IPhone 4s- Frustrated with AT&T

I'm so frustrated. I preordered my iphone 4s through the att store location on October 7. And i still do not have my iphone 4s. The att customer rep first got my address wrong and had to cancel and reenter into the systerm at 5:45 that night. i would have had it preordered at 11:45. My att order status still says it is "backordered" and pending shipment. I am so frustrated with att. You would think by their 3rd iphone launch they would have smoothed out the launch process and have got it right.
I thought when you preorder an item, you reserve an iphone so that you can buy it before the rest of the world can get it. then when preorders run out you have to wait till release day. Not the case with att.
att is not very professional.
anyone else having trouble with at&t?

Hi. The customer representative said i would get it friday. Not on thursday. On friday. Then after i placed my oder i received the email confirmation saying 14-21 days. If i would have known ahead of time that the preorder item would take so long.  I would have waited and just walked in to a store. There is sort of a idea that the reason you preorder an iphone through apple or att or anyone else you reserve a phone so u can get one before everyone else. That is why you preorder 7 days in advance. Now people that did not sign up for a preorder can just walk in store and pick one up. Also why does att use terminology like "backordered" and not give a more accurate delivery time. Why does everyone that preorders say a 14-21 wait day estimate. Even people that received their iphone orders already, who had to preorder on 10-7, their email still said 14-21 days. Not 7 days like it actually took. I know i will never prorder like this. If i preorder i will preorder from apple or just get in store. .

okay. when i connected my iphone 5 to itunes it replaced all of the data from my old iphone 3gs (contacts, apps, notes, bookmarks, photos, music, everything you can possibly think of) with my new iphone 5's data. I am so frustrated with this. Why? and it did it by itself, i didnt touch anything, or clicked anything. please help me this is urgent! I am a businessman and need my contacts.

You're iPhone was probably set to automatically sync with your iTunes upon plugging it in. Best option is to restore from a backup, either on iCloud or your computer.

No, I wouldn't.  At worst, I might sigh, then start troubleshooting the issue.
This is a technical support forum, not an emotional support forum.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
    Here are some:
Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

I have continuously over the last 6 months struggled with syncing my iphone and ipod with itunes  The app continually crashes during the picture import.  AND by the way it takes 10-15 minutes before it even attempts to import photos.  The screen says importing photoes but doesnt try to optimize or anything for 10 minutes.  I have a 3gs with 16Gb so its not a cheap phone.  I have 10Gb free.  I have 6600 photoes.  This is very frustrating and undermines my confidence in your products.  My ipod is an ipod 4 with 16Gb also.  It does the exact same thing to it.  The last time, I had to import photoes a few at the time and with it taking 10-15 minutes each time for 6600 photos it is a long frustrating process.  But it will import every photo a few at a time.  The error message is just that itunes has stopped working.  no hint as to why. AND of course, my phone is out of use for the entire time.  You guys must not want to believe ur phones are a necessary tool...or maybe you dont want the consumer to believe it is.  I have tried to find solutions on your website as well as through other 3rd party communities.  Ultimately they were of no use.  I stumbled onto my solution by accident since Im a bit of a computer geek...a semi-geek.

I have this issue too, I went into my Windows event viewer. (should have looked at this a year ago when this started)

basically whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4G 64GB it crashes iTunes when it begins the pictures. if im lucky ill get 4-5 on there before it stops responding. its not my system or anything im running win7x64 8GB DDR3 ram (Corsair XMS3) AMD FX Eight core processor.
It is silly that iTunes cannot add pictures to apple devices. it shatters whatever incline I may have to buy apple products. knda like the Airport Extreem router my dad bought the new firmware, caused my router to not function... why release firmware that breaks a product. -_- <-- off topic but still

  • 4 iphone users each with own itunes acct

we have 4 iphone users in the house.  4 authorized computers. (though we only have 3 computers in the home-the other authorized pc is dead) seems to be that to get my music that I d/l on the mac to itunes I need to erase and sync my phone as it's associated with another itunes library.  so I purchased some songs on the imac and can't get them to my iphone.  same deal with my husbands phone.  Problem is back in the day he synched his phone with another computer.  we purchased a new imac and he synched with the imac.  he wants to get all of his previous stuff from itunes(books and such) but it also says his iphone is associated with another itunes library and you need to erase and sync and it will be replaced with the current itunes library.  (same situation for me) if we do that, we lose a ton of stuff(music , books, apps, etc...) what's the best way to approach this??  we really don't want to erase and sync-and the other computer that he first synched to-is no longer working, it's dead.  So would he have to erase and start over and repurchase things he purchased 3 years ago??  Very frustrating.

Home Sharing might solve your problems, take a look at this article: iTunes: Understanding Home Sharing
You can also share your library over the network if you have different accounts, see this article iTunes: How to share music and video

  • Frustrated with lack of help!

I up graded my phone to an iphone 5c.  I received it yesterday and call the 800# to activate my phone.  During the phone call I was transferred to customer service because my phone was unable to activated.  I was on hold for 30 mins and the customer service rep told me there was nothing she could do manually I would have to call the 800#.  I did this 3 times, each time told the same thing!   Finally the 4th time I told the rep I needed to speak to a manager and he informed me the manager wasn't available and to call tech support.  So my 5th phone call to Verizon I spoke to a girl in tech support who was able to tell why my phone wasn't unable to be activated.  the SIM card that was preinstalled was never registered and I would have to go to a Verizon store to get one.  Here's my problem again, I leave in a rural western pa.  I called my local store and they told me I would have to buy a SIM card because they are not a corporate store!  The closets corporate store is 1 hour away.  I am so frustrated with verizons lack of system checks that I just want to send the phone back!!  I have never had this many problems with Verizon and I have been a customer for 15 years.

Verizon can mail you a Sim for free. No travel time to a corporate store.

In their community help forum the not being able to activate is listed there as well as the fix.
    Good Luck

  • Frustrated with Droid X

I am very frustrated with my Droid X....it has been acting up (rebooting, has a delay, keeps going back to the home screen while I'm doing something else on the phone).
It started in March....It wouldn't hold a charge while on vacation. Stopped in to a Verizon store in Georgia and was told they didn't see anything wrong...when I got home I went into Verizon and they took the phone and they checked a few things and said to see if that worked. Also said the battery was fine.
No change...back again to a different Verizon store and was told the battery was swollen and gave me a new battery. Still gets hot but not as bad. Started rebooting and has a delay.
Took it in again and told them it was acting up...took the phone and did something with settings...said to see if that worked...
Now phone doesn't seem to be connecting to 3G at all....wont let me leave the home screen. It immediately goes back to home when I try to do anything. Took the phone in again yesterday. They did a factory reset and nothing changed. I was told I needed a new phone. I've only had this phone 1 year 7 mo. Is there anything I can do? I'm not techy....do I need an iphone?!!!!!
    dg

You have many of my problems - I've had them for almost 2 years.  I learned how to do the factory reset myself, I was having so many issues!!!  This phone REALLY seems to be a piece of junk!!
Wont take or save from message photos OR videos.
Wont install apps - like GroundSpeak
Wont run apps - like Kindle
Runs HALF an app - like Google Navigator (sometimes no satellite, sometimes no voice)
    Boots up all by itsself.
Sound is intermidently impossible to hear.
    Speach recognition is a JOKE
I am on the phone with Verizon for HOURS everytime I call them.  They replaced the phone once - this one is NINE TIMES WORSE but I dont have the time to call them...  HATE MY MOTOROLA DROID X

  • Iphone 4 synch with itouch 2g on same PC using iTunes 9.21 but it is trying

iphone 4 synch with itouch 2g on same PC using
iTune 9.2.1.. somehow all of the iTouch apps [2G 32GB] is trying to install into the new iPhone 4. How do I prevent it... it keeps saying sync in Progress and I am not sure if I should remove it from iTunes.. since I am afraid it might remove it from the iTouch when I connect it back. I thought iTunes would regard both devices as being distinct and not sharing the same iTunes folder??? I just set up iPhone 4 as a new device in iTunes 9.2.1 and I had synch iTouch 2G before on the same PC.. now it is trying to copy everything from the iTouch to the iphone... I tried everything but it is still trying to do this

Thanks, but I don't think that the shared libary feature in iTunes creates actual shares, does it? I have my own library shared but I don't see any shares showing up in Computer Management.
I don't think it's applicable, but in this case the "Bill" account actually has administrator-level access on most computers on the network, while "Steve" has limited access.
I may not be remembering correctly, but it seems to me that "Bill" has accessed a couple of the missing libraries while previously on computer A. It really seems like there is something within my library that is blocking those libraries; maybe I had accessed them but then they were disconnected abruptly or something and now iTunes/Bonjour marks them as disconnected.
It's a minor issue, but at this point it has become frustrating enough that I really want to figure this out, but I'm running out of ideas...
    Thanks.

  • Calendar on iPhone not syncing with calendar on computer or mobileme

I was just chatting with one of the mac support people and we were cut off. Lee had just made me do a manual sync of my calendar to have my computer calendar up to date (my Mobile Me calendar was the same as my computer one, so all was well there...).
How do I now get my iPhone to sync with my computer/mobile me? And vice versa?
This is very frustrating. I feel like it has to do with my iPhone upgrade, but I don't know for sure. All help is appreciated.

You need to delete the old me.com calendar account, and ensure that Calendar is switched on in the iCloud account settings on your iPhone.

  • IPhone/iPhoto frustration!

I am very frustrated with iPhoto and my iPhone. I take an enormous amount of pictures, and I have come to the limit of my 30 GBs! I tried to sync with my iMac, but most of the 3,000 pictures aren't registering in iPhoto. It only imported 129 pictures! iPhoto doesn't "see" anything else there! I can see these pictures in iPhoto under various monthly Photostreams. Are these permanent from within iPhoto? I know "Photostream" is only supposed to hold the pics for 30 days. How can I be sure? If they are permanent, how do I delete the other pictures from my iPhone?

I can see these pictures in iPhoto under various monthly Photostreams. Are these permanent from within iPhoto?
Yes - those are in events and have been imported to iPhoto and have no connection to the PhotoStream
As to your frustration - no wonder - using a program that yu have not learned is always very frustration - I suggest you go throught th etutorials and take a class so you willunderstand iPhoto and no longer be frustrated

  • How can i sync my iphone with itnes on a new pc.  when i tried to sync it said it will erase the contents on my iphone to sync with the new pc which has no contents

my old pc was running low in memory and i don't have enough space to back up in order to instal iOS5.  so i got a new pc, installed itunes on it but when i tried to sync my iphone on the new pc, it said it'll erase all contents on my iphone and sync with the new pc which has no contents. it says iphone can only sync with one machine.
    can you pls help

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Songs purchased on iPhone through iTunes Store will not show up on iPhone after syncing with iTunes

I recently purchased iTunes Match (about a month ago).  Since purchasing Match, any songs that I have bought on my iPhone 4S (32GB, Sprint) through the iTunes Store app will not sync back to my iPhone after syncing with iTunes on my computer.  I have iOS 7.1.2 and iTunes 11.3.0.54.  The only way I can get them to show back up in my iPhone music library so I can play them is by re-downloading the songs through the iTunes Store app.  Which is super annoying because now it is about 10 songs that keep doing this, and they are in multiple playlists.  Is anyone else having this problem and have you found any fixes?  Really regretting purchasing the iTunes Match (which is not enabled on my iPhone, just on my computer).

How to create custom ringtones ...
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
    3. Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus may be a good place to start.
    4. Write down the start and stop times of the clip.
    5. Right-click the song and select "Get Info."
    6. Click the "Options" tab.
    7. Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.
    8. Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 30 seconds long.
    9. Click "OK."
    10. Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC." Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
    11. Right-click the ringtone and select "Delete."
    12. Click on the "Keep Files" button.
    13. Find the file. It's usually in your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the band's name. It will have an extension of m4a.
    14. Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.
    15. Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.
    16. Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
    17. Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
Oh, also to change a file extension. (not sure on Mac), but in Windows you need to go to "control panel" select "folder options". You need to uncheck the box "hide file extension for known file types". This will allow you to view and change the files extensions.
    Hope this is useful ...

  • If Apple is so full of geniuses, why can't they come up with a usb cable to connect the iPad to a printer? This would seem like the most intelligent first choice for those of us who are absolutely frustrated with iPad printing functionality.

My sister has an iPad and an HP printer. She cant' print from her iPad even though a genius at the Apple Store sold the combination to her with the idea that it would be easy to do. Instead, I have to go to her place with my MacBook, she sends me an email, and I hook up my laptop to her printer to print what she needs. Why can't the Apple geniuses come up with a USB cable and an OS update to make it easy and NOT SO FRUSTRATING to print from the iPad?
I've been a Mac user for fifteen years but I could not, in good conscience, recommend an iPad to anyone until Apple considers that ease of use does not include regularly getting frustrated with the easiest of tasks.

all printers speak a diffrent "computer language" for a device to understand this language
    a driver is required
some devices such a computers come with drivers for a long line of printers and other devices
apple decided that it was better not to include that huge list of drivers as users would then not have
much storage left for media and apps
then apple let printer makers make apps for printing in app store and make printers support airprint
