Photosmart 7510 Alignment Error

I followed all troubleshooting steps on HP's support page, ultimately purchasing a new printhead ($50, incl shipping).  This unfortunately did not resolve issue, as telephone support suggested a possible electrical failure.  If I had it to do over again, I would have just purchased a new printer.

Hi satxchris,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
Seeing that you just purchased the printhead, I would suggest calling HP Total Care back to see about any additional steps that they can take to possibly get this issue resolved for you.
I realize you have spoken with support already but here is the number just the same.  1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • Photosmart 7510 scan error

    Hello,
i have a problem with scanning and copying. If I try to make a copy/scan from the glass, it does not recgnize it, it tries to use the adf all the time, even if it has no paper in the adf. If you put a paper in the adf, it takes it and gets it out, but on the screen appears paper jam, check the paper in the feeder. I checked the sensors in the adf, they move ok, they are not stuck. I tried even disconnecting the feeder but it does noy work.
Can anyone give me a hint on how to repair it? Thanks in advance. Luk

    Hi @Luk7475,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot scan from the glass of your HP Photosmart 7510 printer. I am happy to help you with this scanning issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following:
If you are using Genuine HP Ink cartridges, or Refills.
If any of the cartridges are low or empty.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
The Operating System you are using. If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
In the meantime, please see the following guides:
A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One Printer Series. (This is good for real or false paper jams).
A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays When Scanning for HP Photosmart 7510....
Hope these guides will help, and hope to hear from you soon!

  • Error printing on Photosmart 7510

I have a problem with printing on my HP Photosmart 7510 on Windows
I have tried to solve this using HP Print and Scan Doctor, where the first testprint is not working. The internal test print, which is the next option the tools suggests, is working fine.
If I am printing from word or any other external program, just get the error during printing message.
I have tried removing the printer and reinstalling the HP software, but still having same issues.
Anyone have an idea of whats going on here?

Hello @Carsten76 , welcome to the forums
I read about the error during printing you are faced with, when printing from Microsoft Word, or external programs. I will do my best to help you!
I have some questions and some steps for you to try out, please get back to me with the results and answers.
What happens when you print from NotePad (Windows), do you see any errors?
How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)?
What is the Operating System of the computer (Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, etc)?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed?
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?
Have you completed all of your Windows Updates, even the optional ones?
Use your Start menu to check for updates
Hope to hear from you, enjoy your day

  • HP PhotoSmart 7510 suddenly has severe connectivity issues

I have a HP PhotoSmart 7510 printer since about 2 months. Initial setup worked like a charm and the printer has been working pretty much perfectly for the last 2 months. Wireless printing, scanning and internet access on the printer (e.g. for Facebook photos) all worked. Just from time to time i would get the occasional (mildly annoying) message on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable" but it usually worked itself out and whenever I needed it to work, it did work.
But since a few days ago, it has some severe connectivity issues. I didn't change any settings on the printer, router or computer - the issues just started appearing by themselves. I startet getting much more frequent messages on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable". I noticed I couldn't print anymore, and restarting computer, printer and/or router didn't help at all. The only thing so far i managed to print wirelessly since the problems started were the first 5 pixel rows of an image I tried to print, the rest didn't transmit.
It seems the printer still connects to the WLAN but printing and scanning no longer work, and whenever I try to access a web service on the printer (like Facebook) it says it has no internet connection, even though the WLAN light is lit up (not blinking) and all the wireless status reports say "congratulations, no problems found" and display IPs etc. just like normal.
I looked at the threads "PhotoSmart 7510 connects to router, but not to the web.", "Wireless printer (HP Photosmart 7510) not connecting to network" and "Photosmart 7510 won't connect to Web Services" but they weren't a big help. Activating EWS didn't work because even though the printer showed its IP address to be 192.168.1.3, when I entered this in my web browser it didn't find the printers configuration page.
I tried the following steps from one of the threads:
    1. Restore the Network defaults
    2. Unplug the printers power cord while it is still on. Leave it unplugged and walk to the router.
    3. While the router is still on, unplug the power cord from the router, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router. Once plugged back in the router should power on automatically.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
    5. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
    6. Try enabling Web Services.
I followed these steps exactly. Interestingly, even though I had done step 1 and restored the network settings to factory defaults, after turning back on, the printer somehow still had its old settings saved and reconnected to the network.
It seemed to have fixed the problem, the printer finally had internet access again (Facebook app showed my photos) and scan to computer found my PC. But after just about 3 minutes, the printer had lost its internet connectivity again. When opening the Facebook app, it displayed the same error message it did before. And printing no longer worked as well.
So, what is wrong with this printer?! It has the newest software update by the way (I checked during the 3 minutes it had internet access.) My computer is a HP Windows 7 x64 machine (EliteBook 6930p) and the router I'm using is a Netgear WNDR3700.
I specifically bought this printer for my studies at university. In one week i have my exams and in order to study I REALLY need to be able to print some of my course materials! So any help as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated. Or do you think this is a case for a warranty replacement, considering the printer's really strange and error-prone behavior?
    Thanks a lot!

I can assure you that it is not a router issue.  It appears to me that it is a driver compatibility with Windows OS.  After trying to get to the bottom of this since my Photosmart 7525 was new and reading just about every forum and blog, I have come to the conclusion that the issue must be related to the HP driver itself.
The issue does not seem to affect any Mac systems, and from one forum someone was able to fix it by downloading new drivers compatible with 64-bit systems (which seem to not be affected by the glitch).  But that leaves us 32-bit people stuck with the current driver which does not work.
The printer is connected with good signal to the wireless router (no matter who's router it is and what configuration is made).  The printer can be pinged from the router and any computer on the network which is not currently being affected by this issue.  However, the affected computer fails pings by either request timed out, or destination host unreachable.  Pings are successful from the affected computer to any other device on the network.  The only way to recover (at least for a few days) is to reboot the affected computer.
Also, from the display on the 7525, the network tests pass without issue.  I can also download and print content from the internet with no issues.
Please do a quick google search of this issue and you will see several THOUSAND entries of people with the same request.  This is a serious issue that people are having and everything is pointing to an HP problem (not routers, improper installation of software or drivers, etc...).  I agree with several other customers that HP should be on the hook for this fix.  I will give it another couple weeks, then back to the store for a reliable unit from another competitor (Canon, Lexmark, etc..)
Thank you in advance for escalating this issue to product engineering,
    S. Hunn

  • Issue setting up eFax on HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One "Problem connecting to internet"

I'm having an issue setting up eFax on my new HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One. I am following the on-screen instructions and receive an error "Problem connecting to internet" when trying to register the account. The ePrint service is working, and I can use the facebook app on the printer so it seems to be connecting to the internet. I am uncertain how to resolve the issue.

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • HP Photosmart 7510 won't scan

Hello!  I have an HP Photosmart 7510 all-in-one.  I've had it for over a year now, and have never had a problem until recently.  It has always printed and scanned just fine.  Now I can't get it to scan at all, although it still prints without a problem.
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks.  The computer and printer are both connected to my wireless network.
When I try to scan from the printer itself, the computer shows up on the list, I select it, then I select "Document to File" and hit scan. Then the screen says "Now scanning..." but nothing happens, and about 30 seconds later it says, "No computer is connected."
When I try to scan from my computer using the HP Scan application, I press the blue Scan button next to HP Photosmart 7510, hit Continue, and then it just says "Preparing to Scan" with the blue animated bar for a very long time.  Eventually, a window pops up on my screen saying, "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner."
I have gone through the troubleshooting guide, and have gone through the following steps:
    - No one else is using the scanner (I'm the only one home)
    - I made sure that "Scan to Computer" is enabled in the settings.
    - I downloaded and installed the updated driver for OS X Mavericks.  I went through the HP setup application, and it said my printer is successfully connected and installed.
    - I repaired my permissions in my disk utility and restarted the computer.
My printer and computer are recognizing each other and it's printing wirelessly, so it doesn't seem to be a network connectivity issue.  It just won't scan.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

Hello @rmo5369 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I can see you're experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help!
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions:
About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:
OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP Photosmart 7510 series C311 Full Feature Software and Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Photosmart 7510 web services and efax no internet access

I finally got around to setting up my printer to work wirelessly.  Everything seems to be working ok on the home network.  I was also able to use the ePrint app on my iPad to print.  But...when I select a web service or try to register for efax it tells me the printer does not have internet access.  I did a quick check on my printer to give the printer a static IP to reduce problems later. I didn't see any issues with connectivity but may not have known what to look for.  I'm not to concerned about the the web service apps but do want to get the efax working.  According to the network configuration page I printed, the printer is connected, infrastructure mode, has an IP, and I'm not using MAC filtering.  So any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @BM84 ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are getting an error message from your Photosmart 7510.
    I would like to help.
For the web services portion, you could try setting a manual DNS.
I find Googles DNS works well with the printers.
    Primary: 8.8.8.8
    Secondary 8.8.4.4
The following post by happytohelp01 has the steps to set this up with pictures,

  • After a network interruption, my photosmart 7510 prints pages with a "d" on them.

After a network interruption, my Photosmart 7510 prints pages with a "d" on them. I have Windows 7. There is no error message on my computer. When I check "See What's Printing," nothing is shown.

    Hi rosegirlmom,
Does this only happen when the router is reset?
Why is the router getting reset?
Have you tired using a different router to see if this stops the issue?
     Restore Network Defaults:
On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon ( ).
    Touch Settings .
Touch and then slide your finger up on the display to scroll to Restore Network Defaults .
    Touch Restore Network Defaults .
Touch Yes to confirm your selection.
Restart the printer, and then connect it back to your network.
You may need to run the Update IP address icon located in the HP folder in All Programs to update the computers with the new IP address assigned to the printer.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 prints are misaligned using hp photosmart 7510

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and when I print a photo using HP Photosmart 7510 the picture is misaligned on the paper. If I print from Windows Photo Gallery the picture is align perfectly. This is a brand new printer.

The white edges should not be showing. The brown around the picture is just a backing I used so the picture would show up better. If I use Windows Photo Gallery to print the same picture it comes
out boarderless like it should, but when I use Photoshop Elements 10 this is what happens. I worked fine with my old printer.

  • HP Photosmart 6525 connection error 403

I've been scanning to my email since I bought my printer which was in January.  Yesterday and today it tells me there is a problem connecting to the server.  Help!

    Hi RealtorLynn,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 6525 printer that you are getting a connection error.
Please start by setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for your printer.  I have included a link to another post I did that has the steps with screen shots.  Don’t worry that the screen shots are for the Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
Once the manual IP and DNS servers has been set, please check that your web services are still enabled as scan to email uses web services.  The easiest way to do this is to tap the ePrint ( ) icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen.  If it displays a summary or your printer’s ePrint email address then web services is running.  If requests to accept the terms of service, then web services will need to be set up again.
If your web services is enabled and the manual IP address and DNS servers have been set and you are still unable to scan to email, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • HP Photosmart 7510 - Unable to Find Printer

I am installing the HP Photosmart 7510.  The wireless connection is good with a strong signal.  Router is a Cisco Wireless-G.  I am running Windows XP.  I have rebooted with the firewall disabled, but continue to get the error message "Unable to find the printer" after entering the IP address displayed on the network status page of the printer screen.  I have also tried using the SSID but it cannot find it with that either.  The Help screen and troubleshooting with the online manual have been no help.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Thank you.
    This question was solved.

Thanks so much for all your efforts, Brent.  The diagnostic tool wasn't able to locate the printer.... which we already knew was the problem (lol).... but it didn't offer a solution.
However.... I have success!  I am going to blame the fact that it's late and I'm tired because it fleetingly occurred to me to unplug the router and printer and reboot a while ago but I didn't do so.  I finally did it, just now, out of frustration.  Well... the printer is now up and running.  I feel like a bit of an idiot but at least I can go to bed now.  Thanks again!
