Landscape is converted to portrait

When I use the PDF converter to convert a document to excel, it changes the document from landscape to portrait, pushing the data to the bottom of the page.

Open both PDF documents.
For each document window, choose Thumbnails or Contact Sheet from the View menu.
Drag each page’s thumbnail image from its original document to the other document.A rectangle encloses the other document’s thumbnails when you drag over them. If you don’t see a rectangle, the pages won’t be included in the PDF file, but they do appear in the other document’s window.
The page remains in the original document and is copied to the other document.

    Yes I may.
Searching in existing threads before asking would be an efficient practice.
Your question was asked and responded many times.
A Pages document can't contain two orientations.
It's entirely Landscape or entirely Portrait.
_Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'10

You can't.  But you could add a text box and rotate it (select the box, click arrange, rotate).

  • Put a Landscape page in a Portrait format Document

    Hi guys,
Any idea how come put a Landscape page in all Portrait format Document? Some tables needs to go on landscape format as is a scientific report and the author wanted this way.
    Thanks for any clue,
    Cheers,
    Sebastiao

Depends on your version, and what you mean by a landscape page.
CS 4 allows you to rotate a spread view, but the page size and shape remain the same. This is what most people mean by a landscape page in a portrait doc, but you might really mean a page the same height, but wider, that needs to fold out -- common in technical work. For that you need to add a page or more to your spread (and don't forget that page also has a reverse, so add it to the corresponding opposite spread, too).
For earlier versions of ID you can rotate the text frame on the page where the table goes and tip your head, or you can make a separate document and combine it in a book, but ultimately you'll need to either rotate it back for printing or do the fold-out as above, so I'd stick with rotating the frame for just one or two tables.
Fold-out pages require special handling and a discussion with the printer.

  • How do I convert a Landscape oriented slide to portrait?

I'm trying to create a Flow Chart for a course I'm taking, and it would be more efficient to be in portrait orientation versus landscape.

  • Adding landscape page into a portrait oriented document

As mentioned in the title, I have a portrait oriented document and would like to add a (big) table into this document. Because the table is too big in portrait, I'd like to change one page to landscape mode so I can add the table.
Is this possible without having to install the old iWork '09 or making converting the table to an image?

    Hi Eendj3;
Pages (v5.5.1) lacks many features including this.
    Regards,

  • Since the upgrade to 8.1.2, I can only use "messaging" in landscape mode and not portrait.  Anyone else having this problem?

I unable to view or type messages vertical or portrait mode...it appears to be locked in horizontal or landscape mode. Any suggestions?

What user troubleshooting have you tried? User steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. There is no lock for the iPhone in Landscape mode, so I believe a reset should help. Also, double-tap the home button and bring up the multi-tasking bar, find the Messages app and then swipe upwards on the app thumbnail to force it closed.

  • A landscape file opens in landscape on one machine,  portrait on another

My wife made some invoices using Pages 09 on her iMac in landscape mode. Now, when she opens the file, it loads in portrait mode (screwed up, obviously). However, if I grab that file and open on my MBPro running Pages 09, the file opens and prints just fine. I've reinstalled iWork 09 on her machine, deleted caches etc. When she launches Pages, she can select her file via the thumbnail view, which, in fact, shows the file in landscape mode. Any idea how to solve this problem? I even re-saved the file on my machine and sent it back to hers. The new file, landscape on my MBPro, opens in portrait on her iMac. Thoughts? suggestions? I checked preferences, and Page Setup doesn't do anything to the current layout.

You deleted caches, but did you delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences? This is Pages preference file & would appear to be corrupt.

  • What could cause a printer to print in Landscape but not in Portrait mode?

    Hello gurus,
We recently migrated our application from windows to linux. Specs are as follows
    OS: RHEL 6
    DB: 11.2.0.3
    App: 12.1.3
Upon testing it was noticed that Oracle Applications successfully prints output files if they are in landscape mode but no output is received at the printer if the output is of portrait type.
The request ids show status 'Completed Normal' in both the cases.
Also printing directly from linux results in successful prints for both landscape and portrait.
The same issue exists when defining type as '--PASTA Universal Printer Type' or 'HPLJ4'
Any idea what files or settings could be causing this behaviour?

  • Way to have comic book display two pages in landscape and one in portrait?

I'm trying to use iBooks Author to build a very simple manga-style graphic novel.  It's based on a print book (with a lot of unconventional frame use), so I'm not using any fancy interactive features or individual-frame zoom-ins or such.
What I want to do is very simple and seems obvious:  In landscape, I want two images (one for each page) to display side by side.  In portrait, I want a single image to fill the whole display.
Preferably the portrait view will also display one image/page at a time and require page turns, like landscape, rather than a continuous vertical strip of images.
I assume I'm overlooking something really obvious, but I can't seem to figure out how to get this to work in portrait, and searching, or even buying a graphic novel template from a professional studio (they just disabled portrait), hasn't helped.  I can set up landscape well enough, but if I check the option to share images with portrait, I just get little inline thumbnails in the continuous-scroll-style vertical view, when what I want is large, single-page images.  (Perhaps what I'm really asking is how to disable the infinite scrolling mode in portrait view?)
I'm sure the answer to this will be something simple that makes me feel like an idiot, but I would tremendously appreciate any help.

Thanks for the suggestion, K T.
I'd already read through several of those tips lists, and I was aware that the page turn animation was exclusive to epub documents.  I was assuming there would be some way to display a full-screen image in portrait view with an .ibooks file, but perhaps that's not currently the case (which, admittedly, seems like a huge oversight on devices with less-than-10" screens).
I could accept a continuously-scrolling portrait mode if that's a requirement, but I'd at least need to expand the page-images to fill the column, which is where I also wasn't having any luck with.  It seems like doing a new section for each page might be a sort of hack, to get around this as well, although it might preclude re-using the images in portrait view.
(I probably also should have mentioned that I realize I could build this as an .epub or PDF book and get it to do more or less what I want, but there would be annoying faux-gutter and borders that I'd prefer to avoid, and iBooks Author otherwise seems to be capable of producing exactly the material I'm looking for with a lot less work than hand-coding an ePub file.)

  • Iphoto printing - preview is landscape, but prints out portrait

This is a recurring issue when I print photos.  The preview shows a landscape oriented picture, but it prints in portrait orientation. How do I correct this?
The settings for the current photo are as listed:
    Brother MCF-J425W
    US Letter
    Color
    Aspect Ratio: Custom
    Photo Size: 4.8 x 6.8
    iPhoto 9.6
    OX S Yosemite

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try printing again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

  • Video recorded in landscape only plays in portrait mode on HD tv

I recently obtained iphone 5s. I've recorded several videos with the phone, in landscape mode. When I try to play the videos connected to my tv via HDMI A/V cable the videos will only play back in portrait mode (quality is distorted and horrible).
Same goes for the videos recorded in landscape mode on my old 4s (which prior to IOS 7 would play back in proper mode).
Phone is not locked in portrait mode.
Video will play on phone in landscape mode...just won't play in landscape on the TV.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any assistance!
    D.

I had the same exact problem.  Some of my landscape videos would get squashed into a portrait size view on the TV.
What I did as a workaround was to hold the phone in portrait mode, play the landscape video, and if it didn't fill the screen correctly, I would swipe the video as if I was going to another video/photo, but without lifting my thumb/finger, swipe it back so that it returns to the original position.
What happens is that the video on the TV screen should resize into a smaller landscape image (with the circle play button in the middle of the image).  Then usually when I hit the play button again, it will play properly in landscape mode and, more or less, fill the screen properly.
I find it odd that so few others have faced this issue.

  • How to make sure text in landscape mode appeared in portrait?, How to make sure text in landscape mode appeared in portrait?

I think a few pictures speak a thousand words. I try to get creative and design some pages in landscape mode.
This is how the TOC looks like in landscape. As you can see there is a chapter and many pages. I didn't use sections to make sure that they don't appeared as a list in TOC page.
This is how Chapter page looks like.
But when viewed in portrait mode. nothing appeared.
How shall I make sure that at least the text in chapter page goes there?
    Thanks!

If I add a text box, it does not seem that inline is an option.
When I create the chapter page, the bottom part is empty, but I do not know how to add text. If I add a text box, it is not inline.
I hope to be able to add inline text which appeared at the bottom, possible?

  • Crystal XI craxdrt.dll - rpt orientation = landscape... viewer = Portrait

I have a situation where some reports are displaying in the viewer in Portrait rather than landscape.  The user can then click the print setup, and landscape will already be selected, but the user must physically click on landscape, and then click ok on the print setup, then refresh the report, and only then will the reprot display as landscape.  I've coded the viewer call to check the report definition for it's .paperorientation settings, and tried to force the viewer to use these, but to no avail.   We've found through trouble shooting that this is a user specific, profile issue (most likely in the registry)  because we can login as the same user on different machines, and the behavior is not seen on some machines, but is on others.  We also login as a different user on the primary user's machine, and we do not see this behavior.  I'm assuming there is a Registry entry that is saving this information, and I'd like to just blow away the registry entry, but I can't seem to narrow it down far enough.
Has anyone had this and found a solution?

One thing I would recommend is to always use the latest updates for your version of CR - both on the dev system and on the deployed systems. It is not clear as to the exact version of CR you are using (CR XI r1, or r2). If you are using CR XI r2, the latest updates are here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
and the latest runtime is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009381702008E/crxir2sp4_rdc_mm.zip
Updates can be looked up here:
    https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
Also, ensure you have the latest printer driver.

  • IOS7 iPad view is loaded in landscape mode instead of portrait mode

On iOS7, i have a viewController added as a subview to the root view controller like so:
    [self.view insertSubview:self.tutorialViewController.view aboveSubview:self.accessoriesView];
What happens is in viewDidLoad and in viewDidAppear, it loads with landscape mode dimensions, instead of portrait.
This also happens on iOS6 and bellow, but somehow it gets resized so this is not an issue. It seems that self.view.frame is not always reliable: http://bynomial.com/blog/?p=85
What could be the cause of this and how can i fix it?
