IPhone 6 trade-in scam now locked into 2 year contract

Does anyone know were I can file an official complaint with Verizon?  I can't believe the run around I'm getting with Verizon.  I spoke to a customer service rep back on October 18th about the iPhone6 trade-in program.  I was told that I qualify for the trade-in and that after signing up for a new 2-year contract they would initially charge me $200 for the new iPhone 6 but as long as I return my iPhone 6 by December 10th I would be given a Verizon credit of $200,  I even asked during the conversation with customer service to verify that I would definitely be getting the $200 back in credit and she'd confirmed that.
Couple of weeks later I receive my new iPhone 6 but no return instructions or pre-printed label to return my iPhone 4.  When I called customer service today they told me I missed the deadline by 3 days and that I don't qualify for the promo???  How can that be when I was guaranteed by the customer service rep that I did qualify and that there would be no issues.  When I asked to speak to a supervisor and told him to check the recording of the phone conversation I had with customer service back on the 18th he told me that what customer service tells it's customers isn't legal binding and she was wrong to tell me I qualify for the promo.  So because of her mis-information I know locked into a new 2-year contract that I can't get out of and I'm paying $200 for a phone that I thought would be free.  I can't believe Verizon would treat their customers this way.  Are they telling me that I can't trust anything a customer service rep tells me because it's not legally binding?  Well know I'm legally bound to a 2year contract.  Thanks a lot Verizon!
You better believe I will be telling all of my friends, family and co-workers about how Verizon treats their customers and I will be pushing them to switch to another carrier that actually treats their customers with respect and doesn't trick them into 2-year contracts like they did to me.

I understand you are upset about not getting your $200, but seriously they tricked you into signing a 2-year contract?! REALLY?! You made your own decision to buy the phone with Verizon, things can change the day after they tell you something it's how ALL CELL PHONE CARRIERS are!! So even if you do switch <<Comment removed >>  , the other carrier will most likely do the same thing. You aren't entitled as a person or customer to every little thing Verizon does, some things you just won't qualify for <<Comments removed >>  .There will be other promotions going on you could qualify for. Everybody makes mistakes, it shows we are human, so be mad at that rep all you want she made a mistake you don't know if she was new or not, what if you were her first call customer?     Your contract is with your service provider - it has nothing at all to do with Apple.
    You can buy a contract free and/or unlocked iPhone from Apple and use it with whatever carrier you wish.  Your contract terms with your current service provider remain in effect for your iPhone 4s though, so if you cancel with them (or port your number out, which accomplishes the same thing) you will owe them early termination fees and so forth.
    Even if you pay full retail but want to use the phone with your current service provider, you are still obligated to complete the terms of your existing contract.

    I was surprised and infuriated this morning to receive an email acknowledging the receipt of my iphone 5 (appraised for $200 per Verizon's survey questions), and that I would be receiving a credit for $36!!!???  When I checked the reason for this, it states that the "phone won't power on."  THIS IS ABSURD.  I used this phone up until the DAY I sent it back... I followed their instructions EXPLICITLY... I even charged the phone before sending it back.  I took them WEEKS to acknowledge it was received and process it (no wonder it wouldn't turn on -  battery is dead!), and now I am getting scammed out of the value of the phone?  I immediately called the direct number for the trade-in department, where I was told I couldn't be assisted at that time, was told my complaint would be escalated and I should hear back within 7-10 business days.  I was provided a contact email for support and emailed them immediately with the details of my complaint - haven't heard anything back.  I am shocked by how this program is being handled... after reading other posts on line, it seems I am definitely not the only one.  I am requesting a credit for the FULL amount the device was appraised for, since there are NO defects or issues with it OR for my device to be mailed back to me IMMEDIATELY.  This has been a HORRIBLE experience and I have been a loyal customer for years... very disappointed.

  • ICal update And creation of a third calendar that I am now locked into

    I had both a work & home calendar set up and sync'ed via M-ME. All seemed to work fine. Now, they are not syncing properly and are behaving in ways I have never seen before.
    - Push syncing is no longer working. I have tried resetting the sync data with no luck. Both iphone & ipad only sync manually. This is the whole reason I have MME
    - iCal has moved my two sync'ed folders under the heading listing my MME account. It then also created a third generic calendar listed under "On My Mac"
    - This third calendar is a a pain in the A%& as it automatically dumps all my ical invitations into this calendar with no option to changing calendar (its locked).
    - after manual sync with mobile devices, it also pushes this calendar on to them and only lets me post to that calendar. I have lost the ability to managed a home and work calendar???
    - I tried deleting the calendar, but it keeps reappearing?
    Any one else experience these issues or have a fix? It has been very frustrating and I would love a fix.

    I'm not sure what you are creating several different catalogs. Lightroom is managed much more efficiently by using a single catalog. But regardless of that issue, it sounds as if you have turned on the clipping indicators. Pressing the J key will turn both the highlight and shadow clipping indicators on or off. Or you can click on the little squares in the upper corners of the histogram. Clicking the square on the left will turn shadow clipping on/off. Clicking the square on the right will turn highlight clipping on/off.

When I upgraded the 4 to OS 7, iTunes installed a non-existant password, and now I can't get it to unlock. What had been my password a year+ ago doesn't work.     The user and password is valid for apple not for I cloud.

    You cannot create an iCloud account on Windows. You can do so on a Mac or an iOS device and then log into it with your Windows PC.

    I like the discount and two year contract.  I keep my phones at least two years.  Still have my Blackberry Curve 8330 right now, and I don't plan on switching from Verizon.

    Unfortunately I spent my Saturday AM at the Genius bar last weekend and that is when they gave me the new phone. This was after I also spent about 3 hours total on several apple support calls/chats.

    How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

    Restore as new on another computer. Any data not backed up
    to iCloud or elsewhere will be lost.
    You may have to force iPhone into Recovery Mode

A year ago, I stupidly opted to get a new phone on the EDGE program because I was trying my first Samsung device and was not sure I would like it having been an IPhone user for years.I was right! Or so I thought.... The Note 3 has been horrible. I am on my second phone(replaced it under warranty) and it still freezes, shuts off on its own, and will not come back on for long periods of time. Having had enough, I decided to EDGE Up to another device. On March 16th I tried to edge up my device online but was unable to. I immediately called to figure out what the problem was. Back in October I had a mix up in my billing where I had set up a payment. It was not done properly by customer service and as a result my line was cut off. I called the EXACT day it went off, filed a complaint about the lack of follow through for my arranged payment, and thought I had it straightened out as the payment was made that same day. That incident, although it was a Verizon error, caused my Edge Contract to be "hotlined". I spent an hour on the phone on March 16th clearing the whole mess up. When the conversation ended, the Verizon representative admitted it was a Verizon error, documented everything, and then told me she was filing a release for the hotline hold that would take a couple of days. Her name was Linda and I stupidly trusted what she said.
    The days passed as I prepared to have a major foot surgery and to get my classroom straight before I would be out recovering for 3 weeks. All the time, my Samsung continued to glitch out like it has since I got it! While sitting on the couch recovering, I decided to deal with the phone issue again and EDGE UP. I figured 10 days latter, Linda would have taken care of the issue. Unfortunately, I faced the same problem and was told it was not eligible to edge up at this time. BACK on the phone again, 2 supervisors, 3 customer service reps. ( JOE from New York being the rudest customer service rep. I have EVER worked with) and 4 frustrating HOURS latter, Jason, the equally rude supervisor from Rochester, New York, informed me that Linda gave me BAD information, there was NOTHING he could do, and I am NOT eligible until April 14th!!!!! The WORST experience I have EVER had with a company. They were completely inept, rude, and not concerned about my time, my frustration, or the problems I was facing with their product in the LEAST. I have 4 LINES on Verizon that I am going to talk to Sprint about buying out. It was a horrible experience, and I can NOT believe I have no recourse or anyone to talk to....

    Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
    I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

    Place the iPhone into Recovery mode. If successful, this will require restoring the iPhone with iTunes which is required anyway in this situation.
