Ipod seems to be stuck between syncing.... stuff on ipod is now labelled 'other'

Ipod seems to be stuck between syncing .... stuff on ipod is now labelled 'other' ... don't have the music on itunes so can't get back from there. Is there anyway to remedy current state without having to restore and lose everything? music, playlist menus etc come up as being empty even though there is space on the disk. Am wondering if it has been casued by plugging into itunes at work. Ipod worked fine last night but I just can't access anything today ...... have looked quickly at forums but cannot find anything which works. Have reset a couple of times with little effect. Went home and pluged into home pc just in case .... but no joy ..... have itunes set to manually manage so it doesn't synch music. Any help would be most appreiciated :-)

Plug it in to iTunes - go to the Summary tab when the iPod appears - go down to the 'Configure Accessibility' button (bottom of the page) - click it.  You may see VoiceOver checked.  Uncheck it, then click OK.
Failing that: I have a 7G.  With my version, I get the voice when I hold both volume buttons down (I think).  Maybe your buttons do the same thing and maybe they are being held down by something?  Just a guess.

My new iphone 5C seems to be stuck on syncing contacts; it's been in step 2 for over an hour.

Hi, I have the same problem.  Using ipad 2 with ios 5 and a mac running lion (10.7.2).  My iphone syncs fine, but my ipad2 just sits there for ever with the message:

Have tried rebooting the ipad but it didn't help.

  • My Ipod seems to be stuck in a manified or zoom mode.  If I turn it off it goes to normal print size for aout 2 seconds and then zooms in too large to use.  Help?

My ipod seems to be stuck in a magnified or zoom mode. If i turn it off, it goes back to normal size for about 3 seconds and then zooms in so large that it is unuseable.  Someone help!  Please.

Did you follow the instructions in the link I provided in my first reply?
Also try triple clicking the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn Zoom off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there.

  • HT1632 My ipod seems to be stuck in a "Loop" as my nike+ tries to download, just keeps saying, "downloading" but nothing happens, runs my battery down. What can I do?

My ipod seems to be "stuck" downloading of workout information to Nike+. Ipod keeps saying it is downloading but doesn't complete download, runs my battery down and my computer doesn't now recognize my ipod and I get "error" message (2005).  What can I do to fix this problem?

I suggest try getting it back to your stock iOS and forget about jailbreaking.

  • Ipod seems to be stuck in limbo

I've got a 4G ipod that when I attach it to my USB port it goes into "do not connect" and I can hear the hard drive cycling. My computer also makes a noise that it recognizes something is connected. Itunes doesn't start up and if I try to the computer just freezes up. When I unplug the ipod from my computer I get an "ok to disconnect" screen and it says its in disk mode. I've reset, restarted, reinstalled everything. I don't know what else to do and there are way too many threads to go through. Please help!

Also, I've gone into update while my ipod is connected and it says "plug in an ipod to update it"

  • My ipod touch 4th gen will not sync apps to ipod from itunes

I've restored the ipod several times; reinstalled itunes a few times and restarted my computer a number of times.  Ipod will sync the first time after restore and not again.  I'm tired of restore the ipod every time I want to sync it to itunes.  Is there a better solution???

I'm having the same problem with my girl's ipod 4th generation's. I have restored them 4 times now. It works fine after the restore but the very next time it will no longer sync and I have to do the restore again. It's becoming very frustrating.

  • My 6th gen ipod seems to be stuck in accessibility mode

My 6th generation Ipod is stuck in accessibility mode and is "voicing" all the different options on the screen.  Also, a swiping action is not working.  I have not done a factory reset to original settings but it will likely be my next step.  A hard reset did not cure the problem.

Plug it in to iTunes - go to the Summary tab when the iPod appears - go down to the 'Configure Accessibility' button (bottom of the page) - click it.  You may see VoiceOver checked.  Uncheck it, then click OK.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The songs are grayed out in iTunes because the iPod is set to automatically update. That is normal.
As for the songs skipping and not playing, that is not.

  • Battery on brand new iPod touch drains when synced to a mac and now it won't charge. If you're thinking of buying a new iPod touch, don't bother. The batteries don't work.

The battery on my son's brand new 64G iPod touch drained while it was synced yo the mac. Now it says 100% charged when it's connected to a charger, but drops to zero as soon as it's disconnected. It would appear that, either the battery is faulty or the battery indicator is faulty. iPod batteries are not supposed to drain while syncing. And rechargeable batteries are supposed to recharge after they have drained. Maybe I'm missing something simple here, does anyone know what it is?

    - Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.

  • Workflows stuck between steps not on steps

    Hi
We have upgraded from 4.6 to version 6 and erp2005 portal. The problem we are having is that a few of our old workflows seem to get stuck between steps and not on the step itself. 2 examples, the old sub workflow for to lock employees gets stuck on the arrow in the graphic between 'find employee' and 'lock employee' similarly if a 'process control' sets a work item to 'obsolete' to cancel it the process cancels the work item but does not fully exit the obsolete process branch and is stuck there on the arrow in the swi1 graphic. The workflow status is 'In Process' no errors are given.
Any ideas? Are there maybe notes that have to be implemented to correct a bug in the system?
Maximum points awarded for this. Thanks!

  • Grayed Out Song (When Sync'd to iPod)

A few days ago I bought a few songs on iTunes.  Once finished I sync'd up my ipod touch and later on I listened to them from my ipod.  However, I noticed that one of them sync'd twice onto my ipod, so I just deleted on of the copies and thought nothing of it.  About two days later after I had made some purchases on my ipod, I sync'd my ipod to the same computer from before just to update my computer's library.  When I finished, the song that was previously doubled upon syncing a few days earlier was no longer on my ipod.  I looked and the song is still in my library.  I then tried resyncing a few times and also taking off all my music and syncing just the particular song, but to no avail.  When I resync'd all my music, I looked at the library of music on my ipod and I see the particular song there, but it has a gray exclamation point next to it.  When I right click I am unavailible to find an error message or number.  Normally I know this problem to occur when itunes cant find the origin, but I know that the song is on my computer, and it certainly plays on itunes just fine, it just seems not to want to sync to my ipod.  When I compare the song in question to the other song I bought with it, there seem to be no differences in bit rate/sample rate either
tl;dr- song on my computer but won't sync to ipod touch.
I will note that I'm using a 1st gen ipod touch (ios 5.1.1) (32gb) and the hold button no longer works, but otherwise I haven't had other problems ever with my lovely machine

Trying to resolve the coverflow crash (crashing Music app, crashing the iPod) even when no music is playing, I finally told iTunes to not sync music and sync'd the iPod Touch 4th Gen, erasing all music from it. Then told iTunes to sync all the music and let the iPod Touch resync.
This resync did solve the problem of the blank Genius playlist.
This resync did not solve the coverflow crash problems, however.
