Linux server support

Question

What kinds of Linux server shares can the WD TV Live see? I don't count Samba because it's pretending to be Window$ and it's more difficult to set up than most Linux servers. I'm currently using NFS but the TV Live will not play any videos that are subdirectories of my NFS share so I'm hoping there are other options. I'f it doesn't support it, please add support for SSHFS.

I don't have any solution, media library will require write access but I do have a few suggestions that might help first, some info on my set up which worksUbuntu 14.04.1 LTS Server Edition exports file/media/Drives/Mini/Comedy 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,sync)

/media/Aufs/Cartoons 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,sync,fsid=10)and my file permissions again are-rwxrwxrwx don't know that any of the above will help, but there it is as for symlinksyour script will result in hard links that are invalid from the perspect of the WD because you're still using absolute pathsyou need to use relative path symlinks so single dot./ start the search in the current directorydouble dot../ start the search one directory up from current directory and -s for symbolic link the WD will use the following path to mount your nfs shares (again this is from the WD's perspective)/tmp/media/nfs/<IPaddressHere>/<sharenamehere> so let's start with an example that does not have permissions issuesexport both shares, with read/write access something like this/home/garrett/VideoTest/Videos2 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
/home/garrett/VideoTest/Videos1 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,sync)then restart your nfs servernext copy some testvideo.mp4 to Video2next cd to Video1next create relative symbolic link (while in the directory Video1) doln -s ../Video2/testvideo.mp4 ./testvideo.mp4this will create the symlink inside the Video1 folder using a relative path, which is valid from both the perspective of the server and the WD next and final step will be to play with the permissions, to find what works and what does not1. do you need to export both directories2. does your exports file need any special arguments to allow following symlinks3. what permissions worketc ... so then if we edit your script, note it's untested, but this might work to create the symlinksalso note the added -s, without it your script would have created hard links#!/bin/bash
