No Notification Upon PR Approval

Dear All,
I wanted to make the PR approval workflow such that, after a PR is approved, no notification is sent at all.
I am using the BOR Object BUS2009, Method INFORELEASEEFFECTED. However this method couldn't be processed as background task.
Thus, I changed to the method SingleReleaseNoDialg which could be processed as background task. However, I am getting the error "Release outside field of responsibility". And I just found out that this method has been obsolete.
Can anyone suggest what I could do to avoid any work item being created after approval?

Hi Arghadip,
I am using the standard PR workflow and did not include any notification step. However, a work item is created upon release of PR by default by the BUS 2009 Object Method InfoReleaseEffected where it is a dialog method. I think it is this property that created the work item in the initiator's inbox.
Is there any way to disable this?

Approval Notification getting auto approved.

Oracle Gurus,
I am stuck with this workflow and need you urgent help. Below is the problem description:
I have created a custom workflow to send notification to certain level of approvers for there approval. Attached is the screenshot of the workflow. Let us say there are 5 approvers: MGR1 -> MG2 -> MGR3 -> MGR4 -> MGR5
When the workflow is invoked the notification goes to MGR1 correctly, when MGR1 approves it goes to MGR2 notification gets auto-approved (skips MGR2) and goes to MGR3. When MGR3 approves it goes to MGR4 and gets auto approved as before and goes to MGR5.
It's skipping alternative approvers by auto approving the notification!!! Any idea as to why? The notification's "On Revist" property is set to "Loop".
Any kind of assistance is greatly appreciated.

This is related to either your setup or an extension. There must be a hole in your logic if you are using an extension. If not, your Workflow may be setup to do "Go One Stop, then Go Directly." This flow will check for an approver, if it does not exists at the immediate supervisor level, it will autoapprove the Expense report and then flow directly to AP.

GL Journal approval- Send notification to multiple approver

I want to send GL journal approval notification to multiple approver, once any of the approver approves the journal it should be removed from worklist of all approver. How can we acheive this?

What i am sure of is that you can have specific groups for your journal approval and each of the groups can have specific approvers.
When i say the above line, i mean that you can have groups like Treasury, Finance and Payroll and each of them have their desiganated approvers.
Then the level of journal preparer who can also fall to a specific group.
Once the journal preparer belonging to a specific group prepares a journal, it will route to the journal approver belonging to the specific group.
I am not sure about whether you can create approval groups and also if you send the journal for approver to multiple approver, than how the other approver will come to know that the journal is approved or rejected or whether has the other person taken any action - it will create dependencies between the 2 person and hence might create confusion.
So i am not sure about the resolution for your question.
But if the approach suggested by me matches your requirement, i can forward you the document which contains the step you need to do to achieve the functionality,

Workflow notifications in invoice approval workflow

Hi All,
We have a requirement in invoice approval workflow while it sends notifications.
The current workflow is sending notifications to an approver when he has a record both in HR and FND and linked to each other.
But the requirement is WF has to send notification to the approver who will have an employee record only.
If anyone has worked on this requirement earlier please let us know how to achieve this.

WF Notifications are based on roles, you have to modify the role selection portion to handle the case you mention. Likely this is oracle standard code so you might be careful and look for a workaround i.e. duplicate the activity and customize that one.

Email Notification to Resource Approver

Hi All,
I am using following product...
IDM 11g R2 (BP03), SOA 11g
I want to send the Email notification to the Request Approver (my workflow is working fine, resource is getting approved and provisioned properly) I have made all the required settings in SOA for Enabling Email notifications along-with enabling 'RequestNotificationLevel=1' in OIM.
The Requester is getting all the notifications i.e 'Request Created' and 'Request Status Change' notifications.
Its Only That the Approver is not getting any notification. What can be done to send the Notification to the Approver in his mail box (just like being received by requester) so that he knows that some request has been generated for his approval.

Alos if any one can tell what is the default behavior of IDM 11gR2 for email notifications, I mean does it send notifications to the Requester and Approver OOTB like the previous versions of IDM or it is different from its predecessors that it requires exclusively additional configurations / coding / patch for making Email notifications enabled for the Approver? as the Notifications for the Requester are working like a charm without any additional configurations.

Notification create after approval

Hi,
We have a reqirment to create maintenance notification only afer approval,
I am using buisness objet BUS2038 and Created event for triggering the workflow.
It is working fine workitem comes to approver but notification is getting created means approval step does not have any significance , How can I restrict the notification untill it is approved.

Hi BT,
dont know if there is an option of canceling a maintenance notification, if its possible, then let the user create a notification, let the approver get the workitem and once the approver rejects it, the workflow would cancel the maintenance notification (may be some BAPI's exist to do this).
If such a functionality doesnt exist in the business process, then you need to search for a user-exit or enhancement which would trigger a workflow the moment a maintenance notification is saved and would save (commit-the technical term) only if approver approves it.

Hi Rakesh,
- you can create another rule in AME with the same conditions as your main rule.
- Make sure the rule type is For Your Information.
- Create approval groups for the people you want to send the FYI notification to and add these approval groups to the rule (using Post Approval as action type)
- Make sure the order number of your new approval group is higher than the order number of the approval groups in your main rule. This will ensure that the FYI notification goes in the end and not somewhere in the middle.

Adding a hyperlink to the email notification for leave approval

Is it be possible to have a hyperlink in the email notification that goes to the approver ( for a leave ) so that the approver can click on the link and be taken straight to the ESS/ MSS portal to approve/reject the leave request?

Basically you can modify the standard task too. Of course it is not recommended, but maybe it is not that bad, if you only need to modify the work item text (and the variables are already available in the container, so you don't need to do any additional bidnings and container elements (or do you?)).
Other options is that you take a copy of TS12300097 and a copy of the leave request worfklow template, and then do the changes to these copies. Then you just need to remember to also check the SPRO settings, that your copy of workflow is started instead of the standard workflow.

You can not re-send the email.
However, the user can simply go to the workflow notifications screen.
Purchasing Superuser > Notifications summary.
The workflow notification will still be there. You can open it and approve the PO.

Forwarding the appraval, send notification to new approver - Oracle Waveset

Hi,
I am using Oracle Waveset.
As per customer requirement, I have 3 retries every after 3,3,2 days for sending E-mail notifications in case of pending approval. It works fine.
In between, if approval workItem is forwarded to another idm user using 'Forward' button, workitem gets created for the new approver BUT it remains in the new approver's approval list till the time out.
As soon as the time out is reached, for the next retry workitem vanishes for the new approver and gets created for orginial approver again .
How to address this issue.

CUP e-mail notifications + submit and approve requests

I configured the workflows in CUP and now im trying to configure the email notifications . The CAD's that I've set are:
1. Request Petitioner
2. Internal Control
3. Security
and the approver determinator for each stage are:
1. Petitioner
2. Internal Control
3. Security
So, I need to know two thinks:
1. Could the person who submits a request, send it and approve with a single mouse click? given that the same person must submit a request and then approve it, would it be possible to perform both actions at once?
2. I would like to set e-mail notifications to the appropiate role owner, it 's possible? The problem is that we don´t set the role owners like approvers determinator.

Hi Marta,
In answer to question #1: You could possibly achieve this by changing your workflow but I do not think you want to do so. You would have to guarantee that submission was always done by those that approve the first stage in you workflow.
Question #2: I am not sure I understand what you would like to do. From what you state, I am assuming the Role approvers are stored in the Role file (CUP >> Configuration Tab >> Roles >> Search Roles/Create Roles) and not in a CAD. Are you looking to personalize the email for each role approver so he/she knows exactly which of his/her roles are in the request to approve from the email notification?

HI ,
You create one Z- Report and Write the following logic in it :-
1. Give a Job Name as selection selection parameter on the selection screen.
2. Select all those records from the Table TBTCO where JOBNAME = selection screen job name and SDLSTRTDT - sy-datum and STATUS = 'A'.
This will return you with all those jobs which were scheduled and canceled on current date. Status 'A' Means Canceled jobs.
3. Now you use FM 'EFG_GEN_SEND_EMAIL' to send a notification to the required user as per your requirement.
4. Now Enter all the JOb name which you want to monitor and save one varient for it
5. Now go to SM36 and Schedule this Z-Report with the created variant and the frequency you want.
This will Satisfy your requirement.
