Patch Update - Disks lost labels
Hi Gurus,
I have a problem with solaris 10 update 3 where by disks lost labels after a patch update. Can you please help me figure out what might have gone wrong?
Please be patient with me as i am still newbie to the Solaris OS.

There is no update from 10.2.8. You need to purchase retail version of Tiger, 10.4.x. It would help if you gave as much information about your Mac as possible; i.e., model, ram, hard drive, etc.....What method were you using to install the new OS?

My X301 with solid state Hard disk lost all data
Hello all people, excuse my poor english i try to explain my problem.
1.- I have a Lenovo x301 (type 2776-TMU) with a 128 Gygabites solid state hard disk (Samsung MMCQE28G8MUP-0VAL1)
2-The sympton is: Lost all data of the hard disk and apears 0 partitions and 0 bytes used.
3.- I run all type of diagnostics and all pass OK.
4. I restore windows,aplications etc. and all work fine, but in any random time, the hard disk lost all info and another time apear 0 Partition and 0 bytes used.
5. I try to install, bios, firmware or any update of the lenovo web, and no resolve my problem.
6.- In a last chance install via dvd a fresh instalation with oem windows 7, and present the same sympton of point 4.
7.- I change parameters on the bios setup of the SATA interface (ochi or compatible) with the identical result of the 4 point.
How you understand, i have a big problem and desesperate, but i not sure if my hard disk is of the problem, or the mother board, any firmware, etc.
Any have idea in how attack o determine exactly the origen of my problem?

i had saw loner solved some similar issues who have lost their boot camp after Yosemite update, but my issue is different. i had thee partitions in windows one mac as usual, one boot camp and one i made in windows by shrinking the boot camp partition. but after the Yosemite update i lost the partition which i have made. both mac and windows working perfectly. requesting your suport

I have a question regarding my txt/alert tones. I recently updated my iPhone 5's software without first backing it up on iCloud or my computer (oops). After my phone finished updating, i lost the new ringtones and txt/alert tones i had bought. I connected my iPhone to my computer and sync'd it hoping that it could download my purchases from the itunes store and then put them back on to my phone but no such luck. When i look at my iphone on my computer and look at tones, they do not show up at all. However, if i click on the "On This iPhone" tab and click on "Tones" the deleted ringtones and altert tones show up...they are just grey'd out and have a dotted circle to the left of them. I also tried to go to the iTunes store on my phone and redownload them and it tells me that i have already purchased this ringtone and asks me if i want to buy it again. I press Cancel. I know when i do that with music it would usually let me redownload the song without buying it again but it wont let me with the ringtones...so how do i get them back? any help would be greatly appreicated

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I did not implement any user exit/ badi. Dump is saying that my smarform function module does not exist in the se37 library.
I have excuted my form through se38, that time is working fine. When i tried through output type it is going to dump.

Patching/updating Java Applications in the WebLogic environment.
Hi All,
I'd like to get some feedback on our process and hear if there is some better/different
ideas out there on how to handle patching/upgrading java applications in the WebLogic
environment.
Here is our process:
1) We build using ANT our Enterprise application.
2) We deploy our application using InstallAnywhere to drop the structure into
an environment.
If a patch or update is needed, we again build the Patch/Update using ANT, generating
checksums for each file in every ear/war/jar file as well as any supporting files
(.xml, .properties, .sh, etc.) used in the production structure. We then compare
checksums against what is in production and come up with PATCH_(ear/war/jar) files
with only the changed classes and duplicate production structure with the changed
supporting files.
Using ANT scripts and InstallAnywhere, we backup the files to be replaced in production,
overwrite supporting files, extract packages (ear/war/jar), overwrite classes
with new ones, re-package the ear/war/jar files into production environment and
restart the server.
We patch at a class level due to the configuration settings internal to the package
files (ear/war/jar) that we don't want the customer to have to re-configure everytime
we do a partial release.
Right now, the whole process is automated except the creation of the Patch ANT
script that extracts, overwrites updated classes, updates manifests, then re-packages.
Any ideas on improvements or complete re-engineering of our process to help so
we can get closer to 100% automation?

JohnThe chances of two applications running at exactly the same time are miniscule. If they each have a connection to the database, and are both trying to modify the same table, then chances are one will be slightly after the other its changes would be committed last. In the case where one might delete a row just before another tries to access that row, you're going to have some sort of problem. However, those circumstances are pretty rare, and even so, some small amount of exception handling can deal with them gracefully.

Error when try to install CPU - Critical Patch Update with OPatch

I´m faccing with a problem... After I update the patch set to 10.2.0.4 and install the interim patches for Linux X86_64 now I´m trying to import/install the Oracle Critical Patch Update - Oracle CPU patch!!
I´m trying to import it with OPatch, and I already update this OPatch tool for the last version even before proceeding with installation of Oracle CPU!
I've tried to import it by two methods. The first I tried to apply as described in the relevant README file inside of CPU patch directory, and I used in this case the following command:

redhatsap:orajmd> opatch napply -skip_subset -skip_duplicate

I´m with a doubt after installing the CPU patch, which is related to post-installation tasks. I´m in this momment install the SAP System and it was during this installation that sapinst asked me to install the database and all other activities after this installation that are related to the database, for example, the updating of database patches.
At README file in chapter 3.3.2 Post Installation Instructions is described the following:
After installing the patch, perform the following actions:
1.Load modified .sql files into the database, as explained in Section 3.3.2.1.
2.Recompile views in the database, if necessary, as explained in Section 3.3.2.2.
In this momment, as you certainly know, I still don´t have a database because the sap system isn´t yet totally installed (I´m in phase 8 of sapinst wizard).
I only have to do this "Post Installation Tasks" when I have a database, this database will be created after that phase 8 - so now I don´t need to perform the post steps... am I right?

Is it possible to use boot camp to install windows xp from only an update disk?
Hello,
I have recently come across some of my old windows applications and an update disk for windows xp sp1. All I have is the update disk and I partitioned my drive and booted into the CD. Whenever I got through some of the processes of the initial install it said that I had an update disk and prompted me to first install an earlier version of windows (in this case I do not own one). Is there anyway that I could bypass this part of setup and install windows using this disk (like I have on PCs with no operating system installed) or do I need to go out and purchase a copy. If there is anyway that you could help it would be appreciated very much because the way the economy is these days I would like to save a couple bucks here or there. Especially putting money to a company like Microsoft....it wouldn't suit my fancy. :DOk, so officially, you have to install it on your Mac's internal drive. Good, thanks for clearing that up.
I guess the only simple alternative to installing Windows on your Mac's internal drive is to buy another Mac, and install it on there instead I mean, you could have a Mac Mini or a MacBook, and have that running Windows under Boot Camp. -
Photoshop CC2014.2 won't install patch updater. Error code U44M2P7
This is super frustrating. Creative Cloud just sent out a updates to all my software. Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Flash, etc... but it will not install the updates to any of them. I get errors on all of them.
Here's what I've tried
• Uninstalling and reinstalling. The install goes fine till I get to the Patch updater. That's when I get an error on all the software.
• I've logged in as root user and that doesn't work.
• I extracted the update to run manually and still get an errors.
If I try to do the update from the CC app, I get this error:
"Unable to extract the downloaded Files." (U44M1|210)
The error log doesn't really help me. This is the summary

App hung on "waiting"; during update, I lost my wifi connection and the app hung; now cannot delete to reinstall (no X), synching does not help; itunes app store says it is installed, therefore I cannot reinstall; deleting the app from itunes and synching does not reinstall the app on the ipod; the app developers have not helped and told me to check with Apple (which I am doing, since I am past my 90 day tech support). Hoping someone can help with this hung "waiting' app problem.
- First try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next download the app on the computer and try to sync.

How to use new patch updates in track
Hi All,
I am a developer working in NWDI. We have everything in place and working fine upto now.
SAP has release a patch for the software component i am using in a track. Basis guys have updated the track and they confirmed the patch is updated successfully.
Now when ever i rebuild my DC, the changes are not effected as per the new patch. Please let me how I will be able to use new patch updates in my DC(In NWDS I can see the old source code only, I did all SYNC's and refresh but didnt worked, even NWDI is restarted)
How I can confirm that the patch is updated to track successfully, from a developer point of view.
I have access to CMS and CBS.

Desktop Manager asks for "insert BB device software updater disk"
When open DM (v 5.0) a message "insert BB device software updater disk" for a file named "ApploaderWebSL-Upgrade[1].msi". I cant find it....help needed....
Solved!
Go to Solution.OK. Can you uninstall 5.0 first. Next download and save the DM 5.0 exe file somewhere on your computer. Instead of double-clicking the file to install it, first extract the contents of the file to a folder on your computer. You can use any zipping program (i.e.. Winzip, Winrar, 7-zip) to right click the EXE file and choose Extract To. On my computer I created a folder called "Desktop Manager" and extracted all of the contents into that. Now you can go into the folder that contains the extracted contents and run the "BlackBerrySetup.exe" file to install the software.
If you just double click on the EXE file then the software extracts all required files to a temporary folder on your computer. After the installation is complete then the temporary files get deleted. So the main benefit to doing it above is that all of the installation files will always be located in a folder on your computer. So if you ever have to reinstall, repair, or find an MSI file that the program needs you don't have to download the software again.
