Multiple tasks handling in change Correction

Hi Gurus,
Need your help on the following queries:
1. when we create a change request from a service desk request, how does the information flow happens. Also i have a scenario, wherein until my chnage request gets resolved and closed, i should not be able to close on the service desk request. Is it possible and if yes, please explain how it can be achieved.
2.Another query - Is it possible in Charm to have multiple tickets as parent-child relationship. TO explain better, i have a scenario, wherein the change request needs to be worked upon by different teams in parallel and they should have their own workflows assigned to them. Once the work for all these parallel tasks has been completed, i should be able to move these changes as single entity into Production. please help with the solution.

  • Triggering Process Definition Tasks Based on Changes to Multiple Attributes

    Hi All,
    I'm in the process of creating a custom GTC connector to provision accounts to an LDAP directory. I've got more than 100 user defined fields with the user object in OIM and about 60 of them will be kept in sync with the user accounts in LDAP. When any of these 60 attributes get updated for a user, I would like OIM to update the attributes for the user in LDAP.
    I know I can add 60 "Change <field name>" tasks to the process definition. However, that would be very inefficient for what I'm trying to do due to the number of attributes I'm dealing with. Often during large reconciliations from the systems of record, multiple attributes will change for each user. So if 20 attributes change for a user in one transaction and I have separate tasks for each attribute, that would result in 20 LDAP updates rather than just one.
    So I'm wondering, is there a way to have one process definition task that will trigger when any of these 60 attributes get updated and include all the attributes and values that got updated in that transaction?

    I was actually hoping to not have to use a process form to store all the user data for the LDAP provisioning connector. I was hoping to have the "Change" tasks update LDAP directly. The GTC framework seems to want to create a process form to store the target ID, but I would like to avoid storing all the user defined fields there. My reasoning for this is simply to avoid having user data duplicated in another location, which can often lead to sync issues. However, with that being said, if the only way I can gain performance improvements is through storing all the data in the process form, I would be willing to do that. Do you have any suggestions on how I can accomplish the single LDAP modify for multiple attributes without storing all the user defined fields in a process form?
    But in any case, I've attempted your suggestion. I have created a few lookup definitions:

    USR_LAST_NAME | Change Multiple
    USR_FIRST_NAME | Change Multiple
    USR_LOGIN | Change Multiple
    etc....
    I've then added the "Change Multiple" task to the process definition. That task calls an adapter called adpTESTGTC_GTC. Now if I update last name and first name in the same transaction, I notice that the adpTESTGTC_GTC adapter gets called twice. So it seems like even though there's just one "Change" task, it will still get executed once for each attribute modified. So adpTESTGTC_GTC would essentially be performing the same work for each attribute (that is getting all the user data and updating the process form). Since both LDAP and the Oracle Database are external to the application server, I'm guessing X LDAP modifies is just as bad for performance as X updates to the process form, where X is the number of attributes being updated in the transaction.

  • Registering multiple task events through array2cluster

    I am making a VI library that does reading from NI Hardware, no matter how many devices you use.
    However, many NI hw devices do not support multiple independent devices in one software task, so I have to work with array of tasks created programmaticaly based on the measurement settings.
    I would like all my VIs utilize the event structure so I can control the easily, therefor I want to do my readings event based, using the "Every N samples acquired into buffer" event. I did the registration like this :
    If you open the VI, you can see that the event structure offers 8 ?! task events for task 0 - 7. I tried to use this with 2 independent devices, and it works, but the whole code seems very unusual so I want to ask if this is the correct way to do it.

    My point was that even if your input array of tasks is 1000 in size, you'll only have registered the events for the first 9.  The "Array to Cluster" conversion sets the dynamically-sized array (1000) to a fixed-size cluster (here it is 9).  You will lose the registration information for the other 991 tasks.
    Simply change the settings of the +Array to Cluster" (By right-clicking on its icon) and set the number higher.  This will be your upper limit of tasks to be monitored.
    I don't know if there's a correlation between task and device but the code seems limited by the maximum number of tasks only.  If these can be from ANY device, then it should work for you.

  • Need to find a calendar to schedule multiple assignments with multiple tasks set on specific days for multiple people

    There may be no such animal as what I am searching for, but I thought I'd give it a try.
    What I need to do is find a calendar app that allows me to have individual calendars for staff members that I can place a several-days-long assignment and have those people access remotely on an iPad or iPhone (autosync).
    I also want to be able to have tasks set on specific days within that assignment that have alerts/reminders for each stage of the assignment.
    Being able to custom colour each individual assignment (not just the person's own calndar) is also necessary, as these asignments overlap and need to be easily distinguishable at a glance. Each assignment needs to be its own entity and not affect any furture or previous entries, even if I choose the same colour.
    It needs to be in a month by month view and be able to be something each person can subscribe to and sync up with for changes on a daily basis. It does nothave to be a calendar like in the screen shot below, it could be a linear calendar that has days across the top and assignments down the left side.....
    Here is a screen shot of a rudimentary excel spreadsheet I have been using. It is awkward and becoming unmanageable as the number of assigments increases and more staff are being added on. And I must send a new spreadsheet out every time I make a change or add an assignment, which is several times a week.
    I suspect I may be asking for the world, but if anyone knows a direction I can go in to start a search, I'd be grateful. I haven't had success of my own so far and need to find something soon.
    iCal doesn't work for me due to the fact I can only colour code the calendar itself and not the event, plus not being able to have multiple tasks within one event. And the qty of assignments I'd have would see most getting lost, eliminating my abilty to see every staff member's assignmanet at the same time.

  • How to handle version changes? Strategies?

    We're struggling with version change issues. Most recently we tried to move from 8.5 to 8.6 and lost about a week of project time while we tried to make it run well. The problem was that the Development Environment would crash several times a day while doing block diagram edits, losing unsaved changes. We never found any clues as to why. It would be one thing to debug a VI that crashes, but when it is the LV editor itself that is crashing, how do we work on that?
    Anyway, we have a policy here of freezing software updates for projects that are close to completion, because buggy updates so often delay project completions, and this triggered a return to 8.5, which is where we remain now on that project.
    But now we can't install and use the VI Analyzer we just bought on any of the PCs tied to that project, as it demands 8.6. I do have one PC that is completely disconnected from this project, and it runs 8.6, so running the Analyzer there may be useful, but still messy.
    How do you handle version changes? How often do you try to follow the updates? How often do you need to go back a version? Do you maintain different versions? Is it even possible to run multiple versions on an individual Win XP PC?

    I have installed several versions of LabVIEW on my system.
    Most of the toolkits are only installed in the latest versions. There are ways to install toolkits on multiple versions.
    And I think that toolkits as of LabVIEW version 8.6 can be installed on several LabVIEW verions.

  • Difference between task request and change request

    What is the difference between task request and change request during sap implementation. In general how many tasks will generate during a normal company inmplementation by any functional consultant?

    Change request and task request are same.But generally change request is generated during newly created objects or reports that are transported and task request is used when u regenerate the change request by modifying that object again and transporting it in new change request.
    A particular change request may contain multiple number of task request but that number depends upon number of objects u transfer during generation and transportation.

  • Creating multiple tasks

    I am using the CVI plug-in for MSVC.  My application requires that I toggle a set of digital lines based on a user's input.  For a variety of reasons I would like to initialize my DAQ task handles at the start of the program so that when I need to toggle the lines I just call Run and Stop.
    Some of my tasks use the same lines.  I know that if I try to define multiple tasks using the same lines that I will get an error (-200089). 
    My question is this: Is there a clever way to pre-define my tasks at the start of the program even if they use the same lines?

    I am thinking of splitting that one request(task) into multiple task, based on the number of resources requested.so that, if one resource request is approved user can get that particular access.
    My question :
    1.How will I split the one task into multiple task and pass the required information to child task?
    2.How do I handle views?Currently since its one task , we checkout and check-in the same view.
    3.How will I overcome the possibility of one view overwritten by the other.

    yes u can split one task into multiple task means as ur requirment diffrent task for different resource. so u have to write diffrent W/F for each resource and call them by setting a counter for number of resource.

    First of all, which Project Server version do you use?
    I'd like to be sure to correctly understand your concern. You would like to have more than 1 task list in your project site, am I right? I'm a bit confused since you talk about both project site and project center.
    First notice that the default task list is related to the project Schedule, ie when a task is updated in the project, the list will be updated accordingly.
    With Project Server 2013, I could open a project site, navigate to "site content", select the task app and create a new task list. This new list will be created as a blank list not related to the schedule neither the default task list.
    Note that there is a list setting which triggers wheither or not the list link will be added to the navigation menu of the left side (list settings, List name, description and navigation).

    There is a order and the order can have many services which are independent of each other. So i want to show the different services to user, which they can select and accordingly the reqired data elements will be visible in webclient.

    if you are using >= TS2010 there  is support of 64Bit integers (int64 and uint64).
    with it you are able to store your 6 bytes.
    I am using it for saving MAC-Address.

  • Unable to email photos, receive a statement that the server does not recognize my username and or password, have checked multiple times that these are correct

    I am unable to e-mail  photos, receive a statement saying that the werever does not recognize my username and or password. I have checked multiple times and these are correct.

    The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
    That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
    If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
    Have you tried to set "From"  pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses?  If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto.

  • Global tasks (handler)

    I have programmed legacy DAQ cards like the 6024 using LabWindows CVI for 15 years.  Now I have to use a USB 6218 and DAQmx. I want to use a counter to measure my loop time.  If I start a task (like start the counter) in one subroutine call I can not call that same task in another subroutine call (like read the counter).  The task handler ID seems to only be a local variable.  The task or taskhandler can not be made a global variable.  If the create, start, read, stop, and clear tasks are all in the same subroutine, everything works.  I hope I am stating this problem correctly, I am an engineer who knows some programming, not a pure programmer.

    First of all, thank you kindly for your quick response and help.  I think you are onto the source of my problem.  I have attached some information to explain the code.  The program is very large.  I thought I have defined the Task Handler at the system level with a static definition.  But when I compile the code, I get a message that the task handler is undefined.
    I hope I have explained my code in the attachecment well enough for you to see the problem.
    I have to share with you that I have never used task handlers.  Somehow, since CVI was started I have gotten by without out it.  Right now I am not a fan of the DAQmx approach to data acquisition and control.  I used to be able to use simple easy IO or legacy library routines that were very straight forward and used a minimum of code.  I also tried defining the tasks in Measurement and Automation Explorer, but I could not get those to work also.  I thought it was just me but I talked to two other engineers who also dabble in programming and they too are not happy with the improvement. 
    I think the issue is that we have to be better programmers.  Instead of just engineers who use the CVI tool.
    Again, I want to thank you for any help that you can offer.

    Currently, I can copy ONE tab's url and nothing else (not its name). Or I can bookmark all tabs that are open. However, I'd like to have the ability to select multiple tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs AND their titles/or copy ALL of the URLs+titles+HTML links? This can be done with the Multiple Tab Handler add on; when I download the add on, I get a message saying that using the add on will disable Firefox's tab features. I prefer to use Firefox features rather than download and use an add on. Is there a way to do this without an add on?

    You should definitely be able to upload multiple files by Shift-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the files you want to upload. Just to make sure you don't have an old version of the service cached, please clear the browser cache and then log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. After clicking the File Upload icon in the upper-right corner, you should be able so select multiple files for upload.
