Hello,  To me it seems to be an issue with Printhead which is a fixed part in this printer. However, if you have got this printer connected to a Windows PC, then please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from www.hp.com/go/tools If issue still persists, the you might have to call HP Tech Support to get the printer replaced ( if your printer is still in warranty ) Please call HP Tech Support for further assistance.

    Hi,
Use the following link to perform the troubleshooting steps.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01446637&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=2512010&tmp...
If you still recieve the error message after performing the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the document, then try the printhead cleaning from the printer menu.
    Setup Menu--Tools--Clean Printhead
    Setup Menu--Tools--Align Printer.
If none of these help then try this reset....this reset will restore the printer to its original factory settings & will erase all settings on the printer.
Unplug the power chord from the back of the printer while the printer is still ON.
Now press and hold "# & 9" keys on the printer, and connect the power chord while holding down the 2 keys. Wait for approx. 10 seconds and then release the keys.
If the printer powers off automatically, then wait for 10secs. and then turn ON the printer using the Power button on the printer.
    Hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Printhead error message

Error message says printhead not attached or missing? I have already done what the book says - turn machine off and back on - take printhead out and put back in - I have done both these things many times and still get the error message. I did not change anything before this happened (ink etc) I used it for copying yesterday morning then went to use it to scan and the error message came up. Please help!

  • My HP Officejet Pro 6835 gives me a message "There is an error with the print head"

Hi, I'd advise giving HP Support a call, as it's likely you'll require a replacement printer. Can you please let me know how you get on? Thanks, Ciara

When I try to print using my HP Officejet Pro 6835 I get the message "There is a problem with the print head"This printer has barely been used. It worked fine the first 5-15 times it was used. I have gone to HP support page and none of the suggestions works. The printer was new Jan. 30, 2015 and has printed less than 20 copies. The screen indicates turn on and off. Have tried that on numerous occasions. Also tried unplugging and plugging in again. Recently added new ink using HP ink cartridge.

  • Officejet Pro 6835 self-cancels print jobs with more than 3 copies

I am printing 5x7 invitations for a business.  No matter how many copies I request, y brand new HP Officejet Pro 6835 will self-cancel the print job after 3 invitations have printed.  So if I have 30 invites to print, I have to print them in batches of 3.  Tonight I had 150 invites to print - so it is a long envening.  The error displayed on my HP ENVY laptop is that there is an error and can't print (not informative).  The error on the HP printer is that the print job has been cancelled.
The other issue is that I am forced to print the 5x7 invites in landscape mode which is very slow.  Portrait mode would go much faster but for some reason the handshake between Word and the printer will not allow this to happen.  I've tried to custom configure the page set up to be 7x5, but Word will not save the custom configuraiton.
    Please help!

    Hi-
Thank you for the suggestion but unfortuneately the hotfix did not solve the problem.  I am now getting between 2.5 to 3 copies.  Do you have any other thoughts?  I did install the hotfix on c:/ which was the default - was there another directory I should have chosen?
As a side note, I am trying to print a batch right now and am trying to seperate the job into copies of 2.  Even this is not working.  About every very other card, I am getting a partially printed card and the print job cancels.  In a batch of 19 (10 print jobs of 2), I have 11 ruined cards because they have partially printed before the job self-cancels.  Very expensive to have a 60% ruin rate.
Also, I would really like to be able to print in portrait rather than landscape mode.  I am estimating that printing in landscape mode takes more than 4.5 x (23 seconds) than portrait mode (5 seconds) - when printing 150 copies this results in a job being over an hour vs. closer to 15 minutes which is best case since I have to constantly restart the job.  I also suspect that landscpae mode is far less efficient in its use of ink than portrait mode.  Any help would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • Does HP Officejet Pro 6835 support Scan to E-Mail using the HP Printer assistant Program?

    I receive error.
Scan to EMAIL application not found. The HP Scan application cannot find an email application installed on this computer. Please ensure your e-mail application is installed and properly configured. Note: Internet-based email applications are not supported.
Note: Accessing the EWS on the printer does not show a Scan to Email Setup under the Scan tab it only shows Scan to Computer and WEBSCAN.
Running Windows 8.1 64 bit with Mozilla Thunderbird as default Mail application.
When I let HP Detect my product it lists two printers installed. HP Officejet Pro 6830  e all-in-one printer (Not my Printer) and HP Officejet Pro 6835 e-all-in one Printer (My Printer with correct Ser # and Product #)
Windows 8.1 only lists HP Officejet Pro 6830 (Network) as my default printer.
Does HP have an application that will remove all printers from Windows 8?
If so I may remove printer and reinstall with OJ6830_73.exe the full function printer listed for my printer on the HP web site.
Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated. Please read all above before responding because I have been told that WINDOWS 8.1 needs my default e-mail and other solutions that did not work.

    Hey @HenryRC,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the 'scan to email' issue that you're experiencing when attempting to Scan to email via HP Scan from your HP Officejet 6835 All-in-One Printer to your Windows 8.1 computer using the Mozilla Thunderbird email program. Thank you for including in your post that you have already ensured that Mozilla Thunderbird is your default Mail application. At this time I'm going to have you run some additional steps.
    Step 1: Check Email Application:
Ensure that your Mozilla Thunderbird email application is the full version of the software installed on your computer and not a Windows 8.1 App. It has to be installed as a local email client. Web-based email clients (email apps, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc . . .) will not work.
If Mozilla Thunderbird is fully installed on your computer, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 2: Update Firmware:
This issue may be caused by a programming issue with your printer. To ensure that your printer is running the latest programming Firmware version please click here. Once the website opens select the download button on the top left. Once the download is complete please follow through with any onscreen instructions to upgrade the Firmware.
Once the Firmware has been updated please test scanning again. Should the issue persist please proceed to the next step.
    Step 3: Uninstall Drivers:
The HP Officejet Pro 6830 and HP Officejet Pro 6835 are the same products. It's just that the 6830 is the series and you have the 6835 within that series. Don't be alarmed if your product comes up as a 6830.
Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left hand corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl button
Once the Start screen opens type Programs and Features. Click on Programs and Features to launch it
In the Programs and Features window a list of programs installed on your computer will populate
Scroll down the list and look for the HP Officejet
Click on the HP Officejet and select Uninstall
Follow any onscreen steps to complete the uninstall. Once your printer has been successfully uninstalled please continue to the next step.
    Step 4: Install Printer:
Please click here to download the HP Full Feature Drivers and Software for your printer
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
Allow the Download to Run if prompted
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen steps to install your printer
Once the installation is complete please try HP Scan 'Scan to Email' again to verify if everything is working.
Please let me know if the steps I've provided resolve your scanning issue. Good luck!

I have MacBook 2.1 Intel Core 2 Duo OS 10.6.8 want to install HP Officejet Pro 6835 which requires OS 10.7 higher. How can I do this? Possible? Or Is it possible to install 10.7 upper to my Macbook 2.1?

Lion is the highest version your can install. You need to have 2 GBs of RAM and be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610 fax error message

Good morning.  I have two Officejet Pro 8610s.  One is in my office running MS Office 7, the other is at home running Mac.
To conserve power I have both printers set to turn off in the evenings.  Neither is being used as a fax machine and neither has ever had the phone cord plugged in.
On both printers I am consistently getting the error message "Telephone cord is connected. To receive faxes, the printer must be turned on.  Note that the printer is scheduled to be turned off at XX:XX every (days listed).  To change the schedule, use the Schedule On and Off feature in the Setup menu."
Almost everytime I go to make copies or initiate a scan from the printer I have to click "OK" for this error.  The error also pops up about every 30 minutes and makes a ding.   This wouldn't be annoying at all except the printer is positioned next to my left ear and I"ve been listening to it for six months.
How do I stop these messages, aside from removing the scheduled turn off and on?
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

    Hello @drummer12345 ,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand that you are getting a fax error message form your two 8610's. I would like to help you with this issue.
I find it odd that you get this message. You mentioned that you have never set the unit up for fax.
Please take a moment and make sure that no cords are plugged into the Fax ports on the printer.
If there are none, go into the setup menu.
Once in the setup menu, select the fax setup option.
Go into the advanced fax setup option.
scroll to the bottom of the list and select restore defaults.
If that does not work try a hard reset.
With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord.
    Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the printer.
If this was happening to just one printer, I would believe this to be a firmware issue.
For this to happen to both your printers, I  get a feeling it could be something related to the printers environment.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus (Error E0060)

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and when I power it up it shows the HP logo on the screen then the paper feed starts to run then it stops and I get a message saying  "Unable to send or recieve fax" then it says Error E0060. Then the another message saying to turn the power off then on again and the screen flashes.  Now the printer isn't connected to the computer  and I have not put any paper in it. I would like to know what is wrong with it. What do I need to fix it, and how much would it cost to get this lovely printer fixed?

Hi Rossainz,  I don't know that I can answer 'what is wrong with it', but I would be happy to help you figure it out and better yet, resolve the issue. Let's first try leaving the printer on and unplugging the power cable out of the back. Leave it unplugged for a full minute during which time you can hold down the power button for just a few seconds to help release and build up power, then plug the power cable back in.  If the issue persists, please let me know and we will see what other solutions might do the trick.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500a - get "error - printing" on all documents

    Quick history:
Both my laptop and my printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 have been working happily for months, with wireless connection via Belkin wireless hub.
    > Had printer jam errors - so just replaced printer under warranty - completed set-up - printed test pages - wireless connection ok (did wireless test report, albeit signal quality "Very low", but has always been like that and worked in past.)
    > Printing word document - just generates error "Error - printing" and stays stuck in queue.
Anything else that has happened in interim ...
    > I have installed LiveDrive in the interim to back up all my files on the cloud - works in the background. Can't imagine it's relevant?

  • "Try Selecting a Different Printer or File Type" Error - iPad2 - Officejet Pro 8600 - ePrint error

    Greetings...
I just got an Officejet Pro 8600 and I've been trying to get web pages to print using HP ePrint from my iPad 2 (iOS 7.0.6). I go into the ePrint app, go to web page of choice, and then click on my printer option to print. It renders on screen and then throws out the following error:
"Try Selecting a Different Printer or File Type" "Officejet Pro 8600 [5124FC] doesn't support this file type."
I can use ePrint from the iPad to print pictures from camera roll.
This only is problematic when I try to print web pages (I tried amazon.com for test).
I have no problems doing this from my iPhone...only the iPad.
I've tried rebooting device and trying again....same thing.
Anybody know how to fix this? I really want to be able to print web pages from my iPad.
    Thanks in advance...
    Possie

    Hello Possie,
Thank you for the update.  I have to say I'm surprised and disappointed that the uninstall and reinstall did not resolve the issue, especially since you can print the page from your iPhone.
I have spent some time researching this and working with my colleagues in HP's Cloud Services and we have a couple of suggestions/questions.
Do you get the same error when you try to print the web page using Apple's AirPrint feature?
Please ensure the iPad is connect to your home wireless network and try to print again.
Please try changing the settings in the ePrint app before printing the web page.  Please ensure that the paper quality is set to normal (see screen shot below) and that the paper size is set to letter (see 2nd screen shot below).
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Officejet pro 8500a a910n error pump stalled

had to replace ink supply all 4 of them.
then i get an error that the pump is stalled.

Sorry to tell you that this normally means that the ink system has failed on the printer
    - you can try the steps in this document
    http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/HP-Officejet-Pro-8500A-e-All-in-One-Printer---A910a/4083864/mode...
    This may help resolve this.
If not it means you need a new printer
(on the plus side the newer units have a better ink system that produces less waste and the cartridges are cheaper)
