No phone service yet again!!

#1: Reported landline problems 2nd time this month.  A few weeks ago the repair guy told us that he would put in an order for a new cable for my neighborhood.  Got a good laugh out of that.  Requests for a new cable have been going on for about 15 years!  I live in a rural neighborhood where the nearby city of Syracuse had been making news that Verizon refuses to upgrade to FIOS in lower income and rural areas.  i guess that means my neighborhood!  Not unsual to go with out the phone for a month at a time here.  #2:  If you call to report a problem, you can never get a human and it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R.  #3:  Report a problem here on Verizon website, ok, but if you try to contact Verizon about why you are paying for a service that you are not receiving, you will get the runaround from site to site with no emailing to anybody who might be able to help available. And it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R.  #4:  I am paying for a service I don't receive!!!

What I ended up doing is reporting 15 years of bad service to the FCC.  When Verizon called me and said that service must be bad if I reported it to the FCC, I replied that I had tried to report it many times to the FCC, but reporting on a phone that doesn't work or using dial-up internet, with a phone connection that doesn't work, would not allow me to report to the FCC in a timely manner.  Now I have internet wireless (with another comapny) and can take care of business on line much easier and reporting Verizon to the FCC took about 3 minutes.  Verizon did come out and replace a part of our underground cable lines.  A supervisor from Verizon called and asked if I was satisfied, I told him that we shall see, let's see what happens the next time it rains, as the whole cable was not replaced.  I was kinda joking.  The joke was on me.  I said that to the supervisor on Friday, today is Monday and after heavy rains, my phone is not working again!

  • My iPhone 5 crackles and pops loudly during calls (with and without speaker phone.)  I'm experiencing this same same issue on my third iPhone.  Is this a common problem?  Short of getting the phone replaced (yet again!) is there a solution?

My iPhone 5 frequently crackles and pops loudly during calls (while using speaker phone, as well as not using speaker phone.)  After being inspected by techs at the Genius Bar, my phone has been replaced twice; thus, I am currently on my third iPhone 5.  Incredibly, I am, yet again, experiencing the exact same issue. Short of getting my fourth iPhone, is anyone aware of a solution?

if it's the exact same issue, either it's a problem with your service or with your software if you're restoring from a backup each time. it's pretty darn near impossible for 3 phones to have the same exact hardware issue, so that's unlikely. is this an at&t iphone? if so, are you continuing to use the same sim card? if so, get a new one and try that out. if that's not the issue, restore the phone as new and make a few phone calls. if the issue's gone away, there's something wrong with your backup

  • Failed service yet again

And so it goes on. Yet another weekend where I pay to see live streams of these NRL games and then not only does it fail it takes up hours of my time. One day there will be a company who just does the job and then no one will do business with these clowns that have a monopoly and don't have to put any resources into making it work. Dreaming of that day...

Can you tell me what sort of package you are using - is it DSL / DSL 2+/ cable? What isn't working?

  • How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance

How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance downloading it again, especially because (believe it or not) I added it to my phone because that's precisely where I wanted it!! Any help much appreciated

FYI I had to put this link into firefox to reply - because **** back safari just wouldn't register my clicks to any of the links on the post... Despite reloadeing and even restarting my computer. Totally annoying and a massive pain in the ***.
But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap.

  • NO PHONE SERVICE AGAIN!

I have lived at the same address for 14 years.  The main telephone box for my address is a block away and has an extensive history of getting water in it from storms.
I have talked with many telephone service people who come out and tell me about it. They have all said that it is very difficult to find a good "pair".  Many have told me that the box needs to be REPLACED.  My phone has lost dial tone 3 times this past month.  So don't you know that with the hurricane, once again I have lost phone service and only have very sporadic internet.
I am a older, disabled woman who lives by herself. I have no cell phone, no car and I have been sick.
I finally was able to get online to make a repair order on 10/31....and no one will be out until 11/7.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!  ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE OUT FOR REPAIR A WEEK AND 1/2 BEFORE (WHICH I HAD WAITED A WEEK FOR!)
As you can imagine....I am really hating Verizon about now.
Do NOT send another tech out here that tells me he can't find "a pair".....REPLACE THE DARN BOX!
    REALLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

  • No phone service

I am a customer who receives your internet for 34.99 and lifeline landline service.
I chose lifeline service for the landline rather than my lifeline cell as I was told I can only have 1 according to the Govt.regulations. I was also told I had to have the land line to keep your internet on.  So I chose to have the landline than the safe link govt. issued cell phone.
Did you know your competitors do not need a land line to access the internet so I’m wondering if this is true or needed.
Now here is my frustrating issue, for a while I have been having very bad interrupted internet load and speed for the last few months.  Been told to just shut off and on and I had someone come to my house on one occasion last month who left for 3 hours and I had to call Verizon to find the worker and dispatch. They located him and her so I  got a call back from them and  finally was told to just plug my internet back on, and that was it. It worked for a little while. Then off and on again.
But since the 14th of July to my knowledge I have had no PHONE service now. NONE. No One can reach me either.  I honestly find this unnaceptable, Verizon.  I pay my bills on time and would like to just get answers and some service . I have been patient up to this point . I am also a customer who does not mind to pay more if it mean more better service.
I have made numerous calls ,been disconnected after long wait times,  bounced from one person to another ,a number of times people came to my house and my building to fix the problem.
On a number of times I have dealt with inconsistencies like dates made when they actually come a day EARLY when I am not there. I also have made appointments and also been told they don’t need to come to my house anymore so when I am not there they come another day and say an excuse that I wasn’t home when I was told I didn’t need to be since the issue is not in my house and told it is supposedly in 1 of the boxes downstairs.
I have had other situations where someone comes out to the building downstairs a number of times and says they fixed it and I go home to make a call and the phone goes dead and the problem starts all over again.
The last time someone came out Tuesday the 29th of July (and I was sure to be home that Monday also in case they came a day before as they are known to do so) ; they told me that no none is downstairs to open the door to another box my building super seems to be in charge of and needs a key.
Shouldn’t Verizon keep such keys ???
Now I nor anyone can reach the building super so that leaves me still with no service as a women approaching elderly age of 60 years.I have no home phone in case of emergencies and my internet wifi not working properly and overages on my cell phone piling up  when I use the internet  on my cell and they are restricting data due to over the limit. What am I to do now with you guys??
I WAS told by your company I need this phone line to keep my( slow) internet on.  I get only2 mbps in my area and still cant get Fios in my building where there are people in my block who I was told have already .
I have spoken to your competitor Time Warner and they say they don’t even need to get in a box and they do everything through a modem if this is true I might need to go to another company.
I feel like Verizon is like the old ages. Why? Is there not anything your company can do to progress this situation at this point? I thought you guys where the leading company. I will try other means of getting this complaint out if you guys do not handle this or if I am contacting the wrong dept here and or do not get a reply ( not an automated or outourced either please.)
Please direct me to who can as I will keep looking.  The better buisness bureau fcc news can be somewhere to go if you guys cant honestly help me in which i really hope you can. I also know that if it was you guys going through all this runaround you would be just as frustrated as i am .
    I am a dissapointed customer .

  • Jabber for iPhone & iPad too long to connect to "Phone Services"

    Hello,
Has anybody ever experienced delay issues with Jabber for iPhone and/or iPad to connect to "Phone Services"?
In my case, the service does connect but it can take about 1 minute. Some times it can be faster but some others it can take a while to make the service available.
    Regards,

You've hit the nail on the head with your last sentence, though to me a month (and then another) to wait for a new line is nothing - I am on my fifth order with BT. They lost the first three, then tried charging me an arm and a leg in excess charges for the fourth. I am trying again, this time with a total package to see if they are a bit more useful when they actually know I'm not going to switch to another provider - fingers crossed.
If they do come back with massive excess charges again though this time I've done my homework. I now know the measurements between my property and the pole as well as the BT price list they use to calculate the charges. I've also worked out a cheaper route than the one they were suggesting - Ofcom say they should offer the cheapest route and the opportunity for the customer to do some of their own work but with me they didn't do either. They also didn't consider that we don't have reliable mobile signal here. They also didn't provide me with any details of how they'd come to that figure and just demanded it. I've had lots of advice from DEFRA, the Department for Business, Innopvation and Skills, Ofcom and ex-Openreach planners and should be able to get a line under the USO. I have a horrible feeling that I've done all this homework now though and they'll just come out and do it without demanding the excess, but if they do I am at least ready this time.

  • Home Phone Service via Verizon Wireless needs some SERIOUS rethinking!

Has anyone else signed up for home phone service over Verizon Wireless?
Here in LA, they offered a $19.99/month deal using the wireless service - a box provides the service, and you plug your home phone in. The service is adequate, but somebody forgot to think about how home phones work. I tried to get my billing set up through my bank, and after getting no notice for three weeks, I got a message in my email box that my bill was delinquent, and I owed a late fee. I had tried to set up the billing via My Verizon, but could never get a password to work. I finally got a phone number to call, and they sent me a new password via text message - to a home phone with no text capabilities. After hearing and seeing nothing for another two weeks, I called again, and they told me they'd sent the message. I had to remind them that this was a home phone - no texts. So they offered to send me a letter with a new password, within 7-10 ten days. It arrived two weeks later, and didn't work. Each of these phone calls took about an hour, and I still didn't have a connection.
I put the bills (now up to two delinquent cycles) on my credit card, just to bring thins current, and got one more password. This time I called BEFORE trying it, and with the assistance of a more determined tech, got an ID and password combination to work. I can now see my bill. I still don't know if the autopay will work, and I have no idea if there's any way to get a notice that the bill wasn't paid.
I cancelled my AT&T service because of its cost, but at least its billing worked. Verizon has some serious rethinking to do about how it's billing system works for home users. And they didn't lock me into billing hell for two years.
The topper is, today, I got a notice from Verizon that I've been delinquent in returning a refurbished instrument I never received, billed to a phone number I don't have. And of course there's no phone number to call to straighten it out.

        Hello KeyGroupGJ!
Wow, Im sorry for all the issues you have had with the Home Phone Connect service! I'd really like to assist you. You mentioned that there is no number to call to get this straightened out. • Phone service disconnected

2/1/2013 After a long battle to get my phone service back after being ported out to Metro PCS.  I received a bill from Verizon for $135.11 , I called Verizon to make sure the amount was correct since I did not have phone service from 12/3/2013 to 12/30/2013.  Representative stated that I did not have a balance on my account.  So I received another bill from Verizon and it stated it was the final notice. I called Verizon again twice checked on the automated line as well as with a representative, checked on line and was told again that I did not have a balance and to disregard the bill.  Well on 2/1/2014 my service was disconnected.  I contacted Verizon right away and ended up with a Mrs Davis who told me she would look into it, she called me the next day stating that she was still working on it . It has been a week and I have received another bill for services previous balance of $135.11  and new charges for 1/28 to 2/27. I do not have a problem paying the bill, I just want to make sure that I was not charged for the time I did not have services. No one is willing to give me information regarding that balance.

  • No Phone Service - Internet and TV Work

It's been 36 hours now and my FiOS Phone Service is still not working.  I called customer service more times than I can count and they haven't been able to do anything.  Nor have they called back when they promised to.  I finally got a tehcnician out here to make a service call.
He was here for 4 1/2 hours.  The reason he was here for so long was because he had to wait for his service calls to his office to be answered.  He spent at least 3 hours on hold for his tech support.  He replaced all of the FiOS equipment in our house as instructed by the techs he was dealing with, and our phone still doesn't work.  He finally said there was no point in his staying here and left.
I'm now on hold with tech support, again.  They've given me plenty of appologies, but no answers.
I left Comcast a year ago because Verizon FiOS was cheaper and supposed to be superior.  It may be cheaper, but it is definitely not better.  In 7 years with Comcast, I never lost my phone service.  Not once.  When I left Comcast, the "Retention Specialist" said "You'll be back."  It looks like he was right.  I'm voiding the year I have left on my contract with Verizon for their failure to provide service and returning to Comcast as soon as they can get me connected.

  • No phone service, etc,+++

We have not had phone service since the storm.  One TV can only be used with the + button on the remote (No program Name) another TV has no sound at times and other times the show is in another language.  We experienced no TV, internet and phone service last month for two weekends up until Wednesday.  I was not pleased with the customer service then.  When we tried  to call on a cell phone we got no answer or was put on hold for a long period of time.  We had to get someone else to report our problem for us.   Here we are again this time no phone since Saturday,  etc. I tried to contact Verizon online but no luck.   It is very very very frustrating!!!!!

  • PHONE SERVICE FOR SPECIAL NEED CUSTOMER - YOU NEVER SHOWED????

We have been able to maintain my brother-in-law in an independent setting for most of his 59 years of life. Beyond his diabetes, cognitive delays and heart disease, he also struggles with the residual effects of schizophrenia and an awareness that he his different from other people. Recently, we had to move him into a new apartment and he needed land line phone service. We were not thrilled that we would have to wait more than 3-weeks to get an appointment - even after we explained he has medical needs - but we put as many supports as we could around him (needless to say, he forgets to charge his cell  phone, but the walkie-talkies worked ok).
THEN the day of our appointment arrives - AND NO VERIZON??? We waited from1-5pm, taking time off work... and no technician showed. When we called to ask the status of our appointment, we were told that the appointment was on the computer but no notes as to why  no one came. We were told we could Verizon could come the net day (which would be today , as I write) but it would be any time between 8am-5pm.
Why is this ok? Where is the customer service, the care? Why do I now have to wait from 8-5 for another technician - when we should ahve been put first on someone's list? I know we are not getting FIOS but...
I am venting here because there seems to be no customer concern hotline or email and I do not think this should get lost in the shuffle. Phone service for my brother-in-law is essential and vital to his wellbeing and abilitty to continue to function safely within the community. How can I recommend and respect your commitment to servicing persons with disabilities and special needs if this is my experiences with Verizon?

I'm sorry you are having difficulty. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

No one showed again today... When I called this afteroon to follow up if anyone was going to show - I was told, "No one is coming - Can't get you another appointment until the 23rd - and that's expedited" WHAT???? But my appointment was for YESTERDAY??? YOU DIDN'T SHOW UP. Why do I need a new 'expedited' appointment? AND, where was my phone call that you were NOT coming?
Verizon - please... explain this customer careappraoch? especially for someone that needs the phone service for his safety and well being. We ONLY needed the phone turned on - This is appalling and should NEVER have happened.
    Shame on you, Verizon.

  • No phone service from April 2 to April 14?

Could someone from Verizon please email me?  I have emailed a message along with my repair requests and am getting the standard reply back.  I reported no service a few weeks ago, the tech laid a temporary line (at least I think it was supposed to be temporary) on the ground for a fast repair (?)  The line was broken on the evening of April 2 when there was a fire at a nearby house.  The firetrucks ran over the line I think and destroyed it.   I have had no phone service since that evening and was out of town all last week for medical reason and could not receive my messages.   I need my phone for medical reasons right now and have no service!! I can not make or receive calls and have not been able to since April 2 and for more than a week in March.  Twice I reported Verizon to the FCC last year.  I recieved a letter from {edited for privacy} of the Verizon Executive Relations Team in September of 2014, informing me that my complaint had been closed out.   It was not and I wrote {edited for privacy} and the FCC a letter saying so.  I have heard nothing back from Verizon on this matter and am extremely dissatsfied with Verizon.  I live in a rural area and am wondering if it is not economicably favorable for Verizon to take care of their customers here?  My neighbors and I certainly do not get realiable service from Verizon, yet we pay our bill!!

  • No phone service for more than six weeks !!! Portl...

My phone edited by mod stopped working on the evening of Feb. 24th. I reported the problem the next morning and was told that it would be fixed within three days. The problem turned out to be at the local exchange and new cabling was required to resolve the problem. This required local traffic control which was scheduled to be in place on March 10th. March 10th came and went and I was told that the engineers installing the cable were not updating the engineers who were supposed to configure the phone service once the new cable was in place. At no point was I given an estimate of when I might expect my service might be restored. I finally got an update on March 27th which said the traffic control would be in place on March 31st to install the required cabling. A further update said my phone should be working on April 2nd. On April 6th with my phone still not working I received an update saying that the engineers who going to install the cabling required traffic lights which weren't available until this coming Saturday, April 11th. Now I'm hoping against hope that the cabling might be installed this Saturday and I might receive an update of when I can expect my phone to be working again. Then I can hope that that update might actually be acurate and I might actually have phone service. I really have a hard time seeing why in over six weeks time no one at BT can give me an accurate estimate of when my phone service can be restored. I have no luck at all getting any useful information by calling BT on the usual line (0800 800 151) since all I'm told is that my problem will be updated soon. Any help or actual, useful information would be very much appreciated. Failing that, I guess I have to wait until week 8 of no service and try my luck with the communications ombudsman.
