Mail won't get new mail after a while

Running Mail app on my Powerbook on OS 10.5.8. I use this as my work computer. More and more frequently I find that Mail is not retrieving my messages after being open for a while. The main account is a gmail IMAP account. I am also running Mail Act-On and MailTags, which are key utilities in my workflow.
I try clicking on Get New Mail, or "Synchronize IMAP Account," and taking all accounts offline and then taking them online, but these do not help.
Quitting and relaunching Mail sometimes helps, but not always! Is there anything else I should try? This is making me crazy!

I think you should open the Mail folder -- Home/Library/Mail -- and locate the file named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 and delete it, after having Quit Mail. Open each POP account folder in the Mail folder, and make sure there are no other files of similar name within these folders.
Deleting this file, and relaunching Mail will result in its downloading whatever messages remain on the server, and may give you some duplicates, but this import file will be renewed and fresh.

  • Getting new messageID after BPE is called

    Hello,
I am just working on getting the messageID of the original message to correlate AS2 MDN back to an integration process. What I have seen is that the original messageID (backend sender -> Integration process) is different to the messageID after the integration process is called (integration process - AS2 receiver).
Problem now is that the MDN uses the second messageID, however when I execute a transformation step to read the message ID only the original messageID is used.
Do you know how to retrieve the second messageID?

The application when is deployed creates a new SFSB,
after the remove method is called the SFSB does not
exist anymore, also the same happens in a timeout.
How do I create a new SFSB without restarting the
    server?
    I am using EJB 3.0
Just as you created the firwst one. Assuming that you have a handle to the home object stored somehwere from your first call, you use home.create(var1, var2) or else look up the home using jndi and then call create on the home object.
I don't understand really how in a shopping cart
examples through different uses the correct SFSB is
called for each user, with EJB 3.0
Through your remote object. Each user has got his own remote object and for SFSB, one and only one bean is tied to a remote object. It's the container's responsibility to relate the remote object and the bean.
Also how should I store the SFSB, I always called it
through JNDI lookup.Store? Use a handle and if the handle is lost or an attempt to retrieve the remote object using the handle fails, look at #1 above (lookup home, create on home etc)

  • Msgs not getting picked up after a while...

    Hi,
I am new in terms of mq design and performance issues and i am having this problem where the msgs stop being processed after a while..( they just stay there is the inbound q).. This is someone else's code and i cannot figure out what the problem is. When the server starts the msgs get processed fine but after a few days/weeks the application totally stops processing the msgs and the msgs just keep piling on the q. I don't see any error msgs or anything which could help. The way it's been implemented is that on the server start up a servlet starts a scheduled job.
    timerReceiver = new Timer();
timerReceiver.schedule(new XMLMsgReceiver(), secXmlMsgsReceiveInitialDelay * 1000, secXmlMsgsReceiveInterval * 1000);and the run() method of this class "XMLMsgReceiver" has the following
    if(!XMLMsgReceiver.isRunning) {
    debug("starting the MQ listener ");
    this.startListener();
    else
debug("MQ listener is already UP");The startListener() method has the following code
    XMLMsgReceiver.isRunning = true;

    QueueSession session = null;

    QueueConnectionFactory factory =

    TIA,

    Hi,
Check any exclusion indicator in condition type of NAVS which act not to include in pricing calculation in PO but at the same time condition type nAVS will be there in MM calculation schema.
As you said you have two condition type NAVS and NAVM and defaulted automatically in some cases, check both condition types (M/06) and find out exclusion indicator ( X or N or which one assigned) for each condition type which play vital role on each purchasing process.

  • Mail Won't get new mail

I have just upgraded from Jaguar to Tiger and have been experiencing intermittent problems fetching new mail from my yahoo server. Once in a while all works well, then others it does nothing, and still others it asks for my password over and over and over again, but will not gather the mail. Was I supposed to reenter my accounts in the preferences section... I thought the upgrade would process all of that. I can still get the info directly of the yahoo home page but I prefer Apples mail program.... when it is working
    Thanks for any insight.... Don

    Hello Don.
Did any of the same occur at any time before upgrading to Tiger?
What is your time interval setting for automatically checking for new mail? If set to every minute, change it to every 5 or 15 minutes which should prevent the prompt to manually enter the account's password. This can occur when set to check for new mail every minute if there are a number of messages to download and/or the connection with the incoming mail server is not closed before the next automatic check for new messages.
You can also try running Keychain First Aid on your Login Keychain via Keychain Access.
Since Mail isn't downloading any new messages regardless, quit Mail first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2. If there is a MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file also without the number 2, delete both files and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and if successful any previously downloaded messages that remain on the server will be downloaded again along with any new messages available at the server not yet downloaded by Mail.
In addition, did you check your boot volume for any directory problems with Disk First Aid repair via Disk Utility when booted from the Tiger retail install package before installing Tiger?
If not, check this link for system troubleshooting procedures and when doing so, follow all steps/instructions in the order provided.

If you have multiple network configurations active which are not regularly used or required, deselect any which are not actively used to turn them off or make sure the network port configuration being used is at the top of the list.

  • Unable to get new Apps after purchasing iPod Touch app update

I know this is a frequent topic but I can't help but feel my situation is a little different to others I've read.
After purchasing the app update the new apps failed to appear. I also had a USB port problem at the time that prevent a correct sync - after switching ports everything is fine again - except for the new apps.
On each subsequent sync itunes attempts to sync the new apps but instead I get :
    "Unknown error occurred 0xE8000001"
The only problem is the apps though, any new music, podcasts, movies etc are synced without a problem.
From reading other posts on similar topics I have seen (and tried) the following :
Do a restore - tried more times than I can count.
Make sure you are running up to date iTunes and iPod software - done and done - 7.6 and 1.1.3.
Try a different USB port - I have 8 USB 2.0 ports available (4 sets of 2) none have helped. Neither did my powered USB2 hub. Neither does unplugging everything but the mouse and keyboard. The ports work fine for everything else; mouse, keyboard, gaming claw, ext hard drive (with the exception of the bad one).
Switch off manual management and resync - no help.
Uncheck the checked items only option - no help.
Out of desparation I tried to restore and buy the update again on my MacBookPro but the iTunes store prevented the purchase as I already had it.
I have read that when this error occurs it generally seems to be related to USB power but in those cases it usually means the iPod is not being recognised by iTunes - and I am not having that problem.
Any suggestions anyone can provide would be most appreciated.

I managed to fix this one out by copy the app enabling file (iPod tiuch App Pack 4A93) to the corresponding directory (\iTunes\Mobile Applications) on the Mac and doing an 'erase and sync'.
The apps were promptly synced to the iPod and remained when I resynced on the XP machine.
I noticed this one got a few readers but no responses - has anyone else had the same problem? If you are, I suspect you may be able to get the same result by copying the file and syncing on another PC.

  • Is there a way to keep all your stuff on your ipod after transferring to a new computer and being able to get new stuff on it while the old stuff is still on the ipod???

Okay so I had my itunes on my moms computer and now her computer is broken and I need to buy stuff on itunes (And I want to see my wish list again). How can I transfer all my old stuff over to this new computer with out changing anything or having anything deleted but at the same time being able to put new stuff on from the computer???

    Try this way:
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Won't get past chime after installing Leopard

I just installed Leopard on my iMac PPC G5.  It calls for a shut down at the end of installation which it did.  Now it won't power back on.  Everytime it gets to the starting chime, it shuts down.  It was running fine before the installation of Leopard and now it's basically dead.  Any ideas?   I can't even get the disk out of the drive now and I'd like to.  Is there a way to get it out?   HELP!!!

Okay, I believe that it's a heat related issue.  I took the back off and used a fan to cool everything.  It booted up just fine but the fans are running faster and louder than normal.  I loaded a temp monitor and the CPU temp is about 190 degrees F.   What should it be?  Is there something I need to do to fix this. The fans are runnning (at least they feel that way ont the top in the back and there is no restrictions that I can see with the back off.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • IPhone 5 won't show new number after porting

Verizon finished porting in a phone number into my already activated iPhone 5.  Now the phone won't show the new number. It still shows my old number and I can't make or receive any calls.   I have cycled on and off. I have also wiped the phone twice and gone through the activation process.  I have reset network settings as well.   Verizon shows all is well on their side.  I even tried switching iMessage off and on as instructed on discussion boards but the phone stays on activating......
So far it makes a great looking paper weight.  Any suggestions?

ok, I finally got a hold of a technical support rep that knew what she was doing. She performed an "authentication update" on her system and had me dial #2539.  Problem Solved.

    Yes, it does.

  • 6220 won't get GPS fix after S/W upgrade

I upgraded my 6220 S/W, which all went fine. But now I cannot get  GPS fix, I am sure it worked before the upgrade. Does anybody else have this and any ideas how to fix it ? Thanks.

Just give your phone some time cause generally the phone data including the maps cache gets cleared or rested... For each time you get a fix the next time you will get a faster fix till you reach a certain limit and this is all subject to weather conditions. So just try getting fixes no matter how long it takes and take help of Assisted GPS.

  • Android devices not getting push notifications after a while

We have just installed a new Exchange 2013 setup and started to move mailboxes across. Users that have Android devices though are noticing that push notifications are not reaching them and checking in the ECP I can see their last sync times are a long time
    ago!
If they restart their devices then the sync occurs and push notifications work for about half a day then stop again.
We have no issues with any iOS devices getting push notifications. We have a range of Android JellyBean and KitKat deployed so not looking device related. If I turn off push notification on the Android device and force a manual sync every 5 minutes that
works and currently seems to be my workaround. But this will drain the battery quicker now.
The flow of notification would be simple, Exchange2013 > Firewall > Internet > Device
Anyone else experiencing issues like this and know what to check? We have checked all networking aspects and its not a network/firewall issue.

After hours of searching online and testing and troubleshooting I found the issue actually was affecting push notifications to all mobile devices on Exchange 2013 where their mailboxes had been migrated recently from Exchange 2010.
There is a bug in Exchange 2013 CU5 which I am on which causes issues after mailbox migrations and requires the ActiveSync app pool in IIS to require a restart after mailbox moves to function correctly.
After I completed an iisreset within a command prompt on the CAS server everything started working for push notifications.
Lets hope this gets fixed in CU6!

The subject actually. In half an hour of intensive usage the programm gets slower and finally a simple operation like picking a color with an eyedropper takes seconds. Restarting the programm helps, but it's not very comfortable workflow to restart the PS every 30 mins. I have the PS CS2 installed and it works perfectly as well as other resource-intensive CS5 applications like Illustrator, Flash or InDesign. And yes, have read all official and unofficial advices concerning optimising PS performance and so on. Don't know what system info is relevant to the problem, so here is somewhat:

Ben, Curt has given you good advice, you need to move your scratch disk to one of the spinners, not the SSD, especially as it is your system disk. Ideally the scratch should be on a separate disk to your system drive regardless, that way Photoshop and the computer itself are not fighting for access, but this is compounded when you're using an SSD.
SSD's wear out, just like an old LP record or tape, and what wears them is writing to them; each memory cell in the drive has a finite number of writes it will accept before it "dies" and becomes read only. Reading from the drive doesn't affect its life in any way, shape or form, so the ideal configuration for an SSD is for it to be used only for your OS and applications, because once everything is loaded, the vast majority of the activity on the drive will be reads.
SSD's are fantastically complex, and this is a great article which should give you an introduction to the core technologies and principles involved in their operation.
Now, after saying that, I've just built a new system with an SSD for my system drive, and I'm going to "recycle" my old systems SSD and install it as the scratch disk for Photoshop; it should speed up the operation of the program itself by orders of magnitude, and it'll be interesting to see how long the old SSD lasts!
Another piece of advice; if you were to buy a small SSD for Photoshop, do not buy one with a "Sandforce Controller." Once again this is all horribly complex - Google is your friend here - but basically the Controller is where the "magic" happens in an SSD, not in the NAND Flash itself. The fastest drives out there right now all have Sandforce Controllers, but, that speed comes at a price; the drive will basically choke, slow down, sometimes to speeds below that of a mechanical drive, if it has to handle data that cannot be compressed, such as - you guessed it - image files, movies, and music!
    Good luck
    Paul

  • Portege R30 won't boot from SSD after upgrade to SSD and HDD

    Hi
I upgraded my Portege R30-A to add a second SSD (Crucial M550) replacing the optical drive with the new SSD with caddy.
But now the system won't boot automatically from the original SSD.
I could press F12 while turning on my laptop, and bring up the boot manual. Here I can see my original SSD and I can boot from it correctly.
In the boot order in the BIOS, I only see HDD/SSD, USB Memory, ODD .... It doesn't give me the option to choose between SSDs.
Anyway when I boot in this way I get blue screens after a while in win7.
I have tried to instal a HDD as the second disc instead os SSD and the resut is the same.
Is there anything I can do to solve this, now I have to use the second disc as an external USB disc.
    Thanks,

I have experienced the same problem. (I don't know why my previous reply got deleted.)
The problem all relates to the CSM mode of Toshiba BIOS.
The solution is adding a boot partition (FAT32) on the drive that is in the original ODD spot.
Use a Windows 8 Installer (on a USB drive) to build a boot sector on that partition and direct it to the SSD where Windows 7 is installed. Then after you have done all of this, switch back to UEFI mode.
The system should be able to boot Windows 7 properly from the SSD in UEFI mode.

  • 'Mail' won't get e-mail after the latest Security Update...

    Hey all...
Title says it all. I did the Security Update a few days ago. After the restart, I lost all e-mail from 12/19 on, and have not been able to get new mail since then. The mac in doubt is a G5 iMac 20" running Tiger 10.4.11... No other updates have been done, and all of the other applications seem to work well. I know this is an 'update' issue, as I'm able to get new mail on my iPhone, Powerbook and work Dell.
On a side note, I called Apple on this, and pretty much said the 'update' wasn't an issue.. really, cause it started happening right after the update..
Any insight to fix this would be awesome...
    Thanks,
    Craig

I did remove 'Mail' from the Library/Cache folder and then 'Envelope Index' from the Library/Mail folder.. rebooted after eraser... and nothing new, except for a prompt to re-install 'Mail'.. which I did...
There's a problem there. Unless you deleted the actual Mail application, there would be no reason for any message to reinstall Mail triggered, since it's still there.
At this point, you'll need to do an Archive & Install, with the Preserve Users and Network Settings option. This will remove the current system and replace it with a new one; all programs and data will be left intact. To do this:
    1. Quit all running applications and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
    2. Insert your Mac OS X install/restore disc and boot your Mac from it (hold down the 'C' key until you see the statup screen).
    3. Select your language and proceed with an install as you normally would, but choose Archive & Install, with Preserve Users and Network Settings; run the installer.
    4. After your Mac restarts, eject the disk, then apply the 10.4.11 Combo Update (quit Software Update without updating anything).
    5. Run Software update to bring your system current, and delete the Previous Systems folder.
    6. Repair Permissions again, then restart your Mac and test for this problem.

  • Native Mail app unable to get new mail after updating to iOS 5.0.1

Just after I installed 5.0.1 (OTA) I've noticed that native ios mail client is unable to get new mail messages anymore. I have three seperate mail accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud) connected to my iPad2 and none of them works after this software update. All I get is three seperate error messages (Cannot Get Mail) one after another for each account, same kinda of messages as you get once you try to open your Mail app with no internet connection, but this time it's not an issue as my iPad is connected to my home WiFi which is working just fine.
I've tried to restart my device, checked mail settings, made sure all the passwords are ok by typing them once again for all the accounts and I managed to get confirmation that they're ok with no difficulties using the same device.
All other apps that uses internet connection seems to be working with no problems as well.
    Screenshot: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/pauliaK/9c9c6d0c.jpg
    Any ideas?

Once I got new mail messages to each mailbox it seems that everything got back to normal.
