MRP Planning Calculation for Engineering Spares

Dear Experts,
We have define Reorder Point  10000 qty ,MRP type is VB and Lot size is EX for X item. no other setup define in master for this item but here we have some confusion for this calculation pl. see following example and give your guidance.
Material  X
Reorder Point 10000
Stock  100
Reservation created  1000 (not posted)
When I run MRP following result have displyed.
Stock Available 100,  Reservation  1000, Purchase Requisition created for 9900  , And Quantity Available 9000
Why reservation not considered in MRP?  means why requisition not generated for 9000 instead of 9900 ?
Pl. guid me
Thanks & Regards
Piyush

Hi Piyush,
Discussing MRP functionality in depth is out of scope for such a forum; in short:
In your example the 1000 reservation is not taken into account by planning because that's how VB works. It only considers stock, nothing else.
If you do want additional requirements to be considered, use V1.

Mario

  • CONTRIBUTION MARGIN (PLAN) CALCULATION FOR PRODUCTS (PER UNIT, LOCATION WIS

Requirement of a Report to calculate Contribution Margin (Plan) - For Calculating Contribution Margin.
2 Key figures need to be arrived (per unit/cv of product, locationwise) are Net Sales Realisation (NSR) and Total Variable Cost (TVC).
    a) To arrive at NSR (Plan), all the combinations of upcoming discounts and Free Goods schemes which are going to be in force for the coming month for a product, need to be adjusted in the Net Sales Value to get NSR value per unit of Product (SKU / CV), locationwise
The NSR is the result of adjusting Discounts, Excise and Schemes to the List price of a product.
    b) TVC is the result of adding Total Material Cost(TMC) + [(LabourPower) conversion cost]Freight.
Calculation of material cost takes into account the LCC (Landed cost chart) price of the materials, which is a future price.
The Total variable Manufacturing Cost (TMC+Conversion cost) can be calculated using Costing Run (CK40N), using LCC price.
In COPA Reporting the values like List price, Discounts, Excise, Free Goods Schemes and freight flows from Billing Documents (SD) because of condition types mapping in to value fields in COPA, which are components for calculating NSR (Actual), based on the Actual sales.
We want to understand how do the Plan values (List price, Discounts, Excise, Free Goods Schemes and freight) per unit of Product, location wise, flow to the Value fields in COPA Planning,  so that the Contribution Margin (Plan) can be calculated for each product per unit , location wise.
Contribution Margin = NSR u2013 Total Variable Cost.

  • Error MRP run calculation for PO subcontracting

    Hi,,

    hi,
    Few check points:
    1. Maintain Proper settings for MRP field in the source list.
    2. in the MRP 2 tab, use special procurement indicator for subcontracting.
    3. while planning for MRP, check for the creation indicator ...the priority will be opp for PR and subcontracting, so check properly...

  • What is best practice for dealing with Engineering Spare Parts?

    Hello All,
I am after some advice regarding the process for handling engineering spare parts in PM. (We run ECC 5)
Our current process is as follows:
All materials are set up as HIBE's
    Each material is batch managed
The Batch field is used for the Bin location
We are now looking to role out PM to a site that has in excess of 50,000 spare parts and want to make sure we use best practice for handling the spare parts. We are now considering using a basic WM setup to handle the movement of parts.
Please can you provide me with some feedback on what you feel the best practice is for dealing with these parts?
We are looking to set up a solution that will us to generate pick lists etc and implment a scanning solution to move parts in and out of stores.
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi,
I hope all the 50000 spare parts are maintained as stock items.
    1. Based on the usage of those spare parts, try to define safety stock & define MRP as "Reorder Point Planning". By this, you can avoid petty cash purchase.
    2. By keeping the spare parts (atleast critical components) in stock, Planned Maintenance as well as unplanned maintenance will not get delayed.
    3. By doing GI based on reservation, qty can be tracked against the order & equipment.
As this question is MM & WM related, they can give better clarity on this.

  • MRP design for Service Spare Parts

    Hello,
I am in process of designing the MRP run for service spare parts for construction and mining equipments business. There is a central warehouse and small depots.
Help me out to design following MRP requirements.
    1.     MRP process is expected to consider stocks at all these locations i.e central ware house and depots. Optimization across locations and stock transfers to be considered.
    2.     MRP process is expected to consider open PO requirements.
    3.     MRP process is expected to consider in-house service orders reservations requirements.
    4.     MRP process is expected to consider open sales spare parts order demand from dealers.
    5.     Certain formula base forecast requirements for specific spare part
If SAP standard solution is there or any work around is expected.
    Regards
    Sanjeev Dhavan

    1. MRP process is expected to consider stocks at all these locations i.e central ware house and depots. Optimization across locations and stock transfers to be considered.
    - MRP can be run for a whole plant or single material or MRP area(group together some storage location). I hope your warehouse is a plant so you can run the MRP at your plant(ware house) level.
    2. MRP process is expected to consider open PO requirements.
    - You should use consumption based planning but you need to identify what type of MRP you want to use.
        - reorder point planning     - forecast based planning      - time phased planning
        - in general all the above MRP will consider the open PO / PRs
    3. MRP process is expected to consider in-house service orders reservations requirements.
    -  this is possible by selecting proper MRP type, for ex. if you want to use reorder point planning, then you should use V1(Reorder point planning with external requirements) which includes sales order and manual reservation in net req calculation.
    4. MRP process is expected to consider open sales spare parts order demand from dealers.
    - Refer point 3
    5. Certain formula base forecast requirements for specific spare part
    - do you want to use forecast based MRP? what formula you want to use?

  • Issue in assigning new Planning Calendar for MRP.

    Hello Experts
I have trouble in setting up new Planning calendar for S&OP and MRP process. Let me explain in details
Requirement is, currently I am using standard country specific Factory calendar format (monthly period) per plant. But new requirement has came up and Company wants to change beginning and end of period (monthly) -- as shown below
    Current Calendar
    1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014
    1 Aug to 31 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    and so on..
New requirement is ( Last week of Friday is end of Period)
    Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014
    Sat 26 July to Fri 29 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
    Sat 30  Aug to Fri 3 Oct = Period 3 - 2014
    and so on..
    (basic concept is to keep
    4wk, 5wk, 5wk for Quarter 1
    4wk, 4wk, 5wk for Quarter 2. and so on.. )
I have setup new planning calendar in MD25..
ie. min period, start of period not a working day, Calculation rule & Period etc...
then assigned new planning calendar in MM02 - MRP2 and also in MRP1 used Lot size PK... etc..
But when i Put demand in MC88.. which gives us std month format and transfer to DM, then Ran MRP but some how MRP is not creating correct Qty in planned demand as per new calender..
    i.e..  1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014  if total demand Qty for Material XYZ is : 50
I am expecting planned demand result in MRP as...   Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014  - should be 50 in total.. but It's not..
Any reason? Or I am missing some settings?
    Thank you in advance..
    PC...

    Thanks KK/Umesh
Business wants planning calendar in this format. And Fiscal Year Variant has also been set according to new calendar.
KK, Regarding MC88 there is no option to incorporate planning calendar into S&OP process. And Organisation's S&OP process is set from day one (Planning by ProdGrp/Material) so MD61 would not be a good option to use.
Umesh, regarding "start of period not a working day", I have selected "do not displace". And 27/09 and 27/12 dates are set holiday. The major issue here is: Not every 4th Sat of month is Period start day, MRP is picking new planning calendar (defined in above table) from the system But some how when transferring forecast data from planning table to demand management (MC88), system don't recognize new planning calendar and it distributes demand over weekly bucket per regular month Calendar instead of new planning calendar..
Some how I need to incorporate new planning calendar into S&OP setup somewhere, Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • Creating Planned orders and Requisitions for a particular MRP controller and for all the others only Requisition is to be created.

    Hi Experts,
Currently we run Program 'RMMRP000' as a batch job to create Planned orders and requisitions.
The client wants that Planned orders and Requisitions should be created for a particular MRP controller and for all the others only Requisition is to be created.
I implemented Exit 'EXIT_SAPMM61X_001' in the following manner by passing MRP controller to user_key.
      IF mt61d-dispo <> user_key.
        no_planning = 'X'.
      ENDIF.
But as you can see that this will not meet my client requirement.
If any of you has worked on similar requirement / if any one knows that this is achievable or not,
    please share your inputs.

  • MRP Planned order generation for Order reservation excluding Dependent Requirements

In our Project we have a requirement like for FG stage & SFG1 stage are M.T.O So after sales order are punched through  MD50 we have created Planned orders against sales orders,But dependent stages like SFG2 & SFG3 which are pure M.T.S so only Dependent requirements will get generated.Suppose for SFG1 i have partially converted planned order to Production order then for component SFG2 we get Partial Quantity as order reservation. Now requirement is if i run MRP for SFG2 system need to generate demand only for order reservation excluding Dependent requirements. Is there any possibility where we can generate demand only for order reservation. As system will create Planned order for SFG2=Dependent requirement + Order reservation

    Hi Uli,
Suppose i have Sales order--100 kgs for FG
    B.O.M levels
    1.FG-----M.T.O
    2.SFG1---M.T.O
    3.SFG2---M.T.S
    4.SFG3---M.T.S
    5.ROH
So if i run MRP via MD50 system would generate planned orders for FG & SFG1 level as they are M.T.O specific
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
    SFG1-100kg planned order
    SFG2-100kg dependent requirement.
Now suppose i have partially converted SFG1 planned order to production order
SFG1--100kg planned order to 30 kg production order
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
SFG1-70kg planned order & 30 kg production order
    SFG2-70kg dependent requirement & 30kg order reservation.
Here my requirement is if i run MRP for SFG2 in MD02 as these stage is M.T.S system should provide 30 kg planned order & if we see down the line it would be like
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
SFG1-70kg planned order & 30 kg production order
    SFG2-30kg planned order & 70kg dependent requirement.
    SFG3-30kg planned order
    ROH-30kg Purchase req
    Client requirement is like these..

  • Planned order for MPS items can be unfirmed in MRP plan

    Hi All,
I'm using SCP functionality (not ASCP) in MRP module. I run a global MPS first and then use it as supply schedule to drive mrp plans. I noticed that some planned orders (for MPS items) loaded into MRP from MPS can be unfirmed in MRP and I can enter new quantity and new date for them, whereas other planned orders for MPS cannot be unfirmed.
What is the logic behind it? How to control it?
    thanks in advance,
    Tom

    Hi Ram,
I don't think that there should be any issue due to the planned order created in the system against the PIR for the next month ....& it will not lead to improper planing even if the demand changes still we are not going for the firmed planned order....... if the PIR changes during the next MRP run then it will adjust the planned order accordingly .....
Still you want to  restrict the planning to the current month then the simplest way that  I can think of is planning horizon....
    Thanks

  • How to see planned orders for P3 mrp type products in APO?

    Dear experts,
I have materials with P3 MRP type (not planned in APO but in R/3 using MRP)
I have active integration models with P3 and X0 mrp type products for planned orders
however I can not see in APO product view the planned orders for P3 materials,
is this normal or should I see those planned orders in APO?
    Thanks for your answer,
    best regards
    Elynn

    Hi,
The following prerequisites must be met so that planned orders can be transferred from SAP R/3 to SAP APO
    and vice versa:
1.The material masters must be transferred to SAP APO.
    2. PPMs must exist for planning in SAP APO.
    3. The relevant integration models must be active.
    4. An active integration model for planned orders must exist in SAP R/3.
5.An active integration model must also exist for materials, so that the components of the planned order are transferred.
6.The relevant distribution definitions must be maintained in SAP APO, so that planning results can be
transferred from SAP APO to SAP R/3.
    Thanks,

  • MRP exception handling for planning strategy 52

    Hi All,
How to handing MRP exception in Mass? For example, header material having two sub assembly and 3 raw materials in it's BOM. As per planning strategy 52, we maintain PIR for finished part, if we run MRP planning will be generated with respect to Planned Independent Requirement(PIR). Now, the problem is the higher/upper level material planing date is lower than low level material, It means Semi finished material(SF2) planning date is for example ( 15 june 2014) at the same time another lower level semi finished material (SF1) planning date is (18 june 2014). In this case without completing SF1, we can't produce SF2 because SF1 is an component of SF2. In the same way, system will propose the planning info for all raw material/semi finished. How we will handle this exception in mass since we using more materials in shop floor.Hence, it's really hard to planner to adjust the planing date for each and every material wise. How to handle/adjust this MRP exception? How to make system to calculate dependent materials availability to calculate next level material's planning date (start, end)? We understand that we have to maintain proper master information like in-house production days, planned delivery date, Gr processing date etc., to get planning information. Apart from that how we handle or to get without this kind of exceptional message? Please suggest
    Thanks

    AKS,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having exception messages.  Expecting to be able to perform some mass transaction that will magically make all messages "go away" is unreasonable.  In any real life business, there will be new exception messages with every MRP run - sometimes thousands of them.
These messages indicate that there is something the matter with the plan; but they don't really tell you what is the best way to fix the plan.  There may not be an easy way to fix this plan, it may actually require having your planners examine each PIR, trace down the BOM, and determine what is the best solution for that PIR.  Once you have decided what is wrong with your plan, then ask me what mass changes are available to fix THAT problem.
Now, to your question.  If you want all the dates to line up, then allow dates in the past. Although this solution doesn't give you results that are any more realistic than your current solution, you will eliminate most of the exception message 10's; and, if all your master data is correct, most of the supply and demand dates should line up.  The messages will be replaced with a boatload of "new, and start date in the past" or similar.  You can allow MRP to create procurement proposals with start dates in the past by changing the appropriate settings in OPPQ and/or OPPR.  Also affected by scheduling parameters found in OPU5 and OPU3.
This is a business decision.  Some planners prefer not to allow dates in the past.  Others just the opposite.  You (or the client, if you are a consultant) have to decide which is best for your company.
    Best Regards,

  • Can MRP only create planned orders for ROH, not for FERT?

    HI all,
Is there any way to only generate planned orders for raw materials after MRP, forbid creating planned orders for FERT?
We want create planned orders for FERTs manually.
    Thanks,
    Harvey

    Harvey,
Yes, that was also my understanding of your scenario. Did you try X0 for Fert?  Run MRP against the entire plant, and MRP will not create any new planned orders for the X0 parts.  It will explode the BOM and create dependent requirements in the components.  In addition, you can create FERT planned orders manually, or using an external planning system, and these manually created orders will also create dependent demand on your components.
If you are also using Sales orders to consume your PIR, you will also have to look at requirements determination for Sales orders.  This is configured based on MRP type.  If you change existing MRP types, you may have to add SD config so as to continue to pass requirements to MRP.  Your SD resource should be able to help you through this, or I can give you basic instructions if you decide that the PIR/demand/planned order/dependent requirements works to your satisfaction.

  • Unable to release planned order for single line from MRP workbench

    Hi
We are unable to release planned order for single line from MRP Planner workbench, but Select All For Release is working for all the lines for the item
User want to release a specific line but no new requisition is generated
It is highly appreciable if anyone could help to resolve this issue
    Appreciate the Help
    Regards
    VKPK

It sounds like the release goes through in the workbench but the requisition does not show up in source - is this correct? If so I would check item attributes / flags for purchasing and buy. also have found some items require a purchase price to be populated in master and org

  • Plan Overhead Calculation for Project Definition

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to calculate the Plan Overhead for the Project Def. (CJ46, CJ47).
I have tried using BDC for CJ46 and CJ47 but Overhead cost is not reflecting in COSS table.
I also tried using program RKAZCJ47 ( using SUBMIT statement ), which executes successfully and overhead cost is also calculated and can be verified thru entries in COSS table, but it displays a log which I am not able to bypass in background.
I do not want to show this log to user.
    Helpp..

    Hi,
In my development I need to call this program to calculate the plan overhead. So I used SUBMIT statement to execute this program and overhead is calculated and stored in COSS table. but this program displays the log using ALV and SPLITTER control after calculation which is displayed to user. I want to supress this log.
This processing should execute in background without displaying any log.
this submit call is written in enhancement for CJ40 which executes after user saves the cost planning
