Mapping infoobject

I need to create a lookup infoobject.
I have a datasource containing the DELIVERY# and I need to get corresponding SHIP# to put into the DSO. Another datasource is providing mapping between SHIP# and DELIVERY#. SHIP# and DELIVERY# are already created infoobjects.
How to create a mapping and how to use it in the DSO transformation? Please tell me the steps.

Try to create a transformation from the DELIVERY# datasource to DSO and write a routine to do a lookup on SHIP# infoobject(/BI0/MSHIP#).

Problem in mapping Infoobjects in Transfer Rules

Hello Friends,
I need your help regarding following issue:
I installed ODS named STABILITY STUDY : INSPECTION RESULTS QUANT. DATA (0QM_DS02) from Business Content.
The ODS & Update Rules have been installed properly.
Few infoproviders had been already installed at the time of implementation, hence majority of the infoobjects existed from before. Only few were new.
Now when i tried to map transfer rules, newly installed infoobjects are not seen in data source.
The data source is 2LIS_05_QE2 and few of the infoobjects not being mapped are:
Sum of Target Value (0SUMSOLLW)
Target Val.Available (0IND_SOLLW)
Phys. Sample Number (0PHYS_SP)
Inspect.Lot Origin (0LOT_HERK)
Inspection Method (0PMETHODE)
Plant of Insp. Meth. (0PPLANT)
Insp. Meth. Version (0PMTVERSION)
Can any one suggest me how should i proceed??

Dear Anuradha,
Before installing transfer Rules or infosource first u have to install the datasource in source system and replicate it into bw.
If u have done this already then u want to map some objects in transfer rules then u have to check whether those fields available in the datasource , If they are available then goto transfer structure click datasource/transfer strucature tab there right side box u can see the unmapped fields in black colour move them to right side then go to transfer rules map those fields to infoobjects.
If the fields are not there in the datasource u cant do any thing just activate the transferrules.
Assign points if it solves ur problem...........or clearly reply what is ur problem.

Hi,
You can find the fields and related infoobject for the datasource as follows
Step1
log on to the BW system
Step2
Go to SE11 ---> give the table name as RSOSFIELDMAP and execute
Step3
give the data source name for OLTPSOURCE field and execute
Step4
you will find the mapping between fields and relevent infoobjects

You can create an info-object based on 0EMPLSTATUS infoobject which maps to STAT1 from 0HR_PA_1.

Add New Characteristic to Info Cube

 Relating to Standard Info Cube 0PCA_C01 - PCA: Transaction Data
 I added 2 Info Object[0COSTELMNT,0COSTGRP] to this Info Cube
 I modified the Info Source 0EC_PCA_1, to include this 2 Info Object[0COSTELMNT,0COSTGRP].
 However, in my Transfer Rule I get the following error message when I attempted to map these Info Objects in my Transfer Rule

 InfoObject 0COSTELMNT does not exist in the InfoSource 0EC_PCA_1

Hi John,
You get this error because you have no such fields in your data sources. Though, you included them into cube and infosource, you cannot map infoobject with null. You have to enhance your datasource including there these two fields, write user exits to populate them etc.
But, IMHO, the whole idea of bringing into profit center cube such cost parameters as cost element and cost group is very very bad. The principles of splitting costs and profits are very different. Its something like comparing apples and oranges. The link between these two areas is a profit cost centers relationship.
If you want to match your profits and costs Id recommend the following:
1. Use CO-PA.
2. Bring all cost relevant data into cube for costs. To put into profit cube a cost center char (or a profit center char - into costs cube) and build multiprovider on those two cubes.

SAP R/3 Fields to BW InfoObjects Mapping Documentation

Hello everyone,
As a newbie, one of many challenges that I face is to map SAP R/3 fields to its corresponding InfoObjects in BW. I've learned that we can run transaction SE11 and view table RSOSFIELDMAP, in order to know the mapping between OLTP Source Fields and InfoObjects.
However, there are many fields that have not been mapped in this table, like PAYR-CHECT, PAYR-ZBNKN and PAYR-ZBNKL, to name a few.
So I just wonder, has anyone out there compiled this mapping into a document or published it on any web site?
Appreciate if you could let me know about this.

In help.sap.com, you can check out the datasource and the fields mapped from which table. Just check the business content section.

I find this extremely helpful when I need to find out the objects and the tables. Hope this helps.

R3 to BW InfoObject Mapping - in report form

I have had several requests by my users for a Bex report that gives them the R3 to BW InfoObject mapping of the InfoObjects they see in the Cubes and ODS's they report from. I am familiar with the R3 table RODCHA and the BW tables RSOSFIELDMAP, RSDIOBJ, RSOSFIELDMAP and RSTSFIELD and know that this data is contained in these various tables. Has anyone come up with a way to pull from these tables and give their users the R3 to BW InfoObject mapping via a simple BEX report/jump query?

Thank you Sudheer, your answer was very helpful. The problem is a little more complex than I stated. These tables (RSTSFIELD specifically) relate the R3 field name with BW InfoObject name to the Transfer Structure name which is usually nothing like the Cube or ODS name. The user would have to know the Transfer Structure name related to their Cube/ODS to get the information they need in the Bex report. I was hoping that someone might have a little more information on what other metadata table(s) I would need to join with these tables to get to the Cube/ODS name that is ultimately needed by the user. This additional information would be very helpful.

I found all the relevent infoobjects, but few left without mapping.I tried to find these fields from tcode:se11/rsosfieldmap but i cannot find these fields here also. Can anyone help me in searching the infoobjects for the following fields:

Search with the description of the field in infoobjects if not found then find the same in BI content, once you find the infoobject cross check with length and type of chars etc...
