Office 2010 problem

Hi there everyone.
Recently my laptop was not functioning well, the Windows Store are not responsive also all the Windows Apps, not to mention my Microsoft Office was faulty here and there. I tried the Refresh function, but it didn't work, so I went and reset my laptop to
default settings and every problem was solved, or so I thought. I tried looking for Microsoft Word, but there is only Microsoft Office activation page. It asked for my product key, but when I entered my product key, it says that what I entered is not a Microsoft
Office product key. Help me, I really need to get my Office working for my thesis :(

This area is only for OS activation issues, but I can tell you that the product key for Windows is different than that for your Office install.  The one for your Office install is likely on the CD holder that you received with your purchase.  For
more help you should post your question in the
Office 2010 forum.
And just in case of dire emergency, Open Office is a free alternative that can even read docx files.  Just sayin'

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro & Office 2010 problem

    So.
We have a machine with Windows 7, Office 2010 Home and Business and Adobe Acrobat X Pro
Earlier everthing was ok, but now we have a small problem.
The PDFMaker don't work with Word. The Add-on is disabled and when I try to enable nothing happends. In Excel and PowerPoint it works.
I've tried to repair Adobe. Tried to uninstall the PDFMaker part and reinstall. Tried to repair Office. Also restarted the computer. No difference.
Still working in Excel and PowerPoint, but in Word the PDFMaker isn't available.
    What can I try now?
And of course, we use it mostly with Word.

    Hi "McBack",
You can try deleting the entry for PDFMaker in the disabled items @ “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Resiliency\DisabledItems". The entry corresponding to the PDFMaker can be checked via double-clicking the individual list items under “Disabled Items” hive and checking for the string that reflects the location of PDFMaker COM-Add-In, say “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll”.

So you have Office Home and Student 2010 on that model.
There may be a repair option for that preinstalled version. Try this.

When I click on an email address embedded in a web page, a page would open in my email program with this address in the "To" line. I recently installed Microsoft Office 2010 and now when I click on an email address nothing happens. I am not sure if this is due to Office 2010 or a Firefox problem. I use a PC with Vista.

In office 2007 in the tables are correct.
Someone can help me solve this problem?

The solution referenced in your post does not actually workas far as I can tell... at least for LV2011 and Office2010 on Win7

  • Problem opening documents from SharePoint (2013) libraries with Office 2010 and 2013 components installed

    Hi
I've been encountering the problem of Office files failing to open from SharePoint 2013 libraries with the prefix of 'ms-excel:ofv|u|' etc. in the url. Following the
helpful questions and answers in the forum, I've identified the likely cause as the fact that my main Office installation is 2010, but I also have installed OneDrive for Business 2013 (which I need in order to sync document libraries with my local drive).
The solution I've seen suggested elsewhere of deactivating the SharePoint integration of Office 2013 components fails for two reasons: there is no way (or at least, I can't find one) of deactivating SharePoint integration probably because, deactivating
SharePoint integration would likely stop the syncing of libraries/folders.
One thing that I have noticed in my case that I've not seen mentioned elsewhere is that if I right-click a document and select 'open in new tab/window' the required
document opens directly in the relevant office package. I don't know if this is a useful observation, but it seems to be new information.
My question is, is there a way I can continue to sync libraries and open Office documents directly in Office 2010? My thoughts are possible changes to registry settings
(which I can do, but don't know enough to find the correct ones myself) or (re)installation of software in some appropriate order to leave the correct settings.
I have 'repaired' my Office 2010 installation without any observed affect on behavior.
    Thanks
    Ray
(I've just seen a suggestion that Office 2010 SP2 may fix this issue. I've requested to test this, but whilst this may fix my problem, rolling it out to
other users may be more problematic. In the meantime, other suggestions of solutions are welcome)

    Hi,
According to your description, it is a good way to do a test about office 2010 SP2, here is an article about this issue- limitations of using the OneDrive for Business sync app with Office 2010 applications , it may help you.

  • Adobe Acrobat X incompatible with Office 2010 x64! Along with other Problems I found!

I AM VERY ANGRY AS WELL AS LOSING IT BIG TIME!!! MADDNESS!!!!
Can someone FROM ADOBE FIX THESE PROBLEMS? CAN AN UPDATE OR FIX SOLVE OUR SITUATION WITH ACROBAT X?
First off, I cannot see the plugin appear in the Office ribbon, in ANY office program. I tried everything Adobe told me to do. From trying to locate the adding through the list of disabled add-ins (which is not displayed), or the command prompts option which did not work either.
Second of all, I have this message of "Missing PDFMaker files", then after reinstalling Adobe 10 times, as well as reinstalling office 2010 x64 Bit 26 times, reformatting Windows "7" Ultimate x64 Bit 5 times, I still had no results.
Third, yet not least, the other problem is that the option to create blank PDFs no longer exists. In addition, I am unable to edit existing PDFs, even if they do not have security on them. I want a word processing feature added to Acrobat!
Can someone fix ANY of these problems, or may Adobe create an update to FIX ALL of these problems, OR AM I GOING TO DROP ACROBAT IN FAVOUR OF ANOTHER COMPANY?
I NEED HELP SOON!!!! NO TIME TO DO THIS ON MY OWN!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Series of events:
Purchased Windows 7 PC. 64 Bit OS
    Installed MS Office 2003
    Installed Acrobat 8.0.
While I did not have the complete functionality of converting Office documents to pdf's,
I could print documents and emails to pdfs.
I then upgraded my Acrobat to X. Still could print to pdf, but not do conversions.
I then upgraded to Office 2010, 64 bit. After upgrading to Office 2010, I cannot print,or convert documents to pdf using Acrobat X.
I cannot convert, or print e-mails to Pdf's in Outlook 2011. I cannot print or convert Word documents or Excel spreadsheets to to pdf's.
The only thing i can do is "Save As" a Word document into a pdf. I cannot use Acrobat X in Excel or Outlook at all.
Is there a solution to this problem?

  • Synch problems after upgrade from Office 2010 Beta

I updated from the beta version of Office 2010 to the pro version. Now I can not synch my calendar. I get the message "no supported calendar application can be found" on the info page of my device in Itunes (seems it can not find Outlook 2010), even though it did find my contacts in Outlook and continues to synch those without a problem. it appears others have had some version of this problem. I followed the steps outlined to delete all the itunes and related programs in a specific order and then reinstall, no joy. any body have a clue what I should chase next?

    Hi Daniel,
What OAT tool are you using? Is it the Office Customization Tool?
Where did you get the "Do not create new ost file during Migration" option in the tool? As far as I know, OST file cannot be migrated. If you were able to use the old OST file, Outlook will prompt that it
    doesn't match the server mailbox.
The ForceOSTPath applies only to new profile, it can't be used to force Outlook to use the old OST file.

  • Problem with Essbase add-in 9.2.1 and office 2010.

    Hi all,
we have a problem with Essbase add in 9.2.1 and office 2010.
Every time when a user opens Excel a new (additionally) euntry in the ad-on menue appears.
Indeed what happens is, that the add-in is loaded n-times.
At the first start of excel one time, second two times and so on...
    Thtas's very annoying.
Can someone confirm this issue or even better know a workaround.
(A way we have found so far to ease the pain a bit -well only temporary- is to disable the ad-in, close Excel and start it again.
However with every new start of execel the issues begins again.
But that's not a solution you can recommand to the end user.)
    Any help is welcome.
    Thank you in advance!

  • Problems with reinstalling Office 2010 for windows 7

So, I had Office 2010 installed on my PC. Then for some problems with other programs, I had to format my PC. Then, I opened Microsoft Office 2010 to reinstall it, then I inserted the product key I've written on a sheet, and it gave me error: the product
key doesn't exist. So I tried using WindowsKeyFinder, which found another product key - that one didn't work neither. What might the problems be? Thanks for anyone who will answer this question.

    Hi,
Please first make sure whether you've inserted the correct product key. For how to find your Product Key for Office 2010, please refer to this article:
    https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Find-your-Product-Key-for-Office-2010-1e8ef39c-2bd4-4581-a0ae-5cf25ebed489
Also, have you ever made changes to your hardware? If your hardware is substantially different, then it will be considered as a new computer. If this is the case, you might need to
activate your Office 2010 via telephone.
If issue persists, I would suggest you contact Microsoft Custom Service directly for further assistance:

    Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Office 2010 Professional - Problem - Will Not Auto-Open Downloaded Excel 2007 file!

Problem, see title.  If I save excel file and go Microsoft Office 2010 Pro and open file after opening excel it will open file but it will not open when downloaded as I did before I let windows process 51 updates to windows (new computer).  The
error message I get is, "file is not a valid Win32 application".  My OS is Windows 7 Premium.

If none above methods work, then you may try third-party tools such as next software at:-

It supports both .xls and .xlsx file formats. I have used it to recover some Excel files successfully. It provides a free demo version so that you can try

  • Problem deploying Office 2010 via SCCM 2007

    Hello,
I have a problem with deploying Office 2010 to Workstations.
I did exactly as instructed settings: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff404178(v=office.14).aspx
When you release it manually (I tested it) everything went fine but when I let you install via SCCM 2007 workstation, just run setup.exe and processes stuck there and nothing happens.I have no idea why setup.exe. What is wrong any ideas?
(It does not matter who's office: 013,010,07)
    Thanks

Are you using any silent key like setup.exe/s S  or setup/quite etc.. ??

No, should i? Microsoft does not say anything like that...  Name field,
which in this example is named Office 2010 silent installation.
    In the Command line field,
    in this example type setup.exe.
Of course I'll try but I do not suppose this helped ...

  • Office 2010 Installation Problem osetup.dll

While trying to install Office 2010 Pro I receive the following error immediately after running setup.exe "OSETUP.DLL digital signature does not validate or is not present".  I have done several internet searches and see this problem has been
around since Office 2007.  Apparently tons of people have this problem, but very few resolutions all of which do not work for me.  I have tried the following:
Re-downloaded from Microsoft (even tried the x64 version)
    Burned several discs
Tried in 5 different Computers comprising of Vista, XP, and W7
Copied files to network and to local PC
    Ran from command prompt
    Ran as local admin
Created a clean unpatched W7 install - failed
Created a clean unpatched XP wSP2 install - failed
Patched clean install of W7 - failed
I have tried downloading the individual apps from our Volume Licensing website to try and pull the osetup.dll from their file set, this also fails.  At the moment the only thing I can get to work is Office Standard, trying to pull the osetup.dll from
that file set resolves the error but causes the setup.exe app to immediately crash.  I also tried downloading the Office 2010 Pro trial and pull the file from that file set, same crash result not the .dll error.  I can install the trial successfully
though.  I have tried on PC's with Office 2003 installed, no Office installed, Office 2007 installed, nothing works.  PCs off the domain, on the domain, PCs completely off the network that are fresh installs. Again all same results.
Please help as I have run out of ideas.  The install log contains the following: (Certain items removed)
    Verify file signature in "\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL"
    Error:  \ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL is not trusted.
Log level changed from: Standard to: Verbose
Failed to verify file signature from the selected setup controller dll in location "\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL"
\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL digital signature does not validate or is not present.

    Hi,
If we are still unable to install the Office program by clicking the
setup.exe file directly, the osetup.dll in the folder may be corrupted.
You can check if others can download the Office program from the website and install. If they can, you can try to copy a good copy of the
osetup.dll file from them and replace the corrupted one. Then, click the
setup.exe file to install the Office program again.
However, if all the downloaded files from the website cannot be installed, the media might have problems and you need to contact the administrator.
    Best Regards,
    Sally Tang

  • Problems with Microsoft Office 2010

    To whom it may concern:
I work in a school and we use Microsoft office 2010 here. Earlier this week (2) computers seemed to develop the same problem.
All of a sudden the entire Microsoft Office Suite seems to be taking a very very long time to open anything. For example trying to open a word document stored locally on the machine seems to take a while.
And, when using Outlook it seems that opening an attachment (word, excel, etc) seems to take forever. When you give a double click to the attachment, this red bar seems to start running across the top of the pane and it takes on average 1 minute to open
the attachment. This did not happen before and I am wondering if a recent update has anything to do with this issue.
    Please advise.
