Missing Library Folder after 10.9.4 update
I recently competed the 10.9.4 Update on my MacBook Pro, and have since lost access to the Library Folder. It used to be located on my computer in the following.
/Users/{User Name}/Library/Application Support/{Application}/{File Name}
Has anyone had success in retrieving this folder? I am able to still save content to this folder, however it is not there for me to access the folder.

I have just installed Illustrator CS6 and am working my way through the lessons and have not been able to locate the Preferences file until now ... have spent ages on the internet trying to find the solution. Many people were suggesting doing the "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" solution. I was a little nervous doing this so carried on looking. Eventually found your suggestion of "Go To Folder and type ~/Library" and it worked! MANY THANKS!
Btw I couldn't do it via the Show View Options and Show Library Folder - I wasn't able to see that option ....

I noticed when I use thinkertool and
click Show hidden & sys files, my
"jtmadman" folder is there in my User folder.
Why is it hidden??

what do i do with my downloads in my downloads folder after software has been updated? do i move it to trash? or??
So it would be safe to just delete them? the reason why i ask is because for example when i first stared using youtube on my macbook pro(OSX Lion) it required the flash update. I updated flash but the download still remained in the download file on the dock. So it would be safe to delete once it was updated correct?

I lost my library folder under user after intalling the Lion...
What happened?
Actullay I experienced several times before,
First sign is I got a messege my backup was not working due to volume insuffcient volume.
and I realized Suddenly my used volume of hard drive was increased up to near 1 TB from 600G.
I've checked and found the mail folder under library had 300G file due to some reason...
I removed it, and backup was working.
At this time I experienced same thing, but this time I cannot find my library folder or mail folder,
and mail was frequently down.
What should I do?

I no longer can find the Library folder in my home folder. Does anyone know where it is?
yes it was hidden in Lion for your protection To see, select Go in finder and press the alt/option key and u will see. if you want to change permanently, there is a terminal command to do that, look to the right of this page under "More like this"

Library gone after 9.1.1 update
After downloading the 9.1.1 update, my library went missing. I followed the instructions to a "T" about dragging the iTunes folder to my desktop and then renaming my previous library from the day I made the update (2010-05-23) to "iTunes Library", but it didn't work. Now I don't have the most recent previous library file to even try that again. Help anyone? Thanks in advance
I have about 7 different previous libraries, but the instructions for renaming them etc. are not working, and iTunes Customer service is not help AT ALL. I had several tracks that were over 12,000 plays, so I would be so sad to restart (especially since I just got a new computer and had to just do that to it--and even it is saying iTunes is not installed properly and I can't import cds--plus it hasn't let me update it to 9.1.1 when I click to do so--which I guess is a good thing!). What puzzles me is the different file sizes of the previous libraries. After I renamed my most recent one to iTunes Library, it seemed to make the file smaller, so I'm afraid the update did something to it to rewrite it.
Is there a number I can call? -
Why is ringtone in limbo in iTunes and missing from iPhone after last iOS 6 update?
I have a ringtone that I purchased that has now disappeared from my iPhone 5 after the last iOS 6 update. If I look in iTunes (which is an abomination in itself and not intuitive in any way), in the On This iPhone tab of the iPhone page, with Tones selected on the left hand side menu,
I see the ringtone "Stewie Mom Mom Mom" grayed out with a weird circle to the left of it . I have a second ringtone that is also visible there, with no weird circle.
If I go to the Tones tab of the iPhone page, I see that Sync Tones is checked and it shows 1 tone synched...the one without the weird circle shown in Tones.jpg is actually on my iPhone, so that is the 1 tone. No matter what I do to try to manually sync the tones to my iPhone, Stewie Mom Mom Mom is never copied to the iPhone.
Can somebody please tell me how to get this orphan ringtone back on my iPhone? What does the weird circle mean? I've gone to the iTunes store on my phone and also in the iTunes app on my computer and in both places when I view the ringtone in the store, it's acting like I never purchased it. It's not like $1.29 is so much that I wouldn't pay for the ringtone again, but honestly I don't trust that the ringtone won't be orphaned again and again, and I'm not just going to keep buying it over and over. HELP!This happened to me to.
It took me a while to figure out a solution, but this may or may not work for you.
Long story short, previous versions of iTunes used the Ringtones folder to store all tones, but now iTunes uses the Tones folder.
(I had copied my library of music from one computer to another, where the old computer used an older version of iTunes. I assume most users aren't affected by this, because they normally just upgrade iTunes on their primary computer, and the upgrade process probably takes care of renaming the Ringtones folder to Tones)
For example, my media folder is set to be:
C:\Users\vincetg2\Music
so all my old tones files were in:
C:\Users\vincetg2\Music\Ringtones
but iTunes was expecting them to be in:
C:\Users\vincetg2\Music\Tones
To solve this, I moved all the files in the 'old' Ringtones folder to the 'new' Tones folder (you should create it if it's not already there):
then dragged the files into iTunes' Tones section:
and then synced (erase and sync) the tones over to my iPhone:

Missing My Folder after copy catalog

We need to migrate repository and webcat from test to prod. After i copied catalog to the specific folder in BI server and uploaded repository, i am able to see the reports under Shared Folder. But all the reports under My Folder are not shown. Does anyone know why? Thanks.Hi guys,
I had a very similar problem: with Catalog manager we archived all catalog, then we tried to restore the catalog to recover some missing analysis.
In Catalog folder, under users folder i can see my files resotred (both file and .atr), but in Answer i loose "My Folders" for each users! i.e. in left panel i see only "Shared Folders".
In OBIPS log i can read:
"Account inconsistent -- no access to home dir- typically this occurs then a user has been deleted..."
But i haven't delete that user.
I tried also to create a new user, but still don't see "My Folders" for the new user.

Missing btwhidcs.dll after 7zbv19ww.exe bluetooth update

Eversince I tried unsuccesfully updateing my bluetooth driver using 7zbv19ww.exe I've got an error starting BTTray.exe during startup with the explanation that btwhidcs.dll is missing.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth drivers? Make sure Bluetooth is switched on (Fn-F5).

Missing Boot Camp after 10.6.2 update
I have just updated from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2 through software update facility. I noticed my boot camp disk (a separate disk inside my my Mac Pro) is now missing. I can't see it in disk utilities or Tech Tool Pro. How do I find out if it is still there or physically broken. Luckily it's only used for testing websites so not urgent but can someone shed some light maybe?

what exactly do you mean? what do you see in disk utility when you select your whole hard drive? also, click on the partition tab. what do you see there?

It's hidden. To unhide it open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the prompt:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

Missing Display Setting after 10.5.6 Update
Several days ago, I updated all three Macs from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 -- each separately via Software Update. All went smoothly. However, with the mini, I have an HP w2007 20" monitor that prefers a setting of 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Mhz. Under .5, not a problem. However, all of the 1680 x 1050 settings are missing from the Display control panel since the .6 update. Does anyone have a clue as to how I can get the 1680's back?
That was not successful in terms of reacquiring the 1680's. The update went smoothly. The list in the settings skips from 1600x1200@100Mhz to 1920x1440@60Mhz. This is the same as before the update.
Any other ideas? I did see a mention on MacFixIt that others have experienced this problem but there were no suggestions regarding a fix. -

Try this:
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

CarbonLib - Shared Library Error after 10.4.3 Update
Recently I have begin to notice that I am receiving an error seen below. This applies to Word, Fireworks, Win Media Player and others.
This is really annoying me now and I have googled for it and the way people resolved it was to reinstall Tiger. I don't want to have to do that and loose all my work, apps and everything else. There is a deep nit stuff on my mac and I don't want to loose it. My question: Does anyone know an alternative way of solving it and/or does archve and install clear my setting and apps and only keep my files (would this also solve the problem)?
