Money disappeared from account

I have iTunes(version 4&7) on two computers. When I went to purchase a song on the version 4 iTunes, it wouldn't let me purchase it because I had to upgrade to a newer version of iTunes. After I presses cancelled, and opened iTunes again the money from my account dropped from $15.75 to $4.84, the same amount as on my other computer. I have had iTunes on both of these computers for a long time, and never have the money in the two accounts matched before. Plus the money in the accounts were from two different gift cards. How can I get the money back or who should I contact? Thank You

First, make sure you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password you set up, or used, when you redeemed your card/gift. It sort of sounds like you have two different accounts in the iTunes Store, but now have both computers logged into the same account. If you are sure you're using the correct account, try logging out of the account and back in.
If logging out and back in doesn't help, go to the Purchase History and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have a balance left. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display. This display error can usually be corrected by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in.
If you confirm that you should have balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, send a message to the iTunes Store customer service department through the form at the bottom of their Gift Card FAQ web page and explain the problem to them.

    Right now I am so spitting mad, I cant phone BT again, as I will lose it!
    I was on a payment plan, which was fine, almost, until I added Sky Sports ot my package.  I was told that for one month, the amount would change.  I accepted it, as I knew it inclided 1 off payments etc.
    BUT, for another 3 months I was charged almost double , absolutely wrongly.
    I phoned, and was told that the payment plan system was wrong, and as it worked, it tried to put me in credit all the time by keeping that high amount.  I was then advised to change from a payment plan to monthly billing.  I agrred this, as I was assured thyat all I owed was £21,which would be taken within 10 working days, and then nothing would be owed until December 30th, when the right amount of £75(my monthly charge plus calls) would be taken.  This would include my phone calls, which is normally only something like £4, per quarter.
    I spoke twice with BT, and was assured both time that the high amount would not come out of my account, and received an email confirming that the plan was cancelled and changed to monthly billing.
    I looked at by online banking this morning, and guess what?  BT have taken the almost double, high amount from my account again.
    I cannot keep affording it, and they keep breaking the promises they make.  I want that mkoney credited back into my account.  I do not owe that amount, it makes me short of money every month.
    I really am regretting going with BT for my TV, broadband and phone package.
    Please would someone from the UK care team contact me, because no-one else is able to sort this out, and I cannot go on indfenitely paying these silly amounts

  • "None" Credit Card option disappearing from accounts?

    I have several accounts that have been setup with the 'None' option in terms of credit cards on their accounts. This has been working for several months just fine on most of them. Recently our district started to employ Apple's Profile Manager MDM to try the new Managed Distribution option. However, I've noticed on serveral (about 5 of the 10 I've done this with so far) accounts that they ask for a Credit Card and no longer display the option for "None" under payment options.
    Is there something about linking profile manager to Apple IDs thats actually destroying these accounts and rendering them useless? I don't understand how or why this would happen.

    If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Click the "down arrow" next to your name at the top right side of the page and click "Account." Enter your username and password and click "View Account" to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click "Edit." Select the "None" button and click "Done." Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Under Payment Type, it should say that there is no credit card on file.

  • Sharing Only accounts disappear from Account Preference pane

    I am trying to setup a 'sharing only' user for the purpose of having a user that can access files via ftp and only have read access to certain folders I specify (and it's subfolders). After I have set up a sharing only user and I come back into the Account Preference pane at a later time, that user is no longer listed in the left-hand column. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening and provide steps to prevent it from doing so in the future?

    I'm having a similar problem. In my case, I upgraded from an old computer running Mac OS 10.4.11 to a new one running 10.6.4. The old one had share only accounts set up (by SharePoint), and Migration Assistant transferred them over.
    All but one showed up in the Account preference pane. I decided to delete the others but that other account still shows up in the Log In window.
    It sounds like the same underlying problem. Any ideas to help us both out?

    Hello, While placing an order for Thinkpad T450s, I received an error message - "Unable to authorize your transaction. Please select another payment method to complete your order.". However, the order amount ($1431) was debited from my account.   • Disappearances from account

    I'm hoping someone can help! here's what I did:
    I went into admin to set up another account for my son. did that, no problem. I then tried to change my 'shortname' to my new legal name, without realising this is something that I can't do. tried creating new account, but since it wasn't the 'master' account, I deleted it. for some reason, my master account is now acting squirrley. I have lost email, safari, font, desktop appearance, dock, documents, and have been busy restoring all of these preferences and setting up the mail and bookmarks and such. problem is this: after resetting most everything, I had to set up mail and safari again today, and I can't seem to find most of my fonts and things like that. I am not very computer savvy--which is why I bought mac, because this is a product that I know, with a little help, I can restore myself.
    anyway, any help, suggestions, etc are greatly appreciated. I hope I described my dilemma clearly enough.

    not all mail providers sync the send mail part of the mail box

    Go back to your homescreen, then completely close down your mail app by double clicking the home button to open the multi-tasking bar. Hold your finger on the mail app icon and then click the red circle that appears on the left of the icon.
    Once you have done that, reopen the mail app and you should be sorted.

  • User accounts have disappeared from the Sys prefs and log-in screen!

    When upgrading to 10.4 from 10.3, I used Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable copy of my hard disk to an external (La Cie) drive. After performing an erase and install, the Migration Assistant would not recognize the installation on the external drive. After numerous attempts, I finally re-entered all my settings and transferred most of my files by hand into the new OS. Everything seemed to be fine until I attempted to update the user settings on one of the standard accounts. When I went to the Limitations window for this account in System Preferences the computer froze completely, necessitating a forced shutdown. When I rebooted, the account I was modifying had disappeared from the log-in screen. When I attempted to restore it in Sys Prefs, the Accounts window was blank, and clicking on the resulting items in a Spotlight search gets a preferences error message. I repaired the disk and the permissions with Disk Utility to no avail, and DiskWarrior says the directory is too damaged to rebuild. I re-installed Tiger using archive and install, also with no success. I can log in as Root and access all data, including all user accounts, but still no user accounts in the log-in window or sys prepfs. Does anyone have any thoughts on this before I (aauuugghhh) erase and install again? Any idea why the Migration Asst. can't see the clone? Did I move something into the new OS I shouldn't have?

    Did you boot into the clone to ensure that it was working just like the original? If so, can you still do that? If so, I'd boot into the clone, use Disk Utility to erase and reformat the internal HD. Then, clone the clone to the original and install Tiger on top of it using the upgrade earlier version option. Then, you won't have to change or migrate anything. IMHO, it's the best way to do it.

    Your Settings app is crashing. Sometimes, the only way to fix this is by restoring the iOS software but hopefully it will not come to that.
    1. Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    2. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
