You can download all software from OTN: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html. Please read the Developer License before downloading.
Developers:
All software downloads are free, and most come with a Developer License that allows you to use full versions of the products at no charge while developing and prototyping your applications, or for strictly self-educational purposes. You can buy products with full-use licenses at any time from the online Store or from your sales representative.

is not a valid archive. Can somebody please fix it and let me know when it is done as I am trying to do an evaluation of Oracle Files

    Hello Silvia:
I know you can download the client tools on the Oracle site:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/index.html
You need to register, but it's free though
Otherwise, if you licensed SAP with Oracle, on market place you'll get the Oracle DVD's. Inside those, run the Oracle Installer and instead of installing the DBMS, choose to install only client tools

  • Does Oracle E-Delivery provides free Peoplesoft to install at home PCs

    Hi All,
I am thinking to download Peoplesoft HRMS from Oracle E-Delivery. As I have tried downloading it already and it let me download freely but I am not sure if the downlaoded setup will allow me to install the applicatoin without any license or so.
Is it really free of cost to install and work on home PCs ? If not then how much it cost?
    Your response is awaited.
    Regards

Down load and review the “Read Me” and Notes at the top of the programs list. They are part of the required files.
One of these will have the correct license numbers for your choice of installation.
Generally, Oracle doesn’t mind you installing it on your own system for your personal education purposes. It does them good to have as many people as possible understand how to use their products. Its really greate about Oracle!!
so after downloading all those zipped files(Both for peopletools and Peoplesoft HRMS) do I need to burn them on CD for further installation on my laptop??
because I heard that these are media packs and we need to install them after buring onto CDs
Besides, How do they identify whether the installation is done fo education purpose at home PCs(I am sorry if its a silly question)?..

  • Unable to update Oracle SOA Suite Extension on version 11.1.1.2.36.55.36

    Hi All,
I am trying to install Oracle SOA Suite Extension (following http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e13666/ojdig.htm#CHDFCHGA), but the 'Help/Check for Updates' didn't find 'SOA Suite Composite Editor'.
    Installed JDeveloper 11g Properties:

To overcome the issue i reinstalled JDeveloper 11g (where i delete the environment variables, registry and installed folder) but same thing.
where as i tried to install the 'soa-jdev-extension.zip' but it requires the extension :
    oracle.studio     min=11.1.1.1.33.54.07     Not installed and

  • Want to install Oracle Developer Suite 10g R2 on Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Hi,
I have windows 7 (64-bit) installed on my laptop. I want to install Oracle developer suite 10g R2 on this machine but when I run the Oracle Universal Installer, it gives me error stating "operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2. Actual 6.1 Failed<<<<
    Exiting OUI.
Can anyone please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

Developer Suite 10 is not certified or supported to be installed on Win7 (64bit). Although it can be done, you will have problems later if you manage to get it installed. If you really want to have it on your Win7 laptop, I encourage you to install "Windows XP Mode", which is part of Windows Virtual PC. This is free to licensed Win7 users (does not apply to Home edition). Refer to the following:

  • How to make Oracle Developer Suite use different Oracle client version

    Hello,
    I have installed Oracle Developer Suite 10g (9.0.4) on Win7 32bit
When I run Oracle Forms or Oracle Reports or any DB tool (like SQL Navigator or PL/SQL Developer) and trying to connect to remote Oracle DB 10g (10.2.0.5.0) I get an error ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION.
Then I've installed Oracle Instant Client 10.1.0.4.0 and made DB tools use this client and error was gone, but I still get that error using Forms and Reports.
So my qustion is, can I make Oracle Forms and Reports use any other Oracle Client but that was installed with Oracle Developer Suite? Or any other suggestions are welcome how to fix connection issue in Forms and Reports?
I have read many threads and some suggested to set NLS_LANG. Done that, but it didn't help :(

The better question is why are you trying to use an obsolete Oracle product on such a new OS and expecting it to work properly? Are you also using MS Office 95 on this machine? Attempting to hack a solution is fine if you are just learning to use a product or just playing around. However, I would never recommend attempting to do what you are doing.
Oracle Forms 9.x was desupported years ago, long before Windows 7 was released. Trying to use it in this manner is risky at best and not something that should be done in a professional environment. If you are a student or just home user trying to learn on your own, I would recommend that you use a virtualization product like Oracle Virtual Box and create a vm of an older OS. For example XP, then install on that platform. If you are a licensed user of Win 7 Pro or higher, I believe Microsoft is still giving away (for free) "XP Mode". Details here:

    I have found thread:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=2118383#2118383
which is exactly for me - so - can one make some preconfiguration steps? It seems strange, that one should check file by file the installation already prepared and tested by Oracle? I am not sure is this the right practice in production environment... well - and I am not sure if it works at all - it can take much time without result...

    Alex-
Increase your Windows paging file by going to Control Panel->System->Advanced(tab)->Performance Settings(button)->Advanced(tab)->Virtual Memory. Change the Initial size to be at least 1535MB.

  • Buying  Oracle Collaboration Suite

    hi
would you please tell me how and where i can buy "Oracle Collaboration Suite" with online payment ? and how to get Metalink account ?
    thx in adv

You should contact your local Oracle office for buying Oracle products.
When buying any product, Oracle will offer you free support ( depending on product purchased ) for some time and you will get a metalink account created by them.
After the expiry, you have to renew your support contract to keep that metalink account.
Oracle will give you a Subscriber ID and Customer Support Identifier (CSI) for later reference for buying products as well as renewing support contracts.

  • Sendmail on linux and oracle colloboration suite on windows 2000

    Hello
I am new to Oracle collaboration suite .We just want to know ,how we can implement sendmail on linux server on a seperate machine and Oracle collaboration suite on windows 2000 on a different machine.Whether it is possible or not if yes then what are the steps to be taken for this,I mean how we can go for it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Maddie,
=> Phsyical DataGuard supports different platforms, but not different versions. So no option.
=> Logical Standby => while supporting different versions of database, it hat platform restrictions. So especially with 10g is not an option as well
=> GoldenGate is probably the way to go, but unfortunately not a cost free option. But would ideally support what you expect.
=> Streams might be possible as well...

  • Cool Oracle Documentation Tool - Its free!

I found this tool online and I think its great for Oracle developers (especially new ones).
It s a java program that allows you to create HTML page documentation for an Oracle schema (it supports 9i and 10g I think).
I found it very helpful in being able to browse schema objects while writing code - and its works in every OS!
Its not quite as robust as TOAD but this tool just creates the docs. And they are al linked with an index and stuff. Oh, and did I mention it runs on Mac OSX??? cool.....
I downloaded it from www.sqlscribe.com. They dont have much of a site but the link works.

I am looking for Oracle's CASE tool suite for free download like other Oracle softwares. Also the related documentation.
Can anyone tell me the site address.Right now Oracle has 3 official 'case' tools.
Oracle Designer is part of the Developer Suite (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/index.html) is extremely comprehensive, but few bother to learn it properly and many seem to think it is "not best neither ...".
Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/datamodeler/index.html) is the new one, an offshoot of SQL Developer.
Oracle JDeveloper has a built-in UML tool as well as other visualization and documentations tools (especially related to SOA and BPEL), and given that JDeveloper is free that makes this variant the least cost of the three.
There are a lot of other CASE tools on the market, and which one is 'best' depends a lot on what you are trying to accomplish.
For Oracle tools, Oracle Designer is very good if your development platform is ORacle Forms. The built-ins in JDeveloper are excellent if you concentrate on Java, JEE and JDeveloper.
If yo want more discussion around the Oracle tools, go to the appropriate forum.
