MD04 not matching Inbound Delivery GR Qty

Please help me understand what is happening in MD04.
We have a month-long scheduling agreement with a vendor.  The agreement has hundreds of line items.  The vendor sends ASNs to us as shipments are made against the agreement.  The ASNs create inbound deliveries in our system.  Several ASNs are received and processed daily.
The following situation occurred today.  A similar situation occurs most days, but it is not necessarily for the same mateirlal.
At 5AM an inbound delivery document created in the system.  Among the dozen materials on it was material A with a quantity of 240.  MD04 shows a quantity of 180 for that material on the inbound delivery, with an MRP exception of 15 (Reschedule out).  When I drill into the detials of the element, I can see a GR quantity of 240 u2013 matching the inbound delivery document.
At 7AM, a second inbound delivery came in, which has 120 units of material A (among other materials).  MD04 shows a quantity of 120 for this delivery.  This line also has the MRP exception 15 for the inbound delivery.
Why would the line for the 5AM delivery show a quantity of 180 instead of the GR quantity of 240?  Why does a line for a delivery created 2 hours later show the correct quantity?
Regards,
Ken

Update to this strange situation:  the ShipNt line in the stock/requirements list that appears to report a receivable quantity less than what is on the inbound delivery refers to an inbound delivery that has already been received in MIGO.  For some reason, this peculiar line item of the inbound delivery lingers on the stock requirements list after goods receipt.  Other line items on the same inbound delivery have dropped off their respective stock/requirements lists as expected.
We see this behavior when the ShipNtu2019s start to u201Cstack upu201D in the stock/requirements list.  When the last (most recent) inbound delivery is posted as received, the peculiar line drops off the list.
I think this has something to do with the confirmation control key 0004 for the scheduling agreement line item.
Still searchingu2026..

    Hi,
When i am trying to create Inbound delivery using the function module 'BBP_INB_DELIVERY_CREATE' getting an error message as 'Item 000010 does not exist' though it exists in the PO. I could not able to findout the issue, am i missing anything here.
    Passing the following parameters:
    IS_INB_DELIVERY_HEADER-DELIV_DATE
    IT_INB_DELIVERY_DETAIL-MATERIAL
    IT_INB_DELIVERY_DETAIL-DELIV_QTY
    IT_INB_DELIVERY_DETAIL-UNIT
    IT_INB_DELIVERY_DETAIL-PO_NUMBER
    IT_INB_DELIVERY_DETAIL-PO_ITEM  = '00010'
Though passing only 00010, getting an error as '000010 does not exist', not sure why it was looking for '000010' instead of '00010'.

  • Receipt Qty in AP invoice does not match with actual receipt qty.

    Hello everyone,
I am facing an issue in oracle Payables module. When we match invoice with receipt while preparing invoices, Quantity received shown in the Receipt quantity block in invoice window does not match with actual receipt quantity of that item. Due to this difference user is not able to book the invoice. Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Himanshu Gupta

Exactly. What i mean is in the invoice window, There is a block called reciept quantity shown in the lower part. The received quantity displayed in that block is more the actual quantity being recieved. (when we see the recieving transactions). is this a bug?
thanks for your reply, awaiting your response......

  • GR QUANTITY NOT MATCH WITH SALES ORDER QTY IN DELIEVERY

    Hello Experts.
due to over delivery tolerance in purchase order , some times we do gr for more than sales order qty for an item
for eg in sales order item qty = 3000
and during GR we receive 3052 due to delivery tolerence
so  at the time of making delivery thru vl01n sales order qty copies which is 3000 .
i need that sys should copy the qty from GR qty OR sys shud give an error msg , for this is there any Configuration method in sap
    OR using Enhancement
    Regards: Hemant

    Hi
Check whether the sales order creation date and actually when you created the delivery ? if say u created the sales order yesterday with yesterday date as delivery date and carried out delivery process to day means. The delivery date in the delivery process will be today date in that case delivery date wont match with sales order. This is one case like that so many cases are there.
Material might not be confirmed etc....

    Hi All,
In the billing document the item number is coming from Shipment document. ie., there are three deliveries in a shipment. Each delivery has got one line item, ie., 10. These three deliveries are assigned to a shipment, the order in which the deliveries are attached if we take as 10 for first delivery, 20 for th esecond and 30 for the third, In billing document the billing from first delivery is getting the item number as 10, the second delivery's billing document is getting the item number as 20 and the third as 30.
Can someone please reply where and how this is configured?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
first look at IMG/Sales and Distribution/ Billing / Maintain Copying Control For Billing Documents / Copying control: Delivery document to billing document
There is a field "Copy item number from reference"

  • Dates in MD04 not matching with dat00 field of structure MDTBX

    Hi,
I am trying to populate MDTBX structure using DTNUM field of MDKP as follows.
"IMPORT mdtbx FROM DATABASE mdtc(ar) ID wa_mdkp-dtnum".
Now the DATOO field of MDTBX will be same as dates in MD04 for a material , plant and a Vendor.
But for some vendors DATOO of MDTBX has more dates when compared to dates in MD04 for the same Material and Plant.
Why it happens so? I need the reply urgently. Kindly help me in this regard.

    Hi,

  • Control GR Qty while posting with ref. to Inbound delivery

    Hi,
We have an inbound delivery process where Inbound delivery is made against the PO and subsequently GR is made against the inbound delivery.
While posting GR via MB0A with ref. to inbound delivery, the qty can be modified at GR Stage. We want to ensure that GR Qty is always equal to Inbound Deliery Quantity.
Is there any customisation available?? Or it can only be controlled using User Exit only.
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards
    C.A. Shankar

    Hi Shankar,
For this you have to go for seperate Doc. type for Inbound based GR.
In the document type you can control the field as display maode in Qty field. this will not possible to change.

  • Issue while deleting Inbound delivery.

    Hello All,
Here there is an issue while deleting Inbound delivery.
GR ie 101 movement type is done for 1000 stocks.
Later GR reversal ie 102 movement type is done for 200 stocks.
So now in MD04 transaction inbound delivery is opened for 200 stocks.
I am trying to delete Inbound delivery for 200 stocks but it doent allow.
    wht to do?please help

I think you have used 102 and manully amend the qty.
The inbound has 1000 qty, you reverse 200 qty. You should amend inbound delivery document qty to 800 and not delete it.
Appreciate to revert is solution works for you.

  • Creation of Inbound delivery without Order acknowledgment

    Hi,
We have a scenario where we raise Purchase order to Vendor. The Vendor sent the confirmation (Delivery date, qty, etc) via IDOC. This updates the Order acknowledgement and also the confirmation information in PO.
When the Vendo creates a Outbound delivery in this system, it sends another IDOC which creates a Inbound delivery automatically in my system.
In some cases the confirmation IDoc fails. We want that in such case the Inbound delivery should be created unless we get the correct confirmation.
In other words, system should not create Inbound delivery if order acknowledgement fails.
Is this possible in standard SAP

    Hi,
What is the reason for not generating inbound delivery without a confirmation? Wouldn't the business on receiving plant be interested in getting inbound delivery asap, so that they can plan their operations based on the incoming goods details?
I don't think you can control that simply from confirmation control key. There is the 'expected sequence' but it does not stop the process if you proceed without confirmation.
Note that there are lots of other complications if there was such a requirement. What if first item is fully confirmed, but another is not. Would you like to create inbound delivery only for the confirmed item?
And what for Scheduling Agreements? The confirmations/inbound deliveries are at item level only (and not at delivery schedule line). So you don't fully control what quantities were confirmed and which are still 'open' for confirmation.
If you want to apply such a logic, then most probably custom solution at inb. delivery creation would be required.

  • MD04-Returns PO and Delivery

    Hi All,
Please help me understand stock/requirements list (MD04) with respect to return PO.
when a return PO is created and a delivery is created for that, both the MRP elements (return PO and the delivery ) appear in MD04 screen.
The stock/requirements calculation is done with the MRP element ( Return PO) and when a delivery is created for the return PO, the delivery is also displayed as MRP element. The return PO does not disappear and the stock/requirements calculation is not udpated with respect to the corresponding delivery.
Why does the return PO not work in the same way as that of sales order (where the sales order disappears upon delivery creation)  or that of a planned order ( where the planned order disappears upon creation of production order).
Is it possible to have only 1 requirement (either the return PO or the delivery), but not both together.
    Regards,
    CB

    Dear,
You define whether you expect to receive substitute deliveries relating to the shipping notification. In other words, you define whether the shipping notification should become MRP active again so you do not, or no longer expect the difference quantity from the point of view of materials planning.
    ·        1. Do Not Close Inbound Delivery
If you do not close the inbound delivery then you expect to receive further quantities/dates to the amount of the quantity that is still open. In other words, the shipping notification becomes MRP-active again.
    ·        2. Close Inbound Delivery
If you close the inbound delivery then a shipping notification or order item is regarded as closed, even if the goods receipt quantity differs from the notified quantity. The remaining quantity is then no longer taken into account in MRP.
In this case, you could also specify in the quantity difference profile whether or not the scheduled quantity should be adjusted.
Create Return Delivery with Outbound Delivery
You define whether a return delivery is created with or without an outbound delivery:
    ·        1. Return delivery without outbound delivery
This means that a material document is generated immediately when you post the return delivery.
In the purchase order history you see a material document for the goods receipt and one for the return delivery.
    ·       2.  Return delivery with outbound delivery
This means that the system automatically creates an outbound delivery in the background when you post quantity differences in Goods Receipt Automotive.
The material document is not generated until goods issue for the outbound delivery has taken place. In the purchase order history and the confirmation overview for the scheduling agreement you see the return delivery as a separate delivery.
The MRP-reduced quantity does not change by the amount of the returned quantity until goods issue has taken place for the outbound delivery. The inbound delivery and the outbound delivery are then calculated in MRP terms.
The quantity that is still open is proposed again when an inbound delivery (with reference to a scheduling agreement) is created.
The inbound delivery and the related outbound delivery are displayed in the confirmation overview for the scheduling agreement. The External Document of the outbound delivery in the confirmation overview specifies the related inbound delivery.
You have posted a goods receipt of 10 pc for an inbound delivery.
Due to quality problems you return 2 pc.
In the confirmation history you see two rows, one for the inbound delivery and one for the outbound delivery/return delivery. The MRP-reduced quantity is calculated by taking into account both the inbound delivery and the outbound delivery/return delivery, making the MRP-reduced quantity 8 pc.
    Also check the below link:

    Hope it will help.

  • Automatic inbound delivery creation.

    Hi All
In our STO process, when the outbound delivery is created from the issuing plant it should automatically create inbound delivery in the receiving plant. I think it is happening by triggering output type SPED.
In some cases for the same STO we are able to get inbound delivery for few items and not for other items.
First of all i want to understand usage of SPED and secondly why we are not getting inbound delivery in some cases.
    Thanks & Regards
    Amit

    Hi
Adding to what i have asked, why SPED didn't worked for some materials. What can be the possible points?

  • Order acknowledgment as inbound delivery

    Hi,
I'm trying to find out if there is a possibility to create Vendor order acknowledgment (AB type) with internal category '1' as inbound delivery?
We have both '1' (AB) and '2' (LA) types in confirmation control key setup, however when generating inbound deliveries only the 'LA' is taken.
So the question is whether there is any possibility to create first inbound delivery for 'AB' acknowledgment (non MRP-relevant)and then another one for shipping notification (which should be MRP-relevant)?
    Thanks,
    DM

This is purchasing process from external Vendors.
If not via inbound delivery, is there any other standard way to capture 'order acknowledgment' for PO (or Scheduling Agreements) than only in PO items? Any separate document that can be generated for ord. acknowledgment?

  • How inbound delivery will get processed in receving plant in stock transfer

    Hi,
We are doing a stock transport scenario with one step procedure. Can you please confirm whether following things are possible ?
1.With one step procedure stock transfer we want good receipt to be posted in receving plant automatically after good issue from supplying plant. This is happening after you select indicator of one step.
But will system post GR if inbound delivery is posted in receving plant when you set up one step indicator?
2.We tried to create inbound delivery in receiving plant but we are getting error of " Vendor account number & vendor address indicator". If you go to see technical details it shows these entries are to be in VBPA table. We maintained all  entries in vendor master but still we could not create inbound delivery. We are creating inbound delivery to check whether system post GR with one step procedure.
    Please reply.
    Regards,
    Prashant

You are abosolutely right if plants are near one step procedure is used. Here the case is same.
But client  mentioned shipping notification relation ship between two plants.Do you think is it possible?
I am able to create inbound delivery without vendor name in field in inbound delivery. When I PGI'd  delivery it has post GR in receiving plant but inbound delivery remained open.
    Please comment.
    Thanks for reply.

  • PO delivery date vs Inbound delivery date

    Hi,
I'm using message number M7-254 and set it as Error message. When I do GR w/ ref to inbound delivery the message M7-254 still considers/reads the PO del date instead of inbound del date during GR. Can it be modified to read the del date from inbound when there's inbound del created for the PO?
Or if not, can you advise another system message that would best suit our customer's requirement where system blocks GR if posting date not equal inbound delivery date?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marianne,
    A quick thought:
Use the BADI - ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST & the method - PROCESS_SCHEDULE to copy the delivery date as per your inbound document to the field - Latest GR Date in Delivery tab of the Item details section.
Then in OMCQ flag the message M7 163 message as E. This would ensure that the system will not allow GR to be done after this date.
    Hope the above helps.
    Regards,
    Vivek
