Hi,
Is it possible to clone an instance without any data?
Say I want to clone an instance to make a new instance on some other server so that the new clone will be same like a fresh installation without any customization and data in it.

One option you have is to do another fresh install, apply all of the patches that have been applied on the current instance, then use iSetup to migrate your setups from source to target.

OK, I prepare a new exp/imp, but befoe doing that, I want to identify all errors happened in previous exp/imp
1. I set statistics=none in exp par file, now I have a clean export without any warnings. :-)
2. I checked previous imp log, found the below problem
1)
ORA-01917 user or role xxx doesn't exit-- this is not important, some users have not been created in test
instance. while, we can set grants=n in the later imp par file.
2)
ORA-01659. unable to allocate minextents beyond 63 in tablespace RPT_IN_MID
--this is seriours. I found the total same errors like below

Hi Assuming you are using the essbase report writer the following script will work: { SUPPAGEHEADING } { SUPCOLHEADING } { SUPFORMATS } { SUPFEED } { NOINDENTGEN } { FIXCOLUMNS 1 } <ROW("Dimension") <UDA(Dimension,MyUDA) ! the fixcolumns 1 will ensure that you only get the UDA without it you will get the variable followed by the corrosponding value.

1. Now while installing OEL it will asks for HOSTNAME - in that what is the hostname should i give? either LOCALHOST or any DN i have.
Then what is the IP to be Given, STATIC or DHCP... If static means whether it is manual or automatic.?
I don't know whether there is a way to do or am somewhere crazy or wrong, sorry if so.

I do not know what you mean by manual/automatic. You need to set up a fixed IP Address that does not change each time your reboot or reconnect to the network.

How do i download video from iphone 4 to a Mac Compatible Seagate GoFlex external hard drive, drag and drop loads an icon without any data?

I took some video over christmas using my iphone 4 and ever since i have been trying to back up these videos for safe keeping. When i tried to back up to my computer's c drive only the smallest file would load, the other 2 the icon would appear but no data was present in properties. so i then tried to drag and drop to my seagate 3tb GoFlex hard drive and i would also get icons but no data. It seems to me this would be a simple process anyone know the answer? I have windows xp and can seem to move everything else around without any problem just seems to be video as the problem?

I won't even insert any SIM in it, just need to know if it's possible, or the device must have signal? (I will activate the iPhone with official ATT sim, but then remove it)

Sure. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. Select the topmost entry for your hard drive - mfgr.'s ID and drive size - then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. You should see a partition window surrounded in a light blue rectangle. At the bottom is a sizing gadget. Select it and push up to reduce the size of the existing partition enough for the size of the new partition you desire. Do not reduce it too much or you may not have enough space for your existing partition. The click on the [+] button to add a new partition in the space you've created. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. It will take a little while so be patient. When it is completed you now have the new volume mounted on your Desktop.

I have following issue:
I have dual-boot Arch with Windows XP. I created 4 partitions: 40GB XP's system disk (ntfs), 80GB ntfs data disk, 1GB swap and 25GB Linux partition.
But I am running XP so rarely, that it is frustrating, that I have most of my data on ntfs partition... I'd like to wipe out that 80GB ntfs, resize the system ntfs partition up to for example 60GB, and add the remaining 60GB to my linux ext3 partition (because I'm running out of free space recently...).
Has anyone done something like this, and how safe it is (if possible at all)

It's trivial using gparted, but as with any similar operation, you run the risk of losing data - so you'd better backup.

I have little or none experience using Oracle or any other database systems, but my boss at work has generously offered me a chance to take a OAC/OCP certification (Oracle Database). I work as a sysadmin you might say, on a system that relies on Oracle for datastorage. My duties at work do not include any "tampering" with the database, but I sometimes use SQL (Select queries) or Business Objects to obtain data from the database that i cannot reach in other ways.
I have been looking at the courses Oracle Database 10g: Administration Workshop I Release 2 (and Workshop II), and wonder if this is really enough to be qualified for a job as a DBA or equivalent job.
I do not have the need for any of this knowlege of Oracle databases in the current position i have in the company I work for, but perhaps I could, when the time is right, get another job in this company (or somewhere else).
Is it recommended to have worked with databases before taking any of these certifications, and will I be able to fulfill my duties as a DBA with just the two courses I have mentioned above? Are there any other jobs I could do if i take the courses above?

In regards to your question regarding the two courses the answer is absolutely not! In this profession staying up on technology is paramount so that means read, read read! You are presently one step ahead of most others because you got access to a real database where others do not. Take advantage of that but just be careful of the statements you issue. Get really familiar with the data dictionary tables then concentrate on the front end tools. If you know the mechanics you won't be so afraid to push a button when called apon. As for me I never took a course, I just studied the appropriate manuals to pass the test for ocp currently I am 8, 9 and 10g certified. What you can do to accomplish this is get a syllabus of the required areas and check it out on the database. Keep taking the test until you pass, then move onto the next one. Once this momentum builds you will not want to stop. Obviously there will be some things you can't do here. In that case use your home computer, crash it etc. Get to know the procedures cold. Now oracle requires you to take courses to get the cert issued. Back in my days that wasn't required. Consider it an investment in your future. Someday someone out there will want to talk with you because you are currently associated with a business that has an oracle db and that is all that matters. At the interview if you answer their questions professionally and competently, you in all likely hood get the position, regardless of the cert you have or not.

The iPad itself should not be locked as they generally cannot be locked to a Carrier. The 'Network Restricted' message may relate directly to the Carrier this particular SIM is with? Have you tried contacting them directly to enquire if there are restrictions on the SIM/Account at all?

I want to track some select and informations that are not in the sys.fga_log$ table. So I have to create a handler and insert my data in a specific table anyway.
My question is : "Do you know a way to prevent the audit data to go in fga_log$ when fga is enabled ?" ; the only 2 options I've found for the dbms_fga audit_trail parameter are "extended" and "db"; even with db, data are tracked in this table !
Is there anyway for the data to not been tracked in fga_log$ or a file when you use DBMS_FGA ?

Actually XML works with 10.2 and guess and in the case of my configuration, it's faster than writing the data in FGA_LOG$.
- 100,000 select >> 3'30 in FGA_LOG$
- 100,000 select >> 1'30 in XML
(Don't jump to conclusion... It's select one after the others but interesting anyway !)

ICloud account out of storage without any data

Hey guys,
My account has been out of storage space for almost a year now. It says I am using 9.2 GB of data in my email, but I do not have any email in any folder or trash. I have contacted apple support multiple times they always tell me they will call me back and never do. It is very frustrating, I get the out of space messages a lot. Is there something I can do to reset my account? Or Is there any Apple dude here that can help?
