JDeveloper 1.3.1 + ADF BC

Hi,
May I know how to programmaticly clear AM instances created?. How to clear the Validation error from message stack?
Thanks,
-

Could someone from Oracle tell me if Intermedia is currently supported or will be in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ? If it is, i really need some documumentation about how to use equivalents of Jdeveloper 10.1.2 <adf:render/> and <adf:inputrender/> tags.
Thanks,
Seb.

  • Error deploying Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ADF application on oracleAS 10.1.2

    Hi,
    i have created an application on Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and when i am trying to deploy it on oracleAS 10.1.2 i get the following error:-
    java.rmi.RemoteException deploy failed!: ; nested exception is: oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: xmlns:xsi. deploy failed!: ; nested exception is: oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: xmlns:xs
    I searched the forum for a similar kind of error. I got the solution for it.
    It mentions about jdk and j2ee versions.I changed my project and jdeveloper libraries and jdk's. But still am getting the same error.
    I will post this thread in the jdeveloper forum also.
    Please could anyone guide me as to how to approach to this particular scenario.
    Thanks in advance.

    Helllo,
    By default in JDeveloper 10.1.3 ADF application will be based on J2EE 1.4 specification version, where OracleAS 10.1.2 is based on J2EE 1.3.
    So J2EE is not compatible in this direction.
    Can you migrate your application server to 10.1.3?
    If not you will need to create your application based on J2EE 1.3 standards.

  • Deploy Jdeveloper 11.1.2 ADF Application on weblogic 10.3.5 ???

    I don't want to install ADR on my weblogic. how to create ear file having all the required adf jar and war files in it?
    what is recommended installing ADR on production weblogic server or having ear file containing required war and jar files and why?

    Then how would we deploy jdeveloper 11.1.2 application on jBoss?You wouldn't, at least if you want a supported configuration. Right now, WLS and IBM WebSphere are the only ones supported, and yes, you do install the ADR on WebSphere. If you want to try to get it working on JBoss, you can fuss around with JAR files in the classpath, but it's not going to be supported.

  • JDeveloper - obtaining and installing ADF extensions

    Just got back from an Oracle ADF course to find that the copy of Jdeveloper (10.3.3.0) used on the course has more extensions installed by default than the version on the web site. (all the cool ADF stuff we were using on the course!)
    I can't find these extensions available on the "check for updates" option on JDeveloper, and the guides on using ADF with JDeveloper on the oracle site are over 3 years old.
    I don't particularly want to rely on a copy of JDeveloper I got from a CD on a training course... I should be able to install the same setup from oracle downloads.
    I've searched the forums, but to no avail - I suspect that I'm perhaps looking at this issue from the wrong angle.

    OK, these are the extensions that are in the training course version, but not in mine:
    ADF Faces Cache
    ADF Model
    ADF Security (Design Time)
    ADF Struts Page Flow Modeler
    ADFm DC Adapter
    BC4J Framework Installer
    BI Beans Graph

  • [Newbie] Which JDeveloper version for latest ADF Mobile?

    Hi.
    I was going to upgrade to JDeveloper 12c, but the download page says "Download JDeveloper 11.1.2.4 to leverage ADF Mobile".
    Does that mean that for the purpose of using ADF Mobile - which is indeed my intension - I should use 11.1.2.4 instead of the latest 12c? Or should I install 12c and will I still have full use of ADF Mobile?
    Thanks.
    Joseph

    Yes, this is correct. At the moment ADF Mobile development is done using 11.1.2.4.0 instead of 12c.
    With the next release of 12c (12.1.3)  we should see adf mobile in 12c version. However, as I'm not an Oracle employee, I can't guarantee this. We have to wait and see what we get.
    Doing your development in 11.1.2.4.0 is already using some features of 12c and an later upgrade to 12c should not be painful.

  • JDeveloper & Oracle XE without ADF?

    I work in an Oracle shop with all the goodies, but for home use, I'd like to try JDeveloper & Oracle XE. Unfortunately, JDeveloper does not come with an ADF license except for development/test.
    How hard is it to use JDeveloper without ADF for creating basic data-entry forms, when both the database (XE) and JDeveloper are on the same system (a PC running XP in my case)? Assuming this is "reasonable", are there any good tutorials? Everything seems to assume ADF.

    While JDeveloper IS heavily oriented toward ADF, it is quite possible to develop everything 'manually'. As a framework, 'all' ADF does is provide the templates and the glue for all the related classes for an application.
    It depends entirely on how basic you want to get - for example, do you want to do build the app using basic Swing components? These apps can be extremely suffisticated, but are generally not 3-tier. Then the next step might be 'Web Start'. JSPs invoking PL/SQL server packages is a fair choice for 3-tier. Add a controller and you basically have the beginnings of what ADF provides.
    For tutorials - have you looked at java.sun.com (under demos and tutorials) or on otn.oracle.com under Tutorials/JDeveloper (
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/index.htm)
    Are you planning on deploying any of these apps into a production environment, or are they entirely in your environment? I suspect Oracle may not care about your use of ADF as long as there is no money involved ... for example, you are not using the apps to run a business. That, of course, is not a legal opinion (nor do I work for Oracle, so it is not a binding statement.)

  • JDeveloper popup window using ADF Faces

    Has anyone actually managed to get a popup window working properly using ADF Faces? I have slavishly copied examples from the Developer's Guide, but nothing works - I never get a popup window appearing.

    I'm back again and unfortunately I haven't got this to work. I've scaled down my jsp to just include enough to test the pop-up functionality.
    First here's the code from my jsp page(index.jsp):
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html" prefix="afh"%>
    <!-- import tag libraries -->
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" prefix="af" %>
    <f:view>
    <afh:html>
    <afh:head title="JSF Test Pop-up Page">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>
    <meta name="MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" content="true"/>
    </afh:head>
    <afh:body>
    <af:commandLink text="Test Pop-up" action="dialog:test" useWindow="true"/>
    </afh:body>
    </afh:html>
    </f:view>
    and here's a copy of faces-config.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    <!DOCTYPE faces-config PUBLIC
    "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JavaServer Faces Config 1.1//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-facesconfig_1_1.dtd">
    <faces-config xmlns="http://java.sun.com/JSF/Configuration">
    <application>
    <default-render-kit-id>oracle.adf.core</default-render-kit-id>
    </application>
    <!-- Navigation Rules -->
    <navigation-rule>
    <from-view-id>/index.jsp</from-view-id>
    <navigation-case>
    <from-outcome>dialog:test</from-outcome>
    <to-view-id>/results.jsp</to-view-id>
    </navigation-case>
    </navigation-rule>
    </faces-config>
    According to the docs on ADF Dialog Framework this is all I need to have in place in order for it to work. What am I missing?
    Thanks again to all replies.

  • JDeveloper 10.1.2 - ADF BC - get last date from a view in validation

    Hello
    I have a list of subscribers. One person can be several times in this list with start and end dates.
    How can I get the last end date when I try to add a new row to validate it?

    Thanks. I tried to use the alternative writeXml(long, HashMap) method. This results in:
    * Defining a bidirectional viewlink, using the viewlink and using writeXml(long, HashMap): ok.
    * Defining a bidirectional viewlink, using the association (not the bidirectional viewlink) and using writeXml(int, long): error.
    * Not defining a bidirectional viewlink: always ok.
    So it seems that using the bidirectional viewlink alone does not account for the error, but that the writeXml(int, long) automatically traverses too much viewlinks and gets into an infinite loop. Controlling which viewlinks, viewobjects, attributes to use like the code in your example worked out.
    Is it still possible to set the depth count when using the writeXml(long, HashMap) method?
    I noticed that the com.sun.java.util.collections.HashMap class is used. In thread JSP with BC4J on JBoss requires com/sun/java/util/collections/HashMap you explain this is for upward compatibility. Do you know if it is scheduled to be replaced by the Java collection classes since JDeveloper 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 use JDK 1.4.2 and JDK 1.5? It was pretty confusing at first sight why the java.util.Map class wasn't used.
    Thanks, Ronald

  • ADF is not working in JDeveloper 10g

    Hi all,

    Now that I've looked at the linked article...
    That was showing you how to use a very early version of ADF Faces (a pre-release, in fact) with a very old version of JDeveloper. That document is nearly 9 years old.
    Starting with JDeveloper 10.1.3, ADF Faces is "built-in"
    And since JDeveloper 10.1.3.x, we have had both the JDeveloper 11.1.1.x and 11.1.2.x series released.
    Why are you still using 10.1.2.x?

  • How to install ADF Mobile extension to JDeveloper on OSX 10.8.2

    Using the info from the following discussion thread it was pretty straightforward to install jdeveloper to OSX 10.8.2.
    Re: Jdeveloper install on os x lion (10.7.5)
    as well as the blog posts
    http://adf4beginners.blogspot.be/2012/10/installing-jdeveloper-on-mac-osx-108.html
    https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/installing_jdeveloper_on_mac_os
    Now the issue is that when I try to install the ADF Mobile extension I run into problems:
    I tried installing both directly from the update centres as well as from local file, but the
    only extension available after restart is the "ADF Mobile Help" (oracle.adf.mobile.doc).
    I can also see from the startup console a lot of warning messages of type as indicated below.

    you gave me the courage to move along, and I stumbled across some info
    (should have given a link here, but not able to find the most correct one right now)
    As a matter of fact it seems like several postings in blogs and discussion forums touch this area.
    Just wonder if we could smooth this process a bit.
    issuing this command sequence, did the trick:
    sudo mkdir -p /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    sudo ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/classes/classes.jar rt.jar
    Then for jdk location I selected
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Contents/Home

  • JDeveloper, Toplink, and ADF advice.

    We have application that was completely developed JDeveloper 10.1.3/4 with Toplink, JSF, ADF, and Session Facade; extremely similar to the SRDemo.
    I am want to upgrade to JDeveloper 11g; however, the ADF Faces JSF will be migrated to Apache MyFaces Trinidad.
    1. Why would this be better than migrating to ADF Faces 11g? Pros and cons?
    2. Is Apache MyFaces Trinidad the future of Oracle's ADF?
    3. What would be the best approach for upgrade to Toplink and ADF 11g?
    Thank you.

    1. Why would this be better than migrating to ADF Faces 11g? Pros and cons?It won't be better than using ADF Faces 11g - it is just more feasible for automatic conversion - we can't do automatic conversion from ADF FAces 10.1.3 to ADF Faces 11g since the UI capabilities are so drastically different. We migrate to Trinidad to allow you to combine Trinidad and ADF Faces 11g in the same application. (You can't use ADF Faces 10.1.3 and 11g in the same application).
    2. Is Apache MyFaces Trinidad the future of Oracle's ADF?No. ADF Faces Rich Client is the present and future. Those are based on Trinidad.
    3. What would be the best approach for upgrade to Toplink and ADF 11g?The basic thing to do is open the application in JDeveloper 11g - things should work after the migration.
    Then you can start leveraging new capabilities such as the new ADF Faces 11g UI in new parts of the application.
    You might want to ask on the TopLink forum if they have any specific migration tips.
