Same problem. Lumia 1020. Automatically set to Feb 2014.
Moderator's Note: Post was moved and amended the title.

Hi, ckamfung. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community! When did you start encountering this? Does your phone's date+time reset after it reboots? Try disabling the apps running in the background. Go to Battery Saver > select an app > turn off the "allow app to run in the background" option. And then, monitor the phone's behavior. You may also consider checking if there's an update available for your phone: Settings > phone update > check for updates.
For the date+time issue, it will change to the default values if you reset the phone by pressing down the power button for around 10 seconds. More info can be found here: Why do the date and time get reset by themselves in my Lumia phone?. Note that the link is intended for the US, but you may visit this link to go to your local support page: http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/support/locations/. We'd love to hear your response.

There are times when my Lumia 1020 spontaneously reboots.  It seems to  happen most often while I'm playing one of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection games.  Is there a fix underway for this issue?
    Thanks,

  • Lumia 920 random reboots and dropped mobile data a...

Hi! Wondering if anyone can shed some light on an issue I'm seeing with TWO Lumia 920 handsets?
Both were recently wiped for new users - full "reset your phone" option. After installing the Black update, the phones now randomly reset and reboot. In addition, they cannot seem to hold onto a data connection (either GPRS, 3G or H) - the mobile data connection works when the phone is first boot up, but loses connectivity some time later. Mobile data isn't restored unless the phone is turned off and on again. Totally scratching my head on this - and as it affects two phones, I'm pretty sure it isn't a faulty handset. Steps I've tried:
Swapping SIM cards around (including SIMS not associated with those two handsets)
Manually setting APN details (we're on Orange - also EE)
Installing Access Point app (which isn't installed as standard) for auto-configuration of APN
Toggling between 4G and 3G maximum connection speed settings
Manually selecting mobile network (i.e. disabling automatic network selection)
Wiping and resetting both phones (multiple times)
Installing fresh firmware image via the Nokia Software Recovery Tool
All these don't help! Frustratingly, everything works fine over WiFi - and I have observed that the random reboots only occur when data is being transmitted over mobile network. Both handsets belong to Orange UK (EE), and are updated with EE's approved Black firmware...
Anyone seen anything similar? Anyone come across a fix?!?

  • Lumia 820 random reboot

Hi all my girlfriend has the nokia 820 and is experiencing some issues with randon reboot and poor batery life I have googled a fair bit and still cannot get a straight answere. Will this be fixed with the portico update or is it more likely there is an issue or 2 with the phone?
    Thanks

The portico update does fix many of the random reboots that people have been experiencing. The other more common cause of random reboots is the sim card especially if it's old, worn, badly cut or faulty. A sim swap from the network would fix it in that case.

  • Lumia 920 Randomly Reboots / Cannot Be Turned Off

    Hello,
I have just bought a Lumia 920 today, and now have the problems described in the thread subject... Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me...
When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me
    Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Same thing on my Lumia 920 unit from ATT, received just today via online purchase. Began resetting within 30 minutes, and continues to do so, especially in places like voicemail and phone functions. Also fails to register initial settings like search engine (on every reset, goes back to Bing instead of Google) and other things I've had to re-configure 3 or 4 times. It took about four tries to get a Texas map database to download, despite using a home wi-fi right next to the wireless router.
I don't think this is a SIM problem at all, because the rests don't always take place in the phone section. And I've even turned the cell phone data feature off, and still the reboots. It MAY be the micro-USB connector, because since I've been charging the phone while initializing it, the resets happen with it inserted. But this is also the data cable, so if the unit resets all the time while moving huge chunks of desktop data, then it is useless. If the micro-USB connector is that rickety, more trouble is down the road.
This is a real shame, becuase I like the phone and was ready to switch from iPhone. Now I'm stuck with something I have to send back and try to get my old iPhone to work again, so at least I'll have some cell phone calls.
About eight hours of my time loading music, getting familiar, and configuring for my home desktop windows 8. If my Windows 8 desktop rebooted my machine eight times in only a few hours of initial usage, I'd be going back to old desktop as well.
Again, very sad, because this seemed to be a great phone with great features at a low-low price. I guess when it seems too good to be true, it is. iPhone may be falling behind in some ways, but at least it's been a reliable phone for three years.
Lucky I have 14 days money back, return to old phone, no questions asked. But it took less than half a day to figure out the phone didn't work.
About the only possible fix would be some firmware upgrade promised to fix it permanently, but they had better make a big deal about publicizing, or have a million returns on their hands.

  • Lumia 925 random reboot

Phone reboots anytime. No specific pattern. More often when using internet explorer, but can happen other times also like using Facebook app. Also gets warmed up.esp the top half of the back of the phone.

    sounds right.
are you using a 3rd party facebook application or the integrated connection to people?
if it is a 3rd party, try uninstalling that application and try another one.
when transferring data, your device does get hot and where you describe is where the main circuits on the motherboard are, soooo it gets hot when it is working.
your application may be getting "stuck" due to a bug in the code or corruption in the application (happens) causing a "short" forcing a shut down.
other times, not sure about your websites you visit, but if something hangs, could be reseting because of that too.
try to clear your phones cache.
    open IE/menu (...)/settings/"delete history"
could be a cookie or file trying to connect as well.
also, delete all your open tabs too, (...)/tabs/"X"
then do a soft reset after deleting your facebook app and clearing your IE.
    Soft Reset-
Hold Vol- & Pwr until the device shuts down
When the device vibrates and starts to reboot, release ONLY Pwr button, still holding the Vol-
When you see the (!) on your screen, then release the Vol- button and wait until the device boots.
Your device is now soft reset
then try using your facebook and IE again.

  • Lumia 1020 keeps rebooting after updating to 8.1 a...

Hi there, as the title sujests, I just installed the 8.1 and cyan updates and now my phone keep rebooting by itself.

@nick881 which operator do you use, in which country? Perhaps that adds information. Anyway, in a few days, Lumia Cyan should be available on the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. I would go for that rather than a hard reset, because it does a complete reset through re-applying the whole firmware+software.

  • Lumia 1020 slow data speed.

I have an unlocked ATT Lumia 1020 that is currently on T-Mobile service. Recently I had the speed be horribly low on LTE, it was usually running at 3,000 Kbp/s but now I average around 30 Kbp/s. I went to T-mobile and they said the slow speed is not on their end but probably because of the phone. I looked up for solutions but I can only find solutions for users that are in the UK and didn't work for me.

    Hi mrrwaffles,
Try going to Settings > mobile network > Highest connection speed. Make sure that you're not using a modified SIM card and it is properly inserted in the SIM card slot. If the issue persists, reboot your phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down keys simultaneously for 15 seconds. You may need to set the date and time after this operation. Also, check if all system apps are already updated. See this link. If the same thing happens, try updating your phone's software by going to Settings > phone update > check for updates. Let us know the outcome.

  • Lumia 620 randomly freezes and reboots

I knew a cheap windows phone is too good to be true. I've been getting random freezes and reboots without any reason at all. This is unacceptable, nokia should address this windows 8 issue afflicting wp 8 phones. Please don't tell be to do a soft or hard reset because we already know it won't fix the problem.

Hi, everyone. I've been having problems with random reboots ever since I bought my Lumia 620 and it was driving me crazy. It freezes up sporadically too, but I think I found a fix for rebooting issues.
When my cousin bought her Lumia 620 I immediately asked her if hers rebooted sporadically as well. She said it hadn't, not once. Then, one time her battery was dying so I gave her mine, and she left me with her battery and on charger while she went home. Anyway, hers started to reboot frequently, whilst mine was behaving ok.
When we replaced the batteries again, mine began rebooting again.
Finally, I checked both our batteries and found out mine was moving around the device more freely than hers. Hers was held firmly in place while mine danced around. Then I tried moderate, yet gentle tap on the side of my device and it rebooted EVERY TIME I tapped it. After I inserted a small, neatly folded piece of paper between the device and the battery, the battery clicked in place tightly and it couldn't move at all. Reboots stopped, no matter how strong I tapped the sides of the device.
This hasn't resolved any freezes, but at least it's not rebooting all the time. So check your battery, maybe it is a hairline thinner or smaller or whatnot from the rest of them and it can move around. A millisecond is enough for it to lose contact, half a millimeter of movement is enough to cause your phone to reboot. Hope this revelation of mine will help someone

  • Lumia 720 - Defective Audio Jack and Random Reboot...

I purchased a Lumia 720 from Amazon.com in the US. After about a month, sound was only coming from one headphone. I thought it just might have been my headphones, but then I tried them in a friends phone and they worked fine. Other headphones didn't work either unless it was over Bluetooth. I have also been experiencing freezing and random reboots. A friends factory reset it for me several times and the issues still persist.
I need to send it in for repair; I did verify that it is in-warranty.

this is mainly a user to user forum only for Nokia products and services, so we are of limited assistance to you here unfortunately. in this case, all we can do is direct you to your nearest Nokia Care location for inspection, if there is none nearby, then try contacting Nokia head office in your country of residence.

  • Random Reboots for Lumia 900

I bought a factory unlocked Lumia 900 from Amazon and now seeing random reboots every day. I put my phone down and after 10 mins if i check it, the phone is dead. I need to boot that up again. This is completely random. And now nokia is saying that this phone is not having international warranty since this phone was bought in Singapore and sold in USA by manufacturer.
Does anyone know\aware of any fix?

Have you checked this article for basic troubleshooting? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2749480
An update will be released to fix minor issues with the phone early 2013 but no specific date yet. With regards to the warranty, Nokia does not have international warranty. For full details, check here: http://www.nokia.com/sg-en/support/troubleshooting/nokia-manufacturer-s-limited-warranty/

  • Some of your Quick time is out of date. You can fix this problem by updatin

I am running Windows XP SP2 with V 7.1.3 of Quicktime. Every time I lauch QT, I get the error message:
"Some of your Quick time is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version."
I have gone onto Apple's web site and got the very latest I can see of QT, and no matter what I keep getting this message. I have 400 PC's in a school district that every time they lauch QT it gets this error. There are 2 tabs "update now" or "cancel". If we select Update now, it doesn't update because we already have the latest. So we just have to do "cancel". Has anyone seen this? Please help.

  • How SAP HR Handles dummy clock in/out time data?

    Dear all,
I have a question whether SAP HR has the function to handle dummy clock in/out time data.
    The scenario is like this:
    For an employee, his
daily work schedule: 8:00 to 17:30,
break time for meal: 12:15 to 13:00.
Employees always have dummy clock in/out time events. For example, when an employee arrives the company, he clocks at the first floor at 7:45, after he arrives fourth floor (his workplace), he forgets whether he has clocked in or not, then he will clock at the fourth floor at 7:50 again. Assume this employee is very muddle-headed and repeats this mistake many times a day, then his clock in/out event may become:
    7:45, 7:50, 12:15, 12:17, 12:50, 12:59, 17:35
Assume all the time events are entered to SAP, then the time pairs will be formed like:
    In        out        work hours
    7:45  -  7:50        0
    12:15 - 12:17        0
    12:50 - 12:59        0
    17:35 - ???          No clock out
Then this employee will be in trouble for that day.
We can know that in the above clock events, 7:50, 12:17, 12:59 are dummy ones. If the SAP HR can compare with the daily work schedule and remove them before time evaluation, then there will not be problem.
Could anybody advise on this issue? Thanks a lot.
    SH WU

    hi SH WU
You need to create a rule in schema to handle only the first and last entries.
IF they are supposed to be swipeed only twice then you can create constant in t511k and set the start time and end time and compare them and process.......
