It takes 5 to 8 minutes for photoshop cc to start

when starting photoshop cc it take 5 to 8 minutes for the program to start. If you look under forced quit on the mac it says the program is not responding, and then 5 minutes later it starts.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to sort this out?

  • Anything I try to do on my iMac is suddenly slow and I typically get the pinwheel or it takes a few minutes for the app to start. This includes just typing into an email or pages doc etc.

I was using WildBlue Satellite service for my internet connection. I recently changed to a Broadband connection. Since the change my computer is slow. I click on the mail application icon (or any other icon) and then wait and wait for it to open. It used to be instantanious. While I am editing in Pages or Numbers I will type almost an entire sentence before the characters actually appear on the screen.  This happens when I am typing an email as well. I often get the pinwheel and cannot do anything until the system catches up with me. It doesn't make sense that the broadband connection has anything to do with this. My internet upload and download speeds are great.  It is mostly the internal apps that do not require an internet connection. Any ideas?

I've got activity monitor open and nothing is popping out at me. But I will check it the next time I get the pinwheel.
No software was installed - either related to the new broadband connection or otherwise. I checked for updates to the OS (nothing).
I tried turning Airport off and at first it seemed better and I also did not have the ethernet connected.  I also did an SMS reset? No change.
    Good suggestions though.
Oh, I am running Parallels6.  I've shut windows down, performed a clean disk and system clean with Trend Micro.

  • Windows 7 64 bit machine with printer installed locally takes 2-3 minutes for printing most of the time and fails to print some time.

Our customer  have 3-4 windows machines in local area network (No Domain Login) with different OS versions and platform architecture (32 / 64 bit)
I have no idea about the configuration of  machine to which printer is hooked up but it is running Windows for sure.
This machine is accessible from any other machine in LAN. They have another machine running Windows 7 64 bit OS  on which they have installed the printer connected to earlier machine  using local printer driver installation
with local TCP/IP port being selected during installation. Installation goes well,  printer gets installed successfully and  shows ready state. but when we try to print anything on it takes 2-3 minutes to complete print job. They have tried
this on printers with couple of different model and make but the result is same delayed printing. They have also tried to install different printer drivers like HP printer model specific driver and HP universal driver too , but the result is
the same in all cases. earlier when they were using  32 bit XP machine with printer installed same way that they installed now for win 7 64 , there was no issue seen with regards delayed printing. is this a issue with windows  7 64
bit printing system ? or it has to do something with mixed and matched (32/64 bit )printer drivers running on different machines on LAN ?
I will try to get more information with regards to the machine to which printer is connected. In the mean please revert back to me if any one had face similar issue and able to resolve it successfully.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Have you tried ping ip address of printer? and check if there exists any data lost in network connection. If your network connection is crowded, it can cause delay for printer.
Also, please attempt to disable all security software temporarily, such as antivirus, firewalls, etc and
    clear all printer cache.
Locate to task manager, check the state of spoolsv.exe, including cpu and memory. If it has high cpu or memory usage, it may be caused by malware. Thus, you'd better to make a full scan with the latest anti-virus.

  • Isquint takes over 300 minutes for one file...

Ok I know its apple discussions but I cant find ANY support for iSquint. Does anybody use it here and know why it takes anything for half an hour to 300 or 400 minutes for one file?
There is no real pattern, it seems to be that if I add more than one file it's almost certain to take ages, but a single movie set to convert could take 30 minutes or 300..
The movies are simple mp4's, dvd's encoded with handbrake. between 500mb and 1.2GB in size. No pattern to file sizes taking a specific length.
I literally just thought though, some of these files have already been converted from avi to mp4 using iSquint, and I haven't checked for a pattern to see if these ones take ages and others do not.
Could this be it or does anyone know what might be causing it?
    I'm running a 24" iMac with 2.8Ghz processor and 2GB RAM
    Regards

In handbrake there is an option to encode it to add an iPod compatibility. However as far as iSquint goes, I gave up on it after i began to run out of space on my 'pod. I would suggest to reinstall the application.
Sorry i cant be more of a help,
    Kevin

  • Why does it take a few minutes for gmail emails to be forwarded to my icloud account on my Mac Book?

Suddenly, my gmail emails which have always been set to automatically forward to my icloud account on my, laptop (especially slow now), and iPad, are now taking several minutes for them to forward.
    Why is this?
I did recently update to Yosemite. Could this be why? I have never had this issue.
    Thanks!

Just to rule out Gmail, I have been having the exact same issue from a private-domain email account.  Like you, I recently upgraded to Yosemite and I'd say the timeframe roughly corresponds to that. I've seen delays of as much as three or four hours, in fact.  Crazy.

  • Does Backing Up during sync take 20-30 minutes for everyone else?

Since the 2.0 upgrade, syncing takes one minute less than eternity. Well okay, not that long, but at least 1000% longer than it did before. The longest step is "Backup up iPod" which just crawls.
My syncs, which used to take less than a minute when I wasn't copying new music or shows over, now take at least 5 minutes, and have taken as long as 30 minutes.
Certainly this isn't normal? Anyone else seeing incredibly long sync time?

So I tried deleting my iTouch 2.0 backup file (first manually, by going into the\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup folder, and second via the iTunes:Preferences:Syncing dialog) - this makes no difference. Sync now apparently always Backs Up in the Windows environment as part of the Syncing process. Since Back Up and Sync are separate context-menu items for the iPod, shouldn't they be independent operations.
Also, it's not good backup policy to have exactly one backup (of your iPod 30 seconds ago) - has this change been implemented because of instability in the iTouch 2.0 release? (as a defense in case your iPod self-destructs during the Sync process) - if so, perhaps the backup will be removed / sped up in the first patch release.
Does the Mac environment show the same behavior change?

  • Why does it take over ten minutes for email to get through for my request for a signature

Why isn't this program faster? It's been over 20 minutes emailing a test form, to myself, to see how quick this is? Is this normal? Not what I was looking for in a software program

Have you tried to eliminate everything extraneous. In other words, do you experience the same delays with a simple Java program (no lookups, JNDI) that loads the drivermanager and creates a connection.
Do you have access to a traciong JVM or some program that captures run-time execution timing information? Even without the source, this will tell you the specific class::methos where time is spent so you can better determine where the delay is ocurring.

    Hello Howard.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there.

  • After upgrading to Yosemite, it now takes roughly 3 minutes for my computer to boot up, my sign in is now on my lap top screen and not my aux. screen as it has been and my touchpad won't work until sometime after booting up.

Slow boot, wrong screen & touchpad not connection correctly

So are they going to do anything with all of this or just act like Microsoft & hope it'll get better by its-self? I'm pretty disappointed and wish I'd stayed with Mavericks. Is there anyway to go back?

  • Why does it take 7-42 minutes for Firefox 4 to open once I click the icon? (I have timed it, yes.)

I'm writing this on ie, which I HATE, because since I installed F4, it will not start up in a reasonable time. I did all the basic troubleshooting, uninstalled and re-installed it, checked the options, etc but nothing works. Everything elso on my computer works instantly, except F4. What's up with that and am I going to have to go back to using the hated ie all the time?

It sounds to me like the installation didn't perform correctly.
What I suggest you do is to go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it, but don't checkmark the option to remove your bookmarks, customizations etc.
Before you do that though, go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file.
After you uninstall the existing installation, reboot.
It's also wise to disable your AV before installing again. If you've got AVG, this is particularly difficult because it doesn't have an Exit option. Instead, you have to open MSCONFIG and remove the checkmark from '''AVG Watchdog '''which disables everything. Any changes to MSCONFIG requires a reboot I regret to say.

  • Itunes 10.5.2 is running so slowly - it takes over 1 second for a track to start and whenever i move to a different position in the song using seek, it takes over 1 second for the audio to start playing

Anyone having problems with iTunes 10.5.2?
I'm having long times to start a track and then over 1 second to start playing again whenever I skip to another part of the track.

  • HT204150 Can I either remove all contacts from the iCloud or have the contacts on my phone override the contacts in the iCloud. I need to remove 50+ contacts from the cloud that keep resyncing to my phone. It takes over a minute to remove each contact man

Is there a way to remove all of my contacts from the iCloud? My phone has my correct contacts list. When I sync with iCloud it pulls down 50+ contacts that I do not want. I went to iCloud to remove the unwanted contacts and it takes nearly 1 minute for each one. Another soluntion would be to make my phone contacts override my iCloud contacts?

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

  • Yosemite takes about 2 minutes to shut down

Hey everyone, I just got done installing OS Yosemite last night, and now it takes over two minutes for my MacBook Pro 15" to power down/restart. How do I fix it? Or do I have to just deal with it?

Yes it is.  Thank you very much.  You appear to have adaquate hard drive space available.  Now try the following....
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.
