No costing Sheets But activity types

One of my client is implementing overhead costs without using costing sheets instead they are using activity types Can any body could brief me how this could be possible?

The costing formula in the workcenter whould have LABOH use the same field (LABOR HOURS) as LAB uses.
In transaction OP54 my labor formula (SAP007 in the work center) Is:
SAP_03 * SAP_09 / SAP_08   which means:
Labor * Operation quantity / Base quantity
I use the same formula for overhead -  so that it uses labor hours
this means that a confiramtion of labor hours will supply the labor hours for OH calculation

    Hi friend,
    Order confirmation will be done for order operations.While doing confirmation we post the actual work done by the repective work center and respective activity type assigned to the same workcenter.
    But these activity types are assigned to cost center for cost calculation.confirming the respective operation in maintenance order through workcenters gives the report of planned work and actual work done by the respective workcenter.
    We cannot confirm the operation using costcenter and activity type directly through transaction IW41.
    If you want to develop new confirmation screen and making confirmation of the respective order operation with only costcenter and activity type fields, you can do it .

  • IW41 using HR data (cost centre and activity type)

    Hi all,
    Does anyone know the steps required to make IW41 determine the Cost Centre and Activity Type from the HR master?
    We can change the Activity Type by user-exit CONFPM04, but not the Cost Centre.

    Hi Pete,
    Which cost center field are you using? SKOSTL (sender cost center) should be changeable in export structure AFRUD_EXP. It is this field that is written to the AFRU table (not KOSTL). I did a quick check through debug and it looks possible to set a value in the exit that gets written to AFRU-SKOSTL.

    Hi,
    There are two ways .
    If you wish to use the cost center number for any other cost center , then you need to delete the cost center by KS04 & you need to mention the future period for which the same should deleted, normally, starting would be 1st day of next year to 31.12.9999
    Keep in mind, cost center can only be deleted , if no data (Actual/Plan/reversal) is posted in it. You may do it , before starting next year's budget processing.
    If you wish to just block the same , lock Actual primary/Secondary & Plan primary/Secondary in the control tab.

    <b>Cost Center:</b>A cost centers is an organizational unit within a controlling area that represents a clearly delimited area of responsibility where costs are monitored against a budget.
    Cost centers represent areas of responsibility (management areas) that generate and influence costs.
    Cost centers are the locations at which the costs are incurred
    <b>Activity types</b> describe activities produced by a cost center. They are measured in units of time or quantity. Activity quantities are valuated using a price.
    For example: the maintenance department provides maintenance service at a labor hourly rate of SAR 2000 or USD 1000.
    When the activities produced by a cost center are used by other cost centers, orders or projects, this means that the resources of the sending cost center are being used by the receiver objects.
    By recording the planned and actual quantities consumed, you reallocate cost incurred on the sender into the receivers.
    Activity Types can be grouped to facilitate reporting and cost allocation.

    Please note this can be done.
    Go to Edit Cost Center
    Goto Edit, Analysis Period.
    Create a new validity period say today until 3112999
    Change the data you want and save.
    When you go into the CC again it will show two validity periods.

      You can defined a activity type to a cost centre category not a particular cost centre.
      Suppose you have one activity 99xxxx you can defined it to cost centres cat "P" for prod
      you can defined it in KL01 activity master creation.
      If you want to assign one specific activity to be used for a particular cost centre then creat the cost centre under spl cat and creat master data for activity type for that cat.

  • Grouping cost elements to Activity types?

    Hi friends,
    We created Machine hours activity & Labor hour activity in production cost centers for charging to production orders.
    We are able to see in cost center report the over/under adsorption for that cost center.
    Since there are many primary cost elements making up these activity costs and since many activities are done at cost center, we are not able to find out what is Planned / Actual cost per each activity.
    For the above problem, Is the any feature by which we can combine primary cost elements for that cost center under particular activity type?

  • Cost sheet without activity(Product costing)

    Hi,
    In our company code all earlier created cost sheets have activities, which are assigned in cost element group.  And in base of the cost sheet, this cost element group has been assigned.
    Now in the new process, for which the cost sheet to be prepared, there are only overheads and no activities.
    Is it necessary to create cost element group?
    Is it necessary to assign the cost element group in Base?
    Any activity to be created by assigning zero value in KP26 for routing purpose?
    Please suggest.

    Yes. You need to assign the cost element group where the base cost shall be available to calculate the surcharge on the basis of overhead  percentages.
    Activities shall not be found in Costing sheet. It is assigned in work center and KP26, you enter the planned prices. That is separate. In costing sheet you need to define overhead percentages.

    if you want to run an assessment of cost centers to CO-PA, you should create and run a cycle in KEU5.

    I have gone to this particular transaction code, I have given period from
    1 to 12 and fil year 2007
    and given test run,
    and given Detal list
    its asking me the cycle , and date
    where i  there is no cycle being defined and date given as 22.02.2008
    Its throughing the error msg  cycle has not been created.

  • Change of Allocation Cost element in Activity type during Fiscal year

    Hi,
    An activity type was planned on a cost center in KP26 with a wrong cost element. Then actual activity allocations were posted with this acitivity type. Now I have reversed all actual allocations on this cost center with this activity type and keep trying to delete the plan line item in KP26 to be able to change the cost element.
    Unfortunatelly the deletion is not succesful. I get the Message no. K8098:
    "Costs already posted under cost element 12345. No deletion possible
    Procedure
    First reverse the posted record under cost element 12345."
    I have reversed the allocations. The Balance on the cost center is 0. However the reversal seems not to be sufficient.
    Do you have any idea what needs to be done to be able to delete the plan line item in KP26?

    Follow this note it may be helpful. I guess you need to delete the records from table before doing anything else.

    pls tell me without taking activity type costing can we calculate product cost? is it possible through Overhead costing to  calculate product cost?
    or if we taken quantity base costing how we calculate each product cost?

    Without Activity type you cannot calculate Operation cost. It is not good practice. Why you want to do like this. Please explain.
    I think Over head cost can be calculated without operation cost.

  • CO Cost apportionment and cost allocation (on activity type)

    I have created cycles and allocated costs to cost centers on basis of activity types. I have used TCode KP26 for the actual costs. Same way, i created SKFs and cycles for the cost apportionment for actual costs.
    Now i want to run these allocation cycles and cost apportionment for planned values... Is it possible in SAP, if yes, please let me know how these cycles will created and executed for planned costs.

       Probably you want to allocate plan values through Assessment cycle. Pl process as per steps below :
       a) Creat Assessment Cost Element Cat 42 in T.Cd KA01
      b)  Plan Expenses under primar cost element in KP26
       c) Plan Activity qty in KP06
      d) Plan SKF in KP46
       d) Creat Plan Assessment cycle in KSU7. While creating your tracing factor Receiver rule select as per your requirement
      e) Execute plan assessment cycle T.code KSUB
         Revert back for any help

  • Bringing the actual cost (splitting among activity type) using 0co_om_cca data sources

    Hi expert,
    I'm using the data source 0co_om_cca_9 to bring the cost center data but the actual data is not being split per fixed and variable cost.
    I've checked with CO team and the process to split the cost happens in the end of the month and it record the data with value type '3' in the covp table but the standard data source 0co_om_cca_9 just get the data with value type '4'.
    Does someone know a standard datasource to bring the data with value type 3 from covp?

  • Activity type in time sheet

    Hi all,
    In PS we donu2019t capture any cost. In such case, While entering timesheet, the system through an error message, to enter sender Activity type and it is not allowing to enter timesheet.
    Now, what should be done to skip entering activity type and enter timesheet without entering activity type?
    I guess it is controlled through work center, by not maintaining costing tab, but the system does not allow to save the work center without entering the cost center under costing tab.
    Please suggest, in entering time sheet without activity type

    Hi,
    Go to --> SPRO --> Cross Application Components --> Time Sheet --> Settings for all User Interfaces --> Time Recording --> Choose Fields -->Data Entry section --> Activity types
    Double click and in reference to data entry profiles we can restrict the entry for the activity type whether it is required / Display / Hide / Input.
    Check and confirm whether the problem is solved
