J2sdkee1.2.1 to j2sdkee1.3

Regedit shows several references to 1.2.1 although I used Add/Remove Progams to remove 1.2.1 . I realize this is not unusual, but what I would like to know is how to fix it. Now when I try to run deploytool from c:\j2sdkee1.3\bin, I get the following output:
C:\j2sdkee1.3\bin>deploytool
Deployment tool version 1.3. Type deploytool -help for command line options. Sta
rting...
Error: Could not connect to localhost - org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: minor code
: 1398079689 completed: No
(For more detail, see file 'C:\DOCUME~1\SCHWAR~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\.j2eeDeploytoo
lExceptionLog.out')
Deploytool does come up, but then I get errors trying to create a jar file for the bean. Any suggestions?
Betty
I would award Duke Dollars if I could just figure out how!

I think the reason you have no replies to this is that like me most people probably don't know what DeployTool is.
Is there any support or forums available for DeployTool, if so I suggest you try them.

j2sdkee1.3.1 with j2sdk1.4.0 works good for me, but
on Windows NT 4.0SP6. Don't know on W2K.hi Martin,
    Thanks a lot.
Actually there were problems during deployment of ejb
applications too. java.exe was generating errors, and were
    raising NamingExceptions during run.
The gnumake utility I was running, for the deployment, reported
" Error5 " during this.. which I think is something similar to
    I/O Error..
Anyway I tried using j2sdk1.4.0_01 , the latest release .,
and till now these errors have not reoccured.
Now I assume this was due to some problem with the j2sdk1.4.0
since the latest jdk seems to have solved it..
    Thanks again.

    Thanks

    1) To handle <bodycontent> you should inherit from BodyTagSupport
    class
    2) You should use your bean like: <td><atmjsp:ATM/></td>
with closing slash - it's bodyless tag - this mistake
causes JSP compiler to report error

I have an email application which uses a bean called webmailbean.java. I could successfully execute this mail application under java webserver2.0 but it fails under j2sdkee1.2.1 server. I have kept this bean in a package called test and placed this bean in c:\j2sdkee1.2.1\lib\classes\test\abc.class and trying to use this bean in my jsp page.
It is giving an error message like this:Cannot create bean of class webmailbean. While other examples which uses beans are working fine in j2ee server why this application fails?
    plz any one help me
    Thanks in advance,

I had an error like this 2 days ago
After several posts here I eventually found out (thru a guess on my part) that the inf flat file that the bean referred to was corrupted.

  • How To Use Connection pooling with j2sdkee1.3?

    hi!
    How to use javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource and
    javax.sql.PooledConnection with j2sdkee1.3.?
    In j2ee1.3's deployment tool,
    to specify the resource factories,
    javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource is not available.
Please Help me to use Connection pooling.
    Dhaya.

Vendor implementations usually have a fair amount of optimization. For J2EE apps, my concern would be using your pool in transactional calls. When you make a transactional call across several beans/methods, the vendor's pool makes sure that you get the same connection each time you get a connection from the pool so that if you want to rollback the work (in case an error occurs), you can. Does your current connection pool support this?

Well, there's no end quotation mark after your print statement. Could that be causing the problem?

  • Why only j2sdkee1.3 support JNDI lookup "java:comp/env" from remote client?

    Hi:
I have been puzzled by this function of j2sdkee1.3.1 support JNDI lookup "java:comp/env" from client. I always think that "java:comp/env" namespace can only be access by the application server self for it is a private namespace. The weblogic and websphere doest support this.
    Why?
    Regards!

Hi:I'm unable to get JNDI reference object from remote application client with "java:comp/env/ejb/<lookupName>".
    The exception says:
Application threw an exception:javax.naming.CommunicationException: Cannot connect to ORB [Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE:   vmcid: SUN  minor code: 201 completed: No]
The J2EE server and client are run on different machines, and needs to be like this. There isn't any problem with JSP/Servlet (cause they run/execute on the server itself). How will the client find out the JNDI refernce my mere specification of "java:comp/env/..."?
Am I making a mistake anywhere?
BEA Weblogic & IBM Websphere allows explicitly specifying the server name, while doing JNDI lookup. Is there anything similary for J2EE?
I couldn't find reference for this anywhere in the J2EE tutorial or EJB books.

  • J2SDKEE1.2.1 compiling

Well, Ive created a batch file for compiling the .java files from the tutorial. But in one way or another the compiler cant find the j2ee.jar package. Though all paths were set correctly. Heres my batch file. Who can help me out!!!
echo The JAVA environment is about to be set...
    set JAVA_HOME=c:\jdk1.3.1
    set J2EE_HOME=c:\j2sdkee1.2.1

    %JAVA_HOME%\bin\javac -classpath %CPath% %CLASSES%\ConverterEJB.java %CLASSES%\Converter.java %CLASSES%\ConverterHome.java

It is because of classpath problem
if any of the classpath is not available in ur setting , the remain won't work ,
for ex u have class path to c:\l.jar;c:\ll.jar
in this case if l.jar is not available the classpath won't take the next one...
so try to check if there any file is missing for u..
u can get the whole paths by typing
set | more cammand in the prompt...
let me know is it working now
