Mapping of single Portal users to multiple backend user

Hello Experts,
It is possible to map single portal user to the multiple R/3 user? If yes, than what is procedure to achieve it?
I have a SAP Portal where some users have 2 user ID in ECC, but I need to in Portal the users have only one user ID and password. How can I do to these users can select between their 2 profiles in ECC? Is posible?
Thanks!
Regards

Hi,
This is not possible since  you would have used SSO to connect to the Backend. Either it is SSO or User Mapping is done, Portal User can only access the Backend with one User ID.
If you use SSO, for Example if the Portal User is UserA then you would have the UserA in the Backend too. It will use the UserA in backend to access.  (Note: Single User can't access multiple Backend. Since we would have already maintained the Backend Connection details in the System and also in JCo Destination. So it is not possible for a User to access the Backend with two different Backends)
If you use User Mapping, then you can decide the User which it should use. (For ESS/MSS this is not recommended and it is not feasible too).

  • Portal connection to multiple backend BW app servers.

When our portal was installed (java stack intended for Integrated Planning with ABAP BW system) the BW system only had a Central Instance.  Since then an application server has been added on the BW side.  However, Integrated Planning only works from the CI because that is what the Portal JCo's are configured against.  so it cannot connect with the new app server.  Integrated Planning (via RSPLAN) from the app server will fail as the connection will now work.  This is causing some issues with users logging into BW.  If they want to do integrated planning, they must be on the Central Instance, not the app server.  For one thing, this defeats the purposes of load balancing if everyone logs onto the CI.  The question is can the portal be configured to connect to an additional server for the same BW system.  I'm not seeing any options in the JCo's for multiple servers for the same system.  Any pointers or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Running RSPLAN from the Central Instance brings up a browser with a logon screen and the the correct URL:
    http://<portal server>.mikl.com:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/biplanworkbench1/Modeler?
But running RSPLAN from the new app server brings up a brower with an error message, and the URL is:
    http://<BW server>:0/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=100
    error message:
    Error 401
FW-1 at cpwgw: Unauthorized to access the document.
    Authorization is needed for FW-1.
So a translation is not happening somewhere.  I verified that the myssocntl service is turned on.  And it works just fine for the CI.

  • Two-way forest trust between two (single domain) forests with multiple identical user ID's

Domain and forest levels - Windows 2003 (they both have one 2008 R2 DC)
We need to create a two-way forest trust between two separate single-domain forests. The problem is that these two forests already access each others resources through a S2S. Users have the same login names and passwords on both forests/domains. Now, we
are combining their infrastructures and need to set up a trust. From what I'm reading, you can't create forest trusts if you have the same SIDs, user ID's, or computer name in each of the forests.
I'm looking into AD migration tool to copy the userSIDs (SID history?) between forest/domain, deleting the user ID's in the domain we migrated from, and then setting up the trust, but I'm leery about doing it this way as there is no easy 'recovery' should
    something go wrong.
Any suggestions for the easiest way to setup this forest trust?

    Hi,
To eliminate your worries, two user accounts have the same user name doesn’t mean that they have the same SID. Moreover, the user’s SID remains the same even after it has been renamed.
The SID for domain account/group consists of a
Domain Identifier and a Relative Identifier. Domain Identifier is unique in every domain within a forest, and a Relative Identifier is unique within domain. It is unlikely that two user accounts with or without the same account
name from two forests have the same SID.
The Technet article you mentioned is talking about duplicate SIDs instead of “duplicate computer name or user account”, I will submit a change request to Microsoft about this.
If there are duplicate SIDs when you create forest trust, you need to delete one of them as the article guides.

  • Multiple ESS access to single EP server from two backend servers.

    Hi Experts,
I have one concern regarding ESS.
Can we do or can we make   two ESS access (R3 server1 and R3 Server2)  from one Portal server.
I heard  that from one portal server (ESS)  we can connect multiple clients which are from backend R3 (example client 100 and client 200)
    My requirement is  :
We have two R3 backend servers and one EP(ESS) server.
Can we access two backend systems from one EP server with Two ESS tabs.
I am expecting Multiple jco settings, multiple SSo, Multiple SLD, Multiple SPRO Menu settings, UWL settings.
Multiple service specific settings to be access  by using  single EP server(Multiple ESS Tabs)
Please help me for doing this.
    Regards
    Kumar.

yes you can do so As Pooja indicated also refer
Please have a look  at the Note 596698
Thanks for clearing that up, Now if I understand the issue
    correctly :
1 Portal, Two backend R/3 System, This can be done, Now then
if you dont want the particular application disable that
r/3 as you are aware that the links appear from V_T7XSSSERRES.
Here you can also make sure some applications appear or no.
    Accessing multiple Backends in WebDynpro:
    How it can be done?
    1) Define different JCO Destinations
The logical System names have to be defined in the Web Dynpro Content
    Administrator.
Different clients or completely different Systems can be accessed
given that the function modules called exist in those systemsThe logical System to be used can be passed to the Web Dynpro
Application by using a URL Parameter
The URL Parameter can be easily maintained in the iView Property when
    using the portal.
The standard way to handle this is to create copies (via delta-link) of
all the business package iviews and change the 'System' property in the
newly created iviews to point to the correct system Alias. From the
portal point of view this is all that is required in order to point an
    view to a different system

  • UWL-Tasks of two backend users to be displayed with one portal user id

We have a requirement where in user requires the tasks of two backend users to be displayed at a time through portal using Universal Work list.Is there any way to do so.pls advice.

    Hi,
I have the same requirement. Is it possible to achieve?
    The scenario is:
    - Two Portal Systems for the same backend (SAP R3) - one SSO and other with user mapping.
    - One Portal user
    - Two backend users
But when I go to "Universal Worklist - Administration" and insert the second Alias it put "Connected Through System Alias" and the task from the second alias don't appear in Portal.

  • Single Sign-On (Portal to R/3 Backend)

    Hi all,
Iu2019m trying to implement Single Sign On (SSO) between our SAP portal (front end) and SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 Backend.  Keep in mind this has nothing to do with Active Directory.
I read posting after posting from this site and I canu2019t tell you how much documentation and canu2019t seem to get to the root cause of the problem.
To sum it up, the Test connections in the Portal, which there are 3 (SAP Web AS Connection, ITS Connection, and Connection Test for Connectors)
The connection tests work for the first 2.  The one that fails is the Connector.
The errors are not much help.  Here is what I get.
    Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1.     Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2.     Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this object.
    Results:
    1.     Retrieval of default alias successful.
    2.     Connection failed.  Make sure the Single Sign-On is configured correctly.
Details:       Portal Host name = lansapdep01
         Backend Host name = lansapdev01
    Property Category:  Connector
    Application Host = lansapdev01
    Gateway Host = lansapdev01
    Logical System Name = devcln150
    Remote Host type = 3
    SAP Client = 150
SAP System ID <SID> = DEV
    System Number = 01
    Server Port 3600
    System Type =  SAP R/3

You use Server Port 3600, message server.
It means, while creating a system you used wrong template and picked "SAP system using dedicated application server".
You should use "SAP system with load balancing", since message server is doing load balancing.
Once you selected correct template you will see "Message Server" instead of App and GW servers.
    Make sure to fill in
Group  - Logon group to use. If not defined in R3, use SPACE
    Message Server - ansapdev01
    SAP Client = 150
SAP System ID <SID> = DEV
    Server Port 3600
    System Type = SAP R/3
    It should work.

  • Multiple Domains with one single Portal

We have installed Oracle Infrastructure and Oracle Midtier on one box. Let's say the domain name is http://www.abc.com. When we query http://www.abc.com, it
goes to the SSO (Infra) and validates the username and password and takes it back to the Mid-Tier Portal Pages. At this junction, everything is working as expected.
Now, we created two more webpages and they correspond to two domains -- let's say http://www.pqr.com and http://www.xyz.com. The two webpages that got created were PUBLIC pages, so anybody can have access to those pages.
Can we implement our requirements using one infrastructure and one midtier (1st)installation? OR do we install two more midtier (2nd, 3rd) to correspond
to each domain name which are www.pqr.com and www.xyz.com and then have the proxy server redirect the request for www.abc.com to 1st-Midtier, www.pqr.com
    to 2nd-Midtier and www.xyz.com to 3rd-Midtier?
We have a apache proxy server installed in front of the 9iAS, but we are going to use it just for redirection.
I understand Oracle Infrastructure has only ONE portal Schema and so how would multiple midtier (webpages) will reside? Do I need to create another PORTAL repository and a new DAD, so that www.pqr.com points to the 2nd-Portal Repository and www.xyz.com points to the 3rd-portal?

Through a single mid-tier it is possible to configure Oracle HTTP Server/Web Cache such that they are configured to handle multiple logical site names (e.g. www.pqr.com and www.xyz.com) by using Virtual Hosts.
In terms of a single Portal Repository being accessed by multiple mid-tiers (or logical sites), this is not currently possible since the Portal Repository is configured with only one set of site details.
For further information on configuring Virtual Hosts and Portal see the Advanced Chapter of the 10g Portal configuration guide...

    Hi,
yes, Karsten is correct. Just some background:
"User Mapping not fully available.." finally means that user mapping is configured to use strong encryption, but the main crypto key for user mapping is missing. Usually, that's because "SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit" and/or "JCE policy files for unlimited strength encryption" are not installed (or the server hasn't be restarted afterwards). The note will most likely help

  • In XI Mapping multiple fields mapping to single target field.

    Hi Friends,
In XI Mapping multiple fields mapping to single target field.
For example my requirement is :
    Source Fields:(This RFC BAPI Structure)
    Empno                0-1
    EmpName           0-1
    Address             0-1
    Taget Field is:
    Details               0-1
The above three fields passed to the Details Field. Here i am using Concat function
But i have one query on that on,Every field having "line Break" required.
Can you please help me out above this requirement.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sateesh N.

If you want a line break between the three fields, then try
passing a,b,c to the udf and in the udf you would have
    return a+"\n"+b+"\n"+c;

  • Multiple ESS's in one Portal connected to different backend systems?

    Hi,
We have two backend systems installed.
    We have one portal.
We want to create a second copy of the ESS Portal content connected to the the second backend.
Datawise this is not a problem.
But what about the JCo's and the Homepage Framework?
The WebDympro application seems to look for two specific JCo (for example SAP_R3_HumanResources and ...MetaData) and then both copies of ESS want to use this. Is it not possible to have each copy of ESS use it own JCo's and connect to its own backend system for the Homepage Frameworks?
    Thanks,
    Adriaan

    Adriaan,
Its NOT possible to even talk to different clients in same backend system because you cannot duplicate the JCos and while creating them you need to specify the system and client details.
Also it uses a system alias which also has to be unique.
Per my knowledge one portal instance can talk to only backend client and to talk to another backend / client you will need to create a new instance within the Portal.

  • Mapping SRM Portal roles with SRM backend roles

Using ABAP as UME when we create a user in SRM backend and assign backend roles, then corresponding portal roles should also get assigned to the
user so that portal roles are not to be assigned separately by portal admin.
Currently for the requirement I followed the following steps:
    1. To SAPJSF user in SRM backend assigned roles SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATIONand SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO.
    2. Created a RFC SPML of type 'G'.
    3. Activated UME-SPML connection in SPRO.
    4. Then in PFCG for the role personalization assigned PCD path of portalrole.
But I am not able to achieve the requirement through the aforesaid steps.
    Please Guide.
    Regards,
    Gagandeep.

If you are using ABAP persistency for UME your ABAP roles should appear in the UME as groups. Just assign the portal roles you need to your ABAP roles/groups. Thats it,
    cheers

  • Multiple LDAP to Single Portal Integration

    Hi All,
We are attempting to configure a Portal to pull users from multiple Active Directory sources.  I noticed SAP has posted an example of how to configure this, link below
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/89/c5fd430b63c74bbdfaa5f2ec9bb20b/frameset.htm
The issue I am having is that the supplied default sap configuration file "dataSourceConfiguration_ads_readonly_db.xml" which only configures one directory to connect into the UME is 220 lines long, whereas the example given above to connect two directories  is 39 lines long and missing a lot of variables.
Does anyone have any working examples of a configuration file that is pulling from multple directories??

    Hey Mickey,
yes I'm almost positive that this is possible.
I could be wrong but this is what I'm thinking:
On your dns server create 2 entries
    X.Yourcompany.com
    Y.Yourcompany.com
point both to your portal URL
    yourcompany/portal/server.pt
create 2 new experience rule using the first option in the rule manager "If portal url is any of the following url's".
Attach a custom experience definition to each rule and create a different landing page for each experience definition.
In actuality I don't think you can select a "PAGE" but only a "Community" for the landing.
I'm hazy on the dns terms - but I think the concept is correct.

  • Single Portal to connect to multiple back end ECC system

    Hi Experts,
I want to connect existing SAP Portal 7.3 to new ECC(ECC EHP 5) System for ESS MSS.
The requirement is that my existing backend system (ECC EHP 5 ) should also exist. i.e. I should able to use current portal to connect to existing SAP ECC System as well as new ECC System with single portal .
Please let me know how it works in ABAP Webdynpro?
Do let me know how this can be achieved ? Is the same portal url be used to access the 2 different backend system for ESS MSS.
    -Pravesh

    Hi Pravesh,
for using different backend systems in the same portal, just adapt these systems in your system landscape and define your system aliases in appropriate iViews or write a DSR service.

  • Displaying multiple dynamic html pages within a single Portal folder.

    Hi all,
Question: How can I display multiple dynamic html pages that are linked to each other, within a single portal folder?
    History:
I have a designer/web server application (PL/SQL packakges) on Oracle
8.1.7. Early in the development process we built it into WebDB2.2 and
used folders on the left side as a navigation bar and the contents of my packages on the right side. This was easy, WebDB used Frames.
Unfortunatley I could never automatically display a PL/SQL item in the folder area.
Now I need to integrate the application into Portal 3.0 not the early adopters version, the one with 9iAS (NT for now, Unix later). I have a page/content area divided into regions and a navigation portlet on the left side containing links to PL/SQL folders whose contents are displayed on the right side. On the right side I have (for example) a Queryview. When I click on any of the buttons (i.e. Find, New), I land in a new page outside of my portal folder. This page contains a dynamically built list (from one or more DB Tables) and of course the first column contains a list of links that bring you to the individual item. How do I set my links or configure my folder to display
    within the portal folder area?

    Hi,
One alternate is, increase the size of your screen, for this go to the layout of your screen and increase it as much you want, and also the custom container size, so that no scroll bar will appear at least.
Other solution would be, as you said ALVs will be dynamical, it will be good to create buttons, or links on the screen based on the no of ALVs dynamically and on click of corresponding button call the corresponding ALV.
But i dont think this will serve, first check the first option.
    Hope this helps u.,
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran.

I have a a Retail Version of iWork '08. How do I determine if this is for a single user or multiple users?
    Thank you

So the next question is can I "unregister" this from my iMac thus allowing me to either reistall it on another machine or perhaps sell it?
Yes, you can. Apple doesn't "track" serial numbers, but you are doing the right thing by removing iWork '08 & it's registration. The file that keeps the serial number is the com.apple.iWork08.plist found in HD > Library > Preferences. This is the Library on the first level of your HD, not your user Library.
