I've been with BT on a 12 month renewable contract for free evening & weekend calls last few years now. I have just recently cancelled my contract to go to SKY.
My contract was up for renewal in January.
I have been charged £15.25 for cancelling
£10.35 for cancelling unlimited evening & weekend calls.
I originally paid up front for my yearly line rental saver. I was told that I wouldn't be charged anything as I was in my 2nd year of my renewable contract.
Is what I have been charged correct?

Using the Egg vs Chicken app yesterday I tried to purchased a bucket of stars in the app for $15.99, however, the stars didn't appear but I have been charged for them, twice! How do I go about getting a refund or getting the stars?

Hi, we trialed from central and have bought the plus version but have still been charged for another month of the trial. Would you be good enough to refund the charge please considering we have bought the main product?
After much back and forth drama, and the assistance of one awesome person at Apple, and also a great iTunes representitive, they have agreed to refund me.
I have not yet recieved the refund but will post here when I do.

I was downloading some songs when I lost my internet connection. There is no sign that these songs reached my iTunes but i have been charged for these songs anyway. What should I do?
It's possible that the message you got was to update the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) firmware...and that something might have gone wrong during the upgrade.
Let's start by performing a "factory default" reset on the AX to get it back to it's original "out-of-the-box" condition.
Then, let's set it up to work with your cable modem...
AirPort Express Base Station Setup (AX) w/High-Speed Cable Modem
Modem/Router Power ReCycling (optional)
- Power-off the Cable modem, AX, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
- Power-on the Cable modem; Wait at least 30 minutes.
- Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
- Power-on the computer(s)
Setup the AX
With the network components powered down, set up the AX, using the AirPort Admin Utility, either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- AirPort Network Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Create a closed network (unchecked)
- Wireless Security: Not enabled
- Channel: Automatic
- Mode: 802.11b/g Compatible
Internet tab
- Connect Using: Ethernet
- Configure: Using DHCP
- WAN Ethernet Port: Automatic
Network tab
- Distribute IP addresses (checked)
- Share a single IP address (using DHCP & NAT) (enabled)
Do not, at this point, set up any security (i.e., WEP/WPA encryption, closed network, etc.) to first make sure the AX is operating properly. Try to access the Internet wirelessly with your MacBook. If you're successful, go ahead and add any security features you wish. -

Help! I tried to download a rental but my iPad had no space for it. Then I couldn't cancel the rental and I've been charged for it even when I haven't downloaded it and haven't seen it. What can I do?
Here are a couple of things that you can try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. -

The film never got to my deviceIf this was a purchase, not a rental, clear enough space on the device so that the movie will fit, then look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and select that. You may find the movie there to be downloaded. If not, check the Purchases area of the iTunes Store and you may be able to download the movie there:

Basically... Last night I entered a giftcard code I recently received from apple, all went through at had £15 on my Itunes. Last night I made a purchase of a film. This morning I checked and I still had the remaining credit of 15 pounds, my email informed me I have been build and my bank account still says I have the same balance that previously had so I know i haven't been charged. It's the same app (e.g. it hasn't changed developers), you haven't changed countries since buying it, you are using the same account that you originally bought the app with ? And how did you redownload the app ? Can't locate email content? All of a sudden my email content has disappeared from inside MacMail? The actual emails are coming through but I am unable to view them in the content area! Nothing has been done to have changed this?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -

You should still be under warranty. First try rebooting the iPhone by pressing and holding both the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time until the Apple symbol appears, ignoring the power off slider. You should get indications of life within about 10 seconds while holding the buttons.

since getting the 'new' ipad, my old one hasn't been used. I tried it early today and it does nothing. It has been on a charge for a few hours now, the apple logo screen blinks occasionally but that is still all it will do? Is this normal and will eventually work or is something wrong with it?
Maybe it has taken umbrage at being dwarfed by the new model!
Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!
