LaserJet CP1525n – white crack-like patterns on black with new cartridge

Greetings.
I have installed a new black cartridge (CE320A) into my LaserJet CP1525n color printer.
To test it, I printed a completely black page and this is what i got:
http://i.imgur.com/HcdwOAb.jpg
As you can see, first of all, there are noticeable lines throughout the sheet,
but then there is also this crack/scratch-like pattern reoccuring at even distance.
Can I do anything to fix this defect in the cartridge or will I have to buy a new one?

Hi @Fureon,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are getting crack/scratch-like pattern on black with your HP LaserJet CP1525n. I am happy to look into this for you!

  • White A1016 wireless keyboard not pairing with new MacBook Pro

I still have (and love) the original white bluetooth Mac keyboard (model A1016, with numeric keypad and function keys). It won't pair to my new MacBook Pro. It's discoverable, appears in the list, I can select it and try to pair. Then it sits with the spinning wheel for some time before giving up.
Oddly, if I press "return" during the spinning, it (very) briefly displays the passcode, but of course by then it's too late, and fails saying that I got the passcode wrong!
This appears to be a Bluetooth system preference problem - is anyone else seeing this?
This Apple technote suggests that this keyboard should work with iOS, whereas the original aluminium one doesn't (although it's not entirely clear)... if it works with iOS, I can't see why it won't work with OS X 10.8.4!

My old Bluetooth Mighty Mouse won't work with my newer MBP running Mountain Lion, either. I suspect that the keyboard is incompatible with your new machine/OS X 10.8.x.

  • Black ink no longer works even with new cartridge

After trying 2 new cartridges, the black ink seems to have suddenly stopped working. I've done Status Report, Quality Report, Clean Printhead, and Align Printer. Color all works fine. On Quality report the black box is blank. I tried copying a sheet with black typing. A black copy was blank. A color copy had a slight brown printing.

Sorry to hear this. I'm going to help follow up on this for you (you should be hearing from someone via private message). I take it you're based in the US, right?

Have tried everything your support page & help screens suggest:
originally was only printing top several inches of page
    now prints no black text
    unplugged
diagnostic pages  ........ shows no diagnosis, no black square, color squares are very vivid
    test pages are blank
    uninstalled printer
    reinstalled printer
    cleaned heads
    bought new black cartridge
    STILL NO BLACK..................

C6280 has separate ink cartridges and printhead. It sounds like the printhead maybe badly clogged or failed.
I would suggest try "clean printhead" a few more times, if still no black printed, the printhead may have reached it's endoflife.

  • Brand New HP Officejet 4632 printer with new cartridges. Black ink showing empty

I just bought a brand new HP Officejet 4632 printer and as soon as I put in the ink cartridges that came with the printer it said printing in single cartridge mode and the black ink shows empty. I haven't even used the printer yet and it already shows empty. What do I do?

    Hello bobboman11,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the ink cartridges in your new printer.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Take the ink out of the printer and with a lint free cloth and some bottled water, lightly dampen the cloth and clean the metal contacts on the cartridges and the contacts on the carriage.  Make sure every thing is dry and make sure that the protective cover is completely off of the ink.  Insert the ink in to the printer and attempt a test print.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • HP Officejet 4620 All in One Not Printing Black-BRAND new cartridge

Hello everyone, I am hoping SOMEONE can help me, as this has taken up hours of time and resulted in plenty of frusteration. I just replaced my black ink cartridge, and not a single drop of black ink will print. I have  genuine cartridges, and cleaned the print heads, both steps one and two, atleast twice each. In the meantime I have since used up all my color ink, which is still working. But black does not show up AT ALL. Sure, I could buy more color cartridges and use them to print black, but at this point, I do not want to put any more money into this printer if it's not going to work properly. I am desperate for an solution! I run a small business from home and I NEED my printer. My warranty expired a few months ago and am really hoping I don't have to pay for phone support.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get black to print properly?? PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!

  • Will not print black. ink cartridge is new. also shows low black level with new cartridge.

HP Photosmart C6180  all-in-one.  Will not print Black.  Also shows low black ink on ink level.  Cartridge is new and HP brand.
In printing colors, very light and has RED hue as there is no black.  Also two other cartridges show low ink when all the cartridges have been replaced.

    Hi there,
Download and run the print and scan doctor located here (amoung resolving some things automatically it can give us a better idea of what is going on with the printer). Give the steps outlined a shot and let us know the results.

  • Wont print black, even with new cartridge

Officejet 4620 running mac Maveric,  I have worked every step in the trouble shooting page.  Reinstalled the driver.  Restarted both computer and printer.  This problem started very abrubtly.  I doubt this is involved, but it started right after an adobe update of some kind.  all other colors seem to work fine.  The cartridge read 75% full but I tried installing a new one anyway and got the same result. Any help is much appreciated.

I've also done all the above with no results.  I noticed that my black was beginning to fade until there was nothing.  If the printhead is dead - which is cheaper? have is replaced or buy a new printer?
Hi Bill, which printer model do you have? Is it within warranty? Typically warranty is ~1yr from date of purchase. You should be able to check by entering the serial no. below...

  • Won't print black ink with new cartridge

I have read all advise. Black stopped printing. New genuine HP cartridges. Did partial and whole resets. Cleaned printhead. Removed all cartridges and case and cleaned well. Very gunky. Still won't print HELP ME! Have read thru all the posts and did everything

The post here may help resolve black not printing on your Offcieejt 6500, go through all the troubleshooting steps in the document referenced there and if that does not resolve the issue then try soaking the printhead.
If this does not resolve the issue you may need to replace the printhead.

Diagnostic printout confirms no black, but it prints the black text on the diagnostic page OK. I have 2 unused cartridges that both do the same thing.

I would suspect the cartrdiges  - the diagnostc page will print black text using the color cartrdige if necessary.  Try printing the diagnostic page with the color cartridge removed, you will probably get a blank page.  Try gently blotting the printhead on a damp tissue.  A good cartridge will leave a strong black streak on the tissue.  If it is a weak smudge the cartridge is the issue.
If the cartridge blot leaves a strong black mark then check the diagnostic page.  For a working black cartrdige line 61 and 66 should be 0, please report on lines 63, 64, 65 and 67.
If line 66 is not 0 then try cleaning the cartrdige contacts.  Also check the x-bais spring and make sure it has not become dislodged as shown here.  If the x-bias spring has been dislodged then check and make sure the flex circuitry has not been damaged as shown in the picture. If the flex is damaged your printer will require service.

  • Some pictures in I-Photo seem to be corrupted. When I click on them, the photo comes up for a second, then the picture turns black with a white fuzzy circle inside it and what looks like an explanation mark. Some older, some newer,  no common thread.

Some pictures in I-Photo seem to be corrupted. When I click on them, they come up for a second, then turn black with a white circle in the middle and what looks like an explanation mark. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to the photos that are a problem, some older ones, some newer, some albums have none, some albums have a lot.
    Thanks,
    Mark

time to time (when I have a chance), I will go to Finder, bring up ALL Images and start going through them to label them (before I put a label on them, they are simply listed as 123 jpg, 124 jpg etc.).
You're damaging the Library doing that, and that's the cause of your problem.
Never, ever, ever use the  All Images search and work on items in yoyr iPhoto Library. They must only be accessed via the iPhoto window.
Restroe from abck up or try rebuild the Library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
Next: You need to learn how to use iPhoto. There's no need to be dragging things to the desktop:
For help accessing your photos in iPhoto see this user tip:
