Iphone 3gs freezes after updating
my son has reset his iphone 3gs from the phone settings, i have not got a clue what OS version was on it, it was reset because his sister borrowed it and put a load of girlie music on it, now it just sits with apple logo and a frozen timer, there is a thin white line about a centimetre down on the screen running from the center to about a centimetre from the right side of the sceen, unit then shuts down and then restarts only to do the same thing again, wont show in i tunes version 5.0, was in perfect working order untill this issue, anyone know how to sort this out, Help please
I am having the same issues with my 3gs. It is constantly crashing whenever i run any apps for more than 3 to 5 minutes. I have reinstalled and backed up everything but it is still having issues.

IPhone 3GS freezes after 4.3 upgrade
2 days ago I upgraded my iPhone 3GS (factory unlocked) from 4.2.1 to 4.3. After this upgrade, the iPhone freezes and crashes constantly. Sometimes when typing the lock code, when starting any given app, when touching any button, everytime within one minute after restoring. When the phone is working, it gets no network (just WLAN). Provider is Vodafone.
After each crash, a full restore is required (which takes a lot of time), just to work for another minute or so. Using a different SIM card from O2 helps by not crashing, but all 3rd party apps do not work.
Going back to 4.2.1 did not work at all (tried all options), going back to 4.1 did not give me access to my backup.
This situation is a nightmare if you rely on your phone. And it seams I am not the only one having this issue. Just search for "iOS 4.3 3GS crash Vodafone".
When can I expect a patch of iOS 4.3 ?

Iphone 3GS freezing after last update with iOS 4.1
I updated my iphone last month and started having problems.
Iphone get freez multiple times a day, I nnede to hard boot it all the time.
Screen flicker in size, letter are cutting on the margines.
As soon as I opens any application the picture slightly zoom in and then zoom out once by itself. I have to wait for few seconds to get screen scroll.
I am not sure what happening.
I have reset teh iphone multiple time.
Any help please?

IPhone 3GS freezes when updating iOS
Every time I attempt to update to the latest iOS my phone freezes up and I cannot get it to shut down or access the menu. The Apple icon and status bar are displayed, but the status bar is empty and never progresses. When I plug the phone in, iTunes says it is downloading the files, then tells me to save purchased items to my Library. After that, I get error messages. Any suggestions, other than throwing it in the parking lot and running over it with my car?
A bit more info: when the phone freezes, it has the iTunes logo plus a cable end plus arrow. The computer no longer sees the iphone. Pressing the sleep and home button together does not solve the problem, however long one holds them. The only solution is to go to an Apple store where they reset to factory settings.

Hi. It seems people have been having some troubles with the new 3.1.2 software update. So have I.
I just got my new 3GS and was thrilled to start using it. When I installed iTunes to unlock the phone I was recommended to do an upgrade. "Of course" I thought.
The upgrade failed. (Code 1604.)
I tried following these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 (and, yes, I actually followed the steps exactly - except from the contacting apple part).
The problem remains. Is there something wrong with the new software?
I just freaking unwrapped the phone! It's barely a few hours old. (The few hours I've been trying to solve the problem is the few hours it has been used.) Should I run it over with my bike or just slam it to the floor?
Ok, I could just leave it to an Apple dealer but that takes time. I want this sucker to work right now.. I haven't even tried it out.
Got any advice?Ah, nevermind. This problem was actually fixed with another computer. I tried three different computers with the same results. The fourth did the trick though.

iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences(PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.

I don't know if restoring as a new phone will fix it, but you have nothing to lose. You can restore as a new phone, check it out, then restore your backup later (as long as you don't sync the restored phone).

i have an iphone 4 and after updating it to the ios5 software, it will not allow me to activate nor allow me to leave the setup page. i plugged it into itunes and it is stuck there too... i cannot even restore it. does anyone know what to do?
I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

iPod freezes after updating to software version 1.2!!! After installing version 1.2 the "do not disconnect" screen took forever to disappear, so i just removed the cables and it still remained
like that, i restarted it manually, but now it's getting stuck when the apple logo appears...i reset it and when i finnally turns on, and i'm at the language tab, it freezes. can anyone help.!?Apple just released firmware 1.2.1 for the ipod, you should try restoring your iPod again with that.
