Outlook 2013 - "schedule an automatic send/receive" NOT functioning

Here is yet another bug in Outlook 2013 which remains at large.
Yes, "schedule an automatic send/receive" is not functioning, except in the case of Hotmail/Outlook.com
The only time new emails  are getting download are when the Send/Receive button is clicked, or when the inbox of the account is selected.
Other than that Email is not getting checked/downloaded every thirty minutes as it is setup to do.
Oh, and please none of those generic "create a new profile" answers.
Thank you.

  • Windows 10 upgrade caused Outlook 2013 email to stop sending, receives ok

Excellent post - thank you. I was going crazy - 2 weeks and no email sending.

Thanks aboo62, I wasted all afternoon until I found your answer. Perfect.aboo62 wrote:
Hi all,  I was very confused this afternoon when I was trying to send emails and they would not work. I was ble to send one last night and it was Friday night when I upgraded to Windows 10 so I couldn't work out why I was able to send emails last night but not this morning. I checked all my email settings and test emails would work but not real ones (only send failed, receive was good) Anyhow I found this somewhere else on the web run command prompt as administrator and do this  SFC /scannow Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10240]

example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios. C:\WINDOWS\system32> takes a few minutes....probably depends on what is on your system though it fixed a corruption somewhere and when I opened email again, my messages flew off to my recipients (yay). thanks  Hope this helps anyone with same frustrating problem. Such a  waste of 2 hours trying to work it out.

  • Troubble with outlook: Automatically Sending/receiving 600+ tasks

    Hello!
A customer to me is having some troubble with outlook 2010 automatically sending/receiving...
His outlook is set to automatically send and receive but the problem is that sometimes it performs over 600 tasks (see picture). this problem occurs a coupple of times per week and is quite frankly annoying.
The solutions i have tried so far are:
Turn off all programs and restart the computer.
    Search the computer for virus/malware.
Looked for a datafile that could possibly make this happen.
Made sure that Cached exchange-mode is off.
Asked him to replace his keyboard if that might be the issue. (not configrmed yet though)
    Create a new outlook profile.
    Regards,
    Joakim Alm

    Hi Joakim,
Does it take long time to process Send/Receive in Outlook 2010? Please do the following changes:
    1. Check whether there is any Anti-virus in the machine scanning all incoming and\or outgoing mails. If it is, please disable it.
    2. Launch Outlook 2010 into safe mode, so that no COM Add-ins are loaded. And run Send/Receive and try to reproduce the behavior:
Click Start | Run | On the Open: line type (without quotes) “Outlook.exe /safe” | Click OK\Enter
    3. If the issue continues in Outlook safe mode, please change a computer to configure the account to have a try.

Error message outlook 2013. Send receive. Not implemented

    Hi Tom,
Does the issue reoccurs in OWA? If the issue only occurs in Outlook clients, it is recommended to post it in Outlook ITPro forum
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/threads Your understanding would be appreciated.
Just for your reference, the issue might be caused by various factors, for example: anti-virus application, third party addins, PST curroption, etc. You may run Outlook in Safe mode, or try the possible resolution below:

  • Outlook 2013 - wrap text group policy applied, not working with or without digital signature

    Hello,
I'm adding group policies to apply on our new installations of Windows 8.1 with Office 2013. One of the settings being applied is enforcing plain text emails and wrapping text at a certain number of characters. Policies are being added using the Outlook
    2013 admx.
When I check the options inside Outlook 2013 the group policy did apply successfully (File, Options, Mail, scroll down to Message Format) The option to "Automatically wrap text at character:" is set to 132 and not adjustable as it should be.
In the group policy I have it set to wrap at 132 characters, but when I go to a client machine and send a digitally signed email, it wraps at the default 76 characters. This makes for very annoying short blocky emails and multi-line hyperlinks.
If I do not digitally sign the email then the text doesn't wrap at all! (until it meets the end of the window). So under no circumstances is it wrapping at 132 where it's supposed to.
    Thanks,
    -Nick

    Hi,
What is your account type in Outlook? Exchange or others?
Please also let me know the email format that you are sending, Plain Text, HTML or Rich Text Format.
You can try sending the same emails in Outlook Safe Mode:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Outlook 2013 - Lost Ability to Send Text Messages - Exchange 2010

    Hi Folks,
I have an exchange 2010 server that has been up and running for 3+ years. I use MS exchange and Outlook 2010/2013 for receiving and replying to text messages on an Android based phone.
Without upgrading or changing anything, this past week one of my Outlook 2013 clients lost the ability to send or reply to text messages. In Outlook under "Home:New Items" the "New Text Message" option was gone. The exchange account was
still receiving text messages that were sent to the phone. But when I hit reply it said account not setup.
I checked on another computer with an Outlook 2013 client, and it still had the option for "New Text Message". I contacted Outlook support, and they just wasted 45 minutes of my times and said they can't help because exchange was involved.
Now several days later, all my clients have lost the option of "New Text Message". It's not greyed out from the list, it's gone.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Outlook 2013 Scheduling Assistant Crashing

We have a user that has an issue where Outlook 2013 will crash when using the scheduling assistant with external addresses. For some reason it doesn't crash when using my external email address but every other email address we have tried will cause it to
crash. I have tried disabling all the add-ins but it doesn't make a difference. I have also tried running the outlook diagnostic utility which disabled add-ins and other things but it still crashes after running that.
The only thing that worked was starting Outlook 2013 in safe mode.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
In Outlook Safe Mode, all Add-ins are disabled, but you mentioned you have tried disabling all add-ins, so add-ins shouldn't be the cause.
Another thing that is disabled in Safe Mode is the NormalEmail.dotm template. It can cause the crash issue if it has been corrupted. Please go to the following location:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
Find the NormalEmail.dotm file, rename it to ".old". Outlook then will create a new one, check if this issue persists with the new NormalEmail.dotm file.
If the problem persists, please collect the event logs and send it to us.
Press Win + R, type "eventvwr" in the blank box, press Enter.
Browse to Windows Logs -> Application, find the errors about the issue.
To protect your private information, you can send the logs to our email address:

  • Outlook Express 6 (Win XP) 'Send/Receive' server p...

For the past few months 'Outlook Express 6' has been regularly reporting the following server communication errors when attempting to download messages from the mail server. (I download messages from two separate e-mail accounts)
    The OE6 errors -
" o Message number 2 could not be retrieved. Account: 'X----- Account 1', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR inactivity timeout', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD
o Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'Y----- Account 1', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F "
The errors usually appear after the initial start-up of Outlook Express or after the application has been dormant for some time. Generally, the first availbale e-mail message is downloaded and then the process halts and fails with the above errors reported. Subsequent 'Send/Receive' requests are usually successful but with duplicate copies of the first e-mail msg appearing in the Inbox.
    I welcome any suggestions. Thanks.
    JohnS

    Hello Keith,
Many thanks for sharing the search reasults for the 0x800CCC0F error.
I've now scanned through the responses, these generally indicate this error is a BT server side issue rather than an Outlook Express or Win XP problem. For me, this problem occurs regardless of e-mail msg quantity and/or email attachment size. My OE is configured to delete messages from the server after downloading them - so there is never a huge number of msgs to download throughtout the day - typically 1 to 4 per OE session.
Interesting to note that there's an increasing frequency of reponses reporting this problem within the past few months indicating an underlying 'problem' trend which isn't being fully resolved by BT Support.
I'm now experimenting with the Mozilla Thunderbird email app which so far doesn't report any issues when interacting with the BT mail server. However, I really would like to stick with Outlook Express and get back to reliable downloads from the mail server. As things were a few months ago.

  • Outlook 2013-Calendar can access which is not shared.

    Dear Support,
    i'm facing a problem with outlook 2013.
my exchange server is 2010 and i have lots of clients using MS Office 2007,2010 and 2013.
from Outlook 2010 and 2007 i can not open a calendar of any other user without their permission with sharing.
But recently i installed Outlook 2013 for 3 client machine and from that i can see the calendar of any other user and they were not shared the calendar.
i can see the free/busy time as its permission came as default.
but from 2010 and 2007 its not possible and asking for permission as normal.
i got confirmation as its the feature of outlook 2013.
Now my problem is only one user can see another user calendar complete details(subject, location etc)which is not at all shared.i have added my account in same OU where that same user  is sitting in the Active directory OU also.but i can not see the complete

  • Outlook 2013 Client - missing random sent items, not happen in owa.

    Hello,
We are working in our company with Exchange 2007 SP3 CU13.
We are experiencing some problems with one Outlook 2013 client installed on Windows 8.1.
He lose some random mails from "sent items" folder. But if you check the OWA, all mails are ok.
I have readed that there is some bug about this, but these comments are for two years ago. And I didn't find any great solution.
I don't think that the solution is to make a new rule to re-copy these sent mails to that folder.Re-create the user outlook profile don't seem to be another good fix. It's only a new start point.
I have activated client side troubleshooting.
    I would appreciate your help.

    Hi,
For Exchange Accounts in Outlook, the emails should sync between the client and the server. Since on the server the emails are there but some are lost on Outlook client, this makes me suspect there is a custom view applied on Outlook.
Start Outlook with the /cleanviews switch:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /cleanviews" in the blank box, press Enter.
This will restore default views. All custom views that you created will be lost.
    Check the result then.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Outlook 2013 Search on Server 2008 R2 - non-functional

The instant search on our Outlook 2013 is constantly turning up the "We couldn't find what you were looking for" message.  It is installed on Server 2008 R2 with Citrix providing desktops to our users. The PST files are being stored with
the rest of the user profile on our domain controller (separate machine). For testing purposes I had tried moving my PST to the C: drive. Have tried rebuilding the index and still not working. One thing I did notice was that if I uninstalled windows search
from server manager and installed the indexing service, search functioned properly (this is not ideal), however, every time I would launch outlook I would get a message that it was installing 64-bit components. How can I get search functioning for our users?

I thought I'd post what worked for me with this problem.  Your post is old, but I figure others may benefit from this solution.
I found an old Microsoft Support post about "Search" and Outlook being installed properly on a Terminal Server.  I followed the procedure and it worked for me on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Outlook 2013.  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/222303)
The following assumes you've enabled the Windows Search feature via the Server Manager.
Install Office and then you must run Outlook as an administrator first.  Once you've done that the search tool will properly run and index everything for others on the terminal server.
If you've already installed Office and users have already been using Outlook then you need to repair your Office installation to get Outlook's search working properly.  To fix this simply login as the administrator, run the Office repair tool,
then run Outlook as the administrator before any of your users on that terminal server do.
That's it.  Once you do that you'll find that the Outlook search begins to index everything properly.  You may want to rebuild the indexes by using the rebuild commanded in the Control Panel under Indexing Options.
This worked for me perfectly on three Windows 2012 R2 terminal servers.

  • Automatically send e-mail function or object

Hy! I need a function or an method of an specific object to automatically send e-mails.
    Thanx

    Hi,
The way we created automatic e-mails are by using actions. In the action, you can call a method. We created a method of our own which basically contains the following steps:
Determine order data (FM CRM_ORDER_READ) --> determines you BP's
    Determine BP addressdata (FM BUPA_ADDRESSES_GET + BUPA_ADDRESS_GET_DETAIL) --> determines the e-mail address
Then we call an self-defined FM that composes the mail and sends it afterwards:
    prepare the e-mail text
    set the e-mail properties
    generate the e-mail (FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1)
    SUBMIT rsconn01 USING SELECTION-SET 'SAP&CONNECTINT' AND RETURN
Of course, there are also other ways to do this, but this solution we created gives us the flexibility to also sent mass-mails from one transaction within one action.
    Hope you can use this...
