Outlook 2013 contacts resolve to email on Lync 2013 "calls" list.

Seems that at least for some of my users, Lync 2013 (and not Lync 2010 clients), their contacts fail to resolve to "name" and instead resolve to email.
The related setting in Lync 2013 settings is set properly (even unticked, ok, ticked back, ok).
If user asks for contact details within Lync 2013 client, the client properly pops-up the contact details fully. But the "calls" list doesn't show the names. It DOES show the names of internal contacts.
Environment is SBS2011 (Exchange 2010) with Lync 2013 server.
Any ideaS?

good day all, Is there any way to contact support by email because I cannot call them by phone and Thanks.

  • Outlook 2013 secure list for download picture cannot be activated

In Outlook 2013 I cannot save E-Mail addresses or Domains in the safe list for downloading Pictures immediately. When I push one of the two Options nothing happens. I can only use the "Download Picture" Option repeatedly for every mail.
I have just moved my Domain from my Provider into Exchange from Office 365. Since then the safe list is not functional anymore.
With OWA I can use the safe list, but it will not honored in Outlook on my local PC Installation.
    Johann Baatz BJ-Trading

    Hi,
Please remove all safe senders in Outlook. And add the Domain or E-mail addresses in the Safe list in OWA, then check whether the picture can be download automatically in OWA and Outlook Online mode respectively.
If the issue doesn’t happen in OWA and Outlook Online mode, please
create a new Outlook profile to have a try.
If the issue doesn’t happen in OWA but occurs in Outlook Online mode, please check if there is any third-party Anti-spam or mail scanning in your local PC. If that is the case, please disable them to check whether the issue persists.
If the issue persists, start Outlook in safe mode to have a try:
Start > Run > type Outlook /safe and enter

  • Outlook Express is adding MY email address to Blocked Senders List

I've been getting a TON of similar spam recently (15-20)/day so I've been adding all their quite similar email addresses to the Blocked Senders List in an attempt to block
some spam. Yesterday I realized that some bcc emails I had sent to myself weren't in my Inbox. I found them in Deleted Items and I then found my email address on my own BSL. I un-blocked it and thought that would end it. Within hours, emails from myself
were again being sent to Deleted Items. I quickly scanned the BSL and didn't find my address there......... What is going on?

    Hi,
Are you using Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook?
Please note, Outlook Express is a component of IE 6.0 and fewer people use it anymore in the new century:
    Microsoft Outlook Express Support
    http://support.microsoft.com/ph/2578
If you are using Microsoft Outlook, please let me know your Outlook version and what the account type is. Exchange, IMAP, or POP3?
We may logon the Web mail to send the test email, to determine if it's Outlook Client specific.
If emails sent to yourself on web don't get moved to Deleted Items while emails sent on Outlook Client do, please disable the firewall and virus scanner integration with Outlook, then check the result:
    http://www.msoutlook.info/question/20
Please also check if you have any rules that moves your emails to Deleted Items, delete it if there is:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/manage-email-messages-by-using-rules-HA010355682.aspx
We can also check the Junk E-mail Options:
Go to HOME tab -> Junk -> Junk E-mail Options
-> Safe Senders tab, add yourself to the safe sender list, then check the result.
    Hope this helps.

  • Outlook 2013 (Local Install) Marks All Replied To Emails as Draft

I am running a local installed version of Outlook 2013 on a Windows 8.1 Pro PC and every email I reply to is permanently marked as
    [Draft] automatically by Outlook.
I think it happens immediately I start to type a reply which, obviously, takes some time, even if only a few seconds.
It's during this typing interval that I think Outlook adds the [Draft] marker.
Unfortunately, the message itself isn't a draft (it's the original received message to which I am replying) and even if it were, once I click SEND the mark should be removed surely?
Incredibly, given the maturity of the product and it's importance in the MS inventory, there is a lot wrong with Outlook 2013 and I am seriously considering going back to Outlook 2010; does anybody else feel the same?

    Hi,
Do you mean it happens when you directly reply to an email in your Inbox? I think it's a new feature in Outlook 2013 called Quick Response. See:
    http://blogs.office.com/2012/10/24/quicker-replies-in-the-new-outlook/
As stated in the article above, Quick Response simplifies the experience of responding to email and lets you reply directly from your inbox, without the hassle of opening a new window.
However, if you don't like this feature, we can turn it off by going to
File > Options > Mail, scroll down to the "Replies and forwards" section, then tick the check box labelled "Open replies and forward in a new window". Click
OK and then try replying again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lync presence coloured square not working when sending email in Outlook 2013

    OK, I'm running Lync 2013 & Outlook 2013.
When I send an email from Outlook the small Lync presence icon that appears in the "To" field after you type the user your sending the email to does not appear.  You get the user name but where the coloured square should be it's just white
    (like the background colour).
If I hove the mouse pointer over the user name the pop-up contacts box shows the Lync presence correctly.
At the bottom of the new email window, the Lync presence is always shown correctly.
This happens for users with or without pictures set as their Lync icon.
I've completed a repair of the Office install without success.  Also uninstalled Lync & Office and re-installed but still no joy.  Also tried creating new Outlook profile but this didn't work.
If I create a brand new Windows 7 profile, and then create a new mail profile it works fine.  So, it must be a user profile problem.  Hopefully someone can point me to a registry key or something as I'd rather not go through the pain of migrating
    to a new user profile.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If we need to show the Online status for contacts, just go to FILE tab ->
Options -> People -> check Display online status next to name ->
    OK.
Please also try the steps below:
    Lync -> Options -> Personal -> Under
Personal information manager -> Select None ->
    OK.
Go to Outlook, People, Right click on Lync Contacts and
    Delete Folder.
Then go back to Lync to the same options, choose Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook, go back to Outlook let the Lync contacts sync again to check the result.

  • Not sending email through with outlook 2013 saved contact

Few of my clients users are having an issue with the Auto-Complete option in Outlook 2013 where recipients don't receive mail if you choose the address from from the Outlook address book vcard. This issue only occurs on outlook 2013 and this is creating
a lot of issue with my clients. The attached pic shows the issue that occurs.
The issue doesn't occur if you manually type the email address. Also we tried with different emails and config pop/imap and it produced the same result. Kindly help as this is causing lots of issue.
E.g. If we send an email using outlook address's vcard at 'To' and 'cc' user by typing email-> cc user will receive email showing 'To' section empty :S and 'To' user will not receive any email..
     Some details to help:
Office version: 2013 click to run
    Windows 7 SP1

    Hi Nabbo,
Either your address book service is broken that why it’s not enabling and creating error when you are using Auto-Complete option (choosing contacts from
    Vcard).
    Solutions:
    1.) Create a new profile
2.) Or sometimes it’s happens, when contacts are not verified so first verified your address book contacts.

  • I run a gmail email address through Outlook 2013.  How can I synch Contacts to my iPhone 4?  iTunes doesn't do it.  Verizon doesn't know how.

  • Outlook 2010 contacts not showing phone number in Lync 2013 client

    Hi,
We have Lync 2013 with Exchange 2010. Recently we started upgrading Lync clients from 2010 to 2013.
A few users started reporting that their local Outlook contacts does not show phone numbers in Lync 2013 (working with 2010)
I have installed the august patch which should solve this issue
981751 - Lync 2013 does not display telephone number of an Outlook 2010 contact in the contact card
Any idea where to look next?

    Hi Tobias Borgen Nielsen,
Lync expects all the phone numbers to be in the E.164 format, meaning they should be +1-111-11111111 etc. If they’re not like this, you will have to normalize them if you want Lync
    to publish them.

  • Export contacts from Outlook 2013 as CSV - no email

    Hello;
I am trying to sync all of my contacts, and in the process I'm getting a lot of contacts that need merging.  i.e.:
Two contact records for one, John Smith.  One record has phone and address while the other has the email.  I want one use Excel and an Add-On to Combine rows like this...
    Contacts to Merge
    Name
    Phone
    Address
    Email
    John Smith
    555-111-2222
    1234 Main St
    John Smith
    [email protected]
    Desired Results
    Name
    Phone
    Address
    Email
    John Smith
    555-111-2222
    1234 Main St
    [email protected]
However, when I export contacts that are from Outlook's "Connect to social network" I'm not getting the email from all my contacts in the exported CSV so combining rows in Excel doesn't help anything.
These are two contacts I want to merge into one.  One is from Facebook/LinkdedIn and the other is from my iPhone.
When I export my contacts I get a record for each contact, but the email doesn't show up in the CSV.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

    Hi,
How does the user fill the "To" field in a new message? If she fill it via auto-complete cache, please try to delete the auto-complete cache entry via clicking the "X" icon and then type the email address in the "To" filed. Send the email and check

  • Imceainvalid on sent emails - Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2013 on premise

    Hi All
I have a customer that has had a ongoing issue for some time now and I have had no luck in resolving it. I can see the exact same issues highlighted by other people but generally this relates to older office version and/or older exchange.
    Issue: Error after sending email:
    IMCEAINVALID -
    Remote Server returned '550
5.1.0 RESOLVER.ADR.InvalidInSmtp; encapsulated INVALID address inside an SMTP
    address (IMCEAINVALID-)'
    [email protected]
    Cause:
If you check the properties of the To/CC addresses (only the display name is filled out as the email address, the email address field itself and "type" are not filled (does not always occur and not for ALL
    recipients of email)
    Checks:
There are no local contacts for these email addresses in outlook. The auto complete cache has also been cleared. Running exchange in cached mode is not an available option due to the setup.
    Email details:
These emails are generated by third party software however not the same software. This is occurring on emails generated into the outlook client by software Rosetta as well as by Mimecast plugin to download archivedemails(then reply to all). This is also
an intermittent issue and does not occur every time with all the emails.
    Search:
All searches I have done seem to mainly point to the auto complete option in outlook but this is not the cause of this in my scenario. There was also a known issue in Office 2007 I believe with a office update to resolve, but this is Outlook 2013.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi,
If you just create an email directly from Outlook, has this issue occurred ever?
You can also start Outlook in Safe Mode and then use the 3rd-party software to send some test emails, check if the problem persists.
To start Outlook in Safe Mode:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
In Outlook Safe Mode, all add-ins will be disabled. If there's no problem in Outlook Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which one caused the problem.
Since the issue is intermittent, you may need to test for a period.

This is commonly seen with an Outlook add-in, such as the AVG add-in. I just ran into it again today. I removed AVG and enabled Windows Defender on a Win8 laptop with Outlook 2013, and that took care of the issue. If you must use AVG, you can disable the
add-in and then test new emails.
To disable the AVG add-in, this is one method:
Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry.
          (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/            )
    in case problems occur.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps to disable the Avgoutlook.Addin add-in. If the problem is , we recommend that you contact the vendor of the add-in to ask about an updated version of the add-in.
Exit Microsoft Outlook if it is running.
    Start Registry Editor.
    In Windows 8
Press the Windows logo key+R, type regedit in the Open box, and then press Enter.
In Windows 7, 8 or Windows Vista
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
Locate and then select the following registry subkey, depending on the type of Office and Windows installations that you have.
    32-bit Office plus 32-bit Windows
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\avgoutlook.Addin
    64-bit Office plus 64-bit Windows
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\avgoutlook.Addin
    32-bit Office plus 64-bit Windows
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\avgoutlook.Addin
Right-click the LoadBehavior value, and then click Modify.
Change the Value Data value to 0, and then click
    OK.
    Start Microsoft Outlook.
Note To re-enable this add-in in Outlook, change the LoadBehavior value to
    3.

  • How to configure Outlook 2013 to call direct from within the application without using Lync 2013?

I have Outlook 2013 running on Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit with Lync 2013 (Office 365 Pro). We are using a 3rd party TAPI app from FortiVoice. WE would like to be able to place calls directly from

What guidelines should we use to enable this feature and not have Lync 2013 intercepting the process i.e. let OUTLOOK handle placing calls?
