Native Process Not Supported in Flash Builder 4.1

Hi,
I am using Flash Builder 4.1 and I am trying with native processing with the example from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/flex/quickstart/articles/interacting_with_native_process.h tml. When I tried to run the project in Flash Builder, it shows "NativeProcess not supported.". However, after I export release build, the application is working properly.
How can I have the native process to be able to run in Flash builder? So that it will be easier for me to test and troubleshoot the application. Thanks.

You need to add the following line in your  ***-app.xml file for debugging mode
<supportedProfiles>extendedDesktop</supportedProfiles>
and
<supportedProfiles>extendedDesktop desktop</supportedProfiles>
for release build

  • Adobe Creative Suite Extension builder 2 not supported in Flash Builder 4.7 64 bit

Couldn't find anywhere to submit a bug report so hopefully this is a good place.
I was able to succesfully download and install the Adobe Creative Suite Extension builder 2 into Flash Builder 4.7 with not problems.
When I click File -> New -> Creative Suite Exention Project nothing happends. I recieve no error messages just the Project wizard panel that is expected to open doesn't open.
The extension works as expected when installed into the non-beta Flash Builder 4.6 32 bit verison.
I suspect there may be an incompatibility when switching to the 64 bit version of Flash Builder.

    Hi everyone,
The problem is that Flash Builder 4.7 is not compatible with Extension Builder 2. Therefore we have provided Flash Builder 4.6 available for download, see links below.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you run into further problems.

  • AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed.

I've written an application in Flash Builder and I'm now attempting to get it running on an iPad.
I am running on a Mac (OSX 10.6.7)
I have FB 4.5 installed and downloaded the separate 4.5.1 update file successfully updated FB to 4.5.1.
I have downloaded and installed AIR 2.7.
I have downloaded and installed the AIR sdk.
I have an iOS developer account and have created my developer certificatn p12 file, created an Apple Id for my application and a provisioning profile.
I created a new "ActionScript Mobile Project" for my application and enabled the Apple iOS platform.
I have entered my certificate and provisioning information into FB.
I created a "Debug Configuration" for my project.
When I run my debug configuration, I am prompted for my Certificate Password (which I enter).
I then receive a pop-up message with the following error:
"AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed. To enable packaging support for Apple iOS follow these instructions."
The link for the instructions links to the following knowledge base article:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/899/cpsid_89938.html
I have Flash Builder as a part of the CS5.5 Web Premium (on DVD), which does not appear to have a "AIR for Apple iOS Support" option during the FB installation.
So I followed the manual installation steps provided (although copying the described folders to my sdks/4.5.1 folder (rather than the sdks/4.5 folder).
However, doing the above did not resolve the issue. I still get the same error message as before.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Native signing not supported on mac!!

To sign both the installer and its executable we're using Thawte and Comodo certificates. For MacOS we've Thawte and Apple. This following command builds a proper signed installer version (along with its executable .exe) with the combination of both the certificates, in Windows:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx -target native -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi
    (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS789ea67d3e73a8b22388411123785d839c-8000.html)
When running the same command to compile a .dmg file - ADT reported an error:
Native signing not supported on mac
I'm not sure if the adt doesn't has the ability to do such process in MacOS unlike Windows! Any idea?

    Hello Ken,
Thanks for commenting. But that 'solution' already tested and its found not true with recent AIR SDK version.
    If you do this:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi -target native
    You'll have compiler error:
"-storetype already specified", and you can see why in the command
    If you do this:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx native -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi -target
    You'll again have compiler error:
    "not enough argument"
I don't think this have a fix yet.

    Error: native VM not supported
    Stopping Pointbase server...
    Pointbase server stopped.

I believe this is the error you get when you try to start up a JVM with the commandline option '-native'.
Remove this flag from your startup script and retry.
By the way, it may be that you have the environment variable 'JAVA_OPTIONS' set to '-native' in which case:
(first confirm this is the case)
    $ echo $JAVA_OPTIONS
    -native
(Then edit the startup script if you get the result above)
    add in a line:
    # To remove '-native' flag
    unset JAVA_OPTIONS
    and retry.
I have to confess I don't know what the '-native' flag is actually supposed to do, but my JVM also reports back that this is unsupported.

  • As apple does not support Adobe flash how do I watch youtube other  videos and play games?

As apple does not support Adobe flash how do I watch youtube other  videos and play games?

There is a YouTube built-in app for watching those videos. If you can't find the app (it can't be deleted), then check that it's not hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > YouTube.
For videos on other sites then you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

  • TS1702 Why does iPad not support adobe flash player

Why does the Ipad not support Adobe Flash Player ?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go
      5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Error: native VM not supported

    Hi
I have just run the blackbox application in the javacomms API download:
    1) I invoked it using the prescribed command java -native blackbox to which I got the error native VM not supported.
    2) I then ran it again without the -native switch and got the error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: blackbox.
Can anyone help please? Is there something I have not installed correctly? I am using Windows XP professional service pack 1.
    Thanks
    Chris Wilson

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundErrorThat always means that either your classpath is wrong or that isn't the name of the class.

  • Hi. I know that Apple do not support Adobe Flash but is there anything else I could use. Thanks

    Hi
I know that Apple do not support Adobe Flash but is there anything else I could use to view more? Thanks

There is not going to be an ideal solution. Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, and Puffin work on some sites (but judging by their reviews not all). Also a number of websites (especially news sites) have their own apps in the app store which might let you get some of the content that you want.

  • The CSS type selector ... was not processed, because this issue is not fixed in Flash Builder 4.

"The CSS type selector 'mx.containers.Accordion' was not processed, because the type was not used in the application."
I've had to filter out this useless warning since FB2, can't we get this removed or provide us with the ability in Flash Builder to turn on/off various types of warnings and errors?  Eclipse has this for Java, Adobe should use that as a basis and add a similar feature.
Unless there's another way to hide this useless warning I'm not aware of?  Anyone using any kind of Flex theme that comes with a complete css style for all UI classes must be seeing this junk, but what's the point?

Was hoping this silly warning would go away by the time FB4 came out, but nope.  So I am back to agitate.
Does this even NEED to be a warning?  What's the harm in some unused css?  Actually, if the compiler is so smart that it can figure out that the css is unused, it should also be smart enough to ignore it entirely, right?
The actual warning text (without inter-weaved joke) is:
The CSS type selector 'mx.controls.RadioButton' was not processed, because the type was not used in the application.
This is for EVERY unused class.  Makes it somewhat inconvenient (obscures real warnings and errors that you actually care about) to re-use css files, which is part of the point of using css in the first place.

  • IOS support for Flash Builder 4.5.1

I am getting the following message when I try to export a releae build to iOS using Flash Builder 4.5.1:
This platform is not currently supported for Flex Mobile projects
I have tried running the update again and gives me the update was successful message, but I still don't have iOS support.
I did update using the Eclipse updater and was unable to open Flash Builder, but since resolved that issue. I wonder if I need to reinstall Flash Builder and reapply the update or if there is an easier fix.

I just created a project with Adobe Launchpad (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/airlaunchpad/), and it looked like I setup all the options for iOS, but when I go to run configurations and try and deploy to an iOS device I'm getting the same problem: "This platform is not currently supported for Flex Mobile projects"
    Anyone know why?

  • SFTP support in Flash Builder?

    Hi all,
I wanted to ask whether there is SFTP support somewhere in the Flash Builder / Flex Builder or whether I can somehow add this (plugin?). I searched the internet and I didn't come up with much about it. (I just downloaded and installed Flash Builder 4 Beta).
In my current workflow it is essential for me to be able to edit files directly on the server through SFTP. Having Flash builder to do one bit and Zend or whatever to do the backend stuff (not to mention any maintenance work) is a show-stopper. (no, configuring CVS is not our idea of fun )
Regarding Flash, I'm new to it. I'm quite experienced at creating rather complex data-centric apps using jQuery+PHP and I'm also an experienced (Certified) Java developer. I want to do the switch at some point to something more... proper (Flex+J2EE) and I'm currently looking to find out what the smoothest transition will be.

  • New MovieClips added to existing SWC library not available in Flash Builder

To be as brief as possible with this...
I have 2 swc libraries in my Flash Builder Project. One is in a "Common" project and the other one is in a MobilePlayer project. Obviously the "common" project contains UI assets that apply across the board, while the MobilePlayer version contains assets specific to that version of the application.
Both swc files are in the respective libraries for each project we are referencing. Up until yesterday I could add new MovieClips to the "common.swc" and they would be available across the board instantly.
Sometime yesterday I could not get new MCs added to my "common.swc" to show up in the intellisense, or become avaialble whatsoever.
For troubleshooting I am creating a Square, turning it into a MC symbol, exported for AS with a classname of "Fubar"
whenever I try and create a new instance of :Fubar() to anything anywhere in my applicatioin I get the Call to possibly undefined method Fubar error message. It does not show up in intellisense menus and it is NON EXISTENT.
HOWEVER — Named movieclips within my .swc library I have already been using such as "CompanyLogo()" etc etc are STILL fully available and can be referenced from anywhere in my application. I can add a new CompanyLogo()  anywhere I want with no problem.
As ANOTHER test, I REMOVED the movieclips CompanyLogo (and others) from my Library and re-saved the SWC.
All of a sudden Flash Buider generates a compiler error (undefined method) for each missing referenced MC in the swc file (obviously, because they are no longer there).
However, those named MCs still show up in intellisense menus etc etc.
Basically what I can determine is that Flash Builder is not updating and picking up any changes to this SWC library whenever anything is added or removed from it. At some point it became "locked" in memory (for lack of a better term) and it refuses to recognize that the file has been changed.
When I extract the catalog.xml from the SWC and read through it, I can find nodes for every single NEW mc I've created yet I cannot get them to show up in Flash Builder. I refresh, close and restart Flash Builder and have done everything I can possibly think of to get my updates to register and they refuse.
On the other hand my "mobile.swc" updates just fine as I make changes to it. If I add a new MC to it, it is instantly available. If I take away a MC it FB instantly recognizes that it is gone.
Am I doing something wrong here or am I correct in my assumption that for some reason FB refuses to update the contents of my "common.swc" library into memory?
Any insight would be appreciated as I cannot find a single relevant answer in 3 hours of Google searching.

    OK,
Now I see what is really going on. I am trying to reference MCs from my "common.swc" lib which is in a different project, and the reason they are showing up and available is because I used them in MXML files within the "common" project that are called upon and loaded before the mobile specific login screen MXML is loaded.
I just did a quick test to see if the new button I created would be available within the "common" project and it is there, and shows up with intellisense etc etc as expected.
When I add an instance of my new button to a MXML file being loaded before the mobile specific stuff I can then drop it into my mobile specific screens and it shows up.
I either need to figure out how to reference MCs within a swc inside of a different project directly, or just declare them when the application first loads.

  • BENQ FP241W on Retina Macbook Pro - native resolution not supported?

    Hi there,
I have tried connecting my BENQ FP241W monitor to my new Macbook Pro with retina display via HDMI.
The monitor appears to be displaying at only 1600x900 and looks very blurry since the native resolution of the monitor is 1920x1200. I have actually tried this with an older 2009 model macbook pro and the same thing happend, although I was using a dispaly port to HDMI adaptor and never investigated further to the reason the native resolution was not supported.
Going back to the Retina Macbook and the BENQ FP241W. It gives the following resolution options for scaled: 1080p, 1080i and 1600x900. When I choose 1080p or 1080i it looks the same as 1600x900 i.e very blury and not even close to the sharpness that is capable of the display - true 1080p should look sharper than how it looks selected so I dont believe it is actually displaying 1080p. It also has the option for 'best for display' which I would expect it to show native resolution of 1920x1200 - unfortunately it still apears to be 1600x900.
Can anyone help me out? Is this a driver issue or something else?
    Thanks
    Rich

I can sort this out by just using a HDMI > DVI cable which works fine. I think there must just be an issue with the BenQ HDMI input supporting 1920x1200. Its annoying because the screen is also connected to a PC workstation by DVI so it would be good to have the HDMI for the Macbook so I can quickly switch the display by pressing a button instead of having to unplug cables...
