Package manager & restore batch scripts

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find any documentation on Package Manager and restore batch scripts for EPM version 11.1.2.1? I'm interested in ways to restore planning applications.

To run batch script during release process when use Release Management for Visual Studio Online, you can use Command Line Runner" tool which allow user to run comtom command line. You can check in by clicking Inventory tab then tools in Release Management
client. You can check this

Package Manager console failed to load

Last night I installed update 3 for Visual Studio 2012 professional (version 11.0.60610.01). This morning when I started the package manager console I received the following errors. I did a repair of VS but other than taking a long time
it did not fix anything. I also installed all the extension updates, no help either. The file mention below is where it should be and I can open it. Tried running in administrator mode, again no help. All three versions of power shell
seem to run just fine (64, 86, ISE). I am running Windows 8 on a 64 bit machine, all updates are installed.
Any suggestions on how to fix this one?

Also tried uninstalling nugget and reinstalling
I noticed on the NuGet website it calls for PowerShell 2.0. It seems I have PowerShell 3.0, could that be a problem? Can I install PowerShell 2.0/3.0 side by side, is there an update to NuGet?

Found the following link in stack overflow, added the suggested items to the VS exe config file and it works now without error.

Slackware user - Arch install process and package management questions

I currently am using Slackware 12 with updates. It has become increasingly cumbersome to compile new software given the number of dependencies that also have to be compiled, and have their own dependencies compiled, etc and so on.
Other than the fact that the adoption of new packages is somewhat glacial, and that there is no automatic dependency resolution, I really like Slackware. Its fast, relatively easy to configure, and easy to use. I'm conversant in commandline-ese.
I've been led to understand based on the Arch wiki that Arch is very similar to Slackware in its layout, but with bleeding edge packages and dependency resolution, so I would think it would be about perfect.
However, I also understand that the install is more difficult that Slackware. How much more so is my question. Is it impossibly confusing and unhelpful like Debian installation was, or just slightly more difficult than Slackware or FreeBSD (both of which have very smooth installation scripts)
Also, for packages that have to be compiled from source, are dependancies easy to satisfy from the arch repository, or do dependencies for new software have to be compiled with their dependencies.
I'd probably just be trashing everything but /home, and doing a clean reinstall.
Is Arch the right distro for me, or am I better off staying with Slackware? Like I said, I really like Slackware except for the package management issues.

You are right about that.

They are quite similar, but Slackware provides more help when doing tasks like - how can I partition my harddisk and so on. But If you're comfortable with Slack's install procedure then installing Arch is much easier, just read the install guide.
I think Arch is good for you, because currently I have both - Slackware and Arch and both suit me fine for my needs.
Also remove all *. entries in your /home

How to extract row_id from PL/SQL procedure and assign that to batch script

Hello Team,
I am stuck with a requirement, wherein I am running a batch script and within the batch script I am calling a procedure which inserts a record in a table (Including a column named l_id).
I need this generated l_id to be passed on as a variable to batch script after PL/SQL procedure completion. So that I can refer this same l_id to update the same record in the table again in the same batch script in the later part.
Looking for some suggestions!!!!

Looking for some suggestions!!!!Don't do this using batch scripts. Batch scripts are very much inferior compared to stored PL/SQL code when it comes to managing databases processes and performing data crunching.
Why can't this be written entirely in PL/SQL? And execution managed from either DBMS_JOB or DBMS_SCHEDULER ? And before answering that, consider the following:
- what is the superior language, PL/SQL or shell script?
- what provides tighter integration with the database, PL/SQL or shell script?
- what provides proper security and access control, PL/SQL or shell script?
As you can call SQL*Plus from a shell script to run PL/SQL, you can call a shell script from PL/SQL instead to run external commands and processes.
Use the right tool for the job. And shell scripting is an excellent tool - but only when correctly used. Are you using it correctly? I strongly doubt that...

Passing Variable back to batch script

I need to pass the result of a sql script back to the calling batch script. How would I do this? This is what I have tried

Executable or batch script for end users to export mailbox to PST

We are in the process of taking over a small firm and proceeding with manual migration of mailboxes from this firm , currently we do not have full access to their environment and having a hard time depending on admins of their organization dealing over
to exporting mailboxes and then importing them back to our exchange environment, my idea is to rather provide a executable or batch script to user's of their organization get their mailboxes exported out directly from end users so that we do not
have to depend on remote organization's admins for every single user out there . is there a batch script or some executable code that end users can run to have their mailbox exported out directly ?

Hi Aswartha,
There is no command within the DRM batch client to send emails. You will need to use a third party tool which can be called from the batch file to send emails. Below are the error codes details that you can use,
Error Level Value Description
0 Success
1 Unknown error
2 Batch operation completed but generated warnings
3 Batch operation did not complete due to error
100 Error communicating to or returned from the Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management Server
200 Error occurred during initialization of the Batch Client
210 An invalid parameter value was passed
220 Invalid URL
230 Invalid user name or password

2. We are not using MDT in our environment so I ant use add features and roles option.
3. The script is running fine when we run it manually.

Cheflex: a simple yet flexible package manager

Cheflex is a package manager written in Bash. It is designed to be as simple as possible. I like the simplicity of makepkg and it inspired me a lot.
Edit: I had to rename Chef to Cheflex. Thanks jasonwryan for mentioning the other chef
PS: I don't see Cheflex as a replacement for Pacman. Cheflex is designed to build packages easily and locally and it doesn't require any server or repository. Pacman focuses on general and mainstream usage, while Cheflex begins with you and how you want things to be organized and built.

Chef is not a replacement for Pacman. Pacman has many functionalities and it is extremely powerful. I see Chef as a secondary use case when using Arch. I developed three different package managers in different languages using Arch. What I was really avoiding was Bash despite the fact that I was not a beginner since I have used linux more than 10 years. Now when I understand Bash, it was fun thing to do an innovative project like this. Chef should be used if you want to learn more about packaging system and advance in scripting and programming languages, as packager and developer. But it might be fun to use as a regular user as well, who knows

Process all the packages with one batch

Hello
My requirement is to process all the packages with one batch. This is because recors in one package depends on the records in other packages.
I managed to implement the folowing workaround :
data are selected from the source ods and processed with one batch.
data are picked up by start routine at with package number 1,
all other packages dont pick up data :
Free RESULT_PACKAGE[].
IF datapackid = 1.
INCLUDE zbw_start_routine_incl06.
ENDIF.
My only worry that this package will be extra large (2mln records or more).
Are there any ways to process all data in one batch?

Hi ,
You can increase the package size in dtp , i suppose it can be upto 50 crores .
But data load performance will be effected .
Also if data records with same keys to be in same package , you may use semantic key functionality.

How to Check files which is older than 14 days in particuler folder using IF condition in Batch script

But this script is failing if the files are not present in the same folder.
So I am thinking to loop the statement to check if files are not there exit from the loop.
The script does not fail - it reports that no files are found. You can detect this like so:
if %ErrorLevel% NEQ 0 echo "There are no zip files!"
There is no loop in your script that you can exit from.

Visual Studio 2013 Nuget Package Manager error

[Resolved][ODQ] Error Running Exported Batch Script Outside of ODI

Dear ODI experts,
I have Installed 10.1.3.4.0 ---> selected "Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Data Profiling, Oracle Data Quality 10.1.3.4.0" ---> Complete (1012MB)
- follow all steps of "Design a Name and Address Cleansing Project" section in Sample Tutorial
- in "Oracle DQ User Interface", right click Projects->Quality->customer master[1]
- select "Run" from the context menu
- the background tasks completed 100% properly
- export the project as a Batch Script
- make changes to config.txt, runProjectN.cmd, and *.stx files following as specified in the Sample Tutorial document
- at step 13-f, got the following errors by executing runProjectN.cmd

Solution:
Needs to modify "e9_tranfrmr_p3.stx" to point to "e6_nomatch_globrtr_p2_us.dat".

Seems to be the DRM service went down, try running the batch after stopping & restarting the service.
