Maintenance Plan - Multiple Frequencies

Hey,
I need to create a Maintenance Plan with multiple items and multiple frequencies.  Is this possible ie.
1 x Maintenance Plan
2 x Items
Item 1 - 2months
Item 2 - 6monhths.
What I want is for the 2 monthly to come out twice and then when the 6 monthly is due, I want to suppress the 2 monthly Item.
How do I do this???
Grateful for any assistance.
Cheers,
Liz

Hi Pete,
Thanks heaps for your reply.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.  I have since posting my question created a 'test' Maintenance Plan using a hierachy Strategy.  One item was monthly and the other 3 monthly.  I have scheduled the item (in a testing client), and it is showing that the monthly maintenance item is coming out every 2 out of 3 months.  When the 3 monthly item is due the monthly item is not being called.
This seems to differ from your response.  Can you please confirm.
Thanks again,
Lizzy

  • Problem regarding scheduling of maintenance plan

    Dear Sap Gurus,
I am facing the problem during the scheduling of maintenancepan thruough IP10 follwing error is coming
"Planned date for maintenance plan 124 was scheduled for 00.00.0000"
Planned date for maintenance plan 124 was scheduled for 00.00.0000
    Message no. IP889
    Diagnosis
During scheduling of the maintenance plan, the planned date was set to 00.00.0000.
This error can occur, if, for example, the cycle for the planned schedule is too big (offset) means that the planned date is actually after the 31.12.9999.
    Procedure
Check the master data of the maintenance plan to ensure that no date is calculated after the 31.12.9999.
If necessary, check the counters used and the annual performance.
I explore all the things in SPRO also also check the setting parameter for the plan but i didnt get any breakthrough for my above problem.Plz guide me whats the exactly problem with scheduling of of maintenance plan.
    points are sure

    2) Change in Duration/Frequency
below i have elaborated my requirements.
among those fields i have got the table name mpos, mpla, plpo except the above listed two feilds.
i have to create a report with these requirements.
anyone tell me in which table can i get that 6 and 7th fields.
    Requirement1:
    Maintenance Plan Number
    Operation Code
    Standard Teode(assigned to Plan)
    Standard Text Key description

  • Single Maintenance plan creation for multiple equipemnts with different cyc

    Dear Experts,
I had a following scenario to map in PM module. can anybody guide me to map this process?
we had no.of equipments under one functional location and will go through preventive maintenance on yearly basis. For this, i will create the single cycle yearly maintenance plan which comprices of maintenance items, which is fine. out of these equipments some of the equipments will go for routine maintenance like quarterly, half-yearly, tri-quarterly. user want to club these scenarios also in single preventive maintenance plan. when we scdule this plan, system has to deliver monthly orders and as well as yearly orders from single preventive maintenance plan.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna Murthy,
It can be acheived in the following Manner.
Create a Strategy say "Test" with Packages 1M, 2M,Q,H,Y packages.
Create 5(say) Equipment Task Lista for each of the 5 Equipment at that FL.
1st Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(Q), yearly (Y)
2nd Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(H), yearly (Y)
And so on... as per Business Requirement.
Now create a Maintenance Plan with 5 maintenance Items with respective Task Lits.
Now Schedule the Plan and give the Last Completion date as the Yearly package (A date one year less than the day you wanetd the yearly plan).
    Then check the calls.

  • Maintenance plan package change resulting in incorrect call dates

When we change a maintenance package on an existing maintenance plan to a package whose frequency is not an exact multiple of the previous package (for example, changing from a 6M 180-day package to a 1Y 365-day package) and then restart the plan, the call horizon of the plan seems to be ignored and the new call dates are always a day or so before the plan date regardles
Why is the call horizon being ignored in this situation?

    Hello
Please check the Option Start in Cycle while scheduling the Plan.

  • Manual Maintenance Plan

    Hi All,
Using SQL Server 2008 R2 in multiple servers.
    1. Any script (links) for creating a manual maintenance plan? I would like to manually run the script for some databases in multiple servers.
    2. It is a way to collect the statistics before and after the maintenance? I would like to show the improvement after the plan running.
    3. Am I missing anything in this maintenance plan steps?
    - Full Backup of the database.
    - Transaction Log Backup.
    - Check DB integrity
    - Cleanup Backups more than two months
    - Rebuild Indexes
    - Reorganize indexes
    - Shrink databases
    - Update Statistics
Thanks for your help in advanced.
    Best,

I echo Raju: start at http://ola.hallengren.com
    A few more points:
    3. Am I missing anything in this maintenance plan steps?
    You have too much!
    - Full Backup of the database.
    - Transaction Log Backup.
T-Log backup is something that should occur regularly through the day. How often depends on your RPO, that is, how much data loss you can accept in case of a disaster. Every 15 minutes may be a good frequency.
    - Rebuild Indexes
    - Reorganize indexes
One of them. Not both. (Unless you have a table with LOB data that is updated frequently. You need REORGANIZE to get LOB compaction, but you may still want index rebuild, since it makes a more thoroufg work than reorganize. But this is a true edge case.)
And only rebuild/reorganize when there is a need to. (Which is exactly what Ola's scripts perform for you.)
    - Shrink databases
No! No! No! Shrinking databases should never be part of any regular maintenance. Shrinking a database file is an exceptional activity that you may perform when you have deleted a lot of data that never will return. Or when a log file has exploded after an
occasional accident. But shrinking on a regular basis is only detrimental. Shrinking introduces massive fragmentation (why it's pointless to rebuild indexes first). And what shrank will only grow again and growing takes time. While autogrow is good in
the sense that it prevent a complete outage when a file is full, it should still not happen during buisness hours but during maintenance windows.
    - Update Statistics
If you rebuild an index (not reorganize), statistics are updated as part of that operation, and they are updated with FULLSCAN, and not sampled. Anyway, this is also something that Ola's scripts handle for you.

  • Automatic Creation of Maintenance Plan, Measurement plan

    Hi Pal
Business : The equipments are procuring for the purpose of supplying into customers. It is installed (via sales delevery) at customer location as requirement. From  the installation date rental will start and periodic visit is applicable after every 3 months. The technician will capture  some reading In initail installation time, periodic maintenance time.
Requirement : The equipment will be created automatically thro serial no when doing the GR(Its possible) . Automatic creation of Maintenance Plan for the equipment  for 3 month frequency, 70% call horizon, early and late completion of 100%. Additionally the scedhule start date need to pick it from the notification end date of its respective equipment. Also measurement points should be generated in automatic way (Its fixed& common for all equipments).
Is there any possiblity to complete this requirement? Please help me and suggest.
    Regards
    Thenna

There is no suitable BAPI available to create Maintenance plan.
    Try for BDC.

  • Any FM to calculate planned costs for a Maintenance plan

    Hi all,
Is there any FM to calculate planned costs for an Maintenance plan.
I can use report RISTRA30(IP31). but i need to use for multiple multiple Mplans and different time frames. using SUBMIT to this report and getting data will lead to performance in my actual report.
Please do provide any FM's or any other pointers for the same.
    warm regards,
    Sumanth

    Dear,
In maintenance plan you can speciefy - order type, task list type, task list group & counter.
when system automatically create service/maintenance order then system will determine plan cost, but for this you have to maintain planned price by t-code KP26.
And then you can see report by IP31

  • Maintenance plan

    Dear All
Is there any possible way to schedule two maintenance item in the same maintenance plan separately. ie I have a maintenance plan with maintenance item already on schedule. Now I will add another maintenance item to this plan I want a different schedule for the new  with out disturbing the present.
    With Regards
    Arun

No, its not possible. Scheduling can be done only at maintenance plan level.

  • Counter in Maintenance Plan

    Dear All,
i´m not sure. Is it advisable to use a own counter for each maintenance plan and is it better to create a own performance-based maint. plan for each equipment?
    Thanks for your help!
    Andreas

Actually, it depends on your requirement. A counter is created for an equipment and when you create a maintenance plan with performance based units in the cycle, the counter is automatically proposed from the equipment master data based on the unit mentioned in the cycle or performance based strategy.
You can create a single maintenance plan for multiple equipments using multiple maintenance items but for this, you need to ensure that all of the performance based units are the same for all equipments and the cycle length/strategy cycles is the same for all such equipments.

  • Problem -repeated automatic calls thro' maintenance plan

    Hi Friends
I m facing a problem in CS module . Repeated service orders being getting created through each maintenace plan for the 3 type of service order which are created by us .
problem description : repeated call thro' maintenance plan in every year even after giving restriction of one year as a SCHEDULING PERIOD.
    Preface :
1 . Currently we are creating single cycle plan for individual or multiple equipment through mainteance plan category service management
    2. We  are expecting only one call for each equipment plan in yar , however it is getting created in next year automatically
IF it is possible , please let me know
    Thanks in advace
    Thnks & Rgds
    Amitabh

    Hi Pradhan,
You can use the indicator Completion requirement in the Maintenance plan scheduling parameters. If you set this indicator, the system only generates the next call object once the preceding call object has been confirmed.
    Go through this documentation-
For call objects which already exist, this means the following:
The next order is only created once the preceding order has been technically completed.
The next notification is only created once the preceding notification has been completed.
The next service entry sheet is only created once the preceding service entry sheet has been accepted.
Reward if cleared and close the thread.

  • Maintenance Plan: Change Yearly cycle

    Hello,
We created maintenance plans for an equipment that has: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly task.
THe date we initiated this maintenance plan was 6/1/2009. Is there a way to change the Yearly task date to 6/30/2010, but still keep the rest of the cycles the same dates?.
*Note we currently have a s'Schedule date of "0 days"
    Thanks.

    Hi Jay,
I assume that you are using a Time Based Strategy Plan for this. I also assume that you have created Packages of Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly in the Strategy & a Suitable Task list for it.
If you have not done my assumptions, please do them first and then carryout below steps. (Aviod weekly package if you want the date exactly on 06/30/2010, if it is compulsory then you will get approximately yearly package at that time)
After you create a Strategy plan for the Equipment and save.
Set Scheduling Indicator as Time-Key Date. (Possible only with packages in multiplications of Months)
Goto IP10 and Say Start in Cycle & give the Completion date as 6/30/2009 and in the Offset select the package as Yearly.
Now all the dates will adjust based on the requirement.

  • Counter Base Maintenance plan.

    Hi all,
I had created counter base maintenance plan, speciefied equipment,in equipment maintained measuring point.
Then I created measuring point document, in this I had put 50 volt as my reading & click on SAVE,
then system immediated give masage create noti/service order.
if Yes then it create service order.
Now my question is is there any need to shedule maintenance plan?
Please tell me process of counter base maintenance plan.
    kapil

    Hi
       Maint plan for coutner
Create the maintenance plan with maintenance strategy(IP11) which suits the performance parameter. Assign proper maintenance item to maintenance plan.
If only one measurement point is created for technical object then it will be automatically picked up otherwise select appropriate among the available once. Set the scheduling parameter according to requirement & specify the start reading. Start reading is in reference to which maintenance plan starts scheduling.
Example: Maintenance cycle is 90 run hrs., Start reading is 6 hrs and annual estimation given in measurement point = 360 Hrs (1hrs/day). Scheduling period = 365 day. Current Measuring point reading = 1 hrs on 1st Jan 06.
Schedule plan on 1st Jan 06.
    Call no.     @Hrs     @Date
    1     6+90=96     1st April 06
    2     96+90 = 186     1st July.
System schedule call date based on annual estimation and its keep on shifting as counter reading increases with time. System will trigger the call object on schedule date even if measurement reading will not reach the specified value.
    Scheduling of maintenance plan
Once maintenance plan is created it needs to be scheduled at regular interval. Single plan can be scheduled by IP10 and Multiple plan by IP30. (Called Deadline monitoring) This can be done manually or batch job can be created.
hope this will help. also please refere saphelp.com for further info

  • Maintenance Plan Problem

We have an issue whereby the folks in Engineering are saying that the inspection items are not being  flagged up as due.
This appears to be the case when there are two or more items assigned to one inspection plan but each item item has a different due date.  SAP want to reschedule the whole plan based on the completion date of one of the items and not the next due date of the other item ?
e.g. Plan 5171, equipment C1004414 is on a frequency of three years, yet the other item is yearly, SAP keeps restating the plan to one year.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vishvesh Saodekar

What kind of plan you have created?
If each item is having different scheduling parameters, it is advisable to go for separate maintenance plan for each maintenance item.
Scheduling parameters are based on maintenance plan header level, but not on maintenance item level.
