in msi website the 333 fsb cpus are not supported too in kt3 ultra-ultra aru but they still work... so it make sense to discuss  if applebred work or not in those mobos.

  • MSI KT333 raid and athlon 700 (is it possible)?

i have bought and msi KT333 raid motherboard and i tried to put and athlon 700 in it but when it tries to boot up is says that the processor runs at 933 and after that it freezes i can not even go into the biios
    what can it be

    Hi!
You are probably trying to run it with an FSB of 133 MHz, 700 MHz Athlons are supposed to work with a 100 MHz FSB.

  • MSI KT333 Ultra2-R and G550 whackyness

ok so there has been about 36 hours of technical nightmares which comes down to this: i have likely stumbled onto a bizarre incompatibility. i installed XP Professional Corporate with SP1 a total of 6 times up until 3 something in the morning (on the upside my system does such in 5 minutes after formating) due to what appears to be a driver issue not a hardware failure. after installing the motherboard chipset (VIA KT333) drivers and then the video card (Matrox G550) drivers sometime thereafter at random points the screen would go black and XP would report a hardware failure and my video display would go to what appeared to be lesser than 640x480 @ 8 colors yet after rebooting things would be peachy keen. i even tried one step back on the VIA drivers and G550's with no fix. the 7th OS install was WIN2K Pro and with the same drivers at the start of this (the current from both parties) there's been no issue (benchmarks were ran for 9 hours straight using PCMark, 3DMark and Sandra). yep it's pretty clear that friday is going to involved calls to Matrox, MSI, and if possible VIA..

  • Free download, and install question

    Free download, and install question.
I need to buy a larger h/d, but till then I would like to put as many programs as possible on a external usb drive that I have hooked up to my PC.  I've been able to do this with some other programs, and would like to try it with my Adobe Reader and Flash.  When down loading and installing it does not give me the option to install in a defferent location other then my C: drive.  Can this be done?  Thanks you?

From the MSI you have to create a MST (Transforms). In the MST create now the new property INSTALLDIR=F:\, where F: is your USB-drive. If you use then the command
    msiexec.exe /i [MSI] transforms=[MST]
Adobe Reader should be installed to F:

  • Antec Sonata 380W PS enough for MSI Neo and A64???

I'm looking at picking up the MSI board and an A64 3000 for my Antec Sonata case.
My question is that I see a lot of problems not posting as the PS is not enough.
Does anyone know whether or not the Antec 380W PS will be enough?  I will be using 2HDD, a DVD writer, a CD rom drive, and an ATI 9800 pro.
The specs on the PS are:
    +5V  35A
    -5V  .5A
    +12V  18A
    -12V  1A
    +3.3V  28A

  • MSI KT333 Ultra2-R & XP1800+ (Can't get to 1.5ghz) Help!

    I'm hoping someone can help.
    I have the:
    MSI KT333 Ultra2-R Mainboard
    Athlon XP1800+ Processor
128 MB DDR ECC 2100 Ram
    3DFX Voodoo5 5500 65MB SGRAM AGP Video Card
    Onboard USB 2.0
    Onboard AC97' Sound
    2 Maxtor 17 Gigs
    1 WD 30 Gig
    Lite On 40x12x48x CDRW
    Zip 100 Internal
    Enlight 250w Case
My problem which is EXTREMELY annoying is the fact that I can't get my CPU to clock at it's rated 1.5 ghz.
It clocks at a measly 1100 mhz.
    I have tried:
Leaving the FSB at 100 (default) and increasing the Multiplier.
Increasing FSB to 133 and leaving multiplier to Auto, and all combinations to get 1500 mhz between the FSB and Multiplier settings- I've also tried 1200 mhz slowly upwards - even that doesn't work!!
I've also tried increasing core voltage...to no avail.
    What happens?
In most cases the PC will start and upon going to WinXP either freeze or reboot. In many cases the PC will also hang on or before boot or turn off almost instantaneously. I doubt very highly that it's overheating because my max temp right now is 32c. I have the CoolerMaster HC001 Heatpipe Heatsink with Arctic Silver paste PERFECTLY spread.
What do I do? I don't know if it's the CPU or me. It's so bad I've even oced a duron I have to more mhz than I can do with the XP.
For clarification - I'm not even trying to OC the XP, I'm trying to get it to it's rated clock of 1.53 ghz.
I'm really hoping someone can help.
My clock speed right now is 1153 mhz, that is 11.5x100.
Do you think it could be because of the 250w PS?
I'll be replacing it soon with a 320w - for now I'm stuck with it.
    Help?
    Thanks in Advance.
If you have an XP1800 could you also post me your EXACT settings to the T?
    Thank You Again....

     ;(  I have got the same problem I have got a kt3 ultra2
    ms-6380e athlon 2000+xp and a 550w power supply...
I can only get 1.250 ghz out of mine it should get about 1.667 its not the cooling because i have a monster of cooler on the chip with two extra fans blowing in the case and a heat exhaust blowing hot air out the back with the side off the temp of cpu is about 32 'c... I run mine with a 100mhz fsb 12.5 ratio if I change to 133 fsb it locks up and i have to clear c-mos....its got to be a bios problem that has yet to be sorted because there seems to be a lot of people with the same problem..... ?

  • MSI KT333 crashes in 3D games

    Hi!
My system keeps crashing in 3D games or acts very slow after having played one. I recently switched mobo from an old Asus A7V133 to a new MSI KT333 but I didnt reinstall XP in between. Any suggestions? I have already installed latest Via drivers/Nvidia drivers but nothing changed (dont think its the infinite loop thingy). The cpu temp is between 36-42 degrees Celsius (I use and Arctic Cooler II as fan + 2 system fans).
    My setup is:
    AMD XP 1800
    512 mb DDR 333
    MSI KT333 Ultra 2
    Geforce 3 Ti200 128 mb DDR
    Windows XP
    300 Watt power supply

yeap, reinstall windows xp from zero, cause you changed from KT133 to KT333 chipset.. windows xp doesnt take take well spawing from one motherboard to another (been there)
if crashes still happens, then we must troubleshoot---

  • MSI GX70 and SSD causing boot loop

    Hi,
I've bought the MSI GX70 laptop 2 weeks ago which suits my needs pretty well.
It does seem to have some issues with SSD, not sure if they are known issues yet...
Powering up the laptop results in a boot loop 9 out of the 10 times. As soon as it passes the POST it reboots instead of starting Windows.
If I remove the SSD from the second slot (the only one that is available next to the existing HD) it boots from the stock HD fine, no issues.
As soon as I install the SSD again, it's starting to loop again.
So I thought, let's replace the stock HD with the SSD (switch connectors) but it doesn't even recognize the SSD disk as bootable device if I do so.
I'm sure the boot order and settings are fine, played around with them to be sure.
There is a workaround to get the system started.
While the laptop is in the boot loop (starting up, showing the MSI logo and doing that over and over again) you have to keep pressing the DEL button to enter the bios, hit escape to quit the bios once you're in without changing and saving anything and it boots up Windows fine.
    The SSD is a PNY XLR8 120gb
I'm sure the HD is fine because it came out of the previous laptop without issues.
    Any thought on the above?
    Thanks
    /Nick

I guess my real question here is are you 100% certain that at this very second, the SSD is in fact 100% ok? I'm only asking as after reading a few reviews, almost 50% of them (granted, they are reviews, and people usually really only review things when they are bad...) were showing that they had to return this very SSD because it went bad.
That's really the only thing that comes to mind. This uses the very common Sandforce chipset that quite a few SSD's have and work perfectly fine with. So I can't really comment more than that.

  • MSI KT3 and XP1700 JIUHB DLT3C 0319vpmw

    Hi all,
I have a MSI kt3 and TBred XP1700@1838Mhz core 1.47v (default) currently working with a FSB 167x11 with crucial memory PC2700 2.6V settings 2.5-2-6-2. Temp are now cpu 39c surfing&listening music.
My question is in the bios (last version, 5.70) I don't have the options of 11.5 to 13.5 multiplier so I wonder how I can enable them (I thought it would be unlocked).
My other option could be to increase the multiplier up to 14x166=2324 mhz but I think this speed is going to be unreachable considering i have normal cooling (rated up to XP3200) and its a very high overclock for the XP1700.
could anybody tell me how to unlock the multiplier?
will it be risky to try 14x166 to get 2324?

  • MSI surprised and annoyed me!!!!

MSI, up to now, was one of the companies that I had great confidence.I purchased an MSI board 865 PE Neo-2 6728, and over the last 4 days it gave me every trouble you can imagine.Just an example:The north bridge fan wasn't turning, do you know why, because the metal cover of the fan was preventing the fan, I sorted it out, don't tell me that it is useless or of little importance, I know that but that is not the case here but don't the people out there in the factory or where the board was produced test the board after production ok this can be a detail but perfection lies beneath details. And after the fan started to turn, computer shut down and I couldn't power up during the night, do you know what the problem is:Whenever I remove the cable of the northbridge fan and plug it ;the computer doesn't power up the computer only powers up when I remove and plug the main power supply cable into the board.I tried that a hundred times and the result was same, any ideas.I don't think so.Being a big company isn't easy, but what is difficult is to stay as big as you are.Keep that in mind MSI.With things like corecell for instance that many people complain these days, and just because of fan you have lost a customer of yours. My most computer elements was MSI branded, and I live in Turkey but I don't think I am going to buy another MSI product from now on.I would like to submit my sincere thanks to Danny who replied to my posts yesterday. And as this is an MSI forum if they don't delete my account I will be here....

Danny and Reilly thanks for your replies and valuable help. These were the words that were said at a time of extreme angriness.I am not that biased to judge a company with just one bad experience.None of the other MSI products were defected and that is a thing.I would like to ask you a question 1f you reply I will be grateful to you:
I have a p4 2.0A processor, original intel fan,no thermal paste, just pad under the heatsink, my CPU temperature is 32 average and 45 at most on load,
My brother has a p4 2.4C processor, original intel fan, thermal paste applied, two fans in the case, and a side-case exhaust fan, his CPU temp is 39 average and between 50 and 59 at most.
Are my brother's temps normal, does the temps between a 400 fsb cpu and 800 fsb cpu differ that much let alone his cooling is better than mine but my temps are lower. Thanks in advance.By the way my name is Serdar I live in Turkey and I am a teacher of English )

  • MSI mobos and ATI graphics card incompability!

I don´t know how well known this problem is but I´ve seen it on this forum and when googling the internet you can find it!
The issue is that I can´t get my HD5450(Sapphire) to work on my MS-7267 (945GCM5-F V2) mobo! The screen stays blank but the PC boots up and loads Windows.
The HD5450 works fine on other mobos with different PSU´s ranging from 350 - 600 watts, but when trying different PSU´s on the 945GCM5-F V2 it doesn´t seem to help. I´ve also tried different bios settings, I´ve cleared CMOS, I´ve tried both dvi and vga outputs, I´ve disconnected as much as possible from the mobo except from the graphics card and the PSU, but nothing seems to help!
    Any ideas , someone?
    Tekrar!

    Thanks for all replies!
I had this question on the AMD forum (AMD Game » AMD Technology » Radeon Graphics » MSI mobos and ATI graphics card incompability!) and here are some of the replies:
"Well, its a known issue that older chipsets, like even AMD 580X chipset, doesn't work with 5k/6k series cards without a bios update from the manufacturer of the board.
If its not working / posting / no video ect... You need to bug MSI to update the bios on the board to support the newer 5k/6k video cards. It may or may not happen. Several manufacturers have like Asus, and Gigabyte."
"Same problem. 5450, MSI MS-7267 (945GCM5-F V2). Done the same plus updated msi mainboard bios using msi live update 5 etc. Waiting for reply from makers of graphics card and mainboard.
I should add from what I've read in other threads and forums it seems to be an old mainboard problem not just related to the MSI 945GCM5-F V2. Some other manufacturers of mainboards have sent customers bios upgrades to get their cards working.
As for your pci express version question. Well these problems seem to emerge when people have plugged these pci express version 2.1 cards into their pci express 1st generation slots. What exactly the problem is here? Leave that for manufacturers/experts to answer."
"Tek , its hit or miss on the board + chipset combination on if the card will work or not. Sometimes they will work in old boards, Sometimes they will not w/o manufacturerer support.
Its completely random from what I've seen on the forums at the times they were released , when people with old boards were asking why it wasn't working. And what they did to solve it. Most all of them emailed the manufacturer. Some of those said manufactureres provided beta bios back to the customers, some said your out of luck."
Its true, this MSI MS-7267 (945GCM5-F V2) isn´t a new mobo, but when I get the 5450 to work without problem with an even older fujitsu mobo (last bios update long time ago) and a 350 watts PSU I think something´s wrong.
So, a bios upgrade would probably fix it if the manufacturer (in this case MSI) just wanted to!
    Tekrar!
