing trial balance
    - create a control account in SAP
    - Create a JV to transfer debits to respective GL accounts in SAP and credit the clearing account
-Create another JV for all credits.
    - For customers/ vendors / asset balances use seperate method. Create first the reconciliation GL master record in SAP.
    - Check the recon account entry in all the master record.
    - now create invoices and the recon account is automatically updated.
    - lastly make sure the clearing account balance is zero

  • Freight Charges posted to vendor Recon., Account

    Dear All,
Issue is regarding the freight charges borne by the company.
As we treat freight forwarder as vendor, and enter vendor at sales order level.
However, how to make the posting of this freight charges to vendor reconciliation account.
If any inputs required do revert back.
Inputs will be of great help and rewarded too.
    with regards,
    Vijayashree

    Hi,
Is you people using the transportation module?, if your using then freight cost is posted through shipment cost document as a liability in vendor account automatically.
But in case of transportation module is not using then
    1.  Create Freight condition type and activate the condition type as accrual condition.
    2. Maintain Account key in pricing procedure for Freight condition.
    3. Do the VKOA setting
    4. During the order creation, assign the vendor in header assignment or reference field of sales order
    5. Freight condtion is determined if you maintain conditon record automatically or maintain manually
    6. During the billing document, system creates the liability in the system as a accrual entry.
    7. Vendor number is visible in FBL3N, FBL1N if we store in assignment or reference fireld of header.
    8. Run FBL3N with accrual GL Account, system shows the liabilities which are due for a particular vendor.
Please consult with your FI Consultant further more to do the process.
    Rewards if it helps

Goto TCode OBYC and check transaction key of FR1 and FR2 and enter Vendor Reconciliation GL account here.
However i am strongly recommending FI guy to involve in this process of changing the GL Account.

  • Recon Account Posting

    Hi
We have a customer requirement where customer wants to post the the recon account through condition type while billing.
These recon accounts are made assigned in VKOA. While billing it is giving error that recon account can't be directly posted to.
As far as I know Recon account can't be directly posted to. It is standard SAP behaviour.
But client is insisting that "To create GL indicator. To assign to this GL indicator the recon account. Then to create the mechanism to allow assigning the required GL indicator to the Condition Type.  Then, in case an invoice with discounts condition type is generated and posted to a customer, where the relevant account with the type of the Reconcilliation account will be identified by the indicator given in  ZRU4 and ZRU8 Gl"
So my question is that is it possible. If yes how..?
    Regards
    Neeraj Bhardwaj

    Hi neeraj,
Try to enable  the setting Recon.acct ready for input in create/Bank/Interest tab for the particular reconcilation account which is made to assign in VKOA.
Note: On the other hand Reconciliation Accounts are only mean for posting by the System, but when you select the "Recon. account ready for input", it would become like a normal account, it will allow you to post directly, this would invalidate the integrity of the data. Therefore, you should never put the check box Reconciliation Account ready for input for RECONCILIATION accounts.

  • Recon Accounts assignment while creating a new GL Account

    Hey everybody,
I was wondering if there is any global rule to which accounts should be selected as Recon A/c while creating a GL master in fs00. From my point of understanding the only Recon A/c's are Accounts Receivable as recon account :Customer and Accounts Payable as recon account: Vendor! So in which situation do we select Recon account : Asset or Recon account: Contract Account Receivable?
If you could please help me figure this out, I would greatly appreciate.
    Thanks in advance.

General ledger is the main accounting record of a business which uses double-entry bookkeeping. In SAP, the central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture for external accounting and accounts. Reconciliation Accounts are G/L accounts that receive postings from a subsidiary ledgers. Meaning, transactions data are not posted directly to recon accounts. Example of recon accounts are Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets G/L. For accounts receivable G/L the subsidiary ledger is the customer account. All transactions with the customers are posted directly to the customer account and the recon account is automatically updated. How this thing happen? Well, when you create a customer account you specify under the Company Code data the reconciliation account.

    Hi,
In this screen what are all the GL's you get, those GL's are Recon accounts.
Due to legacy balances uploading purpose sombody removed recon accounts from here.
check which GL account hitted for your transaction, for that GL account you can set recon account type ASSET & save it.

  • GL Master -Open Item Management, Post Automatically

    Hi All,
    Hear I have a question.
    A) Why should we select either 1.Openitem Management 2.Post Automatically or bouth to a G/L Master.
    OR
    B) In which situation we have to select either 1.Openitem Management 2.Post Automatically or bouth  a  the time of creating any  G/L Master.
    Thanku

    Hi,
    1. Open Item Managed account means there will be matching debits anbd credits in a GL Accounts which can be cleared. For example GR/IR clearing account is an open item managed account. The Goods receipt documents are to be cleared with invoice receipt documents.
    2. Post Automatically menas manual entries are not permitted, Entries get posted through FI - MM/SD integration. For example when a billing document is posted in SD an accounting entry to Revenue / Customer are posted automatically. Revenue account is set up as auto posting only and this will ensure that SD and FI values always match.
Example of Open Item managed and Post automatically is GR/IR clearing account.
    Thanks

  • Good Receipt is posted to price variance account instead of Inventory account

    Dear All,
My client have a PO with three materials. All those materials have been assigned to same valuation class. Client has posted GR for this PO and one material has been recorded a misbehavior when selecting the accounts. That mean, it has been ignored the inventory account and instead value has been posted to price variance account. So the debit entry in price variance and credit entry in GR/IR.
But other two material has the automatic posting to correct account as Debit to Inventory and Credit to GR/IR.
Could you pls help me to find the reason for this.
    Regards
    Sujith

    Dear Vivek and Dev,
Attached herewith the screenprint of Accounting view of the two material. Material 300000075 has the correct posting while material 300000028 has recorded incorrect posting

  • FS00-Recon.Account - Direct Posting-How to know

    Gurus,
In FS00, how do we know any account is allowed direct posting or not.
No direct posting means, recon account.
Scenario is - Depreciation run is notifying error saying
    <b><i>11A     Account 202050 is not a reconciliation account</i></b>
    Please suggest solution.
    Points available

    Hi,
In GL master data we have a field of reconciliation account. we have to set that relevant recon for that field ( ex customer, vendor /asset) based on what recon is that GL account. So we cannot post directly to that particular account when it is set as recon. customer reconciliation accounts  gets posted automatically when you Dr/Cr the customer Similarly vendor and assets…
Post automatically check box is used for those accounts which automatically gets posted example GR/IR account which is used in account determination for posting of Goods issue.
    Assign points if useful

  • Change Recon account settings to allow initial GL bal upload

    Hi All,
I am trying to upload initial GL balances but hitting issues with AP accounts. These accounts are Recon accounts hence do not allow me to post (which is correct) initial balance thru FB01. I had same issue with recon accounts for Assets but was able to make a temporary change in the settings in FS00, but this change doesnt work for AP recon accounts. Please help me asap.

    Sameer,
What are you looking to actually accomplish?  In most implementations, the initial load of the AP Reconciliation account is only accomplished by creating the open items that make the open balance through AP Documents (Invoices) at the vendor level.  Therefore, no direct GL entries are necessary.
Depending on how you are loading the GL balances for those accounts that offset the liability, e.g. expenses, you would have to back out those amounts out of the GL balance so that you would be in total balance.  Otherise, the best approach is to use a "Balance Load Clearing Account" which acts as the offset to the liability.  This account is then typically used as the balancing entry to the GL Balances load and should zero out if all goes well.
With more clarity, I might be able to give more assistance.

  • Unusual Error in G/L account creation because of "Post Automatically only"

    Hi,
While creating G/L account, I am facing typical Error. Please find below sequence of activities I did.
    1) Given G/L account number and company code on first pop Up
    2) Went to Create/Bank/Interest Tab and gave Field status group
    3) Came to Type/Description tab and given account group
    4) Came back to Create/Bank/Interest tab.
    5) Now I am not able to change tab. If i click on any tab, it gives message "Fill in all required entry fields" and this is coming because I didn't check marked the "Post Automatically only" tab.
If I check mark the  "Post Automatically only" tab, i am able to move across tab and error message doesn't comes.
As per my requirement, I do not wish to check mark the  "Post Automatically only" tab.
Why Error is coming? What should i do?
    Thanks,
    Raju

    Hi,
The field status of G/L accounts are controlled at two places,
    1) At account group level, (check for the particular account group whether this field has been made mandatory or not)
    2) At the transaction level, (here transaction does not mean the regular FI document transactions... but the create G/l, Change G/l, Display G/l through FS00 each activity is called as a transaction with regard to the master data maintenance here also when you create the G/L accounts the field status need to be checked if it is made mandatory or not.
The field status of any field in the G/l master would be the compound setting of both the above areas.. and the ranking order logic would be SDRO  - Suppress, Display, Required and Optional.
If in either of the places 1) or 2) if the field status is made Suppress in one and Optional in the other then Suppress prevails... similarly other combinations too work.
    Please check and revert.
    Cheers,
    Rajan.
