Labour cost for Assembly

Dear my friends,
Please advise me in below case :
We do assembly service ex : from PC + Windows into PC with Window installed.
I need to manage labour cost for assembly job, please help to show me the way (step by step).
Thanks

Hi,
First of all you need to calculate the labor timings required for the Job to be performed.
You need to create cost center in KS01, Secondary cost element for labor in KA06 and Activity type for labor in KL01. Assign this Activity type to cost center with proper rate per unit in KP26. Ex. If your unit of labor is Minute, and your rate for the labor is say $1 per min, then assign it in KP26. You can take help from your CO consultant
Now you need to create the Work Center with Labor Category in transaction CR01. Then assign proper standard value key, which contains the labor as a parameter. Assign newly created Cost center and Activity type with proper other parameters in Work center Costing tab.
Create Routing for that material in CA01. Assign this work center to it with proper operation timings.
When ever you confirm the production order, enter the actual timings required for the job. system will do the calculation in the background. Ex. If you required 30 min. for that operation, your cost of that job will be $30. This will be post in the system after settlement.
Hope this will clear your doubt. If further assistance required then please revert.

Hiren

    Hi,
Planned cost is nothing but the Standard values which you give for each opearation in the routing.
The actual values from the confirmation for production order
The following table and fields you can get the values
PLPO, AFVC  - look for setup time, labor time, machine time  fields
AFRU - look for the required fields setup, labor, mcahine time etc

    Hi venkatesh,
There is a help transaction RKACSHOW, to display all the costs related information for a CO-Object, in your case the oder. The involved table name is listed indirectly too. For example COSSA for the table COSS, and COSPA for table COSP and so on.

  • Planned cost for int labour and non stockable material not visible

    Hey gurus,
While creating an order with a material, ext service, non stock material, I am able to see the planned cost for materials in stock and ext services procured. But i'm not able to see the planned cost for non stock material and int labour. However i'm able to see the actual cost for all the items. I think I have missed some config. Please help.

    Hi,
As said by Pithan there is a problem in costing variant for planned cost which you have assigned to prder type at plant level.
Problem underlies within valuation variant assigned to costing variant.PM01 is your costing variant here.Check diiferent heads within valuation variant for this costing variant. There under activities tab what is calculation parameter you have selected. If it is blank you will not get any internal activity cost. You need to select at least one from dropdown like cost from previous period or avaerage cost etc. Then you will get planned cost for internal activities.SAmething applies to non stock material.
Check in OKP6 for all these and make sure that you have selected at least one cost calculation schema there for activities and material and external.

  • Transfer Cost for Sub Assembly

The client have seveal sub assemblies that are transferred from other plant. However in certain scenario the current plant can make this sub assembly. In the buying plant BOM exists for these sub assemblies. Now, how can achive the following -
1: Transfer cost from selling plant to buying plant
2: Since the major quantity is transferred from selling plant, this transfer cost should be et as standard cost for this sb assembly
3: The cost from BOM roll up should NOT be set as standard cost
Thanks for your input on this.

    Dear Anusha,
If your sub-assembly (semi-Finished ) products are having a released standard cost estimate for the
period, again while taking the costing run for some other FERT(Higher level assembly)materials the same
will be taken into consideration for this new material, and again the system wont make new calculations
    for the same.
Say suppose if B is a sub-assembly which is used in making A and C.
Now let's assume first you take a cost rollup for A ,at that time the system will do the calculation for B
also.Provided if you are doing it in CK40N.
Again while taking the cost rollup for C,already calculated value for B will be used.
    check and revert back.

  • How Can i Book cost for the rectification of damaged materials??

    Dear Sir,
Need Your Suggestion regarding settlement of cost for the damaged parts.
We had supplied One assembly to Client with single invoice. During transportation One of the part of that assembly get damaged. Client has sent back only that part back for the repairing and accept rest of the materials.
Which procedure should i follow for the rectification of that damaged parts in SAP and How can i book the cost of the required materials and labour??
    Thanks,
    Rajnil K Kalola

    Hi Rajnil,
You need to do CO11N confirmation of rework order. Since settlement profile is entered as orginal production order all the cost incurred on rework order will get settled to the orginal order. Even if orginal production order is TECO Technically completed you can post cost. Once order is CLSD Closed you cannot post any cost.
Refer the below Help for more details on Returns.

  • GR Cost not updating as Target Cost for process orders

    Dear SAPians,
We are facing an issue in Target Vs Actual cost reporting for process orders. We are creating a process order after cost estimate of that material and doing the confirmations for activity cost. After that, GR has been done for the finished goods of that process order. That GR entry is updating the Actuals values but not updating the Target cost. When I am checking the standard report KKBC_ORD, I am getting the following figures.
Cost Elemnt Text     |     Target Cost     |     Actual Cost     |     Target Vs Act
    Inventory Chnge FG     |     0     |     1,472,205.60-     |     1,472,205.60-
    Packing Matrl Cons.     |     1,148,142.37     |     1,252,752.68     |     104,610.31
    Raw Material Cons.     |     60,463.91     |     50,688.29     |     224.38
    Semi-Fin Matrl Cns.     |     181,934.68     |     367,959.56     |     186,024.88
    Labour Cost Activity     |     39,735.36     |     39,862.80     |     127.44
    Machine Cst Activty     |     41,611.75     |     43,153.01     |     1,541.26
That 'Inventory Change FG' entry is showing the GR posting updating actuals and not target cost. This is causing huge difference in target vs actual cost that will affect the profit and loss figures ultimately.
What am I missing here? What should I do to update the GR amount in Target cost as well.
    Shirazi

    Dear,
Target Cost on Production Order or Process Order is shown only when Variance is Calculated.
So please calculate the Variance, system will show the Total Target Cost.

  • Error-M2O-Settlement rule for assembly order for item...could not be genera

    Hi,
When I am creating Sales Order (VA01) for M2O, I am able to do the costing and copy the EK02 condition type. I have verified the the incompletion log, it indicates that document is complete.
But while saving the sales order, the below error message is displaed:
Settlement rule for assembly order for item 000010 could not be generated. Should the order still be saved?
                    Yes/No
    1. If No is choosen the following error message is displayed
           Error when processing Production order
          Error when processing Production order
          Message no. V1380
          Diagnosis
A technical error has occurred. On calling up the assembly interface, exception 5 was triggered. The exceptions have the  following meanings:
1 = External block,  2 = General error,  3 = Insufficient data for the interface,  4 = Order was not found, 5 = Update has been rejected, 6 = Final document number for Production order is not issued.  Procedure: Inform your system administrator.
    2. If Yes is choosen, it is creating Production Order without settlement rule. Able to perform GI & Gr. If I try to enter settelement rule (Settlement receiver SDI - Sales document item) in production order (CO02), the belwo error message is displayed
"Distribution rule for Sales document item can only be created automatically Message no. KD063"
We are using the requierement class with below details:
    Reqmts class: ZSO- for M2O
    AAC = E, Valuation = A, Settlement profile =SD1, RAKey = 000004, Assembly type = 3.
    Settlement profile contain:
Allocation structure, PA structure, Default object type = SDI. Valid receivers: Optional -Sales Order / Prof. seg.
If I make the Valuation field as blank in Reqmts class, there is no error while creating Sales order. And also Settelemnt rule with sales document item as receiver is successfully creating for the production order. Since the Valuation is blank in requirement class, it is Non valuated Sales order stock. All GIs & GR are non valuated
The business requirement is it should be valuated sales order stock and the production varinaces has to be settled to Sales order. Then Sales order has to be settled to COPA.
Need your valuable inputs to meet this requirement.
Let me know if you need any further details.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Additional cost for finished goods

    Hi all,
Here we are following fifo method valuation. we are using SAP B1 2007B PL 04.
I have a doubt how do we account the additional cost like Rent, Electricity etc.
and What G/L Account need to specify at determination level. Here we are determing G/L account with account groups.
I have a document for that but that doesnt give me clear picture of additional cost and
    G/L accounts.
Kindly explain me in details with respectives to G/L Accounts
    Regards
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi,
static costs should be included in a BOM as standard cost items. This will add to the item cost of the finished product.
Have a look at our Wiki here (Expert on Phone Newsletter April 2008):
[How to include labour cost in a BOM.|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/B1/Howtoincludelabourcostina+BOM.]
You can substitute other costs for 'labour'.
    All the best,

    Muzamil

    Hi,
    1. Costing for the Quotation: For you I recommend to go for the Easy cost planning option.
Please go through the following link:

    2. For the workforce planning: you can carry out in SAP via capacity planning and if you wish to do it outside SAP then only the cost can be captured for the labour cost via activities in Project System.

    in configuration.

    Hi,
In KP26, Do not maintain Fixed and variable price, But maintain only labour hours. U can go directly to KP26 and remove the fixed and variable price.

  • Direct labour cost

    Hello all,
I want to capture direct labour cost and raw material cost in COPA  where i can map the value field to capture it.
    Suggest.

    Hi Prem,
You have a seperate component in COPA where you can do this configuration and attach all the components of the cost component structure of the the cost estimate to be flown to COPA.
Normally we take COGS from VPRS condition type in SD and attached it to COPA condition type.
But when you need a details cost break up of the product cost, then you need to do this particulat configuraion
Menu path: IMG>Controlling>Profitability analysis>Master data>Valuation-->Setup Valuation using material cost estimate
    The configuration steps are:
    1. Define Access to Standard Cost Estimates
    2. Assign Costing Keys to Products
    3. Assign Costing Keys to Material Types
    4. Assign Costing Keys to Any Characteristics
    5. Assign Value Fields
Once you do this configuration, you will get the details break up that can be used for Contribution statement in COPA.
    Best regards
    Surya
