MDM 7.1 SP02 - Tuple Validations missing (but available in SP01)?

Question to those already using MDM 7.1 SP02...
Did the Tuple Validations feature go missing from the DataManager Records menu? (Records - Validations - Tuple Validations)
I could swear it was available on SP01. The Repository Migration Best Practices guide even has a nice screenshot of the popup for "Edit Tuple Validations".

Never mind - the feature is now available via the usual Validations tab

if my memory is right, please forget BP for CE server.
change track is just some java application , which can deployed by nwds or jspm.

(I should have been able to work that out for myself.)
I just assumed smpatch was not working at all, so had not tried smpatch get, but I did have those variables in the output from previous runs of suc.sh on both machines to compare.
(I think maybe I should also not try to just "fit" this sort of thing into my schedule late on a Friday night after a busy week (we are short staffed and stressed at the moment - two car crashes and a mountain bike crash have reduced task accomplishment somewhat) especially when my contact lenses are glugged up and I can't see the screen properly (hard to tell the difference between "*" and "+")
So, MORE red face :-(
I knew about the java versioning problem and thought I had changed it
I must apologize for bothering you - but I am most grateful for your help.
BTW - what I did (just in case it helps anyone else) ....

Multi-valued Tuple Validation from Main record

Hi All,
does somebody know how I can do a Validation from the Main Table against multivalues Tuple field?
The option for validation on the tuple table (dropdown list of all tuples) doesn't work for me as I am able to set the validation there only against the Tuple member fields, but not with reference to the Main Table record standard fields.
I try to do the validation against the Tuple[Record] field, but it doesn't work, even that it works on the Qualified field.
I need to achieve the following:
1. We have records in the main table containing one multivalued Tuple field. The tuple field has 1 Display field, which is lookup(text) field against lookup table. In this lookup table we have 2 display field: Source and Code (The source can be "W1" or "W2");
2. We want to check:
- if the field X of a record from the main table = "W1" - the choosen Tuple record should not contain W2;
- if the field X of a record from the main table = "W2" - the choosen Tuple record should not contain W1;
I tryed with this validation: IF(X=W1,HAS_ALL_VALUES(TUPLE.[RECORD],"W2")), but it always gives me FALSE.
I tryed also with FIND but the result is the same.
Did somebody found a way how to do it?

Hi Ilin,
This is achievable.
Firstly select Main table in Validation tab and create Validation say XYZ, write Validation expression as:
X=W1
Select W1 from lookups tab under assignment expression.
Write click on this validation and go for Edit Validation Groups, right click on validation Groups and Add Child
say X=W1 then Tuple <> W2. Select in Validation XYZ Group Property as X=W1 then Tuple <> W2 from Available Group to Selected Group.
Now Select this Tuple from drop-down under validation tab (not Main table). Since here you can see and select all the Fields of your Tuple only. Create a validation say ABC. Select the field in this tuple which is look-up to field which has values W1 and W2 Say this field is XX. Write Validation Expression as
XX.(record) Not equal to operator "W2"
I am not able to write Not Equal operator, so please select this operator from Operators tab under Assignment Expression.
Here since you can't select value from lockups tab, i mean disabled then manually write W2 (Case Sensitive) within double quotes. Also make sure that here you too add Validation ABC Group propery as X=W1 then Tuple <> W2 from Available Group to Selected Group.
Now select any record in main table, right click on it Validations>Execute Group>X=W1 then Tuple <> W2
You will get your desired result. you would able to see two columns under Records with name XYZ and ABC, if both of this has tick mark Only then validation is considered to be successful. if any of this has cross mark, i mean if X = tick mark symbol and XX = cross mark Symbol then this validation considers to be failed and vice-versa.
You can similarly do for below too.
If the field X of a record from the main table = "W2" - the choosen Tuple record should not contain W1;
Just check it and revert with result. This is working fine at my end.

MDM 5.5 SP02 Error during import of Customer Data

Hello,
I am a beginner in MDM 5.5.
I tried to import the customer data via the import manager. I got the error message:
<b>" E1KNA1M wasn't found in the source "</b>
What's wrong with this repository ? I used the DEBMDM06 for extraction out of an R/3 4.7. The XML-file includes this segment !
Can someone help me ?

Let me fill you in with the my environment info. I am using MDM SP 02 with SQL Server on Windows XP.
I am following the SAP NetWeaver MDM 5.5 SP02
Scenario Configuration Guide to import customer Data from R/3 to MDM repository via XI, idoc.
According to guide I was able to extract the Customer data from R/3, and using XI (and FTP) I was able to get the data file customer.dat (which is in XML format).
In console I tried to setup the client system as a you specified, but here is what I see in my MDM console
Name: MDC (R/3 4.6 DEBMDM05)
Code: MDC (R/3 4.6 DEBMDM05)
Client System: Import [ for this field it shows me Import, Export, Import/Export options only and not the inbound/outbound as you specified]. If I select option Import then only it will show this Client System while defining the Port.
For port definition it shows following fields
[Port]
Name : R3Import
Code : R3Import
Type : Inbound
Data Definition: [ dropdown options are Access, Excel, XML, Flat Text, XML Schema. Were you referring this field as the 'Format' field.]
XML Schema: I selected DEBMDM05 from dropdown.
Client System : MDC (R/3 4.6 DEBMDM05)
Map: [ dropdown does not have any values to select and I can not type in that field]
If you are still with me, what are the correct settings for Client system and port?
How those settings are being used in Import Manager?
On Connect to Source dialogue screen what should I select/enter for following fields?
Type : [options are Access, Excel, ODBC, Oracle, Port, SQL Server, XML, XML Schema]
Should I be using Client System and Port or XML/XML Schema????
Client System: MDC (R/3 4.6 DEBMDM05)
Port : [ Why this value 'R3Import' is grayed out??? ]

XML Validation in PI 7.1 - Restart and skip validation possible, but how?

I read about schema validation in PI 7.1 and did a few tests on my own, but could not restart and skip validation for invalid payloaded messages. The documents say it is possible.
Anyone know how? Thanks.
BTW, I really think putting the schemas in server file system will cause a lot of authorization trouble in enterprises. No one gives access to the server filesystem and I don't think they will also like to open the required subdirectories for share. Asking the basis team to create the folder structures and maintaining schemas would be another pain. Don't you also think that SAP could find a better approach, like automatically uploading the schemas to the filesystem, or validating them from repository directly if possible?

I am facing the same issue.
I set up outbound xml validation in receiver agreement and tested it with valid and invalid messages.
The validation works fine.
But in case of validation error I tried to restart with skipping the validation. But this wasn't possible.
I am always facing the same valdiation error.
I already tried all different tools I know (sxi_monitor, message monitoring in rwb and in nwa)
I am working on PI 7.11 SP6
Did you find a solution for skipping the validation for a single message out of the monitoring?
I know that there is the possibility of deactivate the validation in receiver agreement but thid doesn't meet the requirement of skip the validation only for a single message.
Maybe anyone else faced and solved this issue already.

Files Missing But There

I am using a 8GB flash drive to store files. I use Windows 7 in virtualization to develop macros in EXCEL which are stored on the drive also. Up until two weeks ago I had no problems accessing files stored on the drive (EXCEL and other files). Now I can see the files when I open the drive from the desktop (in OSX) but cannot access any of the files from OSX. This includes power point, dreamweaver, etc. I can access any or all of them from the virtualization.
I purchased a new flash drive and copied the files from the old drive to the new drive but the same problem remains.
Since these are all files for classes I am teaching, any help will be greatly appreciated.

If I use PowerPoint or Excel in the Windows 7 virtualization, they work fine. When I try to open them in PowerPoint or Excel in OS X I get an error that the files are not there.
I've never seen such a message before... can you post the exact text of one of those messages? What version of Microsoft Office for the Mac are you using, and what version of Office are you using in Windows 7?
Perhaps, do you not have a copy of Microsoft Office for the Mac? If that's the case, trying to open those files would give a message that the application that created them could not be found. If that's the case, it's not the files that are missing but the application. You have to have Microsoft Office for the Mac, or something else that recognizes Office files (like iWork), to open those files on your Mac.

Normally you will be asked to provide the new prdouct serial number first, then when a qualifying version is not found you elect to provide that information and then select the version and provide its serial number. If this is not how things are flowing for you then you should contact Adobe support directly thru chat and get their help resolving it.

Can you please take a screen capture by pushing the home button and the power switch on the iPad. This will place the screen capture in your photo album. Mail Messages "Missing" --- but not really

SO I had to do a full restore from a Time machine disk recently because of a cyclical boot problem I was having --- I ended up losing a days worth of work but it was time critical that I get up and going again sooner then later so I did a full restore. Every thing came back OK except for Mail --- All of my mail is there but when you click the view them them the actual message portion of the e-mail is missing --- BUT If I enter time machine and look back at them they are there. a very strange bug. Anybody have a suggestion?

Report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/ folder in the Finder.
In order to post the exact file names and avoid typing mistakes, proceed as follows. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. With that folder open, if you’re looking at it in View > as List mode, first collapse any expanded folders so that the Finder only shows the files and folders at the first level of ~/Library/Mail/. Now, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post.
Before actually posting that information, edit it so that the file/folder names do not reveal any details you should keep private, e.g. replace any real username with “username” to hide your real email address. Other than that, report the file/folder names as accurately as possible.
Now, go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/. With that folder open, repeat the procedure to let me see the names of the files and folders it contains. Again, you may disguise any mailbox names you wish to keep private. Be careful to not alter any suffixes, though.
Finally, report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/Mac-username/ account folder.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.
