NetworkManager and the missing domain

I was facing this issue, after i changed one of my domains ip, i was unable to resolve its name on my arch machine (ping mydomain) , my first thought was delayed propagation of dns, but that was not the case, on another machine i could reach it , if i turned my vpn on i could reach it.
Now comes what is driving me crazy, i try refreshing all dns caches i read could exist on the arch wiki to no avail, i also created a network profile with a different dns server (it works!) trouble is after a reboot a new profile appears in gnome network and the profile i created has to be manually activated.
So why my domain is unreachable on my machine alone?
How to i prevent NetworkManager from creating a profile on boot so it can stick with the one i created?
Man i am trying to solve this for 3 days with no avail its becoming darn obsessive! this issue need to go away from my (almost) perfect functioning arch machine!

As for the future of products like Color, DVDSP, Motion and SoundtrackPro, (I trying not to speculate) I'm sure that the kind of improvements seen in Final Cut Pro will also be apart of the next versions of those products.

SharePoint 2010 Backup has been taken from production and restored through Semantic Tool in one of the server.The wepapplication of which the backup was taken is working fine.

I have same error. Verified for trust , ports , cleaned up cache.. nothing has helped.

7110 and The specified domain controller could not be contacted

Hello,
Running a 7110 with 2010.Q3.2.0 Software Release and can't seem to join a Windows 2008 SP2 x64 Active Directory Domain.
I get the following:
error: The specified domain controller could not be contacted, or the domain is
invalid for the controller.
Does anyone know of any known bugs????

Runtime error R6034, itunesHelper.exe and the missing library MSVCR80.dll

I made the mistake of upgrading to the new version of itunes and I appeared the following errors:
- Runtime Error R6034 on ituneshelper.exe
- Library MSVCR80.dll not found
- Error 7 (windows error 126)
I tried to install and uninstall as they say apple forums, I researched on my own restoring records, and review it with MicrosoftFixit which is also a solution to the problem but none of the options mentioned above solves the problem. I'm about to format my pc, but I read it in 3 forums that solution does not help. Lords of apple, what's going on with you? Sorry forgot to mention that since I restored settings to my pc that was 1 month ago and nothing happened.

first disable your antivirus (you can re-enable later)
go to start, right click on computer and choose properties - note if you have 64 bit or 32 bit operating system
then make sure all users on the computer are logged off
log into admin user (if yours isn't already one)
then uninstall in this order
itunes
apple software update
apple mobile device support (if it won't go - support.microsoft.com/fixit - skip step 1 and go to step 2 - click install or upgrade software or hardware - then scroll down to the bottom of step 3 and click run now next to Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled - basically tell it you want to manually tell it want you wantto do and then choose to uninstall and choose apple mobile device - if it freezes or stops around the end then just quit it and relaunch control panel and the apple mobile device should be gone)
then continue to remove
bonjour
apple application support
then restart computer
click start - left click on computer - double click on c drive
double click on program files
make sure the itunes, ipod, and bonjour folders are gone - if they aren't select them, then right click and delete
if you are on 64 bit
complete the steps for program files and then also do program files x86
if you had to delete any of those folders manually restart again afterwards
for 32bit os - go to www.apple.com/itunes and download new itunes
for 64bit os - support.apple.com/kb/DL1615 and download the 64bit version of itunes for windows
this will resolve any issues related to the update
NOTE - this will not touch your playlists or media files - your songs are not saved in the itunes application itself those are in a different folder in your music folder

Finder and the missing side bar

Hi- tonight I purchased a new external hard drive. I got home and backed my computer up. No big deal. I also purchased Snow Leopard since I only had Leopard. I think everything went fairly smoothly. However, when I open my Finder I do not have the side bar anymore. I went into preferences to the side bar settings, made sure everything was checked to be up an on the sidebar and still no luck. Any advice on how to get my sidebar for the finder back? Thanks!

Well, I figured it out myself. Sometimes just posting the question makes the answer come to you! For those who my have the same problem in the future- there is a small rectangular box in the upper right hand corner. click on it and the side bar will appear.

Wifi and the missing status bar symbols

My status bar has changed (or, did I press something?) so that it now only shows iPad, time and battery strength. It works perfectly at home but I can no longer access wifi when away from home. How do I restore the status bar to its original format?

Sharepoint foundation 2013 "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed"

Hi Sir/Madam,
I try to connect the sharepoint foundation 2013 server by remote desktop recently using domain account, but it show the error message that mentioned in the subject. I can login the server using local account. Do I need to disjoin
the domain then rejoin the domain? Will there be any risk if I do this?
My SharePoint environment as below:
Primary domain : abc.local (DC : windows server 2012 standard R2)
SharePoint : SharePoint foundation 2013 and SQL Standard 2012 installed on a single windows server 2012 standard (not R2, joined domain "abc.local)
I tried this on DC > active directory user and compouter >right click Sharepoint pc > click reset > reboot sharepoint server, reboot sharepoint server but still cannot login using AD account
I also tried netdom command and powershell command "Reset -ComputerMachinePassword" also failed to reset the password.
Please help to resolve my problem. Thanks

Go to Control Panel -> System -> under Computer Name, Domain, click Change Settings. Click on the Change button, then re-type the domain in the NetBIOS or FQDN format, which ever it is currently not set to. This will force a soft-join to the domain.

RSAT and the missing Attribute Editor tab [solution]

PROBLEM
When you install RSAT on a Vista workstation or Server 2008 system, that is managing a 2000/2003 based forest, you do not see the Attribute Editor tab when looking at the properties of a User or Computer object in Active Directory Users and Computers(ADUC).
MORE INFORMATION
The Display Specifier is not updated in the Configuration Naming context, because the 2008 schema changes have not been executed on the forest. Part of the upgrade updates the forest Display Specifiers. The Attribute Editor tab actually uses functions within the ADSIEDIT tool , more specifically the ADSIEDIT.DLL extension. Although the DLL is probably registered on the RSAT system, the ConfigNC need updating, in order to expose the tab in the ADUC interface.
SOLUTION
Use the ADSIEDIT tool (or other tool of choice...ADexplorer, LDP etc), with a user who has rights to modify the Configuration Naming Context.
Navigate to cn=<languagepage>, cn=configuration, dc=<domainname>
(where <languagepage> is your relevant language...see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324097)
(where <domainname> is your domain dn)

IPhoto 08 and the missing Shutterfly button for exporting

Does any know what happened to the shutterfly button that was in iPhoto 06 for exporting, it seems to be gone in the 08 version???
Help my wife is giving me grief about upgrading to Leopard and iPhoto 08!!

If shutterfly has an export plugin for iPhoto '08 it typically would need to be installed from Shutterfly (it is not an Apple product) and then would appear as a tab in the file menu ==> export pager

MDS, slow Lion and the missing memory

Hi;
Updated to Lion a week ago, and apart of a couple apps that needed to be retired (PPC), here is my dilema:
The iMac (4gb) starts to slooow down to a crawl and I cannot use more than one app at a time. Open large files in Photoshop?, forget it. I got Safari on, and iStats shows free memory just dissapearing: from 4gb to 200megs (Same for PS and iTunes). Activity confirms it,...
I'm seeing a lot of posts with the same problem, no solution.

Lion has sophisticated new memory management. I don't know iStat understands it. You mentioned MDS but didn't discuss it. Run Activity Monitor and see which processes are using the CPU and "Real mem".

Laptop invoice and the missing RAM mistery.

i purchased a T500 laptop online from lenovo.com 2 years ago. does anyone know if i can somehow trace the invoice and parts order for that laptop?
the reason i need that is that i remember buying 6GB RAM for that laptop but since it arrived with winxp pro downgrade i could only see 3GB available RAM. i have recently installed win7 and to my surprise i could only see 4GB RAM on my system.
any help will be much appreciated

WOW 3gigs of ram seen in your XP... My T500 in XP on sees 2g. Could be the difference between XP PRO and HomeEdition. You have Pro I do not.
And as lead_org says, systems did not come with 6gigs back then.

IOS 6, factory reset and the missing photos - where are they now?

I installed IOS6 then did a factory reset on my ipad, and afterwards all photos bar the seven in the photostream disappeared. They're still in the device somewhere as they're still taking up space under the 'Usage' section.
Anyone know how to recover them, or delete them entirely to free up that memory for other things? (All are backed up elsewhere so deletion is not a problem).

Have you been using your phone as recommended? If so, you've been importing photos in your camera roll onto your computer for safe keeping. Just as you would with a standalone digital camera. Your photos would then reside safely on your computer for archival.
While camera roll photos ARE part of the backup, not everything always goes smoothly as you've seen, which is why the recommendation to import photos as soon as possible to your computer.
If you have a recent backup of your iPhone, you can restore and hopefully many of your photos will be on this backup. Any photos or data added to your phone since this last backup are, of course, gone forever.

Audio cut out and midi miss sync

Lately I have been getting audio cut out, and the missing, 'error while trying to sync audio and midi'.
I thought it was that I had too many instances of virtual instruments. So I mixed the song down. Imported that into a NEW song, with only one audio track, and then proceeded to try to do an organ overdub...Well Logic still drops out and gives me the message, even though there is NO midi information in this file...
Then I noticed that even AIF or mp3 files, didn't play properly from the desktop preview mode. They stop too. Activity monitor doesn't seem to be showing anything overworking..
Disk Warrior fixed some volume errors,
Anyone have any ideas to try?

I'm using a motu828. I disconnected the firewire connection, and ran audio from the headphone jack to the motu, and VOILA, no problems... Last year, I went thru two motu units, not really sure if they are the issue.
I think it might be LOGIC's firewire circuitry. Apple techs couldn't find the issue, I had the G5 motherboard replaced. Another factor was I had 3 Lacie firewire drives (2 firewire 800, 1 400) I have had 4 Lacie drives die on me in the last 3 years. They are the only firewire drives I have, so I don't know if the fault lies with them, or the again Apples firewire circuitry, stressing the drives out???
I also put a firewire 800 card in my system.
I have now switched to an external ESATA raid setup. No more firewire drives. So far so good. Since I had the whole motherboard replaced, I don't know what that means in terms of MOTU connected via firewire..
For now, I'm running audio out of headphone jack, using all virtual instruments, so I know it will sound better when I get firewire audio up and running, but I got tired of it cutting out every 3 - 30 minutes. I'm thinking about the apogee duet unit. But again if it's connected via firewire, I don't know where that leaves me..
My G5 is three and half years old, perhaps it's tired and wants to be retired....
The dark part of me wonders, if Apple computers don't start crapping out after three years of heavy use, or is it that technology, software, updates, push the hardware beyond it's capacity after a few years.

Nov 1, 2012. i.e. the Microsoft standard of mydomain.local will no longer be accepted as a SAN on a UCC for Exchange 2010. I've looked thru the KBs and Social forums, but haven't really found any guidance on how to solve this. I'm presuming
that the certs will have to be split and the "external" domain name of server.mydomain.net will just become a single server SSL, and the internal name of server.mydomain.local will become a Self-Signed certificate. With the increasing prevalence of OA
and ActiveSync devices, is there any baseline guidance yet on how to make this happen without completely fouling up production servers and killing access to the user community?

Against recommended deployment, I have a number of clients running all their services on one box. Windows Server 2008, Active Directoy, DNS, Exchange 2010 ...and so on. These servers all have .local addresses, which means of course that the SAN
certificates have .local addresses as one of the SANs.
I've read alot online about this issue, and am trying to find the most cost effective solution to switch numerous production servers running this configuration.
The best solution I've come up with so far is...
1. Virtual AD with new external domain, 2. Migrate Exchange CAS to this domain, 3. Reconfigure network through the box.
Obviously these steps will contain alot more details, but this is just the outline atm. At best, I see me having to take a second box with me to each location to perform these steps, and I can't see it happening without disruption to the work flow
of employees.
Thankfully, all of these businesses are relatively smal...under 25 employees. Still, I'd like to find the smoothest transition solution possible.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
