New DST on Call Manager/Unity

Hello Guys,
I know Cisco has released patches for new DST for Unity and CCM.
The issue is my CCM and Unity are getting their time from NTP.
According to my understanding, NTP network time servers, they are not affected by DST since by definition NTP serves time in the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) format. DST time offsets are handled by the client operating system.
Hence we will have to review the underlying client operating system settings for the CCM, Unity & Voice gateway.
Is that correct?

Hi Mirza,
You are correct. Like Mike has correctly indicated, NTP just passes off the UTC Time and you will need to perform the applicable OS changes/CCM/Unity changes as indicated. Have a look at the following;
For CCM Readme;
http://ftp-sj.cisco.com/cisco/crypto/3DES/voice/callmgr/4.1/ciscocm.4-1-3-2007-DST-Update.1-0-1-readme.htm
For Unity Field Notice;

Hope this helps!

  • Hunt Group with Pots lines in Call Manager

    Hello all.  I have a site with 12 Pots lines.  It is all configured via Call Manager.  We are using mgcp.  I asked the telco to setup the numbers to hunt which they said they did but still when I call the main number second time it just rings and eventually get some voicemail that is not from the call manager.  I think I need to setup Hunting in the Call Manager?  Is that correct?
    Line Group --> Add the extensions in here and set them up to hunt?
    Hunt List --> Create a Hunt list and associate a Line Group with it?
    Hunt Pilot --> I add all the extensions in here?

    Let's take one step back. What are you trying to accomplish? I am assuming you want to market one number but have the ability to accept multiple calls on that number. If that is the case, having the telco set up a hunt is the way to go.
    Beyond that, where do you want those calls from the PSTN to route? Are you wanting those calls to ring a hunt group on your side? If so, you will need to do the following:
         1. Configure a Line group. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Line Group) This is where you will be adding the extensions. You will also need to specify a distribution algorithm. The distribution algorith, is where you will be choosing how you want the extensions to ring. For instance, if you set the DA to broadcast, every extension in the line group will ring at the same time. Click Help --> this page, while you are in the line group configuration page to get more information about the settings you can modify and different algorithms you can use.
         2. Configure a Hunt List. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Hunt List) You will need to create a new Hunt List and add your line group to it. The hunt list is evaluated in a top down fashion. You can get pretty tricky with multiple line groups with different distribution algorithms in your hunt list, but if you just want something basic,just add the line group you made.
         3. Configure the Hunt Pilot. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Hunt Pilot) The hunt pilot will be the dialed number that triggers the hunt group. Make sure you select all the required settings. You will be selecting the hunt list you just made in this configuration page. Be sure to set a maximum hunt timer and final destination so that the calls do not just ring forever. You can get pretty granular with the settings in here. Reference the help --> this page document for more information.
         4. POINT THE FXO PORTS TO THE HUNT PILOT. This is very important. Calls to your analog lines will not trigger the hunt group unless you point the ports to the Hunt Pilot. If you are using MGCP/SCCP you will need to enter the hunt pilot in the "Attendant DN" field for EVERY FXO port. If you do not enter a value here, CUCM will have no idea what to do when the port rings. It will not answer the call if there is no value specified. This would explain why your calls were ending up with the telco voicemail service; CUCM was never answering the call.
    If you completed the above steps correctly, you should be able to call the main number multiple times and have the calls go to a hunt group on your side, no matter which line the call ends up coming in on.
    Let me know if you have any questions, this can be kind of tricky at first.
    PS, if the calls were going to a voicemail that wasn't from Call Manager (Unity Connection) call the telco and have them remove voicemail service from the lines, assuming you have configured Unity Connection to handle that.
    Hope this helps,
    Dallan

  • Call Manager Migration 7.1.5 to 9.1 / Trunking : ICT vs. SIP

    Hello All,
         Currently studying for CCNA Voice and have been asked by my current employer to upgrade CUCM 7.1.5 to 9.1.1. There has been a time frame put on the deployment however I want to dig pretty deep into the deployment to learn as much as possible. I am going to start by configuring a trunk between the 2 call manager clusters. from there I will add users to the new call manager and try to convert slowly to the new call manager instead of one big cutover. I will place a route pattern over the trunk so that cucm 9.1 will route through cucm 7.1 while I slowly convert users to the new system. I will then deploy directory numbers in a Staging partition that is not associated with any CSS. Once I have all users and phones configured on the new 9.1 call manager I want to use the bulk admin tool to change the staging partition to the working internal_PT production partition. The users will be imported from LDAP.  My questions are, does this sound like a feasible plan?  Is there any other difference between a SIP trunk and ICT besides the SIP and H.323 protocol? ( I prefer SIP from what I have read) and will having the same users on both boxes interfere with call processing, if these users and phones are not active yet?

    Just for the record. I found the solution to my problem. Checking more logs I read this:
    The installation has encountered a unrecoverable internal error. For further assistance report the following information to your support provider.
    "/usr/local/cm/script/cm-dbl-ontape_backup-install RU PostInstall 9.1.2.11900-12 7.1.5.30000-1 /usr/local/cm/ /common/component/database /common/log/install/capture.txt " terminated. Exceeded max time (240)
    The system will now halt.
    So I accessed the Dissaster Recovery Section on CUCM and deleted the tape backup device that was configured there. After deleting it the upgrade went well.

  • Migrating from Call Manager 8.5.1 to HCS

    moving to HCS and apparently there is no configuration migration utility so the vendor has to type it all in. That seems strange to me so I am asking if any has ever heard of a way to get my Call Manager & Unity 8.5.1 configuration into HCS without having to type it all in again ?

    No problem.  HCS typically uses VOSS for multi-customer CUCM management, and that tool accepts data in Excel format.  Just perform a BAT Export on your CUCM and Unity information and send it on, and the vendor can manipulate the data as needed without retyping.  I've done some HCS projects, and I depended on the Excel data and BAT for importing customer information.

  • ICS 7750 Replacing Call Manager Blade

    I have an ICS 7750 which the Call Manager blade which is an SPE310 is going out. I can still access it but it is going out. Cisco no longer gives software support on this system but we do have hardware support meaning they are going to RMA us a new SPE310 for Call Manager. The version of CME on the module is 3.3. I am looking for documentation/information on the process for moving from this old module to the new module.

    Check for the bug - CSCea55906.
    Before launching the install on the ICS platform run c:\icsbeforeinstall.bat
    After the install is complete on the ICS platform run c:\icsafterinstall.bat
    Then reboot the System Processing Engine blade (SPE) where the install was completed

  • Can Unity VM support mulitiple Call Manager Clusters

    I have a 4.1.3 cluster that has Unified Messaging 4.0. Can I add a 5.1.3 Call Manager cluster and use the same Unity server? All the 4.1.3 users will migrate to 5.1.3 in the future.

    If you have done this before and have some good tricks to share please do.
    I found the answer, finally, on Cisco and am posting it here in case someone else has the same question.
    For Cisco Unified CallManager phone systems, note that Multiple Cisco Unified CallManager clusters
    can be added to an existing Cisco Unified CallManager integration in UTIM by adding new clusters to
    the integration. Because subscribers are associated with the integration and not with an individual
    cluster, adding a cluster to an integration does not count against the maximum integration total. For
    instructions on adding clusters to a Cisco Unified CallManager integration in UTIM, refer to the
    “Creating an Integration with a Second Cluster of Cisco Unified CallManager” section in the applicable
    Cisco Unified CallManager integration guide at

  • Toll fraud traffic pumping on a Call manager express and unity express with an 800 toll free number.

    I have a customer with a call manager express and a unity express. They have an 800 toll free number that rings in to an auto attendant on the CUE. The problem is something called toll fraud traffic pumping. The caller, always from a different number, reaches the auto attendant by dialing the 800 number. They then somehow manage to keep the line connected for up to 12 hours by somehow staying in the auto attendant. I opened a TAC case and was informed that it is not in Cisco's hands to create a way to disconnect a call that is connected to the CUE. I need a way to have a call that stays in the auto attendant or voicemail after 3 to 5 minutes. I can't see a way to do it in the auto attendant script. Can someone help with a method that will disconnect the caller if they stay in the CUE for a period of time?

    Thank you for the response Jaime.
    That is what TAC told me. I am not familiar with TCL scripting and I have been looking at some guides on it. Any advice on a source to go to for assistance with that, possibly someone to help?

  • Call Manager 10 License Standard License

    Customer has Call Manager 10 and wants to add 220 Phones with Standard License including voicemail capability. What is the TOP level PN please?

    Hi Anas,
    thanks for sharing more info[+5]
    I was referring the messaging ordering  guide which says
    With version 10.x, there are now two types of users - Basic and Enhanced.

    Basic (formerly referred to as "Standard" a-la-carte) user functionality is unchanged from 9.0. It includes all user-based features such as voicemail, integrated, and unified messaging capabilities, as well as automated speech recognition and more.

    Enhanced users are new for 9.1 and the same with 10.x. Enhanced includes all Basic user functionality plus the ability to configure the user for SRSV.

    You may mix Basic and Enhanced users on the same Cisco Unity Connection server. Only Enhanced users may be configured for a branch SRSV system.
    Part Code is UNITYCN10-STD-USR
    UNITYCN10-ENH-USR

  • Integration with Cisco Call Manager?

    We have Cisco VOIP phones and we would like to continue managing calls with Cisco Call Manager.  We currently have voicemail on Cisco Unity.  We currently have Exchange 2010, but plan to start using Exchange 2013 soon.
    However, we would like to migrate voicemail service from Cisco Unity to Exchange Unified Messaging and also want to take advantage of most of the voicemail-related features of UM such as voice to text sent to email, voice mail waiting indicator light on
    the phones and sending voice mail audio attachments to email.
    Is Exchange 2013 Unified Messaging compatible Cisco phones that are managed by Cisco Call Manager?
    We have 500 users and 2 Exchange 2010 servers (1 CAS and 1 Mailbox Server).  We now have a few Exchange 2013 licenses available in addition to our existing 2010 licenses that are already used on our existing 2 servers.  Can we keep the 2 existing
    Exchange 2010 servers as they are and create a new Unified Messaging server on  Exchange 2013 in the same environment or do we need to upgrade all the 2010 servers to 2013 if we use Unified Messaging on 2013?

  • Upgrade Call Manager from 8.6.2 to 10.5

    Hello All,
    We are planning to upgrade a Cisco Call Manager Publisher node from 8.6.2 to 10.5. We want to install a new publisher on a new environment, but we are struggling with some questions.
    If we install the Pub node 10.5 can we migrate the configuration from the 8.6.2 to 10.5? Do we need a special tool for this?
    If above doesn't work, we can still migrate the existing call manager towards the new servers and start the upgrade, the only problem we face there is that we have to change the publisher's IP because we want to use a new ip addressing scheme.
    Kr,
    Yannick Vranckx

    Your best bet is to use the new tool: cisco prime collaboration deployment. This fits perfectly into what you want to do here and can easily help you with all aspect of the migration including the ip address change. You can learn how to use the tool here..

  • How do I create a new emkey for Enterprise Manager Database Control?

    Hi,
    I just installed 11gR2.
    I am evaluating it.
    How do I create a new emkey for Enterprise Manager Database Control?
    I tried various combinations of this command:
    emctl config emkey
    I did find a probable bug:
    $ emctl config emkey -emkey -emkeyfile emkey.ora -force -sysman_pwd he11ow0rld

    Again,
    How do I create a new emkey for Enterprise Manager Database Control?
    I do have a copy of my old key but it is no longer good because I reinstalled the repository with these commands:
    emca -repos drop ...
    emca -repos create ...
    Oh, and where is emctl "documented".
    I poked around in some book-index links and with the search engine.
    I could not find anything.

  • Creating a new user in solution manager?

    Dear All,
          How to create a new user in solution manager for creating an incident?

    prathish5,
    I did this in our SolMan by following the instructions provided by a SAP document called: "Service Desk VAR Setup Master Data". I got it from the Support Portal, though I can't seem to find it now so I can't provide a link at this time.
    Anyway, assuming that your SolMan is already able to download your master data (and/or your customers', if you are a VAR), these are the steps suggested by the guide:
    1) The message creator (aka Key User) should have the following authorization roles:
    SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
    SAP_SUPPCF_CREATE
    SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
    SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN
    See also SAP note 834534.
    A best practice is to create a Z copy of all of these roles (use transaction PFCG), so you can manage them and change them around if you need to. Just make sure to "activate" all the authorizations of your copy of the roles:
    - Open the roles in tr. PFCG;
    - Select Authorizations, and choose Change authorization data;
    - If you get a yellow semaphore, be sure to review the authorizations and fill them according to your security policy. You can assign global permissions for all the authorization objects by double-clicking the yellow semaphore;
    - Generate the profile, then go back and save the role;
    2) Following the guide, with tr. SU01 I created a Template user and called it KEY_USER (make sure the user type is actually Template) and assigned to it the Z roles you created in the step above;
    3) If your SolMan is working properly, you can now use report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP (tr. SA38) to create the Business Partners and SAP users automatically. The report will log in the Support Portal and read the users which are authorized to open a SAP tickets, and create a BP and user for each of them. Use the Template user KEY_USER created in step 2 as a "Reference user" and all the new users will automatically get the correct autorizations. Also if your SAP Connect (tr. SCOT) is correctly configured, you can choose to send an automatic mail to each user, with their login and generated password.
    Otherwise, you can manually create a user with transactions SU01 and BP - be sure to fill the "Identities" table here - the report AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP makes all these things automatically so it's definitely your best bet.
    4) Your users should now be able to log in with the SAPgui and use transaction CREATE_NOTIF to create a new message in your SolMan. Also if you have done the preparation steps correctly they should also be able to log in your Incident Manager using their browser, and open a message there and also review their past messages.
    Those are just a quick insight of the steps you need to do. This is NOT an easy thing to configure, at least it wasn't for me; if you don't have a reliable guide to follow you're going to struggle: I strongly suggest you browse through the SAP documentations (also the blogs) - http://service.sap.com/xsearch is your best friend!
    I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck.

  • CDR FIles in Call Manager version 7.1.5-30000

    Good Morning:
    I have a cluster of servers Cisco Call Manager version 7.1.5.30000; 01 Publisher and 02 subscriber. The publisher server passes CDR files to a call accounting application PC-SYSTEL on another server. At one point the CDR files are no longer spend the Call Manager to the application PC-SYSTEL
    Call manager services are reviewed, the part of CDR Management in Cisco Unified Serviciability right. The only solution is doing a RESTART to PUBLISHER server,  and then again go CDR files to the application PC-SYSTEL
    Please anyone has any solution other than to give a RESTART PUBLISHER server, or is this the only way to restore this service.
    Expect your news.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.
    Regards.
    Fernando.

    Hi Fernando,
    Please check the following.
    (1) Confirm that the billing server is configured correctly (verify the IP address). From the Cisco Unified Serviceability page, navigate to Tools > CDR Management to view the billing server parameters.
    (2) Check if you can ping the billing server from the Publisher. From the Publisher CLI, you can use the following command:
    utils network ping a.b.c.d
       where a.b.c.d is the IP address of the billing server
    (3) Check if the FTP (or SFTP) service/software running on the billing server.
    (4) Check if the billing server is running out of disk-space.
    (5) Check if the CDR Respository Manager service is running on the Publisher. If not, start the CDR Repository Manager service.
    (6) On the Publisher, check the 'preserve' and 'destinationX' (X can be 1, 2 or 3) directories for CDR flat files. For example: if transfer of CDR files to billing server is broken from Jan 6th, then use the following commands:
    file list activelog /cm/cdr_repository/preserve/20110106
    file list activelog /cm/cdr_repository/destination1/20110106
      (if multiple billing servers are configuration, the location will be similar to above, but the corresponding directories will be named destination2, destination3). This location contains symbolic links to files under preserve. CDR Repository Manager service uses these soft-links to determine what files need to be transfered to billing server.
    If you don't observe files in either the 'preserve' or the 'destinationX' locations for the specific date, then it means that problem does not reside on the Publisher. Either the CDR records were not generated by the server that handled the call or it could mean that CDR Agent service on that server could not transfer flat files to the Publisher. Was the 'CDR Enabled Flag is enabled in CallManager service' enabled on that particular date ? Is the CDR Agent service running on the node that handled the call ?
    If you observe files in the 'preserve' directory for the specific date, try restarting the CDR Repository Manager service on the Publisher. If the file transfer to the billing server does not commence, then set the trace level for the CDR Repository Manager service to Debug, wait 10 minutes, download CDR Repository Manager logs via RTMT and engage Cisco-TAC for further troubleshooting.
