Overview of all SD business processes within a Client?

Hello Experts,
There is an internal requirement within our Org. I need to get and inform all the SD business processes that are used by a Client. Is there any short cut/t.code for viewing that or I have to go to se16 and give the document types, look for entries and decide the most used process etc...how to go about this.
Regards,
Raj

Dear N Raja,
Not sure any T-code exists for your requirement.
It is easy to find out from Order types- sales area assignment. Here you can find out the diffrent processes (Order types) mapped. Use each order type, take one document number, take document flow identify the steps invloved from order - billing, contract - billing, free goods, foc's, intercompany's etc.

  • Two business processes within a country

We are looking for a solution so that we will be able to use to accommodate 2 different business processes within one country.
Company Code 1-requires users to provide original receipts (physical paper receipt) upon expense submission.
Company Code 2- does not have this requirement and will be using the upload feature in SAP Cloud.
Is there a checkbox or button that our team can use to check off that they received paper receipt?
Does SAP allow for a dual functionality within a single company code?
Any suggestion on how we can handle this one?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
    Regards,
    Cryssal

    Hi,
Angela is right. However, let me add some explanation how the Paper Receipts Required works: if switched on for a country, the auditors will have to confirm by marking a checkbox that the paper originals were received, otherwise they cannot click on "Approve". Customers need to set up a process outside of the system to make this info available to the auditors.
But to add another thought: CfTE supports Central Scanning. Maybe it is worth a try to have this implemented for the company which needs to send in the paper receipts. It works the following: travellers send their receipts to a central place (could also be an external partner) and there the documents are scanned and sent to the CfTE system using a webservice. If the scan is done in a way that there is also a special sign included like placing a sign on the scanner on top of the paper when scanning or by including a cover sheet, then the resulting electronic attachments are added to the expense reports, and auditors can browse through the attachments and see this sign or cover sheet, which would then tell them that the papers were received on scan point, so they can then confirm the Paper Receipts checkbox and click Approve. It is even possible to activate an extended support for Central Scanning mode, where reports are not directly sent to the auditors after the travellers click Submit, but they are parked in the status "In Audit; waiting for scanned documents". When the documents get sent to the CfTE system, the status changes then to In Audit, and arrive in the normal Auditor OWL. So with a combination of Central Scanning and the Paper Receits Received approach it is possible to have a system built in support to collect paper receipts on the scan point, have the attached as electronic attachments to the expense reports, and provide the feedback to auditors that all this happened and they can confirm it.
However, it is true what Angela said, these are settings per country, and not company. So to model the two different policies in the system it would be required to set up the strict policy, and tell the travelelrs from the less stric company that they can ignore the additional process. They should then get a roll out session how to do this best.
    Hope that helps, regards, Dieter

  • Third Party Business Process Within Purchasing /IM(Without SD)

    Hi Friends,
We are planning to implement third party order process within Purchasing to procure the office stationary materials for the business.
The problem here is how to deal with the materials returns to supplier after original invoice is processed?.
    1. Requisition created
    2. PO created in 30-Jan-2007
    3. Material supplied and Goods Receipt done. in 31-Jan
    4. Vendor submits invoice to Payable section and Invoice also processed
        till 31st Jan-07
    5. Now user would like to return the materials to vendor for wrong material or poor quality on <b>1st Feb</b>. Since invoice is already processed... how to account this returns in next invoice payment is the question.
I tried looking for the above business scenario(material returns) in various places, but no luck. Appreciate, if you could give me pdf relevant to above process or suggest possible solution.
    Regards
    KK

    Hi Stev,
Many thanks for your prompt response. I do agree that this process should be done through normal PR/PO with account assignment for direct consumption's.
In my view,  Third party through SD will have more advantage in billing the customer apart from vendor invoice. Without SD, we can still take the advantage of third Party process, in terns of user address management(mandatory) in the PR and analysis point of view. Conceptually they do serve the purpose more or less same within Purchasing without SD.
The problem here in the both the process is invoice processing, as huge amount of PR/PO will be raised for low value items ranging from $10 to $300. Vendor will be submitting the consolidated invoice by weekly or monthly. Since MIRO only provides PO creation date and not GR/Movements Posting date in the selection criteria, it would be quite difficult to include the GR reversals/returns, after the original invoice processed for the order created in previous period. Moreover, this will increase the workload on Accounts payables in entering invoices for small amount.
The above is the situation for explained case.
    1. Invoice Processed for the Pur.Orders created in Jan-07(One inv against many po's)
    2. Reversals/Returns of material taken place on 1st -Feb for the same order which is created and paid in Jan.
Only solution I could think of is to enable ERS and generate invoice GR based. This would cater for Invoice processing and credit memo for reversals/returns.
However, appreciate, if you could share your expertise to overcome the issue and give your valuable comments on the process.

    Kumar

  • Business Process for Casting Iron industry

    Hi All,
We are going for a implementation for a casting iron industry... can you please let me know what will be the business process required for such industry.
    Thanking you all in advance
    Rgds
    Toshniwal

    Hi there,
The BUSINESS process should be determined and explained by the business - this is the purpose of the blueprint.
In the blueprint phase you will build-up an inventory of all the business processes from your client (AS-IS) you can then map them to SAP processes and these become the TO-BE processes.
As to perhaps SAP solution, your project manager should know what industry solution (if any) is being implemented.
I would imagine that for this industry you would implement FI, CO-PA, PP, MM and SD - at least.

  • Business Process Monitoring - Application Monitoring help.

    Hi all,
Through Business Process Monitoring, I am trying to configure monitoring on table NAST, so that an alert will be generated for Billing documents print outputs (application=V3, transm. medium=1) on specific message types, if the processing status is equal to either 0 (not processed) or 2 (incorrectly processed).
I have configured this through application monitoring, using the 'Messages (Output Determination)' monitoring object. Under this,  was able to configure the 2 key figures of "unprocessed messages" and "incorrectly processed messages" with the parameters mentioned above (application and message type).
I set the yellow alert threshold to 1, and the red alert threshold to 2, as I want to be notified each time a print output goes into status 0 or 2, and that a red alert be generated in the case where 2 or more print outputs are not successful.
However, upon activation of this monitoring, I came across the following issue: The table NAST already has over 40 historic entries of unprocessed and incorrectly processed messages for these message types. The monitoring is picking up all these entries right away, and therefore a red alert is being generated.
There does not appear to be a way to configure the monitoring to only look for new entries in the table matching the criteria, e.g. look for billing docs with status = incorrectly processed during the last 24 hours. It seems that unless the existing entries in the table NAST are either deleted or have their status changed to "processed", the monitoring will always pick up these entries and report a red alert, even if no new entries are discovered.
Does anyone know how a way of configuring a date range with this type of monitoring, or do I have to modify the existing entries in the table (either delete them, change their status or set the "disregard" indicator on the messages in the table) before this monitoring will work as I hoped it would?
Secondly - a more general point - although there are lots of good documents on configuring Business Process Monitoring, I have not yet found one which gives full details on all the different types of application monitoring available, and how each of them can be configured. I know that within Application Monitoring, when you choose a monitoring type, the grey box at the top half of the screen gives some good information on what the monitoring does and how to configure it, but a document which captures all these monitoring types in one place would be very useful - if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for any help with the first issue above,
    Regards,
    John

    Hi John,
you get an overview about all available key figures in the PPT "Business Process & Interface Monitoring - Part 2" under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information. It lists all Monitoring Object and Key Figures with Select-Options. There is no document that describes the setup of every key figure as the setup is too similar for most objects. Therefore the grey text boxes within the tool.
The NAST collector will always pick-up everything older than x days. So you would have to process or delete the olde entries. But it is a good advise that for this rather technical key figure we should think about a delta mechanism like with our IDOC or ABAP dump monitor.
    Best Regards
    Volker

  • Automating Business Process.. Workflow or BPEL??

    Dear All,
I hope you help me in this:
We need to automate all the business processes exists at the work. Currently we are using Oracle database and Oracle Forms and Reports to build all our applications.
The developers are excellent at SQL and PL/SQL. There is not any knowledge about Java or any other programming language.
Should Oracle Workflow be used to automate our business processes? Could it be used from Oracle Forms? or any other Oracle tools in general?
Or we should go for Oracle BPEL instead of Oracle Workflow?
I hope you help me in this
    Emad

The idea is to automate everything. I am working in a university, so, there are many bunisess process such as:
    1. Hiring New Employee: starting from the request of hiring the new employee up to the approving of hiring and signing the contract with this new employee.
    2. Student Process: such as request to drop registered course, enrolling a closed course because of a special conditions... etc
    3. Employees Requests: could be software/hardware maintenance request, could be electrical maitenance...etc
The nice thing that we (as IT department) has worked with the Quality unit at my work and we have documented every business process. So, now we know every business process from it will start and where it will end.
Now, we need to automate this. There is a debation that our developers should develop this system. I have said NO, there are Workflow Engines exist in the IT world and we have to study them and choose the best one for our needs.
We are using Oracle Database and Oracle Forms and Reports. We have excellent working experience in SQL and PLSQL.
Honestly, I have been thinking of Oracle Workflow, but Oracle BPEL beckons me.
Therefore, I am posting this thread for the sake of help from experts here who already has an excellent experience in this

    Hello,
It depends upon the business process of the client. some time it will be like
Inquiry --> Quotation --> Sales order --> Delivery --> Goods Issue --> Invoice --> Payment.
But in some of the cases enquiry may not be there in the process, and even some cases quotation too and these both are not madatory.
In SD point of view we are only bothered upto invoice, but the process end once we receive the payment.

  • SAP business processes - HR

    Hi gurus,
Can you please tell me where I can find standard SAP business processes (not any client specific) ?
For example, 1. Benefits - from enrollement, changes, termination.
    2. Payroll - Hire employee, maintain pay roll area, payroll status, then maintain IT 07, 08 ,,, then run Payroll Run program(what is the program name), then how to transfer the results to FI.
    3. Time - what are the infotypes maintained (why), then what/which is the time evaluation program, how the time results used in calculation of Payroll...
Please let reply if you have any general idea where to search for this (any module is ok)?
    Can some one please help?
    thanks,
    Rupali.

    Hi Rupali,
There is not really any such thing as "standard business processes". There are best practices, but generally these are not really documented. Business processes vary from business to business. SAP has functionality and the ability to adapt the system to meet many business process scenarios.
    Best regards,
