Overrid JBO messages in multiple languages

Hello,
platform : JDev 10.1.2 with UIX
We need to have custom error messages for my application.
In Jdeveloper help in section 'Customizing Error Messages ' the mechanism to override existing JBO messages in well documented.
BUT. How to translate these messages to another language, French in my case?
because I get the default JBO French message.
Any pointers and sample code will also be helpful.
regards
Sanjiv

For displaying message, it better to use message class instead of using otr.
Using transcation se91 create a message class and messages, this can be called in WDA
  get message manager
DATA lo_api_controller     TYPE REF TO if_wd_controller.
DATA lo_message_manager    TYPE REF TO if_wd_message_manager.
  lo_api_controller ?= wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
  CALL METHOD lo_api_controller->get_message_manager
    RECEIVING
      message_manager = lo_message_manager
  report message
  CALL METHOD lo_message_manager->report_t100_message
    EXPORTING
msgid                    = (Name of the Message Class)
      msgno                    = (Message Number)
      msgty                    = (E - Error, W - Warning...)
     p1                       =
     p2                       =
     p3                       =
     p4                       =
     msg_user_data            =
     is_permanent             = ABAP_FALSE
     scope_permanent_msg      = CO_MSG_SCOPE_CONTROLLER
     view                     =
     show_as_popup            =
     controller_permanent_msg =
     msg_index                =
     cancel_navigation        =
This will display the message in logon language.
Thanks

Why do I keep getting a popup message in multiple languages requiring a shutdown and restart?  Has been going on for a few months.  Because of the shutdown reports have been sent to Apple upon restart.

After it restarted, did you see a dialog box resembling this one:
If so, next time it occurs click Report...
Before you send it to Apple, copy the text of the report. Paste it in a reply. Remove or obscure any personal information, should it appear.
If problems continues to occur please determine if they also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

    Hello,
    JHS 10.1.2.0
in you jhsdevguide.pdf on page 3-97 the page end with the following text
    -- start of text
Suggestion: You can override the text for several types of messages (for
example JHS- or JBO-errors) by specifying the error code as an entry in the
Resource Bundle. Make sure you compile (rebuild) the class after making any
additions; otherwise you might lose them the next time you run JAG.
    -- end of text
I was able to get the JHS- messages to work, however I had no sucess with JBO- messages.
Do I need to do something extra/ different?
    regards
    Sanjiv

    Sanjiv,
The documentation is wrong in the sense that it does not apply to JBO message. To customize JBO error messages, you can follow the steps as descroibed in the JDeveloper online help topic "Customizing Error Messages", which can be found under Building J2EE Applications -> Working with the Business Tier -> Developing ADF Business Components -> Implementing Business Logic -> Implementing Validation Logic -> Handling Exceptions.

  • GRC 10.0 Notifications in Multiple Languages

    Hello GRC Gurus,
In my Organization, We have a requirement to support French Language due to legal requirements in the Quebec provinvce. This means that all notifications to users in the Quebec province will have to be delivered in French.
I have researched this in as far as:
French Language has to be implemented as a prerequisite in SMLT
The standard notification templates will be available in French language once the language pack is installed
The issue i have here is:
can the notifications be sent to different sets of users in different languages? I see that that one message class can only be associated with one document object. Is there a way to get around this to define who will get the notification in French and who will get it in English probaly based on USER GROUP or DEFAULT LANGUAGE
Ofcourse, the message documents can be modified to present it in both English and French to make it easier but in future if there are legal requirement in others countries it does not make sense to keep adding the message body in all the required languages
    Can you please help?
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
I was looking into a similar requirement and came to the early conclusion that GRC is not smart enough to handle multi language notifications.
The reason why I say this is that whilst you can create multiple documents in SE61 in different languages, it looks like you can only create a single message class that gets aligned into MSMP, i.e no choice of multiple languages there.
What I am unsure about (as I have never bothered to investigate it) is the "message number" column in the "Variables & Templates" section of MSMP. I am unsure if you can send a number of messages for the same template and message class.
Also, I am unsure how GRC checks the user's logged in language and selects the document template.
Have you considered having the content of the email contain dual languages? i.e. first paragraph in English, second in French etc?

  • How to store multiple languages using APEX

    Hi,
I am asked to develop an Application where I have to store data in multiple languages. If someone enters their info in Chinese, I should be able to store it in Chinese and display it back. Has any one worked on a similar project ? What will it take to implement it ? Are there any documents on this subject ? Can any one help me ? I would really appreciate any suggestions on this.
    Thanks
    Naresh

    Hi,
A couple of comments to begin with :
    - Your setup script, test case and error message are not consistent with each other.
    - You've not chosen the easiest road with DBMS_XMLSTORE and nested objects. As pointed out in a previous thread of yours, the whole thing would be far more simple with XMLTable.
Do you really need to store the data in an object-relational structure at the end, or do you intend to further break it down into relational rows and columns?
Do you have an XML schema?

  • R12 FSG Report in Multiple Languages

    Dear Experts,
Client requirement is they need FSG Report in 3 Languages. is it possible?
If possible please help me on this
    Thanks
    Bharath

    Hi Kumar,
It's not that report be written in multiple languages. The coding is normal and all that you have to do is, create text elements, selections texts and messages also normally as you do regularly.
As per your requirement, in order to display your report in multiple languages, all that you have to do is maintain translations to all the above texts. You can do this from the same report in SE38.
GOTO-->text elements. Here goto --> translations. Here you will find all the texts. You maintain the required translations here.
You can also maintain translations for any given object like function modules, reports, dictionary objects etc from SE63.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use multiple languages in unity connection for greetings

    Hi All,
I have unity connection 7.5 Version. i want to use multiple languages for greetings. i mean i have different users from different geographical location. so i want to use engilsh, french and spanish. can i customize my setup like that.
    Regards
    Pardha

Are you talking about the user greeting? Then have them record the greeting anywhere they want in whatever language they want.  If you install multiple locales you can have each user record greeting in different language as well and then the appropriate language greeting will be played on who addresses this user by using "inherit language" feature. Though this will only work when addressing messages from withn voicemail, not by dialing from phone as that will simply use the default routing rule, unless you create custom rules.

  • Bulk load messages into the language repository?

    Hi,
Our existing, pre-APEX, applications make use of a common table of 'messages' to provide multiple language support e.g. we have a lookup against message number and language to produce the required message.
This seems very similar to the functionality supplied through the apex_lang message repository. Is there an easy way in which we can load a modified version of our current messages into the repository without having to enter them in manually?
    Thanks,
    Andy

Let’s go back to the beginning. As I understood, you first asked whether you can use some existing translation tables, to automatically populate the APEX translation repository. My answer was ‘no’ and I don’t think Flavio suggestions contradict it.Understood, in 'my' head the ability to create a script that would pick up my existing messages and use the 'create_message' API to load them into APEX was close enough to automatic for me! My intention is that our first move from legacy to APEX messaging would be to do this to create the base messages, and that we would consider translation later... (In some cases, I could use our existing multi-language messages to produce both the primary language and the translated messages).
Is my position more clear now? I hope so :)Thanks, much clearer, however the final step - once we have a set of base/primary and translated messages, how do we make use of them in a later application?

  • SAP E COMMERCE FOR ERP : Maintaining catalog variants in multiple languages

    Hi All,
I have created a product catalog with 2 variants, one for english and other for russian, have maintained the texts in corresponding langiages in the layout area.
I created a webshop and used the catalog variant for russian, but still when the end user( his correspondence lang is maintained as russian) logs in to b2b he sees the product descriptions only in english.
In the shopadmin , webshop properties -> General Information tab, there is a field called "Language". When i maintain this as "RU" the shop itself is not displayed to the end user.
Please let me know what is the procedure to display the products in multiple languages!!! I must be missing something.

I've to ask you in an other way...
What you see when you call this link:
    http://<server>:<port>/contextroot/b2b/init.do?language=ru
And what you see when you call:
    http://<server>:<port>/contextroot/b2b/init.do?language=en
You say en is working, but what you see by the RU-link?? Any error or something?
I think your problem is this:
--> Now when I login to my B2B, then I am unable to see this russian shop, but the other shop that I maintained for "Language" as EN, I can see that shop.
You want to login and then want to see the 2 variants? But you've to call the apps only with http://<server>:<port>/contextroot/b2b/init.do?language=en  or http://<server>:<port>/contextroot/b2b/init.do?language=ru

  • Fnd_request.submit_request with multiple language request

    Hey all,
Looking for some advice on submitting multiple requests via plsql fnd_request.submit_request, or something along those lines.
Long story short, I would like to submit the concurrent request Invoice Print New Invoices from a plsql scirpt "code unit".
When running that request from the applications, it first runs the parent request "Multiple Language" which in turn spawns the child request "Invoice Print New Invoices", which is the request thas uses the parameters entered in the parameters form interface.
_Any suggestions on how to mimic this functionality via a plsql scirpt "code unit"?_
    Thanks,
    Hayden

There is no such thing as PL/SQL scripts.. as PL/SQL is not a scripting language. It is formal structured procedural language with object orientation features.
It's a mistake to think of any structured procedural language as a mere scripting language.
Your requirement is unclear. What do you mean with "+in turn spawns the child request+"?
PL/SQL "+code units+" consists of packages, procedures and functions - or can be an anonymous block submitted from a client (this is typically used to call packages/functions/procedures).
It's a standard feature of structured procedural languages to have code units and have these calling one another - e.g. package calling a procedure which calls a function which calls a procedure.
If you are inferring some form of multi-processing or threading, then there are a number of ways this can be implemented in PL/SQL. By default PL/SQL does not support threads given the process architecture of process that executes the PL run-time engine. However, PL code can make use of Oracle's Parallel Query facility by using parallelised pipelined table functions. PL code can use something similar to the Unix "+fork()+"'ing model by starting "child processes" as DBMS_JOB processes. IPC (Inter Process Communication) between PL processes can be done using Oracle Messaging. Semaphores can be implemented via the DBMS_LOCK API. Etc.
There's a host of features that PL provide.. (including transparent integration with the SQL engine). Scripting language? Don't think so. Unless you decide to treat it as one in which case you are not leveraging any of the many powerful and flexible features that PL/SQL provides.

  • Sapscript -how to use  multiple language ?

    hi all,
can we use multiple languages in a script. i mean  thet can we print a data from a particular text element
    in different languages.
    is it possible ?
and also how to handle differnt currencies in sapscript?

    Hi,
when you use the syntax INCLUDE in sapscript, you could set the language with the command LANG. Have a look to the SapScript documentation.
    Example from the help.sap.com :
    /: INCLUDE MYTEXT
The text MYTEXT is included in the language of the calling text.
    /: INCLUDE MYTEXT LANGUAGE 'E' PARAGRAPH 'A1'
The text with the name MYTEXT and the language E is included, regardless of the language of the calling text. The paragraph format A1 will be used as the standard paragraph type for this call.
For the currency what is the problem ?
the decimals positions could be manage with the WRITE ... CURRENCY.
the conversion must be made by SAP itsel, but you could use the function CONVERT_TO_LOCAL_CURRENCY.

  • Database storage of multiple languages for name of a single entity

Surely I'm not the first person to have this problem, but I can't find many resources on how to solve this. Just some background on what I'm working with, I'm running a web application using the Struts framework with jdk 1.4 on a Weblogic 8.1 server connected to an Oracle 9i database, I'm using DAO for my persistence layer, and I'm not opposed to using any 3rd party software to assist in this task.
For example, say I have a database of DVDs, My application will retrieve the list of DVDs from the database to display to the user. Depending on the user's Locale I want to display the title of the DVD in that language.
This is a simple example, but the real-world application is much more complicated. The application is highly configurable meaning that through a configuration application, my internal users can add DVDs at any time, edit the title of the DVD, or add a new language that they want the title to display in, etc. When a customer logs in to the application front-end they will be able to change the language they want the application to display in at any time, and the application will need to reflect that change. The display of constant text like field labels and page text is easy using Struts but its this configurable dynamic text thats a bit more difficult.
Its obvious to me that I will need to store the multiple languages in the database in some way, I'm thinking of either storage in some xml format, or a new table hanging off the "dvd" table with languages for each dvd. Either of these options would work for my purposes, but I don't want to go reinvent the wheel when this same problem has arleady been solved. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it

One common way to handle this is to modify your key for the dvd title to include a locale identifier:
    key dvdtitle
    becomes
    key locale dvdtitle
Now your db can hold multiple translations of the same dvd title.
