Missing search operator

Hi all,
I need to implement a search form that allow me to match exactly a string attribute (e.g. if I search for the string TIME I don't want to get the item with the attribute equals to SOMETIME).
The problem is that the wwsbr_search_api.submit_search API doesn't support the operator Equals for the string but just for numbers and dates. Is there any workaround for this or should I rewrite the search API from scratch?

Sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with Frame at this stage of the game. I think the placeholders come into play here. So you may need to experiment with inserting those.
When you create output from RoboHelp, you are able to choose the specific Index you wish to include in the output. Have you ensured you have done this? Additionally, I do believe that for a merged CHM setup a couple of things have to be in place for the index to show.
The master project has to have at lest one keyword defined and mapped to a topic
The index must be configured as Binary
To add a keyword to the master you will need to display the Index Designer pod. Unfortunately it's not straightforward. You do it by expanding the Index pseudo-folder in the Project Manager pod. Then double-click the index listed.
Now you add a term to the index.
From here you ensure Binary is enabled. Click File > Project Settings...
Then when you generate output, ensure you are pointing at the right index.

Missing: Search Tab

I'm trying to output a project into a CHM file using RoboHelp 8, and the resulting output completely lacks a Search tab. It's got a Contents tab, an Index tab, and that's it. (The project doesn't have a glossary, so the lack of glossary is no big surprise.) I searched through the forums, and the closest problems I saw were from people whose search tabs "didn't work." However, the fix in that situation (re-registering some DLL files), didn't work for me. I'm hoping someone out there has some insight into how to find a missing search tab. Thanks!

Add search operator NE (not equal) by "user status" in Leads?

Hi, I added the operator following the procedure
Open TX: SM34
There use view cluster CRMVC_DQ
Selecte the entry: KompName = BT ; DQuery Objectname = BTQLead
Mark search operator "NE" and save
I add the operator, but both "EQ" and "NE" gives me the same results.
Who can help me?

Is it possible to add 'NE' (not equal to) operator to the activity search page. If yes, please let me know how.Right now it has only 'is' operator.

I had the time to try it myself today.
Open TX: SM34
There use view cluster CRMVC_DQ
Selecte the entry: KompName = BT ; DQuery Objectname = BTQAct
Click on the lower level on the left, should be named like "Exceptions per attribute"
Select the entry: KompName = BT ; DQuery Objectname = BTQAct ; Attribute Name = STATUS_COMMON
Mark search operator "NE" and save.
Now you are able to do not equal searches for the attribute.
I have tried this in the WebClient and in the BOL Browser. It works.

IR Default Search operator change

APEX version: 4.0
I want to change the IR default search operator as 'LIKE' instead of 'CONTAINS'. but I know both are simply different by upper(). The APEX generates the IR filter query in where clause as below,
In default the where clause (I selected a column and give the value in the search field)
where (upper("COLUMN_NAME") like '%'||upper(:APXWS_EXPR_1)||'%') )
After Editing the filter and changing the operator as 'Like',
where ("COLUMN_NAME" like :APXWS_EXPR_1) )
Is there any way to change the default operator in IR??

Very nice. Thank you for sharing this.
In my case, I ended up using an After Refresh even on the IR so that the selection would go back to the value I want since the values are "forgotten" after a selection is made.

Searching operation functions differently

I have a strange problem. I created an entity bean with bean managed persistence to work with LDAP.
When I perform a search as in
dirContext.dirContext.search("o=seagate.com", "uid=pwilson", new SearchControls()) ;
and the uid is present in LDAP
I do get a SearchResult from the operation with the object when running from a regular class outside Weblogic a server.
However, if I run the same query from the entity bean, the SearchResult is empty? I have to specify
the entire searchBase, as in say, "ou=People, o=seagate.com" and not just the root to get the search to succeed. Any ideas what I might be
doing wrong or missing. Thanks in advance.

Outlook 2007/2010 with Exchange 2010 missing tasks operation has failed only on PC not OWA

We have searched this topic to no success I'm baffled as to how to resolve this problem.
End user software: Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010,
Server side: MS Server 2012 R2 with MS Exchange 2010
Scenario: We have merged 2 forests together to a new forest. Months before hand had rolled out exchange 2010. A majority of users in
forest2 still are on Office 2007 where as users in
forest1 are nearly all on Office 2010.
Now so far we have 3 users (from Forest2) whom have reported 'missing tasks' with the message 'Operation has Failed' when attempting to view their tasks.
We have ran the outlook commands related to this type of issue that clear the reminders and resetting them with - No Success.
They have no issue when using OWA, or Outlook via mobile device. The issue only occurs on PC. We have tried profile rebuilds, fresh SOE, the issue appears to be resolved but the next time the user opens Outlook the problem comes back.
On the server we have ran all the integrity checks no corruption has been found in any way.

I recommend that you try the following method on client PC and then check the result:
Click Start >> Click Run >> Type outlook.exe /resettodobar
>> Click OK.

SEARCH operation is a no-op on all pages except the first for no reason

I have tried everything. I have an application made of up of several read-only reports, one per page. Each page has a report region of type SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL Query). The first page I did works beautifully. I have a Search item P1_REPORT_SEARCH that is incorporated in the Region Source:

When a search value is entered, it returns the correct result set. All of the other pages are identical to this one in EVERY RESPECT except for differing underlying tables. But no matter what I've tried, I cannot get the SEARCH to return a result set on any of the pages except the first. It doesn't appear to do anything. I'm at my wit's end and totally disgusted. I have spent HOURS and HOURS on this. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A CLUE!!!!!

Page 1 and 2 look okay, page 3 has a clear cache process that runs when the page is submitted so that will clear the search item. Page 4 looks like it should work. Page 5 has an unconditional clear cache process, etc.
You probably don't want to clear the cache unless a reset button is used. The sequence of operations is: Report is shown on page. You enter a search value and press Enter or the Go button. The page is submitted. The page items are cleared by the clear cache process. The page branches back to itself only to show the results of the same query using a null search value. This could go on all day.

Interactive Report Subscription - missing search functionality

Hi,
when receiving the output of a report subscription in Apex 4.1.1, the search Box is missing, only the Text string 'Suche:' is displayed.
If i download the report as Email or html, the search box is there and usable.
Maybe i'm wrong, but this was not under Apex 4.0.2.
Has anyone the same disfunction?

i have a smilar problem with Email subscriptions, i don't use items, but i use collections in the where clause!

Missing "search for today" in finder 10.9.4

Hi, I just installed the new IOS 10.9.4. and it updated finder. I am missing the "search for" today, yesterday options. How can I get these back?

They appear to have been deleted in Mavericks.

By just typing what your looking for in the bar and pressing enter, it will automatically search. For example, the image you attached shows "pizza" in the bar. If you hit enter, it will automatically search for "pizza" using the default search engine (this search engine is base on your carrier).

Missing Search Directories during Post substep execution

I've run into a small difficulty in my elegant solution to the problem I posed in my "Calling IVI/Visa drivers from TestStand" question.
In brief, I have some custom step types where I've defined a Post substep, which uses the DLL Flexible Prototype Adapter to call a bit of code I wrote. The problem is, it's unable to find my DLL while executing the Post substep. The DLL is in the same directory as the sequence file, and I have the "Current sequence file directory" option enabled in Search Directories. The same DLL can be found no problem when it's called as the main module for a step.
It seems as if the current sequence file directory is not being searched when the Engine is executing substeps. I'm having som
e difficulty finding an elegant solution to this. I hate to just add another directory to the Search Directories, because those are universal, and this problem is specific to this one sequence. I hate to use a sledgehammer to kill a fly.
Am I missing something obvious? Is there a flyswatter I'm not seeing?

A substep is a subcomponent of a step type. Step types definitions can reside in a type palette file or any sequence file. When a sequence file uses an instance of a step type, i.e. a step, the step type definition is attached to the sequence file.
We specifically decided not to use the current sequence file search path for substeps in step types for the following reason:
A step type only loads the substep code module
once, even if more than one sequence file uses
it. So if one sequence file has the code module
for the substep in its directory and another
sequence file has another copy of the code module
that might be a little different, the second code
module would not be used.
Step types ar
e intended to be used as a major component of the TestStand engine. That is why the default TestStand step types are stored in the Components directory and the search directory feature specifies to recursively search the Components directory.

Odd Missing Search Results

I've seen this happening for years and never paid any attention to it. But, after a user inquiry, I'm trying to understand what's happening.
When performing a global full text search for a name or email address, some items may not be returned/found. e.g. searching for Tom or [email protected] returns many results, but a few messages are not included in the results. However, searching by From/Author for Tom or [email protected] does return the previously missing messages.
The previously missing messages have Tom and [email protected] in both the From field and the body of the messages in the form of headers from replies. Quick Finder has been run since the messages arrived.
Can anyone explain to me what's happening? Is this an odd quirk in the way that (global)find works or is there an indexing issue that I am unaware of?

I'd be inclined to think that there are some issues with indexing.
It will depend on whether you are doing this on caching mode or on-line
mode as to which index needs a wake up smack. In fact comparing a
search between those modes will tell you a whole bunch.

Launch your GW client and let it think a while. A 12GB mailbox did

(possibly early 2012 as well) where only the first 1000 unindexed
messages were indexed on each startup of the GW client in caching mode.

Missing Search Field when using 3.1 Create App Wizard ?

2 points which look like bugs to me;
1 - In all previous versions whenever I used the create app wizard to build up a list of pages, reports always included the 'search across any varchar field' funtionality. This seems to have disappeared when using the Classic form of reports. It is obviously there if you use an Interactive report.
2 - Again when using the Create App wizard, if I use the Classic form (in order to be able to also 'Generate Analysis Pages') these do get built, but not linked in any way (tab, list region, button etc) to any other pages. I can link them myself, but I am demonstrating APEX here and it doesn't look so good....
Can someone just quickly confirm I am not going mad here ?

You're not going mad! I've reviewed the behaviour of the Search field and the Analysis Pages link using releases 3.0.1 and 3.1.1, and there is a difference in behaviour between the two versions.
Classic Reports generated via the Create Application Wizard in 3.1.1 should have a Search text field above the report region, however this field is missing. I've logged bug 7185486 for this issue. Classic Report&Forms generated via the Create Application Wizard, with the "Include Analysis Pages" option selected, are missing a link to the Analysis pages in 3.1.1. I've logged bug 7185486 for this issue. I've updated both bugs with a workaround. A fix for these issues will be available in a future release. Thanks for bringing these two issues to our attention.

Missing system operation?

I attempted to install windows xp onto my macbook. I followed the instructions associated with using the boot camp assistant. Once I was done installing windows xp, the computer re-booted itself and now all I have is a black screen that says "missing operating system". It does not allow me to do anything. It does not prompt me to do anything. What can I do? Any advice would be great
