Manage users for multi DB

Dear all,
Rigth now i have multi db and multi users .It's difficult to manage users for me.
I want to know as the following :
1. Is there any way that one user login can access any databases
(single sign-on) and how?
2.Can we access data from sql server via oracle db (sqlplus) and how?

Adding boot manager entry for multi-user.target in stock configs

How about adding an entry to the stock conifgs of grub and syslinux that append "systemd.unit=multi-user.target" to the kernel parameters and removing the autodetect hook by default?
So then have one boot option for standard hooks without autodetect.
And another which appends "systemd.unit=multi-user.target" (replacing the current fallback)
If never really noticed any difference between using and not using the autodetect hook on any of my 3 computers.
Although I guess just editng the parameters from the boot anger isn't that hard...

vm-mouse and mesa were necessary for starting the x-server. So startx works now, whereas LightDM still produces an error.
Besides the resolution can´t be adjusted to 1920x1080 in the System Settings. I tried to solve this with the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf, which I took from the wiki.

As you can see, I just replaced the lines with comments, because I didn´t know what to do with the others.
Perheaps this is the reason that startx doesn´t work using this configuration ("Failed to load xf86-video-vmware" and "no screens found").

Another replication manager user for external replication

Hi,
We would like to replicate to external vendor LDAP, which will acts as a consumer. We do not want to give the same password as we use for default Replication Manager. Preferably, we would like to have a seperate replication user.
Could someone point me some link, which could help me in setting this up. We're at 11G version and consumer is at 5.2. We do know how to setup replication between 11g and 5.2, however not sure on how to utilize this seperate user, specially like setting up of ACI etc.

How can I use Windows IAS to validate WLC management users?

I am having a problem using my Windows IAS radius server to validate management users for my 2112 Wireless Lan Controller.
I have defined the radius server and it works ok with the policy for validating wireless clients but not for WLC management users.
The Remote access policy seems to be set up correctly as the event viewer on the server shows:-

It appears to me that IAS checks and passes the username/password as being valid but this response is ignored by the WLC

Manually add/modify users for pure-ftpd ftp server?

Alright I downloaded, compiled & installed the latest pure-ftpd ftp server from pureftpd.org .. and it seems to have started off ok.
Since there is no Leopard Compatible PureFTPD Manager out yet, I need to create/modify users manually. Does anyone know how to do that for Pure-FTPD FTP Server? I can't seem to find or see any .conf files or anything at all. How do you manage users for pure-ftpd through command line or configuration?

JES Access Manager User Creation for Messanger

I installed JES 2005 Q4 on Solaris 10 x86 with schema 2 and Access Manager 7. The Directory Tree is as follows:

Organization DN when I ran "configutil" after running comm_dssetup.pl, was specified o=nucleussoftware,dc=nucleussoftware,dc=com
This is fresh installation and not any migration.
Now I create user from Access Manager, http://sol1.nucleussoftware.com/amserver
There are two organizations 1. Nucleussoftware and 2. Nucleussoftware->nucleussoftware.com
So I have two locations to create users in People.
When I create user from Access Manager and try to login into WebMail, I get Login Failed.
But when I open "startconsole" or "mpsconsole" and open Messaging Server Console and in new user's property, Account Attribute, I mark the check box, and now try to login into WebMail, I get error message, "Mailbox is on a different server".
I am missing one attribute that I used to get with schema 1 on iPlanet 5.2 for any user, Mail Server Address.
Please tell me the exact method of creating a user for Messaging.

Access Manager was never intended to create working mail users. The Delegated Admin package is provided as part of JES, and that's what it is for, to manage users and groups. There's both a web interface, and a command-line interface, "commadmin"
Or, you can examine the ldap entries for the automatically created accounts, and duplicate that. Messaging doesn't really care how the ldap entries get done, just so that they are done correctly.

Setting Users for my managed services and application pools

I setup my SharePoint 2013 test environment and I developed an intranet site. Now inside my test environment I set all the application pool & managed services to use Farm user account for simplicity. Now I want to setup my UAT environment and I want
to follow the best practice for managing users and service accounts.
I have read the “Core Solutions Of MS SharePoint 2013” book, and it have listed the following table:-
First question. What is the difference when saying that the user “Must be a member of the Farm Administrators group” Or must be “Domain user account”?
Second question , when I first install SharePoint 2013 a lot of applications pools and managed services such as excel services , access services, Performance Point Service Application, business
data connectivity and Machine Translation Service will be automatically created , so which account they will be using and should I define separate accounts for each managed service ?
Third question. What is the recommendation for SharePoint 2013 regarding service accounts?, to use separate account for each manage service, for example one user for excel services , second user
for access services ,etc?
Fourth question. For example the documentation mentioned that the Required roles for the excel services is “Domain user account.”, but what permissions this domain user need to have ?

Q #1: This means the user must be part of the Farm Admins group. Every user is a Domain User.
Q #2: Generally those should be using a single Domain User account in a single Application Pool to minimize memory usage and reduce unnecessary complexity.
Q #3: The less Application Pools the better. E.g. One account/App Pool for all Web Applications, one account/App Pool for all Service Applications, and then Central Administration is obviously separate.
Q #4: You don't need to specifically give this type of user any sort of rights

Http: 404 when starting 'manage user data' in EBP/SRM for the firs time.

We are customizing SRM 3.0 EBP 4.0 with SAPKU40005.
When we tried to create the first users we started to receive the following error 'http: 404 Page not Found' when starting 'manage user data'. (URL: http://[server]/sap/bc/bsp/bbpusermaint/!?client=400&language=EN&~logingroup=SPACE&addSession=1&parentBbpSession=SRP:[server]:0000.0005.d5ffd7b2.d87e
I've created the ADMIN user in the SU01 transaction. When logon in mySRM browser with this or any administrator user and try to 'manage user data' i get this error.
I've looked in the '(...)inetpub\wwwroot\sap' directory and didn't found any 'bc/bsp/...' directory.
Can someone please give me an hint ....

the BSP Framework you are now in has nothing to do with the ITS stuff like inetpub or wwwroot.
Get the docu for Web AS 6.20 and have a look into transaction SICF. There you can activate your application: follow the path sap/bc/bsp/bbpusermaint, right mouse click on the "node" and say activate.
This maybe solves your problem. But read a little bit of the doco on Internet Communication Framework (TX SICF) first.

How do I allow Adobe Application Manager for managed user?

When a managed user attempts to open CS5 Photoshop, this error comes up: "Adobe Application Manager is not allowed"
I know there is a way to give this app permissions in the Workgroup Manager, but I can't find them on the web (google or here)

An Adobe PDF Pack subscription is tied to an Adobe ID, so it's a single-user subscription. There's nothing to install; you access the subscription by logging in via a web browser to https://cloud.acrobat.com using your Adobe ID and a password.

Module for managing USERS

Good morning
I have developed an application with Forms 10g + oracle 10g.
Now I want to create a module for managing USERS where I can change the menu for each user, users create, modify the rights of access to the application modules.
I want the best demarche to do so, and if disponnible a module that makes all this without access to the Enterprise Manager.

With EM, yoiu can not manage the roles/permissions.
You need to create roles in database according to your requirements ( In otherwords this is a broad category)
For eg rl_guest -> select privilege on all tables/execute on proc/function
rl_master -> Select, insert, update, delete
rl_user -> rl_guest+ insert on tables
and so on
Create a Form where in which you can assign the roles /revoke the roles to the users.

I wonder if anyone knows a good tutorial/blog with reference to security - howto Manage Users and Permissions.
In my application I have GROUPS and each group has access to different RECORDS and CASES.
Example:
Groups: Alfa, Beta, Gamma
Record: R1, R2, R3...
Case: C100, C200, C300
Group Alfa can view: R1, R2 and C300
Group Beta can view: R1, R3, C200, C100, C300,
Group Gamma can view: R3
My question is this: what should be the best way (design-pattern?) to force a policy to securing the Records/Cases?
What should every case/record implemented to verify that a user (part of a group) has the right to access the entity.

Trouble with an internet mail program for managed user

Not sure if I am posting this question in the right section.
I have a new imac, and kids are managed users. I put some parental controls on them I picked and chose with all the various choices.
They have a login website through their school where they can send and receive emails only with other students and teachers.
Its not working on their managed accounts. It DOES work under my administrator account, or a "test" user, an unmanaged account. The browser used is Firefox 3.0.4.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

That sounds like a problem with the browser you're using. It may be that the browser must run from within the user's account and not your admin account. Try making a copy of the browser and placing it in the user's Applications folder - /Users/sonsuserfolder/Applications/. If there isn't an Applications folder there then make a new folder and name it Applications. Put the browser copy in that folder. Now log into the account and run the browser from his Applications folder rather than the system's.
Have you tried using Safari instead of Firefox? Is it possible that the school's system is not intended to be accessed from another network, thus it generates that error message because it will not accept an outside access. Or you may need to find out from the school how to access their network from home.

Logmein disabled for Managed user

I am a managed user with time limit parental controls and I have this app called Logmein (Google it). It basically allows me to remotely access my computer from anywhere where I have WiFi. Anyway, some things seem to be going wrong. Firsly, of course, I can't connect like I can when I'm Admin. Here is a screen shot of the icon in the menubar.
Notice how everything is blank, like turn off logmein, etc. And then here is the actual app.
Notice again how turn off is greyed out. Finally, here is the online web app.
EDIT: No picture b/c of some Apple upload limit but you get the idea. Cannot connect.
Any ideas?
